Geraldine’s memories are spotty at best, and many of them are pure fiction. While her family attempts to solve the puzzle with far too many pieces missing, she’s forced to confront a past life that she can’t remember, a present that’s more fantastic than her wildest made-up stories, and a future that might be better than her most heartfelt fantasies. But as more clues are uncovered, the picture starting to emerge is beyond anything she or her family could have ever imagined.
I love how we are getting new views from different characters. Geraldines story is turning out really good, and I’m getting a good impression that an immortal messed with her brain. So I can’t wait to see that unravel. More and more matings happening, that’s exciting. The Story is progressing well, staying entertaining.
This series keeps me hooked 53 books in! I feel like I know all these special people and genuinely care about them. Start at the beginning, you won’t be sorry!
Dark Memories Submerged KU 326 pgs **** 9/9/21 Geraldine & Shai, Merlin & Ronja, Eleanor & Emmett, Onegus & Cassandra.
4 stars. The parties continued, the last being for Allegra. Everyone began their trips home. Geraldine and Shai had an instant chemistry when they met which their beginning story is good, flows easily. The memory problems that Geraldine has is most interesting and I can’t wait to see if she ever regains them which would be fascinating to learn her history. Merlin and Ronja also had an instant liking to each other and he is so funny and carefree, it’s fun watching him try to change a little bit of the way he normally is just to gain favor with Ronja. Onegus and Cassandra continue on with their romance and attempts for her to transition. She wants to move into the village but won’t do it without Geraldine and she is very hesitant about moving out of their home where she is comfortable with everything. The story isn’t really exciting and maybe a little boring but there is a lot going on so that keeps the flow going. Geraldine’s memory problems are leading me to think she has been compelled not to remember anything after a certain point in her life. The headaches when she tries to remember and other things. I can’t wait to find out if that’s the problem or if she does have a twin sister or if she actually had a head injury early in life
The book count for this series may seem daunting since this is the 53rd book, thankfully the way IT Lucas organizes the series is by having the books are set in 3-4 books in a mini-series that revolves around a main couple. There are often side characters & couples that you will see develop along side the main couple. The series does have an overarching storyline that continues through all the books so it is best to read them in order. These books are also told from the POV of multiple individuals, even many of the side characters or members of previous highlighted coupled. Each chapter clearly identifies who is telling their story so it is easy to follow.
This is the first book for Geraldine & her main man, IT was a little sneak & didn’t give us any hints before release who her man was, so you get to suffer with the rest of us. I have so many questions still & I really cannot see where Geraldine’s story will go. I cannot wait to find out how she became an immortal & what happened to her before her memory loss. There are some moments in this book that I think are big hints & I cannot wait to see how it all plays out. I am also really happy with her her love interest is. I definitely can’t wait for the next book!
Dark Memories Submerged (Children of the Gods Paranormal Romance Book 53) - I.T. Lucas
The mystery of Geraldine’s past continues to baffle the entire community of Immortals. It appears that her mind was thrilled and tampered with way too many times and there will be a lot of repair needed or blocks removed to unravel her past. Cassandra’s is worried for her mother and must also deal with the fact that she has a sister and is an aunt. All the storylines continue to weave in a mesmerizing and addicting way that tests our patience waiting for the next book! This whole series is so awesome it is a must read for anyone who loves these genres and should be read in order.
Good I am intriguin to know who is Geraldine mistery benefactor.
I think that Geraldine is compulse to forget her pass and that give her the pain header . Kian may be putting the Odus feel unwanted because of his suspicious or fiar. And what about Jackie pregnancy. When Eleonor will see that Peter is right for her. I really hope to ANNANI help Ronja to transition. And I will love more and more about this fantastic series. Thanks for the early release.
Of course others are in the story but Cassy becoming immortal and her Mom's Geraldine story is most of what this book is about. The love stories are great. The new baby and the excitement over her is sweet. Looking forward to finding out more about Geraldine's past I'm sure will be in the next book! I love the whole series!
Spoilers. . . . . I really hate cliffhangers. That being said it was really nice to see a quick transition with Cassy. And now I can’t stop thinking about who is causing Geraldine’s memory issues. And who knew quiet Shai had a big ol’ secret. I can’t wait for the book. I need more!!!
I was so immersed in the book that, when it concluded, I was stunned. There is a certain kind of magic that I. t. Lucas weaves pulling in the reader …. pulling you into her magical world of Children of the Gods. Many complex storylines written NOT to confuse the reader but rather written with a clarity that “informs” the reader. Preordered number 54. Cannot wait!
I think Geraldine has been compelled and possibly thralled multiple times and her elusive survivalist husband may be key to discovering the truth. Then there’s the elusive fisherman, plus the compulsive that she must remain home so “he” will know where to find her.
Anyway, I can’t figure out why no one told Geraldine about true love mates. It’s not like she knows all about immortals or anything. She’s just like a new dormant in that aspect, learning everything. Cassy should have told her to explain or whatever how she and Onegus got so serious so fast. She doesn’t know about the bond between immortals. You would think she should be told after being brought to the village that’s full of single immortal males! At least she’d be prepared to know why.
Shai’s secret is crazy considering he works so closely with Kian! And hell, even Onegus! But seriously, what can they do now? Not a thing, so whatever. I mean, he could still get punished but still. 🤷🏽♀️
Cassy is in a better headspace and making progress. They are also making progress on finding Geraldine’s mysterious past. But as usual, it’s being drawn out. It’s crazy how after they know what someone experiences when trying to force a thralled memory to the surface, no one has noticed Geraldine rubbing her head when trying to remember, forgetting that she’s an immortal and shouldn’t really be getting headaches, especially if it’s supposedly a phantom pain. Do any of the guardians get phantoms pains after r growing a limb or being shot, banged over the head, etc? Haven’t heard it to be so. That should be a big clue since compulsion has been recently on the front of their mines since Kalugal, Eleanor and the Emmett’s arrivals into the fold.
Anyway, see my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!
This was a wonderful start to Geraldine and Shai's story! I have been so excited to learn about Cassandra's mother/Roni's grandmother. I did not expect Shai, but I absolutely love his character! It was nice that this story also let us continue to follow Cassy and Onegus. I expected a little more action with her transition due to all of the energy build up, but that didn't' seem to be the case. So now I am more curious as to Cassy and Geraldine's lineage. Initially they think they are close to the source due to their increased healing, but they don't have other aspects of the immortals benefits that the rest do. Just like Roni was hard to induce, maybe they are on a weaker Gods lines?!
I still cannot believe that after 53 books in this storyline that I am still anxiously awaiting the next installment. I used to try to wait for all 3 books in a couples story to be complete before reading, however, there are so many more characters in each book as the series has grown that I don't want to miss the little things outside of just that couple. These books continue to be a great read!
I was able to read an ARC of this story, but the opinions of the story are my own and completely voluntary.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
So happy Shai has met a new woman Geraldine who doesn’t know that she is immortal yet. When she always just lived with the fact that she has a lot of missing memories. I love the new story line with Geraldine and Shai. I see a lot of fun stories coming up. Ronja and Merlin have struck up a friendship. Ronja believes she should be morning her husband who recently passed away however she finds herself drawn to him nonetheless. The two are so cute together. Merlin is the eccentric clan doctor. He is quite funny and she seems to be the prim and proper one. Their a strange couple but they seem to make it work. I’m excited to see where they go. Vlad finally gets to meet his grandmother who happens to be Geraldine’s mother. She has no memory of Vlads mother or any of her previous life. Which causes him more anxiety and frustration. I highly recommend this series it’s absolutely amazing.
I wish it didn't feel like a book version of an episode of General Hospital of Days of Our Lives. The jumping back save forth from Geraldine's story to Ronja and Merlin...to William and the journals... to the China mission...and whatever Kian is dealing with...
Yeah...no.
I am enjoying Geraldine's story and her budding relationship with Shai. I have an idea of what happened to Geraldine's memory...of course I'd never spoil it!...but I can't wait to see if I'm right and who's behind it. (I've narrowed it down to four known people who could be behind it... but there are so many unknowns... which adds to my excitement to get to the next book!)
This book still follows Charlotte but also her mother Geraldine.I still feel it's dragged out just a little to much also these people are very smart and with all the mind control of different sorts why haven't they looked into her mind more after all she is immortal she should heal something more is going on.(I wonder what God line they are from) I thought Bridget logged each dormant to see if they link to the same gods they can't tell what god unless it's there own (then they can't mate) but at least they will know if any dormants are related like roni and Geraldine is.plus I thought they had to check if they are family first before mating. This book just ends just like that Bam.
I found this installment very frustrating. No answers anywhere for anyone. Eleanor still has no mate. Ronja and Geraldine barely eked forward, and the China project was delayed again.
No questions were answered here besides finding out more of Geraldine's story, but it was obvious from nearly the beginning that her issues were due to compulsion. Dragging out this so-called mystery is almost painful.
The ongoing story is still compelling, so I cannot wait for the next book!
Another enjoyable love story. New characters emerge. New romances developing. Families reuniting. Overall, I enjoy this series which reads like a soap opera since I am now on the 54th book in this series. I.T. Lucas keeps us intrigued and wanting more. Can't wait for the next installment. Can't wait to see what Geraldine's real story is and what has caused her all of the memory loss. I feel like someone is thralling her memories away. Merlin making effort to court Ronja. So sweet how he goes about it.
Dark Power Untamed is book 53 in the Children of the Gods series, and the first of the Dark Memories trilogy. It is the story of Geraldine and Shai.
Geraldine has to be told she is Immortal, though she is not totally shocked. She is more shocked she forgot her family. The girl with no memories is paired with the man with a photographic memory. Total odd couple. Not sure about this couple yet, but I will give it 5 stars for the secondary couple.
I think for the first time I was actually able to savor. I read for a bit, stopped then picked it up again. Another great story. I wonder if Geraldine actually has memory issues or if the person who activated her compelled her to forget. Maybe she gets headaches because she’s trying to access memories she was compelled to forget. I look forward to reading more about Merlin.
I have now read this series twice to this point. It is so good! I am always sad when I get to the end of a book and realize I will have to wait for the next one to continue. I feel like I’m leaving friends behind or something. That could say something about me? Or this is just a really riveting read. Either way you should read it. The first time around it was my covid lockdown therapy. Second time I just wanted to make sure I hadn’t missed anything.
Cassies mum Geraldine is an immortal how she became that way we don't know YET but this is only part1 in their story.
Shai and Geraldine spotted each other and instantly felt the attraction burn between them but Geraldine and her memories she feels like she can't move into the village yet.
Let's hope meeting her daughter she's forgot will help her move forward
Dark Memories Submerged by I T Lucas. I love the way I T Lucas keeps all the main characters alive in each book whilst adding new ones. How did Geraldine loose her memories. Too many other characters to mention. Every book that I T Lucas writes is an absolute joy to read.
Every time I read one of Ms Lucas books I find anew one I love, and I keep thinking Well the next one will probably not be as good as this one and I am always wrong! If you have not read this series then you need to read it and if you are not into it then I am sorry but you you just don’t deserve these books! Sorry but that is just the way I feel!
I just love all of these books. Can't put them down. Can't wait for the next book to come out. I love how it's a mix of the different people, but keeps with the story line. It all rolls out great. It all plays out like a movie in my mind and can't wait to read more. Great job.
I hated for this particular story to end, it was just getting good and more was to be revealed and it was the end. Can't wait for the next book even though this series dragging on more than I thought it would when I started it. I'm enjoying every book in the meantime.
When I first read the first few books of this series I had no idea I would be continuing on a relationship with all the characters and new ones keep coming in that captivate my imagination for what happens next? I am continually excited for the next one to go live! Keep them coming I.T. Lucas!❤
53 books in 10 weeks might mean I'm obsessed with these characters. I love the historical and religious aspects as explained by the clans storyline. There are so many elements taking place at once that I couldn't put the books down. The sex scenes are red hot and the characters are well formed. I can't wait for the next book!
I.T.Lucas continues to invent characters who draw you in. The interconnects between mates and extended family is always evolving and each book makes you wish she could write faster. I'm so enjoying this series and I hope she continues it for a long time. Read through Kindle Unlimited .
Can’t put these books down. Read the last three in one day so didn’t get anything else done. If you like romance and mystery with an immortal twist these are for you.
The many characters are woven together in an exciting challenge. Who belongs? Will they make it? Never, ever disappointed in this author - a Master of intimacy within the story theme. Enjoy
So love this series and look forward to each and every single one. This one did not disappoint and I’m curious to see what happened next. Geraldine is a mystery I can’t wait to find out what happened to her.
