I am the king of gods. The one who sits on the throne of Mt. Olympus. The God of the sky, lightning, and justice. But I fought tooth and nail to get here.
When my father, Cronus, tried to devour my siblings and me, I escaped in search of new allies and a way to avenge them. I found them in the faces of two goddesses who swore me allegiance by joining my guild.
This is the story of how I built my guild hall on top of Mt. Olympus. How we grew powerful and what we had to do to achieve it. This is my story.
This went from pretty good for the first half to insanely boring for the next 1/4 of the book. Image the greek gods through the lense of a litrpg book. They have levels and upgrades. Think of the pantheon as a guild. Followers give divine points. That sounds kind of awesome. The first half is a retelling of how Zeus gets away from his father Cronus before he could be eaten. While he is escaping he meets up with Aphrodite the goddess of love who agrees to help him. The look for a place to be safe and they go to Mount Olympus to claim it as his place of power. All that was great. Then comes the settlement building Probably not going to continue the series.
Far too much emphasis on skills and items, with little care about characters. Simple enough idea for the characters, but no creativity given to it. The whole thing comes off as full and obvious. This was a flashy idea lacking any substance.
Cracking concept. A really great story with perfectly crafted peaks and troughs to take you on an emotional roller-coaster of awesomeness. Can't nt wait to see how this one develops!
I really like the point of view in this book from a "God's" perspective. Also like the use of the Greek mythology gods. Looking forward to "Artemis". Good job.
