I love a good menage story, but this one left me wanting more than what the book offered.

I liked Caulder, Lucien, and Gio well enough, but this story never approached the same level of feels for me that the first two books achieved.

Also, even though there were four separate scenes where they fought the pestilents, it felt that each of those fights ended too quickly, without ever really seeming as though the Weavers or their soulmates were in any real, imminent danger.

I did truly enjoy Caulder and Lucien meeting Gio's family, which turned out to be probably the most exciting part of the story for me, when their family dinner took a deadly turn.

The level of steam was pretty high and the angst between the three MC's was kept to manageable levels, but when all was said and done, the "too easy" rescue of the last Weaver brother felt like an abrupt ending that wasn't overly satisfying.

I'll definitely read the fifth and final book in the series, but this one only rated at around 3.25 stars in regard to the level of enjoyment that it delivered.

When the Fire Weaver Lucien Cummings first appeared it was obvious from the start he would be everything his element proclaims.

He's prickly, he's quick to temper, he's gorgeous and he knows it and he's certainly not willing to put up with the arrival of the Water Weaver Calder Saito.

Of course, Lucien isn't willing to examine quite why Calder's presence aggravates him so much but the rest of the Weavers - Grey in particular - are more than aware that it's a spark of attraction flowing between the two.

When they run into Gio Russo in a bar it becomes blindingly clear to all that the reason for all the emotions flying between them is because they're soul mates. They just needed their other one 😁

With Tangled Warriors Jocelynn and Rinda really lay down the heat. Lordy be, Fire and Water produce ALL THE STEAM! The three of them are so amazingly connected, it's not just the sex, although that's explosive, but they instantly click.

Gio buffers the antagonistic elements between the two Weavers but he's not just there as a fill-in. He's absolutely vital to their happiness and it becomes very obvious that he's landed in a situation he doesn't know what to do with because he's been burnt by a poly relationship before.

There's a lot of humour in this entry, even though the stakes are getting higher and higher as the pestilents have kidnapped the Air Weaver and the goddesses can't track his location.

It's probably got the most smexy times as well, but it fits into the narrative smoothly as the three men's interactions provide the set up for a couple of encounters with the pestilents that really gets the adrenaline pumping.

Gio's family are an absolute riot, I loved them so much, and as the series long story arc draws nearer its end, things really do kick up a gear. It's all actions go for the final quarter of this book as the plot drives the Weavers and their mates into an all-out epic rescue of young Hale.

So now we're down to just one book to come, I can't wait for Hale's story, he's much younger than the other guys and seems to be quite lost. But he has a bit of a cheeky nature and I'm intrigued to find out who his unconventional mate is going to be!

Oh and to finally take down John and the rest of his alien pestilence invaders 😁

Don't know what it is with me and this series. Usually having such issues about world building and quite a few open questions (aka doubts) about the story line I would never following such a series but here I am having read the 4th book and without doubt going to read the next book when it's published. So there has to be something else holding my attention and somehow even enjoy reading although frowning a lot.

This time it's right from the start a story about fated mates and recognize such a soul bond as it is when it happens. Seems the mind of all the still single weavers are now set to gain a soul mate or trying to deal with the possibility of one while going on with their every-day life which might include attractions and sexual tension which might become an issue for the bigger goal. Doesn't make it easier if the attraction springs between 2 weavers because, come on, a soul bond is supposed to be between a weaver and a human, though. So Calder and Lucien act their denial like it's usually done: by animosity and unnecessary bickering. All that suppressed steam is only set free when they meet Gio and of course all 3 don't believe it's anything more than casual sex and fun. I also surely don't have to say that Lucien and Gio have some scars and unresolved packages from past relationships while Calder has to work on his insecurity. However, their getting together is quite entertaining and for a change I don't doubt that their kind of poly is working.

Yes, there are also some fights against the pestilents. After all this book is also about rescuing the last weaver but to me those fights felt more like decorative elements to color up the process of soul bonding, even John, the current enemy in charge, makes only a short unthreatening appearance. Guess the authors liked to paint a last relatively calm picture before the storm, so none of the existing threats were deepened, no more foreboding sentences from the diaries revealed and nothing else relevant was added to the story line except having now an additional mate with power and a lot of humans in the know. Seems I have to shrug my doubts off, smooth the frowning and just keep reading in spite of everything.

Skimmed through this because I do want to see how things end. I’m definitely not a fan of MMM, and especially am not a fan when one is thrown in the middle of a series full of monogamy, and we barely get to know any of the three men here. Except that they’re very hot. One sex scene even gets repeated. Lots of lazy writing, but at least Gio’s soulmate power was awesome.

Baer and Wiley continue to stand out as the best part of this series.

Meh, not my favorite in this series. I feel like the author needed to wrap things up and decided "hey, let's just make two of the Weavers mates and add a third, kinda like a cream filled cookie...no one will notice what I did there..."

Somehow Lucien and Calder, the fire and water Weavers, are mates but don't get along at all until they meet Gio, a hot Italian furniture restorer. The chemistry was kinda blah, but there was alot of action and I adored Gio's family which bumped this up from maybe a 3 to a solid 3.5.

It's been a while since I read the previous book so I was concerned that I'd get confused about who was who in this, but the story began right in the middle of an action scene and I was pulled right back into the world.

Calder (who was the newest Weaver as at the end of the previous book) and Lucien were always at each others throats in the beginning. This was mainly because Lucien kept antagonising him and I'm sure we can all guess as to why that was *face palm*.

Fortunately, in came Gio to balance out the tenuous situation and make this seemingly impossible matchup into a sweet poly pairing. I liked them as a throuple, but I felt the jump into "deeper" feelings could've been smoother. Nonetheless, I liked each of the men so I did not mind so much.

While the writing was good per usual, nothing much happened plot-wise aside the team trying to acquire the final Weaver and unfortunately this is where the story lost me at times. I just could not bring myself to be super interested in that. I wanted some inclination as to what the end game could be or how the introduction of the final weaver could affect the status quo but this was not so.

Hopefully, in the next and final book, all this would be worked out much better to give the series the ending it truly deserves.

this was a good next book in this series. it was more relationship-based instead of a real next step in the story ... that surprised me especially after the info that there is only one book left, which seems short (as we still have to find the missing mate)
but I liked Lucien, Calder and Gio together .... Gios discovering his power so fast was a bit too convenient, especially with how fast he handled it.

nevertheless, this was a good read, which I really enjoyed

New pet peeve discovered. Making them fall first then backing away. Started out sweet and fun. Luci and Cal finding their third in Gio. Gio seemed to be all in and the plot focused on rescuing the last weaver. The moment the soul mate truth came out, it was hell no rejection and I lost interest in Gio. I did like the pool bit where Luci comforted Cal. I liked the small revenge and the family were great. The petting session was funny. Glad they worked it all out.

I love this series, and how this book didn’t follow the previous stories of one weaver finding a human mate. I like how each book not only adds soulmates to the cast, but progresses the overall series story arc.

Gio’s enthusiasm for life is wonderful, and exactly what Lucien and Calder need. I like how they all bring something to the relationship. I liked how all three had their reasons to be reluctant to enter into the relationship. It felt very real, and added to their characters.

I love how Grey has it all sussed, but leaves them to figure it out themselves. The weavers, and their mates, as family is one of my favourite parts of this series. The world building is fabulous, dangerous, and fun too, and I like how the characters are all different in personality and magic. I also like how their abilities come with consequences, and are draining.

The plot is a great mix of tension, action, drama, and romance. I liked how they have to work for each advantage and that finding the missing weaver isn’t easy. It all comes together to show how much of a threat the bad guys are.

Gio’s family totally rock, and I love their reaction to everything.

I’m hanging out for the final book in the series now.

Loved the chemistry between the 3 and the way their relationship was structured. I love poly relationships when they are niceluly balanced like this one was. Calder and Lucien don't work alone, there's too much animosity there.
Things were a little bit too neat and fast towards the end which is why it isn't a 5 star.
As penultimate books go, this was good. More romance focused even though they were working to find the last weaver for most of the book.

I don't read m/m/m. It's not my thing. I wish authors would not throw those in a m/m series. It messes things up for those of us who do not read that genre.

Rating (All ratings use a Scale of 1-5) = This series remains in the 3.5 stars range for me. They are definitely above the average m/m, but not quite up to what I would consider 4 stars either. For me, they fall more under a "Guilty pleasure". Something about them keeps suckling me in, and despite some flaws I just enjoy them.

Blurb = 3.5 stars
My Genre Scale = 4 stars
Odds if not your genre = 2.5 stars, unless one really enjoys the m/m/m aspect. Then it would be at least 3 Stars.

Development of: =
*World = As a series and a book not quite 3.5 stars. Just slightly above enough if a lot of development / background is not important to you.
*Characters = barely 3 Stars. The m/c's are distinct from one another and there is some growth, but none are really fleshed out etc...
*Plot = 3 stars some movement on overall arc to lead into the final book, but the plot holes felt a lot more glaring than in the others. These definitely require a large ability to suspend belief along with the ability to not get hung up in questionable probably illogical actions especially from the pestilents.

What stood out = Nothing

Mood Type / Appeal to those looking for = Entertaining brain candy type read for escapism

Warnings =None

HFN/HEA = Yes for the relationships, but not the world or the Weavers yet.

Series Notes = 4th of what looks to be 5 books.
*Reading on? Yes
*Reading back to back? No. Which is highly unusual for me. I typically prefer a series to be complete befits reading.
*Can be easily read without the previous? Yes as long as one is not a very uptight reader. These are not big on details or depth. There might be some confusion on keeping up with the previous pairs and their abilities, but it is explained along with who they are fighting and why.

Rating Notes = (SubPlots, thoughts, etc... )
I strongly feel by far that this is not Ms. Drakes strongest series. But, it is entertaining as a guilty pleasure if one can suspend belief and just enjoy the ride.

***************
I am way off my usual rate of reading over the last 11+ years. Real life has hit hard this year. Most recently with the death of my mother, and I had just been getting back into the swing of things. More upheaval appears to be on the horizon, but it has as much potential to be good as bad. I have no idea what that means for the rate of my reading and reviewing, but we will see...
***************
Below is my philosophy on reviewing!
***************
1. I try to take into account and note common pet peeves often bemoaned by others.
2. "Brain candy' does not necessarily carry a negative connotation. (What is brain candy? Publishing industry 's version of pop music - Typically: formulaic, from a prolific author published often and quickly (like monthly), things escalate fast, and are often solved easily etc..)  It has its uses: to pass time when tired, on the beach, etc...  The problem comes  when "brain candy" is unexpected or even disguised.
3. Blurb rating purpose:
Like many readers, I do not like to think I'm reading one kind of story; just to end up with another. But...I also don't think a book should be docked stars for being as stated. If I don't like stories about "_________", and I choose to read it; I shouldn't give it 2 stars based JUST on my preferences. Unless... it wasn't clear in the blurb.
4. Other Factors that effect my perspective when reviewing:
Since 2009, I have exclusively read m/m. My 1st was in 2007. I am a Kindle diehard, and I never do audio for m/m. I read at least 100+ books a year - with an average length of 220± pages; but the total number of books is usually much higher. My Goodreads lifetime rating (at the start of 2021) was a 3.64 average for 1527 books. Which considering, one should be better at picking out books the more one reads, I feel is an accurate average. I have over 795 reviews within the m/m genre here on Goodreads.

Strong fingers caressed his cheek again. "Don't worry, sweetheart. We'll take good care of you. No one has to do anything they're not comfortable with. I'm all about consent and having a good time." Gio looked up at Lucien. "That's my offer. I want both or nothing at all."

I really, really liked that this book progressed the MC's relationship a little differently than the first three in series! We definitely needed a different formula at this point, and the author even gave us a bonus participant to spice things up. While I don't feel we got quite as much depth to Calder and Gio as I wanted, I did enjoy the roles that they fell into within the group. We had the benefit of knowing Lucien over several books now, but his hot-headed POV still felt fresh.

He took a couple of deep breaths and pushed away the fine shaking through his body. Just a little bit longer, and then he'd be back in the hotel room with his men. When they were all safe, he could collapse, and they'd take turns babying each other. Yeah, that sounded like heaven.

This book seemed to lean more heavily on how the mates potentiate their weavers but also bring their own powers and purposes to the table. It felt like everyone was on more equal ground. For the first time in the series, some secondary characters other than the goddesses come into play as well. Gio's family was awesome, the family dinner was my favorite scene maybe in the whole series so far. Though, the

"When we're together, it's good. When I'm with Gio, it's good. But when we're all together, its heaven."

The spice in this book was the best in series IMO, not only because of the obvious "extra participant" as I mentioned above, but the characterizations and general amount of spice really worked well for the length of this book.

At last, I'm onto Storm Warrior, which I hope will be a little different as well - I think our MC is younger than the rest? We'll see!

I'm not a huge MMM reader, but I'm enjoying this series so much that I knew I just had to read this addition.

Tangled Warrior is an opposite attract book. How opposite you ask?? Water & Fire opposite!!
The Water Weaver, Calder, is a pretty laid back guy. The only thing that ruffles his feathers is the Fire Weaver. And still he can't understand his attraction to this man.
The Fire Weaver, Lucien, is very much his power. He is quick tempered, and can't seem to get along with his brother, the Water Weaver. Like Calder, he can't understand his attraction to this man.

Enter Gio. He is fun. He is sassy. He knows what he wants.. and he wants both Calder and Lucien... in his bed!! Gio calms the storm raging between the two Weavers.
What do you get when you mix water and fire?? STEAM!! and boy oh boy, was this book steamy!!
What starts out as smexy times between the sheets, quickly explodes and develops into a threeway relationship, all the while trying to save the world from pestilence, keeping their mates safe and recuing the last Weaver.

There's one book left in this series, it's Hale's book, the Air Weaver, and I can't wait to get my hands on him.

I think this was my fav in the series so far.

I really liked all three together. getting to understand the tension between Lucien & Calder even if it was a little heavy handed, and yet the chemistry between the weavers and Gio was hot as hell. I really liked how they worked together, the structure of them in a poly relationship.

I’m not really sure what else to say. This one was very heavy in the romance then about the series plot, but we are definitely coming to the end (as in, only one more book) and I’m looking forward to it.

Eeeppp I just love poly relationships! Lucien, Calder and Gio were just perfect for one another. I’m absolutely enamored with them. Gio was so sexy and sweet and such a balance for Lucien and Calder to let go and finally fall for one another.
We are one step closer to the grand finale and I just can’t wait!

This is a great addition to the Weavers Circle Series! Unlike previous books, Tangled Warriors features an MMM relationship, and it was done really well. The relationship was balanced while still providing some outside angst to make things interesting. Personally, I could've used a bit more angst between the three of them as they figured their relationship out. I loved the slight enemies-to-lovers thing going on between Calder and Lucien before Gio comes into the picture. Their back and forth and "dislike" for one another was fun. But the three of them make a really great pair, and the sex was super hot!

The only real complaint that I have about this latest installment is that the threats didn't seem very dangerous. I didn't feel like the characters were truly desperate or in danger of losing. Hell, no one really even got hurt...I just expected a bit more danger and higher stakes during the second to last book in the series. The Weavers have basically been annihilating all of their enemies despite the audience being told how big of a threat they are. Hopefully the last book will feel a bit more perilous.

I love this series, I mean, not as much as the Lords of Discord, but close. That being said, as much as I did enjoy the book. I still can’t bring myself to give it 5 stars.

The problem was not the MMM aspect at all. In fact, I think it was well put together and not a mess to navigate through. It wasn’t the characters, although, the whole “got burned once before so I’m gonna be a hit it and quit it type of guy” trope is NOT my favorite. And for TWO of the main characters to be this way? Ugh. So yeah, that, on top of oh look, yet another group of random ass people attacking the house, like it happened in previous books, was not giving me good vibes. Then of course was the fact that the conflict / battles in this book felt a bit rushed for me. Of course, that is a ME problem.

Ultimately, it’s a good book. I enjoyed it. I would recommend it.

The perfect trio

I have been wanting Lucien’s story since the guys first found him surrounded by pestilents. He and Calder fight constantly now because they are trying to ignore the attraction between them. It just takes the perfect person to bring them together: Gio, the loud and extra young man who just happens to be the antiques restorer hired to look at the furniture in the attic. I have loved this whole series and can’t wait to see how the final weaver fits into this crazy found family.

This book is on fire! And no, I’m not talking about Lucien and his powers. He along with Gio and Calder are h3lla hot and I could use a cold shower right about now. Too bad Calder isn’t around. I so did not expect sexy Gio and a throuple but I couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect. He belongs, not just with his men but with this amazing family. “It’s like…like he’s half of a heartbeat. The exhale to our inhale.” Siiigh, I flove this book so hard. The steamy tension between Calder and Lucien, especially when Gio is added to the mix… Nnggh, they smolder together. I won’t ever get enough of how they can’t stay away from each other, or the incredible, passionate love they share. They’re the perfect amount of spice and sweet and have my heart all tangled up. Then there’s the intense action and suspense that just keeps ramping up as the fight to defeat the pestilents comes ever closer to its end. I NEED to know who the Air Weaver’s soulmate is and what will happen next. Guess I’ll just have to disappear into this phenomenal world until that time comes.

This book was a huge surprise, and I mean HUGE. I'd always thought that each Weaver would get one mate, therefore I never expected a menage, and absolutely not between two of the Weavers with their third mate.

Of course, there was so much to love about Tangled Warriors. I found an amazing balance between action and romance, all wrapped up in a great plot. I was taken on a thrilling rollercoaster, with dangers around every corner and action scenes blended with sweet and fun moments. The Weavers were awesome as ever, strong and brave, sometimes doubtful and reasonably afraid, and with their bond stronger than ever. And amidst the perils around them, Lucien, Calder and Gio together were simply wonderful. The three men were different, and seeing them fall in love was enchanting. Even with all the danger, they were given the time to know each other, until they became equal partners in their relationship.

This was a brilliant continuation in the The Weavers Circle series and I loved it. Bring on the next book!

So now the Weavers are down to one more. Lucian, Calder and Gio have a beautiful exciting story.

Lucian and Calder have been at each other’s throats since they met. They don’t understand why they can’t stand each other. Their brothers have had enough of the fighting. So now they have to figure out how to be civil. Then one night everything changes. Gio has entered the picture and with him as a buffer, they all get along really well. REALLY well.

Between the pestilents and finding the last Weaver these three have an amazing time figuring out what they truly want and need.

I’ve been looking forward to reading one and it was so worth the wait.

The author built up the sexual tension between the Lucien, Calder and Gio perfectly. Lucien and Calder had a rocky start in the beginning but things changed for the better when they met Gio.

There was loads going on so there was never a full moment.

Gio’s family was a blast and I loved how the easily accepted Calder/Lucien into their family.

Looking forward to the last book!
