At thirty-five and single, I’m tired of the dating game. Tired of men who look at me and say, “You’d be prettier if you shed a few pounds.”
There’s only one man I want a future with — my grouchy friends with benefits, Nolan. But he’s adamant about keeping things casual.
All that changes when one night we get careless, and those pink lines show up on the pregnancy test months later.
Nolan wants to do right by me. He wants to give me what I’ve been searching for, but I’m pretty sure he’s only doing it out of obligation. It’s not like the bearded brewmaster loves me like I love him.
Accidentally in Love is a small-town accidental pregnant holiday romance featuring a burly bearded brewmaster and an hopeless romantic high school english teacher.
Danica Flynn is a marketer by day, and a writer by nights and weekends. AKA she doesn’t sleep! She is a rabid hockey fan of both The Philadelphia Flyers and the Metropolitan Riveters. When not writing, she can be found hanging with her partner, playing video games, and reading a ton of books.
Even though you can see it's a 3 stars, it was a good 3 stars. I can see myself re-reading this without a doubt! It was fun, light-hearted, and low on the angst. While there is a lot of miscommunication and some decisions from the heroine might annoy you a bit, I think it's so clear these two are perfect together that they will feel like a small bump in their road to happily ever after.
I loved that it's an accidental pregnancy romance, you know I'm such a huge fan of this trope!! I also adore it's sort of a marriage of convenience romance too? It has friends with benefits, it has always been her, they call themselves "baby" in such an adoring way, steamy, and it is in fact a holiday romance too. This book has everything you need if you're looking for a low on the stakes type of romance that will provide a good and fun time.
I finished this but I really shouldn't have, as by the end I was swearing out loud. Tediously repetitive, really flabby, a lot of shrieking and a lot of inconsistency - "We live in such a small town, everyone knows everyone's business!", "I didn't know my ex wife was married to your boss!". I think it's trying to be grumpy/sunshine but there's no sunshine.
Words I would rather bleach from my eyeballs: "Baby-trap", "Beard-ride".
Avery & Nolan have been friends with benefits for the past 2-years, never putting a label on what they have. Nolan is divorced and doesn’t want to fail another woman and Avery doesn’t want to force anyone to be with her, putting them both at an impasse.
After one careless night, Avery ends up pregnant and Nolan wants nothing more than to marry Avery and take care of their little family. Avery knows her heart is with Nolan, but she’s scared that he’s only with her out of obligation & not love…
Accidentally in Love by Danica Flynn is book 1 in the MacGregor Brewing Company series. It’s an accidental pregnancy romance with a touch of holiday spirit. This was a cute romance with plenty of steamy times, but I had issues with the two MCs’ communication problems. For them being 35+, I felt their personalities were very immature for their ages. I still did enjoy the story overall & am always willing to try new to me authors! 3/5 stars
This is the first book in the MacGregor Brothers Brewing Company series. It's a friends to lovers accidental pregnancy romance. They drove me crazy throughout most of the book. They were friends with benefits for two never realizing that they had feelings for each other and quite honestly what they had was a relationship. When Avery finds out she's pregnant Nolan decides that he wants to be a part of it all. He wants to marry Avery because he loves her, Avery's convinced that he's with her because she trapped him. These two are a hot mess. Steamy story. Can't wait to read book two.

I love the Friends to Lovers trope. Danica Flynn’s “Accidentally in Love” has the big, burly guy who was burned by his ex-wife and doesn’t believe he’ll find love again. And then you have the curvy girl who wants to find love and goes on date after date only to be discouraged. She and her friend have an FWB situation but have an oopsie moment, which results in a pregnancy. But under all that, they genuinely have feelings for each other. I love it!!! But it’s bumpy. And I love that, too. The spice is very good, and it’s Christmas-themed.
Beasties to friends w/benefits, to secret lovers afraid the other did not feel the same. Then to unexpected future parents, then husband & wife, true love & a long awaited HEA. Enjoyed the read, mostly fun, a bit funny at times, but insecurities kept creeping in ... preventing hidden true feelings from being shared openly. Worth the read. (Reviewed by Lin)
Ms. Flynn does undeclared love very well. So good, in fact, that it's aggravating to read. Let me just give a variant on the song When a Man Loves a Woman...for God's sake, tell her.
Communication, people. There is nothing so frustrating as a stubborn man and woman convinced they are not deserving of each other. Add to that they just wallow in their misery without expressing their true feelings to the person they love. Instead, they tell their siblings and friends how they feel. These two are 35 and 40 years old and now have a surprise baby on the way.
Avery soothes the grumpy side of Nolan and Nolan soothes Avery's anxieties. Perfect. Right? Enter in insecurities and baby brain and you have a ridiculous and long road of fighting about stupid things and having great make-up sex. This couple has been hooking up for the past two years and is secretly in love with each other.
Nolan is adorable and very giving. In fact, he doesn't hesitate to step up and take responsibility for the baby. After a bad divorce, he vowed to never marry again, but when he met Avery, that all changed. His main problem is words. He has a difficult time expressing his feelings in words which is important to any woman. However, he makes up for it in his beautiful and loving actions such as celebrating his least favorite holiday of Christmas only because Avery adores it. And let me tell you, any woman would move heaven and earth to grab hold of such a wonderful expectant father. His love of the baby just made me melt.
Avery is anxious about her pregnancy and doesn't want to baby-trap the man she loves. Her hormones and crying jags are out of control, but no matter how hard she unnecessarily pushes Nolan away, he proves he is there for her no matter what. Avery just seems so childish to me and needed to just tell Nolan how she felt. After all, she knew he had a problem with words. Despite the long wait, Avery and Nolan finally work it all out, get married, and have a long-deserved HEA.
The supporting characters of Gemma, Declan, and Avery's dad, Sal are great additions as they give good advice and shoulders to cry on.
Overall, I thought this steamy love story was a nice read. If you like unplanned pregnancy tropes with two main characters who are a hot mess, give this book a try.
Thank you to Ms. Flynn for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
Avery is a small-town girl; she is older and still looking for that perfect guy. She is blunt and confident and doesn't put up with jerks. She likes food and drinks and doesn't care what others think. She has a history with some of the town guys. I love how candid she is in her remarks.
Nolan works at the local brewery; he is tall, hairy, and handsome like a lumberjack. He is also candid and naughty in his speech but comedic too. He is protective and has a friend with benefits thing going with Avery. It seems like he doesn't want a serious relationship. They certainly have a history, and we get an idea of this from his point of view. In chapter two, as things get steamy, he hints at where this book might go.
Surprise, one night of an oops totally complicates this relationship and the friendship they have. But how will it all play out? This book will complexly surprise you as these two people navigate uncharted waters, miscommunications, and even love languages. Their big oops surprise turns out to be a good thing, and this book surprisingly turned into an endearing holiday romance. Don't be surprised with the steamy scenes, and there are plenty. This book couldn't have ended better, and I loved the short-time jumps and the epilogue.
Need a holiday hallmark to read? Look no further; this friends-to-lovers holiday romance will surprise you and have you dreaming of a sexy grouchy lumberjack brewmaster. I really liked how the author told this story without a ton of outside drama. There was some character drama like their communication issues, their own insecurities, and of course, the oops surprise but nothing crazy heartbreaking or extremely dramatic. This book was an endearing, sweet, and fun read. I loved the candid characters and conversations. The sexy growly man who learned to express himself. The charming teacher who brought out the best in people and, of course, all the steamy scenes in this book.
A grumpy gruff bearded lumberjack brewmaster. And sunshine high school English teacher that adores Christmas. Sounds like the absolute perfect book to me. First off, Nolan and Avery have some seriously hot chemistry. I immediately knew they would be perfect together. I was a few chapters in and I was shaking my kindle at Nolan and Avery. They really could not get out of each other's way and find their way together. Nolan grew up fast taking on the responsibility of parent and brother. He and his brother opened a brewery where he is the head brewmaster. I loved this setting. It was clear that Nolan loved the brewery and I enjoyed all of the beer descriptions! In a sense Avery also takes on the role of caretaker to those around her as well. She has a quirky sister that she is always looking out for. Avery is a high school teacher that adores her students and the content that she teaches. And she loves to read! When a surprise pregnancy catches both Nolan and Avery off guard but also enables them to have everything they had ever wanted. Love and a family. While they each are unsure of how the other feels because their “arrangement” was meant to be casual, but a baby isn’t casual. There were a lot of big feelings in this book and I loved that Flynn showed us that even though words aren’t being spoken it is the actions of people that show their true feelings. If you are looking for a fun holiday read, love a grumpy lumberjack hero I definitely think you need to pick this book up!
Are you looking for a slow burn romance? Then “Accidentally in Love” is not for you. Danica Flynn brought the spice and heat in the book all wrapped up nicely in a friends with benefits to lovers story set during Christmas time.
Avery and Nolan have been friends with benefits for the last two years. Avery is an English teacher and Nolan is the co-owner and brewmaster at the brewery he owns with his brother. One night leads to a surprise that neither were planning but both are happy about it. The two have been secretly in love with each other for years but are scared to admit their feelings.
Nolan is a bearded, grumpy, beer making delight. I love grumpy guys in my romance books and he checked all my boxes on what I like. Avery is a sweet woman who loves her family fiercely and will do anything she can to help them. Their relationship developed nicely and didn’t feel forced. They are super hot together and all of their adult times were sizzling. The two desperately need to work on their communication skills but I did like that part. It felt realistic because so many couples go through that. Nolan and Avery have amazing chemistry and you could feel it as you read their story. I hope we get more from the “MacGregor Brothers” series. I see a lot of potential in the series and a lot of stories that could come from it.
This is book one in The McGregor Brother's Brewing Company Series and it is Avery and Nolan's story and what a great start to a new series. Avery and Nolan are best friend's and they have a friend's with benefits arrangement but when two link lines show up and Avery realised that she is pregnant she knows that she will have to tell Nolan and to her surprise he wants to do the right thing but Avery doesn't want him to do it out of obligation or him feeling that it is the right thing to do and she also doesn't want to loose his friendship as it is important to her which puts them in a very sticky situation as she is also in love with him but she can't let him find out as she could loose everything so where does that leave them. I loved the characters and storyline in this book and I couldn't put it down as it was such a great read and the chemistry between Avery and Nolan was so strong, hot and intense that you could feel it sizzling of the pages but will they be able to get over there differences to get there happy ending that they both deserve or will they not talk about there feelings and miss out on something special together only time will tell what the outcome will be for them and if they have a future together. I definitely recommend you read this book as it was so well written and definitely worth reading.
I have no other words to sum up my feelings on this book other than, my goodness I needed this in my life right now.
Avery is a gorgeous, self-assured school teacher in her kid theories and I loved that even tho she admits she's not technically plus sized, she still struggles with her body issues. And that is so relatable in a character tbh.
Nolan is just the most hunky big, bearded, beer-brewing Bushman around and such a grinchy grump. He's so yummy 😋
I loved the easy romantic relationship between them both as well as the later sexual tension that came from their little accident.
I've not read an accidental pregnancy trip before but honestly loved it and don't see why people give it such a bad rap. It was sweet, steamy, sexy, and downright fun to read.
If you're into steamy romances and looking for something a tad christmassy for December, look no further than this book. It is seriously so wonderful.
Accidentally in Love kicks off a new series about the MacGregor brothers who own and run a brewery. Nolan is the brewmaster, burnt by a previous marriage but deeply in love with Avery, a schoolteacher in their small town. She, too, has been in love with Nolan for years. Instead of talking to each other, they each suffer their feelings in silence, convinced the other is only interested in a friends-with-benefits scenario. A surprise pregnancy changes eveything, because they both want to give the baby-to-come a happy family life.
This is a fun read but the trust issues and mistaken beliefs were repeated way too often so that Avery and Nolan came across as really immature and even a bit childish at times. The setting for Christmas was great and there were some steamy scenes and great secondary characters who will hopefully get their own story soon.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book started off really cute and I think that’s really why I gave it 2 stars.
This book was so repetitive and the drama and manufactured angst was UNENDING. Wow. Avery being sorry for crying or being hormonal in every single chapter from her POV. Then Nolan being all “idk how to express myself so I just shut down” for almost every chapter of his. It got SO OLD. The plot crawled like a snail across a quicksand pit.
This book was longer than it should have been, because they kept harping on the same issues every chapter. “I love him but he doesn’t love me because he’s broken and can never love again.” “I love her but she doesn’t want to be with me, she just wants me for my big d**k”. Then after she got pregnant they both thought the other person only wanted to be together because of the baby and not because they had real feelings for each other.
It was too much. It started sooo good, but just went downhill as it went on.
Nolan and Avery have been friends for years. They also have been secretly hooking up for 2 of those years. One night they get a bit drunk and forget to use protections and BOOM.....Pregnant! This is the story of 2 people who secretly love each other but refuse to communicate there feelings and must navigate a pregnancy in a small town.
This is a fun past paced read that i read in one sitting. Avery is a high school teacher and Nolan is part owner of a brewery/restaurant. They have serious trust issues and do not know how to communicate very well. Id id find a few times where it felt that the author repeated herself and I felt the characters could be childish at times. I enjoyed the fun Christmas theme in the story and their is an HEA. Overall I enjoyed the book and it gave me all the feels. This book gets 4 fun, Christmas stars.
If you’re looking for an enjoyable friends to lovers read focused around the holidays this book is for you!
Generally I don’t run toward the accidental pregnancy books but this one was very well written and didn’t make me cringe as some do. This couple has a history of being friends with benefits- neither of them willing to admit their feelings. One night everything changes.
The author does a great job keeping the reader engaged as these two navigate the situation all while learning to communicate, trust and love completely. Avery is a strong FMC who is relatable to so many of us, Nolan is the sexy grouchy lumberjack type man who we all secretly like to look at 😉. Together they are really great. I enjoyed the supporting characters and look forward to more from this group.
I love an accidental pregnancy romance. I loved the added complications of having to figure out what is “baby” love and what is “true” love. I was very excited to dive into this new series by Danica Flynn.
Accidentally In Love is a unique take on the accidental pregnancy trope. It was handled so well. I loved that characters were mature and thoughtful. Both characters are real body rep and I loved that even more. Nolan with his barreled chest and thick beard. I seriously loved him! The progression to their HEA was fantastic. I highly recommend this small-town romance. I am a huge craft beer lover and this his all the notes for me!
Avery has been hooking up with Nolan for two years, they do not date, he does not want a serious relationship, his ex has soured him. She tries dating various guys but none ever materialize to a second date. One night they get a little sloppy, and next you know she is pregnant, Now she has to tell Nolan.
Nolan told Avery his did not want to get married again after what happened with his ex-wife. But he is not really honest as over the past two years the only woman he has slept with has been Avery.
This is the first book I have read by the author, and I loved Avery and Nolan's story, they are just what each other needed.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Avery and Nolan have had a mutually beneficial relationship, but keep their true feelings hidden. It was always friendship and sex without ever crossing the line they agreed on. An unplanned pregnancy is going to shake things up though. Nolan is a stand up guy, who has a big heart. Avery is focused but sometimes on things she shouldn't be. She has insecurities but finds that safe and secure feeling with Nolan. It is what she needs but will not acknowledge. They have their share of obstacles but finally commit to the feelings that have grown through the years. It was a good holiday romance with a baby changing things up

Avery has been dating a lot, including a guy she met for first time to go to the Fall Festival, a blind date who told her she needed to lose weight to be prettier...ticked her off, so went to beer stand and met her friend Nolan, one of the local brewery owners...she has been having secret affair with Nolan for quite a while...friends with benefits, but she wanted regular relationship, wedding and family, not to be just a booty call...but tonight, they forgot the condom and she ends up pregnant...but will Nolan step up to be the father the baby and she needs...you will need to read the story to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
This is a good accidental pregnancy story. I love the characters and the plot is interesting and intriguing. It is the first story in the "MacGregor Brothers Brewing Company" series. This is a small town romance about Avery and Nolan. Nolan is a divorced brew master that is skeptical about marriage. Avery is a teacher who seems okay with a friends with benefits relationship. That is until she ends up pregnant. He wants to do right by her but she wants him to want her and not just because she is pregnant. This is a nicely developed story that is sweet and steamy with some definite miscommunication issues between the characters.
This is an engaging, sweet, holiday friends to lovers romance. Avery & Nolan have been friends with benefits for the past 2-years, they thought they hid it from everyone. Avery is so scared he only wants to be with her out of obligation. They both had trouble truly expressing their feelings, it can be a bit frustrating, but worth getting through. All of the characters added to the story, each of them was very relatable. I am not one for a surprise pregnancy book, but I enjoyed their journey. I recommend you give it a try, especially if you like holiday romances. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Avery and Nolan have been friends with benefits for two years and are both secretly in love with each other. Even family and friends can see it, and they would see it too, if only they would express their feelings out loud when they are together. But both suffer from insecurities. And then Avery gets pregnant…..
I really enjoyed this Christmas story. I liked the main and secondary characters as well as the storyline. Lovely epilogue.
I received an arc of this book and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
A nice holiday read between friends to lovers that warmed my heart with their easy and perfect chemistry. Nolan and Avery have a friends with benefits relationship due to Nolan not wanting to be in a failed relationship again. Even as things are mutual between the two they secretly harbor feelings for each other. When an unexpected pregnancy is revealed, it will test how much they truly want to make things work to build the relationship and family that they’ve both been wanting.

This is a well written friends to lovers romance between Nolan and Avery. They have a hot chemistry and relationship with "benefits". Until she finds out she's pregnant. He loves her and wants to marry her and be involved be she thinks he's just feeling trapped. The author does a great job building the story and painting her scenes perfectly. She brings tons of emotion to the story and had me glued to the pages reading. It moves fluidly and is a terrific read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Loved this "friends to lovers" romance with thirty five year old Avery and forty year old Nolan. They have had a two year friends with benefits relationship because he never wanted to get serious again after the disaster of his marriage then divorce all the while she has been going on blind dates all along. One night they have a slip up and she ends up pregnant and he wants to marry her but she does not want him to feel forced into marriage even thought he has owned her heart all along. Can Nolan convince Avery that he does love her and wants to marry her baby or not?
