I promised to save myself for marriage - to be a good girl. After all, that has been expected of me my whole life. I’d managed to control myself all these years, to remain untouched in that way. But Charlie, with eyes the color of aquamarine gemstones, full lips like a model, and a physique that looks way too inviting under his designer suits, has me questioning everything I’ve ever believed. Just his presence has desire clawing its toxic tendrils into my skin, his smile leaving me drowning in temptation. But giving in to him is not an option, not when we both risk jeopardizing the relationships we share - the friendships we both depend on. No. No matter how desperately I want Charlie, or how my body weakens whenever he is close, I cannot succumb to his charm. I must fight this temptation and stop from giving him the one thing I promised not to ... myself.
Rania Battany writes raw, real and relatable romance that packs an emotional punch. Her characters are charismatic and sometimes flawed; the romances are passionate and sensual; and the stories tug at the heartstrings, always coming together in a powerful and beautiful Happily Ever After.
I have been looking forward to Gabby’s story so much, with the first two books in this series so emotionally charged I had a feeling that Gabby and Charlie’s story was going to be of the charts emotional and I wasn’t wrong wow what a story, these two have a battle to find the happiness they deserve, I hope you come along for the journey.
Gabby a beautiful person and a fabulous cook who is always eager to please everyone else but the pull she has for her friend Charlie is blowing her mind, she has kept herself for the one man that she loves, she has lost love before is it now time for her to find that one and only and to find the happiness she wants and to find a man who will understand her needs and someone who fits with her like a glove.
Charlie the one who never wanted love, after all look at his parent’s marriage, he is the party boy the one who goes from woman to woman, but as he gets to know Gabby better he is starting to lose control, he wants her so badly but he knows that she is a forever girl, is that what he really wants now, not only that this woman can cook like an angel and knows how to look after his needs it appears, maybe a time for a change for Charlie.
MS Battany digs deep into the heart and souls of her characters and pulls everything out for the readers to feel a connection with them, her stories are filled with emotion that runs deep. Gabby and Charlie were made for each other and their journey to a HEA is sensual, sexy and filled with lots of ups and downs, it is a story that I highly recommend, I recommend the series if you are looking for something that shows strong heroines and heroes to fall for very much.
Ok, this one was really not my thing. I couldn't finish it, I was feeling a bit too uncomfortable.
A very conflicted girl from a conservative cultural background is guilted into not giving up her virginity and instead has a sexual relationship with a free-thinking artist, where absolutely anything goes (she gives head like a porn star) because she is very passionate and highly-sexed and needs to get off without actually letting a peen get into her vag.
The hero is a man-whore who has known her for years and suddenly decides she's the one for him when she turns up with a date. I didn't like him at all and she was way too submissive for me in her relationships, while being a tiger in bed who loves it really rough. Excuse me? WTAF? It was just the strangest dichotomy between apparent purity and lust. And how is there not one judgement made about the putative hero's promiscuity. He's a "womaniser". He "sleeps with many women". But what a great guy! The poor girl is constantly harangued by the other women to "not give up your cherry" and "stay away from him, he's bad for you". That's not being protective- that's harassment!
When the man-whore shags her hard, then gets up, dresses and tells her her got what he came for and leaves her, because he pissed off when he finds out about her previous sexual experience - hello hypocrisy- and she just accepts it all sadly, I was done. (He never apologises for the way he spoke to her, btw, and she never demands it).
The author's writing is fine, but this is my second book of hers, and I'm afraid it will be my last. I just don't think I understand the characters she writes about.
Miss Battany does it again and delivers another great book . I loved her previous books so much but this one I couldn't get over I read it time and time again and each time it was as emotional as the first. The social issues she discusses are always sensitive and things that unless you are from a certain culture you wouldn't understand what it feels to be entrapped by those cultural beliefs. Gabby is such a sweet person she's not weak but she's the type of person that cares about the happiness of everyone around her more than hers and tries to satisfy all the important people around her on the expense of her own happiness. Charlie is such a good misunderstood hero he doesn't believe in love or happily ever after cause of the household he grew up in and the type of relationship his parents had and still have he was and still is a pawn that they use against each other. The only true love relationship that he believed in was Jacob and Leila's and even that crumbled once . We see Charlie and Gabby grow closer together . She's the only one that sees beyond his player façade and as much as she tries to heed her friends warnings she can't resist the attraction. I loved seeing the group from the previous books and the last 2 chapters they broke me no matter how many times I read them. I loved this book so much and looking forward to reading more great books from you❤
Another engaging, heart-pumping Rania Battany creation
I've been looking forward to reading Gabby's story for several books now, and was so glad she was paired up with Charlie. It was unlike anything I had expected and I loved it! The cultural bonds, the extreme differences to Charlie... the contrasts made the story stand out and make a bigger impact.
It's sad this series is over (please feel free to write a novella about all 4 couples at some point in the future, Rania!), but I'm looking forward to the next series set in my hometown of Melbourne. Yay Lola! ☺️
The third book in this series drills down into the complexity of Gabby and Charlie who have, until now, always fitted into the stereotypes created for them. A fascinating and truly fabulous read. Rania Battany knows how to tell a story that makes you think, and still delivers all the feels. Absolutely loved this book, and the entire series.
The chemistry between Gabby and Charlie is intenseeeee! Wow! From the get go I was hooked. The tension twist kept growing and growing even when I thought it couldn’t get any more tense. I absolutely love Gabby. Her sincere nature makes her a perfect match for Charlie, who loves showing off. For those following the whole Stolen Hearts series, you’d be happy to know this book rounds everything off perfectly. Loved it. (Honest review after receiving an advance copy. )
Passionate and sexy! This book concludes the stolen hearts series. Gabby surprised me in this book! I've followed all the characters from the beginning and she's one of my favourites. I loved how Charlie got her to open up about who she really was, how she found someone she could be herself with. A great conclusion to the series. *received an advanced copy.
I'm so sad to see the Stolen Hearts series conclude but I'm very glad that we finally got Gabby's story! Gabby has been an enigma throughout the series. She is outwardly quiet and I was thrilled to get her backstory and see that her outward persona isn't necessarily how she always behaves. We get to see a completely different side to her in this story, told to us mostly through a prior relationship she had. She isn't necessarily the good girl we all know and love.
I do have a minor complaint about the book. As with the majority of my complaints in reviews this is random and has no basis on the story. The cover of the book completely throws me from the story. Charlie is described repeatedly in the story as having "white blond hair". Told you my complaint was random.
The chemistry between Gabby and Charlie was intense. I loved how this book played on the character stereotypes. I have read all books in the series and loved how this brought everyone's story together.
