Gabe and Phoenix (Amber) . . .
Gabriel quit the Seattle Blades and is on the run. His father, Victor Chase, had arranged for him to meet the famous actress Sophie Dawson at an innocent benefit dinner. Unknown to Gabe, he tipped off the paparazzi who made a big deal of them being together, which they were not. Then Sophie told them she had a new boyfriend, Victor’s idea, of course. He told Gabe this relationship would offset his hockey troubles. He had not signed a contract to marry her, but Victor signed it fort him. Victor blamed him for the Chase Enterprises shares to drop hundreds of points because of Gabe’s actions. Gabe had enough of this. He is not property for his father to use and manipulate. He went to the Manhattan condo and grabbed money and clothes and was going into hiding.
Amber Sweet puts her energy into the band, wanting to become a great rock star. Instead, the band kicks her out! She meets a stranger named Gabe, moody and mysterious, who will change her life. Can she figure out what he's hiding? And when she does, will he still be “just Gabe” to her, the man she really cares about?

Fun read
Fun flirty read! Gabe is searching for the reason for his life, hiding from an overreaching rich father and mourning his mother's death he's hiding in an electrical dead zone. Leaving his hockey career and hoping to avoid paparazzi he chances a stop at a hurting for business gas station. No matter how much hiding he's doing drama will follow. Amber and her band take a wrong turn that ends in their van leaving her at a gas station in the middle of no where. But with her guitar and her dreams she has to get to the music festival. But being broke and stranded Amber has to trust the stranger closest to her. Spending time in the backwoods with Gabe and his family gives her the change to recover for her journey, with handsome company to boot! Fun, feels and chances make this a good read!

I really liked this story. I wish some of Gabe’s back story had been in the hockey book. I almost didn’t read this one because he was made out to be so weak in the other book. Knowing the backstory now yeah that makes sense. I thought it was a light and fun read.

This wasn't what I expected at all. Though it was a quick read it felt like it took forever to get going and then rushed to the end.

pleasantly surprised
I really enjoyed this! I had high hopes going in and at first I wasn’t to impressed with Ambers storyline but it was totally worth the read.

Gabriel and Amber have quite the chemistry between them and I thought that they were adorable together. It was good to see that Chase actually had more substance to him than I originally thought from the other books. This story was entertaining and fun to read.
