This is the 4th book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. Jacqueline and Dante’s story picks up where book 3 ended. This is a fast-paced read with loads of drama, action and suspense. Loads of twists and turns with intense chemistry and sizzling scenes. I loved it!

DARK TEMPTATIONS is the fourth instalment in Charlotte Byrd’s contemporary, adult DARK INTENTIONS romantic, suspense serial focusing on businessman Dante, and journalist/receptionist Jacqueline Archer. DARK TEMPTATIONS should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events and cliff hanger of book three DARK SINS.

NOTE: If you have not read the previous instalments, there may be spoilers in my review.


SOME BACKGROUND: Jacqueline Archer’s mother needed a life saving procedure, and our heroine needed a quick influx of cash. On the recommendation of her best friend Allison, Jacqueline applies for an exclusive membership to the $ex club Redemption, where she will meet businessman Dante Langston. This is their story.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dante and Jacqueline) DARK TEMPTATIONS picks up immediately after the fall-out of perceived betrayal, secrets and lies. Jacqueline and her mother have been mourning the death of her brother Michael but recent information has come to light regarding Michael’s supposed demise. Searching for answers, and struggling with the potential betrayal of the man with whom she was falling in love, Jacqueline reconnected with someone from her past, a reconnection that was about to give fodder to Dante’s need to push our heroine aside but Dante’s life was quickly spiralling out of control, as Jacqueline is caught between head and heart not knowing whom to trust including our story line hero. As Dante begins to reveal the truth about his past, Jacqueline will discover that her relationship with Dante has placed a target on her back, a target she may not be able to outrun.

DARK TEMPTATIONS is a revealing and intriguing story line wherein Dante reveals the struggles and abuse of a young boy growing up in boarding school, and his need to exact revenge against those who did him harm. Learning at the feet of father, both Dante and his brother Lincoln, now find themselves paying for sins of the father, sins that now threaten the people they love. Charlotte Byrd continues to pull the reader into a twisted story of power and control, secrets and lies, family, fraud and catastrophic choices.

What a roller coaster we’ve been on in this series and I actually thought that it was the final installment, NOPE! thank goodness because get so much more complicated in this 4th installment. there’s so much uncertainty around just about everything in this story. We watch as Jacqueline tries to dig into the truth around her brother’s death, and comes to the realization that her brother isn’t dead – so that means that there’s more to the story than anyone knows, and when she learns that Dante not only knows her brother, but knows more about what was going on, well…..the story gets deep!

There’s the side story around Dante, Lincoln and their father – how he’s roped them back into the profession and life that they tried so hard to get away from, and what happens isn’t the outcome that they needed. Instead, they are all put more at risk and that means that the flow of this story is going to be one filled with risk and angst.

There are many things that happen in this story that make you wonder who’s on the up and up. There are things that the police detective does and says that gives me pause because I feel like he shouldn’t have access to things that he does, and Jacqueline’s friend Allison makes the same point, but nothing comes of it. On the other hand, we keep learning more and more things about the past, about what Jacqueline’s mother knew about Michael’s life before he ‘died’ and how they all kept her Jacqueline in the dark.

So we spend the entirety of this story back on the east coast, away from Vasko and that initial goal, and on a roller coaster of emotions. It seems like there’s no bridge that can be built to bring Dante and Jacqueline together, yet through a series of unfortunate events, they are pushed together for an uncertain amount of time.

There’s heat and passion, hatred and emotion. An attempt on a life, the impending entry of a new life and a gun battle. We don’t know what that all means for the future, and we know that plans have to be devised but whatever we thought could happen for their safety is blown out the window in the last scene of this book.

This is book four in The Dark Intentions Series and it continues Jaqueline and Dante's story. Jaqueline is trying to find out what happened to her brother Michael and where he is as that was not his body in the car and she needs some answers especially as she found out that Dante and Michael knew each other. Dante has pushed Jaqueline away to keep her safe because now they all have a price on there head because of who Dante's dad killed and now danger is all around them just waiting to strike but how will they keep each other safe and alive. Omg I couldn't put this book down and I was on the edge of my seat with all that was happening as it was so addictive and i can't wait to read the next book to see what will happen and especially after the cliff hanger ending. Just remember that this book is not a standalone one and you will need to read from book one to get all the background history but it is definitely worth reading. Charlotte Byrd is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention with all the twists and turns in her books and they are definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Dark Temptations book 4 by Charlotte Byrd is the continuous drama in the Dark Intentions Series that is a twisted, gripping story full of heat, tension and action . Once again we are caught up in this phenomenal , dark passionate love story that is full of mystery, secrets, suspense and intrigue that continues to keep you on edge! How will Dante and Jacqueline ever come together when she learns from the police that her brother did not die in the car crash and Dante's connection to Michael? Who should she trust Dante or the Police? Are they strong enough to fight the bond and desire between them before its too late? Will we ever learn the whereabouts of Michael? Now with so many secrets and lies revealed what does this mean for the both of them. Now in order to keep Jacqueline safe Dante once again pushes her away as a price is on all of their heads all due to the man his father killed. With the danger that is ready to strike any moment, will they be able to keep each other safe and who will survive what is headed their way? Now we are left on the edge of our seats with this heart pounding gripping dark journey as we have to wait for the next installment in this dark tale of lies, danger and betrayals by Charlotte Byrd.

Dark Temptations is the forth book in this series, it continues Dante and Jaqueline's story and OMG what a book, full of suspense, truths and action.

This book continues where the last book left off, Dante had dumped Jaqueline for her own safety, and she has returned home after receiving a letter informing her that her brother was still alive and now she needs answers, the police tell her that new dental records prove that the body wasn't her brother and also that Dante and Lincoln knew him, why was he lying to her.

Dante tries to keep away from Jaqueline as there is a price on all of their heads and he doesn't want her involved, but it seems its too late, a couple of incidents that I wont spoil prove that, the only thing left to do now is RUN!

What a brilliant book I couldn't put it down, I cant wait for the next! well done Charlotte on once again keeping us on the edge of our seats.

This is the fourth book of the Dark Intention series and it does not disappoint. It starts where book three ends so if you have not read the first three books, you will need to start there. This is a very fast paced book with lots of intrigue and danger and some smoking hot steam. This is a suspenseful story that keeps you reading to the last page to figure out what is going to happen. Will Dante and Jacqueline figure out where they fit? There are so many secrets and lies. Will Jacqueline trust Dante to keep her and her family safe? Looking forward to seeing where this one ends up.

What a ride we are in with these two. Dante and Jacqueline are trying to figure out where they fit. Secrets and lies are coming to the surface and lives are in danger because of Dante’s father. All Dante wants is a life with Jacqueline, but can she trust him enough to put her life and her family's life in his hands to protect them and keep them safe? Still so many questions. Where is Michael? Who can Jacqueline trust? Dante or the cops? You will be on the edge of your seat with this one. Hang on tight. Great read!

Will the truth set you free? The answer here is NO. Because of Dante past and his father’s strange business deals there is a high price tag their family’s head, and anyone who is connected to them. Through, all of this Jacqueline who loves Dante is unsure what to do with her life. Jacqueline has found out the truth about her brother and needs to see him. The suspense in this story kept me on the edge of my seat. Charlotte Byrd has written another excellent story and I cannot wait for the conclusion. This is my ARC review.

Great fourth book in this series!

Lots of action in this continuing story of Dante and Jacqueline. It is so mixed up. How will they ever get out of it? Things aren’t go well for his or her family. There are lots of things revealed in this book; answers Jacqueline was looking for. She is not happy, not with her brother or Dante. There are so many twists and turns, but it’s easy to keep up. This is an intense and suspenseful love story. I’m so looking forward to the last book in this series. Kudos Charlotte Byrd for keeping your readers immersed in this ongoing story.

Another great addition to the series! The author once again brings strong characters and delivers a fantastic story filled with drama and danger,secrets and lies,suspense and mystery as well as all the twists along the way. This is another delicious piece of Jaqueline and Dante's story. I am seriously hooked on this twisty tale. I could not catch my breath!!
WOW!!!! That is all I can say. Dante and Jacqueline do not disappoint with their push and pull relationship. The chemistry, intrigue and suspense are jumping off the pages. I am on the edge of my seat for the next installment. You must read this story from the very beginning. You won't be disappointed.

Dante has broken up with Jacqueline to keep her safe, but they can't stay away from each other. They and the entire family is in danger. Jacqueline's brother car was found in an accident and a dead body is inside. A car bombing that Jacqueline and Dante barely escape. Danger and suspense will keep you wanting more.
