This was my first read by this author. I really wanted to like this story but to be completely honest, I was not able to enjoy it as much as i wanted to. Gotti and Dash’s story was really good overall. I would have like to see more interactions with them besides the back and forth running from each other. I honestly believe their story was overshadowed by the other couple.
I’m a lover of messy and drama filled storylines but Jaron’s character was off to me. I couldn’t connect with him or Bellamy and the storyline between them was hard for me to get into. I love forbidden love stories but for some reason I had a difficult time getting into this. The chemistry wasn’t there for me. I would definitely give this author another try this just may not have been the story for me.
My Girl! You wrote another one that I was sooo not ready for, but in a good way! Dash and Gotti's spark from their initial meeting, would not allow them to stay away from each other, no matter how hard they tried. You could sense right away that the relationship with Tati and Jaron was not a good fit. Had a feeling that he and Bellamy would hit it off. But, was not prepared for the ish that they got caught up with. Devil was just as his name implied. He was on some get back ish, as he knew that his brother was not cut out that life! Oh, the secrets, lies and revelations..... 🤯! Gotti's momma got me giving her the 👀! Cannot believe all that she did to manipulate her husband, "that" situation, and how she lied to her daughter, to get what she wanted! I literally gasped out loud when Tati acted out in the airport! Like what the hell girl? It was obvious that she had some issues, but did not expect her to go to that extreme! Bellamy! I hated that for you baby girl, but you was all the way wrong for even being in that situation in the first place. Love makes you do some crazy things for sure! Glad that Gotti and Dash made it back from hell, to find the happily ever after. Good read! 👍👍👍
This book had my attention from beginning to end. Very well written, great character development and storyline. This book will have you feeling every emotion from sadness to anger. But there was also a plot twist that will have you so shocked leaving your mouth stuck wide open. I loved Gotti. Although she experience devastation at a young age, it didn't deter her from following her dreams and accomplishing her goals. Although Dash and Gotti's story was full of ups and downs, there was no denying the feelings they had for each other. But when truths are revealed, it seemed there was no coming back for these two. I was glad Gotti was able to get all the information she needed to uncover the major players in the reason she was left so hurt all those years ago. Bellamy and Jaron were two snakes that deserved each other. Bellamy was selfish and only cared about what man she could attach herself to. I felt so bad for Tati. All she wanted was to have that loving relationship where it was reciprocated back to her. Mental illness is serious and Tati needed professional help a long time ago. This book is about friendships, sibling rivalry, secrets and tragedy. Highly recommend reading. Great job K. Hall
This book was a great read. I'm sad that Bellamy lost her life because of the way she chose to love and didn't care about the consequences of hurt someone so close to her that seems to have been unstable for awhile. If only she'd put her career first & stood firm on not wanting to be part of the drama maybe she'd still be alive. Tati, it doesn't seem like she got over her past heartbreaks especially her ex committing suicide & she suffered from insecurities which Bellamy was insensitive. I get the whole allure of the forbidden fruit but nine times out of ten it be deadly sins. Jaron was wrong for the part that he played in these sisters grief and he was just being selfish to everyone's needs but his own. I'm happy that he and his brother is trying to make amends and that they'll support each other. Ooooh Dash & Gotti story is amazing though it was short and could've been more. I'm happy they found love out of all the mess that surrounded them. 🍾🥂
If KL Hall is going to do one thing.. it’s give you a pretty cover filled with MESS! All caps.. the messiest mess of all messes. I definitely feel like her books are love it or hate it with no in between. I can see why some people might give this 5 stars and some might give it 1 star because it’s A LOT from start to finish. Every book I’ve read by KLH is chaotic, and my reviews reflect that feeling! lol
This story was very fast paced, a million moving pieces, and just non stop foolishness. I hated Bellamy because how could you do Tati like that, sibling rivalry or not, then after the airport my heart broke for her because wow, maybe I didn’t hate her. I just didn’t see that whole scenario playing out that way. Dash and G had my head spinning! They were hot and cold. Hunching then ghosting each other. Then the tea boilers over with Cecil, and the mama, and the flash drive. In general I hate books with too many POVs but this moved so fast and all the unfolding overlaps had my mouth unhinged! This was a wild and crazy ride for sure and I could not put it down!
So this was not what I expected and am very conflicted. One in hand I felt it was cut and on the other hand I felt like it was just forced and not clear at all. Like: 1) is Golani that desperate to be going after Dash like that? 2) what happened to that break that they took where he had Derrika and then he turns around go back to Golani who doesn’t ask no questions but still have unprotected sex with him. 3) why was she portrayed as being so desperate. What will happen to Tati? What is Dash going to do in DC? Its not like it was written or shown that he had a plan except just going with Gotti. This story was just all over the place and it was decent at times. It was very unfortunate fir Bells but Jaron is the one that came out like a hero out there….
Just when I thought how predictable this book could be the author shakes everything up! I do mean everything! Dash and Gotti first connected as a steamy one night stand but it wasn't over for them. There were so many factors that could keep them apart but love didn't care about any of those things. The other story of Bellamy, Tati, and Jaron was messy from the onset. Nothing good came out of it. This author consistently crafts stories that keep readers engaged with the right amount of suspense doused in urban flavor. I will be reading more of this author's works.
Great love story filled with twists, turns and drama. Dash and Gotti were a couple with explosive chemistry. Coming from 2 different backgrounds caused a few hickups in their relationship. We dash broke up with her I was devastated but it was for a good reason. We he finally revealed the truth I was outdone. I'm so glad they got the truth and lived happily ever after. The story line will Bellamy, tati, and jaron was just a hot mess. Tati was crazy as hell but definitely didn't deserve what her sister did to her. Tati needed serious help. Poor Bellamy. Poor jaron.
For me this isn’t exactly my cup of tea. A turn off for me is the 10 year age gap. I don’t know why it’s always a woman in her early twenties and a dude that’s middle age/ in his late 30s. That’s just me but to each their own. Additionally, the love triangle was extremely messed due to the fact it involved siblings, but I’m glad the author didn’t give Bells a happy ending because she didn’t deserve it. Bells and Jaron are foul and they drove Tati off the deep end. I hate Tati ended up locked up. Bells, Tati sister should’ve never crossed the line with her sister man. Jaron was also just as foul.
Wow there were some plot twists that I didn't foresee and some I did. I'm conflicted in my feelings towards Bellamy because what she did was super shady, but I do understand that heart can be tricky. I'm glad Gotti and Dash were able to survive their storms. That was a truly complex mess. Things are hardly ever what they seem and when emotions run high, trouble and tragedy tend to follow.
This book was such a good book it reminds you a relationships and I know siblings should never miss with each other man and a girl was wrong for that but on girl was wrong for killing her sister too but it was a lot of deception in that book and it was so good it was also love in that book and it was about.
This was everything. Once again you brought pure joy to pages. From the beginning I had no idea that would be the end! Secrets are no good anybody's life. And that was proven on several occasions! Gotti and Dash surely had a love story for the books. Now I need the DC story. I's married now. What's up?
Love will make you do some crazy things! Jaron was so wrong. I'm still trying to decide if he was a liar or if he truly believed everthing that came out of his mouth. Delusional is my word for Bellamy. Unhinged is my word for Tati. And Lucky is my thought for Gotti and Dash. This book was crazy good. The spice was on point.
Baby Tati was crazy frfr. Love will have doing some crazy things and she took it to a whole new level. Bells was wrong but the saying the heart wants what the hearts want it real. Dash and Gotti was meant they had their troubles but their love was enough
I don’t feel sorry for Bellamy🤷🏾♀️ She was horrible, grimey behind sister and honestly I’m not surprised about how her part of the story ended. If anything Jaron got off too dang easy.
I really hate that Bells sister killed her due to a man and know she has to be taken away from her son after committing murder. I'm glad that everything worked out for Gotti and Dash also happy that he wasn't the one responsible for her fathers death.
I truly enjoyed how the book flowed and the instant act on love. The flow with each character and their relationships had me going through every emotion! True Love truly did win after at all! I hope for an update soon 🤞🏾🙏🏾
This book had me going. All the twists. G and Dash we perfect each other. Bellamy Tati and Jaron were a hot mess. Hated one had to die but karma is something else. Good read.❤
First book by the author, I havent loved. It was rushed..horribly so. Lacks character development. Very plot driven but the plot isnt fleshed our. Things progress so fast and didnt naturally unfold. The font issues drove me crazy.
Such a great read. I hated Bells ending I really wanted her to wake up And be forreal but you can’t help who you fall for. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by K.L soon
Wowwwwww!! This book definitely took me on a wild ride! I finished it in one day. I found myself unable to put it down! Can’t wait to read more by this author!
This book had quire a few twists and turns! When I thought I had everything figured out there was another shock! But one thing for sure….love conquers all!
