Someone killed everyone I ever loved, and now they’re going to pay…

Half-breeds are seen as dangerous freaks, rejects, misfits who are useful for absolutely nothing. But my parents made a place for people like us to be free, to live together in peace. It was a sanctuary for half-breeds, and the place all my happiest memories took place.

But I should have known it wouldn’t last forever.

That peaceful place was destroyed, everyone I loved was killed, and I was taken—and tortured. I don’t know how long I was in that dark place before I was freed, but now I’m a different kind of prisoner. The Enforcers found me, and rather than kill the dangerous reject, they’ve added me to their team.

Each of us has a skill, but the group of big men, of powerful shifters, think I’m just working to rid the world of evil, like them. There’s no way I’m going to tell them I have my own agenda… to get revenge for my pack. Because as close as I’m growing to these sexy men, I know for a fact they’d never forgive me if they knew the truth.

The thing is, when bodies start appearing, it might get a little harder to hide my true goal.

SHIFTER CRIMES is the first book in an exciting new series involving a unique kind of wolf shifters, sexy men in uniform, high-heat scenes, and a blood-thirsty heroine.

3.5⭐️ Scattered excellent moments, and too much repeated angst.

This started out so engaging and interesting. But then it dragged out the hidden info, not just teasing, but instead creating too much frustration.

The supposed shifters just seemed like people. There was no details, behaviours, cultural tidbits, or anything [other than a sense of smell] to identify them as more…

The FMC was very repetitive in her verbal angst [justified], but tedious after awhile, especially as the words used were the same.
We weren’t being offered new information or possible solutions, or even new reasons for why we weren’t moving forward.
Just the same monologue inserted continuously throughout.

On top of this, she came across as particularly young, arrogant, immature, with her anger written more like a tantrum. After her back story, I wanted more practical, focused, or silent and scared, or a combination. Just something more grown up, more life educated…
This made certain parts drag and annoy. It was only the excellent writing and interesting story overall that kept me going during those sections.

Outside of those bits, the action moments were well written, interesting, and made me want more.
Just wished it flowed from one scene to another more believably, more smoothly.

Includes the inappropriate sex scene moment, and the magical, healing dick trope.
Plus, the special snowflake trope, but that is slowing, teasingly done, so can forgive and enjoy 😬

For the most part, read this quickly and easily. It’s not really a shifter fantasy, so if you put that aside, and go in planning to read a magic, drama, urban fantasy, will be more enjoyable.
Cliffhanger ending.

I will be reading on.

My heart breaks for everything Asha has gone through. Everything Max and Braxton have survived, as well. I was immediately hooked on the story as I gobbled down all the tiny clues about who and what Asha is and how she came to be this way. But now I still have so many questions that I need the answers to. All those hints dropped have only tantalized my desire to know the rest of the story. And I will be anxiously waiting for the next installment to find out more.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

Another great story by Lacey Carter Anderson. The characters are well written. The take on supernatural enforcement is somewhat different. Good depth to the storyline. Could use more specifics regarding characters’ past. I enjoyed the cliffhanger ending.

If you read the House of Berserkers series you might remember a chaotic blonde at the end. Well, Asha is back in Shifters Crimes, the first book in the Revenge of the Blood Pack, and if you think Asha was chaotic before wait until you see her now. Readers only get a slight gist about what's going in, the full story about what happened to Asha and the Blood Moon Pack gets pieced together little by little throughout the book. I do have a few facts, the supernatural world hates hybrids and hates Blood mages.

Asha is more than a little messed up emotional. She's drowning in guilt and sorrow over what happened to her pack and is willing to do anything to fix things. Asha is just reacting at this point and she naively believes she can't talk everyone down from their attacks but those in her pack that survived are unstable and I think her guilt is clouding her judgment in some ways. Asha is irritable, stubborn, and persistent and she's not gonna let anyone stop her from rescuing her loved ones.

Maxis an enforcer (supernatural cop) is working with her to bring in the rest of the Blood pack. Max is a by-the-book sort of guy but Asha is winding him up, making him acknowledge his feelings. Then enters his twin brother Braxton who has an instant connection to Asha and joins the team, he understands Asha in a way that Max doesn't. Both men have childhood trauma and dark pasts which sort of makes them perfect for Asha if she just stops being so stubborn about it. Somehow at the end, things between Asha and the guys ignited and woo, I think I had a hot flash. At least things in the relationship department are looking up, slightly, it's a start anyway and I have a feeling they are gonna get a whole lot better when the rest of the team joins up.

This really was a quick read and had a very interesting backstory. Attacks, torture, experiments, and black magic to name a few keywords not to mention a look into society norms in the supernatural world and how they react to things that are different. This world thinks horribly of hybrids, they are treated unfairly, thought to be unstable, and are from safe. The blood mages are bad news but I have a feeling that Asha and her pack are more than anyone bargained for. It's killing me that I still don't have the full story, I don't know, something is missing and something else was hinted at. It's those types of clues that keep me coming back.

I really enjoyed getting to know Asha better, Shifter Crimes was a great read. Things are just beginning for Asha and the guys and they're not gonna be slowing down anytime soon. The Blood Pack is out there, causing more damage and soon Asha has some tough decisions to make. Up next is Wolf Laws

I couldn't put this book down!!!

Lacey Carter Anderson is such an amazing author! Just like with her previous books, I was instantly pulled into this world of shape-shifters and witches.

We first met Asha in "House of Beserkers" when she helped Kiera and her guys defeat King Maxen.
However, you do not have to read that series in order to keep up with this story. We also learned, that after her capture, Asha began working with the Enforcers, forming a truce to help her locate and save her pack members.

Asha is a great character. She's strong and independent, almost to the extreme sometimes. But her traumatic past has definitely shaped her into the person she is today.

This is an incredible read! The world building is beautiful and draws you in and the story is addictive and very dark as our mc is not only kidnapped but tortured as well and the rest of her pack in the sanctuary, slaughtered. Eventually Asha is freed but now forced to work with the enforcers, a team of powerful shifters who work to rid the world from evil . Action packed, well written, this fast paced read grabs you from the get go and holds on tight and I cannot wait for book two!

This book is quite short, and yet I found myself wondering when we'd find out the point of the book. The opener of the book was amazing, it had the FMC (Asha) experiencing a vivid nightmare. You only discover it's a nightmare after the MMC (Max) wakes her up. This author was quite adept at describing details and making you feel as if you were in a flashback with Asha. Unfortunately, the plot didn't reach the same standard.

Asha was captured with some of her packmates, the few that weren't massacred, they were experimented on and tortured. Now she is half shifter/half Blood Mage. A Blood Mage is a being that gets their magic from consuming blood. Max and Braxton, are fraternal twin brothers and military men that now work for the Enforcers (a type of supernatural police force). Asha was captured by the Enforcers and works as a liaison to help them capture/rescue her old packmates. She seems to be the only turned member of her pack that's not lost to the overwhelming power they were cursed with. She tries, and fails, to save two of them, hoping against hope that she can bring them together and life can return to what it used to be. Alas, life will never be the same.

The end of the book has an unexpected twist. Asha needs to fuel up before attempting to rescue a Blood Mage packmate that had already killed tons of people. Max and Braxton offer up their blood as fuel and Asha willingly takes it and a little more than that. Asha and the boys engaging in a little ménage à trois was completely out of left field. Especially in the middle of a very important battle they were about to engage in. Seemed a bit inappropriate considering the circumstances. When they confront her old packmate, it ends up being her brother who had been warped by the experiments. Her brother, as well as Asha, blame her for the massacre of their pack. This isn't explained, but I assume it will be in the next book. This book starts out slowly and then goes 0 to 100 in 0.3 seconds towards the end. It was short but it felt so long until the end of the book.

In summary, I was impressed with the author's ability to detail the trauma Asha had faced, along with the guilt, self-loathing, and pain both Asha and Braxton face. The plot, unfortunately, seem to meander and didn't make much sense. I don't understand Asha's guilt, her motivations, or feelings for the boys. Similarly, Max and Braxton are both infatuated with Asha, but the book doesn't explain where those feelings came from.

Oh man, this read was fantastic! This book laid out the foundation for the series! There are so many secrets still untold, and I feel like twists and turns are coming, I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

When Asha wakes in the dead of night by her mother, she never would have figured that her mother was warning her to grab her siblings and run. Run like their life depended on it. Something was coming and soon, they were out of time. The book suddenly fast forwards and we are thrusted into Asha's new reality.

She has always been a Halfbreed wolf shifter, but now, she's just like the things that kidnapped and tortured her long ago. Vampire. Blood Mage. All mixed together. A Monster. Now on a mission with Enforcer, Max, (someone who just as likely wants her gone) - to find the survivors of her old Pack, The Blood Pack, before the darkness can take over.

Theirs honestly so much going on, I don't want to say more and give it all away, but I could not put this book down and am really looking forward to book two. Max is an anomaly that I want more from. Braxton, I am undecided on. He speaks to Asha on a knowing level of trauma, but we still don't know his full story.

Then Asha - because the book was fast-forwarded, we get glimpses of everything in-between. There is something BIG that we are missing. This is only adding to my 'need to know yesterday' feeling and really want the next book to come out so I can get some answers!! lol

When they meet their newest team member, will he also feel for Asha what Max and Braxton do? Are these feelings, like mates? Ughh goodness, I need to know and can't wait to find out! And really... that ending was brutal. Thanks for that!

*Overall 5/5
*Heat? 2/5
*Tension 4/5
*Multiple first person POV
*Slow Burn
*So far MFM romance.
*Ends on cliffhanger

I really enjoyed this book and its a great start to the series. I warn you though, it does end of a cliffhanger.
Asha lived in a village where half shifters are safe, until they are attacked, some killed and the others captured and tortured, turning them into something different and dark, now her old pack members are being hunted by the enforcers and Asha is trying to save them first.
Max is a solo enforcer but is teamed with Asha to track down the Blood pack members, but Asha doesn't trust him. They are so opposite that they just seem to clash, even though you can feel the sexual tension between them. They follow leads trying to find the scattered pack members.
Asha is very emotion driven (mostly guilt) and desparate to find her pack family, unable to see the bigger picture, and actually making things harder for herself. She believes that she can help everyone deal with their dark magic, unable to see how dangerous it can be, for both herself and others as she doesn't understand it herself.
Max is very 'professional' and does things by the book, this is partly due to what happened in his childhood. I loved the way Asha would ruffle his feathers, and when he finds out that he is getting more team members he is not happy. Braxton is the first new team member and is just what they seem to need to start actually working together, he's the opposite to Max and they compliment each others personality. Just as they start to almost work as a team, another spanner is thrown into the works.
We've been drip fed information thoughout the book but there is so much we don't yet know. I'm looking forward to seeing the team dynamics change, especially when yet another member joins.

Just a little warning: The angst is the protagonist. The constant inner monologue about their PTSD was poignant and quite sad, so be prepared and mentally ready for that aspect of the story. Which is justified, you don't just get over things like that while being a normal being. In that sense, the author really went there in her description of things, which reminded me of some scenes from 'The Boys' series.

The characters were well depicted, and I appreciated that they were quite rational and relatable. The angst they experienced felt genuine, not to mention the way the author described family interactions got to me. I liked that the characters weren’t overly savvy know-it-alls, and that the heroine was not overly perfect. Of course, sure, she was beautiful, hinted to be the special-snowflake, and was a selfish person, but managed to do her job most of the time, which added a sense of realism. Also, the story was set in a world where sharing was neither strange nor fully normalized, so there was a little push and pull in between.

However, there were some issues with the inappropriate smut scenes. Imagine being right outside the place where the people you need to rescue are experiencing the same horrors you and your people went through, and then you just go off to the side to have a threesome before returning to the action. The transitions in these and other unrelated scenes were jarring and felt out of place, making it seem like everything happened in a very short amount of time.

So, overall, even though it has some really crude scenes that enhance its quality, it never quite reaches the level of a story that remains engaging over time.

Shifter Crimes is the first book in Lacey Carter Andersen's new series Revenge of the Blood Pack, and this book is going to grab you from the beginning and take off. So brace yourself!
Asha had a good life until one night her mother woke her up and told her to run. Evil was coming and if they didn't escape, they would all die. Asha doesn't hesitate, but other's hesitation costs her, and she witnesses the devastation firsthand. So many lives were lost, and then she finds herself in the care of those who wish to find and round up the rest who were scattered after the attack on her safe haven. Asha thirsts for revenge, but where will that lead her?
Shifter Crimes, like I said, grabbed me from the beginning and had me page-turning. I was off to the races with this book and absolutely loving every minute of it. then the story shifts, and things slow down. Asha is having a nightmare, I question...is a nightmare? Or is she reliving a recent event that just happened? It sounds like a time skip, but not really 100% on that one.
This book is declared a reverse harem, but for the majority of the book it's just Asha and Max. I kept waiting on another character to make an appearance, but it takes time. Asha is yet another imperfect character. I liked her in the beginning, but as the story goes on her attitude makes her a bit of a headache. We'll just have to see where things go from here.
It's a good book, and sounds promising, but we'll have to see where this series is going. I'm rating this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I liked the book but the blurb and title dont really fit. I''m really bad at writing summaries in a review, so I'm just going to try to tell you where the blurb doesnt fit and how I feel it should be.
You get a short intro into the night Asha's life changes forever. Her pack (village) gets attacked, some get killed and others are captured. And then for me it got a bit confusing because I didn't know what time we were at. I thought we were going to read about her time in captivity getting tortured, but fortunately we do not. We jump straight to her already "working together" with the enforcer. From the blurb I understood that he rescued her, but in the book they mention that she escaped and he captures her. They also say that they have no way of knowing she has her own agenda, but in the book they know her agenda. In the blurb they say that her agenda is revenge, but in the book she's not looking for revenge she only wants to save her (former) packmembers. I dont really understand what they mean with the last part of the blurb, because it doesnt fit with what I've read.
I think the blurb is more a what to expect from the entire series and not only from book 1.
The title also didn't make sense, because what shifter crimes???

I did like the series though. The writing is good which makes it easy to suck you into the story. I would have liked a bit more time with her pack. You meet some of them in the book, but they have changed a lot (you're being told). If we did meet them before the scary change, the shock would be bigger (better) I think.

Shifter Crimes, the first story in the Revenge of the Blood Pack by Lacey Carter Andersen is yet another amazing paranormal reverse harem romance that will pull you right in and captivate you completely! After the last one, I was so excited for Asha’s story and it did not disappoint!

Asha is a half breed in a world where half breeds are seen as rejects, misfits freaks…things to be taken out and destroyed. Yet thanks to her parents having built a sanctuary she was living a happy life…until her safety was shattered and her pack was destroyed. Captured and abused, she was doomed a life of torture and pain until they came. The enforcers. But did they come to finish her off, use her or save her—that’s the question.

Maxis, the sexy lead enforcer, wants Asha’s help in tracking down the rest of her pack, and seeing them as the means of seeking revenge for her pack, Asha agrees to join their team. While this is definitely a slow burn, I loved the back and forth them both as they slowly tried to work things out and form a team. But the true perfection was when Max’s twin joins them and has an instant connection with Asha. A connection that makes Max a tad jealous and that truly heats things up.

I love the way the storyline is building around these characters and their mission and I can’t wait to see what comes next as the team continues to grow, secrets become revealed and enemies get closer. And that ending?!? Can’t wait for the second book!!!

Roller coaster enemies to lovers shifter romance.

We follow Asha as her pack and rounded up and experimented on, which luckily the story doesn’t go into detail about the torture. When she is found in rescued, she is only trading one prison for another whoever sans torture. On a sort of work release for the Enforcers she is searching for her missing pack to try and save everyone from themselves. I really connected with Asha because though she is strong and tries to hide her weaknesses, she can’t help but feel responsible to bring her pack back together. Max is a strait-laced Enforcer but seems to have a soft spot for Asha. His twin brother Braxton comes into the picture, and you know you have found the start to Asha’s harem. I fell in love with Braxton because he is strong but owns his weaknesses and allows himself to be vulnerable when necessary. I also love that Max and Braxton complement each other’s personalities. It is said many times that Asha is responsible for leading the blood mages to her pack but never actually explains why so I was a little frustrated with that aspect of the story. We get hints of the third member of the harem as the Enforcer team starts to build and I’m eager to meet the rest of Asha’s guys. Book 1 ends on a cliffhanger and I’m eagerly awaiting book 2.

Another first time author for me. This is the first book in a new series and it does take a while to build the world. We are first introduced to a female MC who apparently is a "half breed" in a world that looks down upon "half breeds". Her parents built some type of sanctuary for their kind and it was supposedly a great place to live....until it wasn't. The sanctuary is attacked and most of the people are killed. Those that weren't killed were kidnapped and "things" were done to them.

Enough of the summary. When we meet the female MC, she is just waking up from surviving the night of the attack. There is some type of law enforcement division that is trying to find the survivors of this raid because they are now altered and dangerous. The female MC is paired with an agent who is pretty straightlaced as they try to find the survivors - she wants to save them, he wants to capture them. At this point, I completely forgot this was supposed to be a RH because it wasn't tracking that way. We spend most of the book with the two of them not really getting along and at the very end, a new person is added to their team. Ta da, it just so happens to be the Law Enforcement Agents long lost brother. Now, he on the other hand, immediately shows an interest in the girl. And guess what? There is nothing like a little competition to make someone stop the pretending. That's where we are at.

I think this is only a duology so there should only be one more book to figure things out. There is the whole "half breed" experimentation storyline, the two brother RH storyline and then the whole - "who is she REALLY"? storyline. Lots of information still to come.

This book did not have an audio version out yet and I read it exclusively as an ebook. Am I interested in continuing with this series? Yep, I think I am.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SHIFTER CRIMES"
I was pulled right into this amazing story right from the start so full of mystery, revenge, fear, dark magic, steam, suspense, danger, attacks, angst
intrigue, half breeds, misfits, rejects, twists that keeps you turning the pages.
Asha everything she loved was destroyed one night by a devastating attack on her pack so many lost captured, tortured, when the Enforcers found her they didn't kill the reject they included her into their team to find the Blood Pack who who cause all this devastation but she doesn't exactly trust Max their sexual tension is undeniable.
Ahsa works with a group of big sexy powerful Shifters thinking she's like them wanted to rid the world of evil but she has her own agenda that can't know about.
I definitely recommend to this on the edge of your seat story Asha is trying to find any family survivors who haven't turned to dark yet & survive the scrutiny she's under Max & Braxton are brothers totally different but from tragic pasts both scarred & broken but together with Asha maybe there's hope for them.
I'm so looking forward "WOLF LAWS" next book in series to see what's going to happen next can't come soon enough.
AWESOME SHIFTER ADVENTUROUS ROMANCE🖤

Step into the realm of a paranormal why choose romance steeped in gradual, heart-wrenching turmoil. Asha, once an ordinary wolf shifter witch hybrid, finds her world shattered by an unspeakable tragedy that befalls her entire pack. Captured and subjected to cruel experiments, they transform into something far more sinister—creatures that feed on blood for their magic. Asha's journey is one of profound loss and unimaginable suffering. Her character shines with strength, independence, and unwavering courage, making her truly remarkable.

Enter Max and Braxton, both enforcers with shadows looming in their pasts. Tasked with pursuing and eliminating creatures like Asha, their intentions take a different turn—they aim to recruit her onto their team. The dynamics between Max, Braxton, and Asha crackle with tension. Trust is a scarce commodity as their paths collide, enemies bound by circumstances. Yet, beneath the surface, it's clear to readers that the tension transcends animosity, as a potent chemistry simmers.

There is so much anticipation for the second installment and I am so very excited!

Asha lived through her worst nightmare, and now is living through hell trying to fix the consequences of her past mistakes. Accompanied by the Enforcers, Max and Braxton, she is trying the survivors of the Blood Pack, tracing the magic in them after being experimented on, hoping she can redeem them and turn back to light. But the task seems impossible, and she is gradually losing all hope... except for a tiny spark that hopes her brother is still alive. But being able to redeem him? That might be a different question entirely.
Quite the unique spin on shifters, mages, and vampires, this PNR introduces us to one broken heroine that harbors more inner strength than she realizes, and two brothers who seem like polar opposites yet have some qualities in common - as well as the feelings for Asha. There is enough mystery and darkness to keep the reader intrigued, and now after the ending I am very curious where the next book will take us.

“Shifter Crimes” is the first book in the Revenge of the Blood Pack series, and starts off with a pretty brutal action scene. I have to admit, I got a little confused with the storyline during the first three or four chapters. Perhaps because I didn’t read the blurb at first, but for a moment I wasn’t sure where the story was going. Luckily, this got resolved pretty quickly, and after a few chapters I started to enjoy the storyline.

I believe this will become a slow build harem, where only two men are introduced in this first book. I really like Max and Braxton, and I feel for them with how our fmc acts all hot and cold with them. I understand she’s traumatized and riddled with guilt, but I have to admit I don’t always like this kind of push and pull between characters. Hopefully this will be resolved quickly in the second book, or at least they will start communicating better.

I wish I could give more than five stars because this book is that good. Warning to the heart stopping cliffhanger, book hangover ahead when you decide to read this book. The start of a harem, distrust, emotional betrayal, painful pasts… this book has all that and more. Instead of being the normal traumatized heroine who miraculously gets better when she finds her men, we have a story in which she must fight and come to terms with her inner demons. Her trauma will make her hesitate and be wary of people and there is no instant cure… things that makes this story so much more believable than others and makes it stand out as a book that warrants the time spent reading it. I can’t wait for the next book because right now I’m busy mentally crying and thinking about all the plot twists that may come in the next book.

I feel like it's been ages since I read a Lacey Carter Andersen book and boy, this did not disappoint. A new series with an awesome group of characters so far and an amazing story. Ashar the FMC, has a traumatic background, a lot of power and a bad attitude (which I so recognised as my own bad attitude!) Max, the strong and stoic enforcer, always wearing a suit and hiding those simering emotions under the surface. Braxton, the big, ex military guy with a past and an emotional support dog (not that he ever calls it that) Trying to find the old members of Ashar's pack and if they're redeemable before other enforcers get to them. This is action packed and tension filled. Can't wait to see what happens now!

Lacey Carter Anderson brings the Revenge of the Blood Pack series to life with book one. The storyline draws you in and has you on the edge to see what happens next.
Asha has been threw hell and back. Her pack has been slaughtered and she has a lot to overcome to find survivors. Above all Asha wants revenge on the blood mages for the years of torture and loss.
I liked Max and Braxton the twin brothers that become part of Asha’s harem. They aren’t saints but they out to help. Want to find out more about the boys past hopefully in the next book. The bread crumbs have been payed out to keep you entertained and wanting more. The cliffhanger definitely achieves that. Recommend this book and can’t wait to see what this author has in store next.

halfbreeds finally had a sanctuary a palce to feel safe until teh night they were exterminated or kidnapped to be experimented on turning them from feared hybrids to crazed evil monsters.
Asha is trying to find teh scattered remenanats of her family , trying to save any that havent turned too dark yet whilst trying to survive herself in a world where she is constantly under scrutinity.
Max & Braxton are brotghers but you wouldnt knwo it as they are different in every way possible - both scarred and broken in their own ways.
So much feeling in this book, hidden desire and a few tearful moments

This is a new author to me, the blurb intrigued me and this book did not disappoint. I was hooked in from the first few pages. The plot flows really well with plenty of drama, action, heartbreak, twists and surprises. I read this book really quickly. There are a few triggers so check those before you read

Asha is a strong female character who’s has to endure quite a bit in her past which she’s still struggling to overcome. Mark is the quiet broody enforcer tasked to work with her. He also has his own past to contend with. They have great chemistry but are both fighting it. Brexton, Mark’s twin is a good addition to the story, and is really likeable. Their romance is slow burn but suits the nature of the story.

Ends on a cliffhanger. Can’t wait to read book 2.

Slow

This book moved kind of slow. I was bored at times. Since we don't have Asha's whole back story, it's hard to know why she feels guilty and thinks everything that happened to her pack is her fault. While I get trying to save your pack members, I'm having a hard time understanding her aggressiveness with her co-workers and people she interviews. It seems like a dumb way to get cooperation.

My 3 star review is because the relationship development is badly paced. We go from there being an attraction that has never been acknowledged or spoken of, as a matter of fact, Asha has been flat out hostile towards at least Max....to a threesome at a jobsite? Um, can I just say weird and awkward? Made absolutely no sense to me. I guess we'll see what happens next.

This book was a bit slow for me. Ashas pack was attacked and was changed into blood mages(which everyone nates apparently). From there we follow along as she tries to find her fellow pack mates to try amd save them. We meet the uptight Max and eventually Braxton. Brothers who are enforcers that shes working with. There is so much secrecy in this its a little frustrating. Between Asha and the other characters alluding to what happened in the past and how it was all her fault but never really giving anything away, well I've gotten a bit irritated. There's a ton of self loathing. At the end asha finally finds what she's been looking for , but is she going to get the ending she was hoping for? Or will everything be for nothing? Overall not bad

I read the series House of Berserkers and caught a glimpse of Asha and remember her helping while she was on the search for her lost packmates. Well now Asha is front and center in this series and we get to find out what events lead up to that point of her crossing paths with Kiera and her mates. After an ambush her pack of mixed breeds is decimated with the survivors having to suffer unimaginable horrors and being transformed into blood mages. She is now being forced to work with Enforcers to help hunt down her packmates that have succumbed to the dark side and are wrecking havoc on the world. That or go to prison simply for being what she is. Despite all the tragedy Asha has faced she has resisted the call of the dark side and her determination has motivated her to go on a quest to locate her packmates and show them that they can change and have some of the peace they used to share before their lives were turned upside down. Asha is a great female lead and is true to character. She is guarded with her walls sky high and rightfully so due to all she has been through. I usually don't like a shower burn book, but it played well into the situation the book is based in. The book has so many layers and elements being added that as a reader you can't help but become invested. Like who is about to be introduced into the team next and what is it about her past that makes Asha feel so personally responsible for saving everyone left in her pack? The book ends in a cliffhanger that will have you on the edge of your seat anticipating the next book.

Great start to a new series. However this is one of those that is going to drag the story out. You get a lot of vague references that leave you on the edge of your seat wondering what exactilly happened. In this book we only meet two of the four guys that are going to help Asha out and I assume become her lovers. At the begining we are shown a bit of what happened to Asha's pack but as the book goes on it is refernced that it was Asha's fault with no further details given. I can't wait for the next book to meet more of Asha's team but to also find out more of what happened to Asha and her pack, and who was really behind to attack.
