Loved Toby and Fia (such a unique name - immediately fell for it). The way they protected each other, cared about one another and never let the other one down or quit whenever things got tough.
The chemistry was off the charts, and the emotional bond was superb - you already might have guessed I am a sucker for the latter.
Although Fia comes from unconventional circumstances, Toby is with her all the way. And I loved him just for that.
Fia was a badass character in herself - I adored her confidence, her badassery, her hair as well (hehe), and how she meshed well with Toby and how they were so good for each other.
This novel was literally the best, and I loved it to the deepest core of my heart. Can't wait to read more by CB.

This one took me a moment to get into b/c I felt like it wasn't making sense.
Why did you feel the need to do something to prove to your father that you didn't need him, when you were gone for years at that point. And/or why would you go and visit if you hated him that much?
Then we find out he has power and is a crime lord but still.... why all of a sudden does he need her dead? 🤔
The chemistry between the MCs- very insta love. I didn't feel the build up of sexual tension there.
Also, why would she willingly go to the wedding? Did I miss something? I wish we could've read the convo between them that talked her into that and after abducting her, made her feel safe enough to stay and ask if they needed their laundry cleaned. 😆
Not sure what was going on with the best friends either? Made it seem like they were really into each other and then were shy around each other?
Then second half was a sex fest lol, which don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good smutty book, but kinda felt random at times.
How the F did he happen to just have a butt plug with him?!?!? 😂

I honestly can’t believe this is CB Moon’s debut book. She has done amazing & I can’t wait for book 2. I am so in love with these characters already and can’t wait for more from them.
This book is set in Glasgow, Scotland and has some Scottish phrases in the book, which makes it even more enjoyable. I love Fia & Toby’s story so much, all the drama, twists & chemistry within the book, I just couldn’t put it down.
I am all for the darker side of books and boy this is dark. If you’re not into dark romance with triggers then this book won’t be for you.

Destroy You is CB Moons debut novel and book 1 in the Glasgow Empire series. It follows Gothia, or Fia, as she tries to escape the crutches or her drug lord father. However, this sorry excuse for a father won’t give up and hires Toby, who previously was Fia’s high school bully and tormented turned gang leader (unbeknownst to said father), to kidnap her on a job. Toby has no clue who he’s going after, though.
Their relationship develops really quickly and they learn they have a common goal, after some hiccups. Take down Paul at all cost.
By the end of the book, Fia is ready to grab her psychotic side by the horns. She experienced abuse as a child and is ready to unleash herself with Tobes by her side. The cliffhanger in this book left me really intrigued for the next book. I thought these characters were really fun and i loved the side characters. This was a good and steamy debut novel!

What a debut novel. I bloody loved it! Fia is so fiery and does not back down. The chemistry she has with Toby really develops throughout the story. The humour, the hatred and the heat is all rolled into this🔥. Can we talk about the side characters?! Ethan and Stefan are hilarious and I’m here for all their banter with the other two. It’s a brilliant page turner from the very start and I can’t wait to see where book 2 goes!!

CB Moon looks like a mild mannered Scottish lass, her book, let me just say, show's she is anything but!
We follow the characters Fia and Toby and enemies to lovers is a good description for the start of their relationship. I love how they were brought together and the twist their story takes.
Told from the point of view of the two main characters, I think is perfect for this story.
The ending, well, that is a humdinger of an ending, I'm not going to lie. I'm still thinking about it days later.
I look forward to watching CB Moons career as a writer unfold. She is one author to watch.

Okay CB Moon I see you babe!!! This debut novel reads like this author has been writing for years. Fia is a badass that is feisty and could give zero F’s about who you are or where you come from unless you’re her BFF Ethan who I absolutely adore. Everyone seriously needs an Ethan in their lives. Toby while he was a douche canoe and made Fia’s life a living hell back when they were younger but he is most definitely not that guy anymore. This man fell for our girl HARD AF and just didn’t realize it. The chemistry these two have with each other is so FN HOT.. The interactions between him and Stefan are hilarious and I am here for it. I really hope we get more from them or let them have their own story because I needs it in my life. This authors words had me from the very first page all the way through until the ending and let me tell you that ending WTF I needs me some answers ASAP. Fantastic story and I cannot wait for the next book!!! Ma’am you have a fan for life!!

It's always a risk trying a book from a new author, will you like their writing style, their character development, the way they build the scene... But with this first book from C.B Moon the risk is worth it. What an explosion into the world of writing from this Author. A steamy and violent read that takes you from moments of lust filled passion to moments of vengeful blood curdling violence. If you're looking for a quick read and aren't afraid of either, definitely give it a go.
The characters are well thought out and for a short book, actually get very well developed throughout the story - I felt like I knew them pretty well by the end, something that often gets missed when the word count is shorter. The Scottish use of language and staying true to its roots is great, making for a much more gritty and realistic setting. In places it felt like the story moved a little fast and could have done with more build up and more development especially the relationship between the main characters, but that doesn't detract from the overall storyline at all. The steamy scenes are well written, you're totally there in the moment with the characters and as violence starts to pepper the story, you can almost feel the adrenalin building. The final scenes in the book really ramp up violence and are not for the faint hearted, but that ending... Well I am ready for Book 2!

So I DNF this At 12%. I probably will try to finish later. But the thing that made this a DNF it was a little cringy for me. Like every time the got dressed we got the description every outfit like they do on Wattpad , I get if it’s a few times don’t make it all the time. Also where she left because her dad was a piece of shit. But then “I’m gonna do a job for him to prove I don’t need him? That doesn’t make sense to me. I’ll try to finish another time.

As a debut book, this is a cracker! I loved following the story from the points of view of each of the main characters.
For me the quick hate to love flip was a little too quick but it definitely didn’t take away from the story itself.
As a Scottish person, I absolutely loved seeing Scottish terms and mannerisms authentically written throughout the story.

Loved this debut novel by C.B. Moon!!! It was absolutely incredible.
Everything I want and love about dark romance all mashed up into one. Toby and Fia were hot, like HAVE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ON SPEED DIAL HOT.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this book. Their love was everything I enjoy reading about, and the plot was fast paced and kept me wanting more!!!

Destroy you By C.B Moon is an amazing read.
The world building and character building made for great chemistry between Fia and Toby the two main characters from absolute hatred to firey hot passion.
Being set predominantly in Glasgow allows them to have very cheeky but funny personalities and keeps it true to the area.
I cannot wait for the rest of the series to see how Fia and Toby grow and how they move on with the bombshell from the end of book 1.

Wow! Following the story of Fia and Toby from both points of view, a story of how their hate for each other turned to love for each other. Sex, drugs and cheekiness all rolled into one. A thrilling read from page one and I cannot wait to see what’s next in store for Fia and Toby. A great first book and am sure many more great books to follow 😃

I have to admit that this isn't the genre of book that I normally read. I received an arc copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the authenticity of the Glasgow dialect throughout the book which definitely immersed the reader into the world of Fia and Toby. The characters were well written and believable and you understand more about how they end up being the people that they are as the story unfolds. Some shocking story turns are explaining as you read and you find yourself rooting for Fia and Toby. The story tells quite clearly of the drug culture of Glasgow and the horrific things that happen due to that.
There is more than a small amount of graphic sexual content so if you do not like that then thus is probably not the book for you. It's not normally something I seek out but it showed the relationship atc of the characters which as another reviewer has said may have been a little quick to change from enemies to lovers however was still quite believable.
The massive bombshell at the end of the book definitely leaves you wanting more.

**Revenge has never been sweeter**
This is the debut novel from author C.B Moon and it BLEW. ME. AWAY!
Fia is our FMC and I love how strong she was throughout the story, even when faced with overwhelming anger and pain, she still holds her head up high and fights through it. Toby is the boy who bullied her growing up but now, with a twist of fate, they find themselves back together, and are the epitome of “enemies to lovers.” I loved the interactions between these two and how they end up feeding off of each other.
The author’s story telling is amazing and I truly appreciate how the characters were so well developed. This book has it all; nail biting suspense, riveting excitement, steaminess to the millionth degree, and explosive torture like I’ve never read before!! And that cliffhanger!!! Holy gods…..it was everything, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!!!

There is surprising darkness about this one. At first, I thought it was not that dark; the characters made me laugh, their internal dialogues and gang/party lifestyles were so fun to read.
They had both had rubbish lives, and at one point, they didn't get along at all, but when they met again, sparks flew, and there was instant chemistry between Toby and Fia. Then the ending happened, lol; what glorious psychos these two are, especially Fia. I loved their don't give a f*ck attitude and the way they fell in love so quickly. I mean, when tomorrow isn't promised and given the lifestyles they lead, it certainly isn't; why not grab that love and hold on tight to it. I can't wait to see what these two get up to next. Still have visions of the mole rat in my head, which is making me chuckle.
A little shout out needs to go to the secondary characters too, I just loved Stefan and Ethan.

I love a good enemies to lovers story!! This one is a rollercoaster ride of crazy!! Fia is one heck of a FMC!! Toby never stood a chance. I love the development of their relationship throughout this story. Although tumultuous they have strong feelings for one another!! The writing is well done in the writer’s native dialect Glaswegian!! I love when authors do this, making me take the journey through their eyes instead of dumbing it down. This is C.B. Moon’s debut novel a an awesome start to the “Glasgow Empire Series”. I’m not going to spoil the ending but I am still reeling!! I can wait for the next story in the series!! Especially if she gives us more about FIA!! Read this book!! You won’t be able to put it down!!

If this book is an actual portrayal of how much people drink in Scotland... They are in desperate need of liver donors. Written by a Scottish author with Scottish English was a bit of adjustment but it worked. There's an immersing feeling when sinking into the world. There's a small dictionary in the front that covers your questions on words and anything else is pretty easily revealed by context clues (or, in some cases explained by the characters in text).
The characters are interesting and unique. I'm just not 100% sold on some of the scenes written from Toby's perspective but overall I think it works as a book. Fia is definitely emotional and that works for the plot. There's a pretty typical gay best friend theme and I'm hoping they get their own book to do justice.

Destroy is C.B Moon's debut novel, and what an introduction it was.
Fia and Toby experience a fast paced wirl wind romance that takes them both by suprise. This is an enemies to lovers romance and I really enjoyed seeing Fia's character develop and her inner psycho come out.

This is CB Moon’s debut novel and you would not believe that after reading it. She knows exactly how to pull you into the story and have you fall for the characters.
I adored the female main character, Fia. Her point of view pages constantly made me laugh. She had a horrible childhood but she did her best to escape her family and childhood bullies. They made her into who she is today: a fierce and strong woman.
In a twist of fate, Fia’s horrible father sends her childhood bully to fetch her (aka kidnap) and bring her back home. Unbeknownst to her father, the bully hates him as well and there is a connection between him and Fia. It just gets better from there.
It’s a very fast burn and book but it’s a good story. Plus, the playlist is great too. Looking forward to more from this baby author.

Phew! CB Moon brings in it this debut!
Fia and Toby were an addicting couple to read, and not only that, the antics of their best friends will keep you entertained along the way. Reading about the Glaswegian crime ring was intriguing and I loved that the author kept true to the language and used proper terms for the locale.

Brilliantly down to earth writing, no fancy mumbo jumbo - easy to read good plot with an epic twist! I was reading the whole thing in the accent as per the first few pages explaining Scottish terms - which is a brilliant addition!

What an amazing debut novel! It’s one of those books where you are totally invested in the characters and you don’t want to put the book down. Fia and Toby are fantastic protagonists, who hook you into the story line.
It’s told from both Fia and Toby’s prospectives with the ending leaving you desperate for the next book!

August 23, 2021Intriguing debut novel by CB Moon. The story follows Fia and Toby. They fall pretty quickly for each other, even tho both are adamant that they don’t ever catch feels. It was an interesting read, since it’s written in Scottish terminology. Fia seems like an innocent just want to live her life women, until the end when she lets her psychotic side out. Definitely wasn’t expecting that from her.

For a debut book, I'd say it's a pretty solid start!
I love the idea of school bully turns adult lover. Fia and Toby seem to both have an equal fucked up childhood which does explain away some of the bullying behaviour.
The insta connection was a little disappointing, I would of liked more fight. Fia is definitely capable of giving as good as she gets so I wished she had made Toby really work for it.
The steam 🔥🔥 absolutely on point!
"I get up, pull my dress down and with jelly legs, attempt the cum run (you know EXACTLY what run I'm talking about, uh huh) as quickly as I can."
There's alot more story to be told and I'm eagerly awaiting book 2 to see whether answers are given (and whether certain BFF's get it together officially!).
And if you take any advice at all from Fia's inner monologue then it must be this... "I guess lube really is a bums best friend."
