Size doesn't matter. Or does it?

I thought I found the guy. You know, that guy? The one that makes your knees go weak with one look? I found him. And then he dropped his pants and I climbed out the window. Oh, not because the size of his anaconda scared me, not at all. But because I didn't want to show him mine.

Life isn't easy when your trouser snake is more of a trouser tadpole.

I've got a plan to fix that, though. Aunt Rosy is hosting a couple's competition. All I have to do is win it, grab the prize money and get surgery to make myself bigger. The only problem? The guy Aunt Rosy's match-making app chooses as my partner for this competition.
It's the anaconda guy.

And I don't think I'm over him.

This novel is a contemporary MM romantic comedy of approximately 70,000 words. Buy if you're into books featuring second chances, friends to lovers (with some complications!), reality TV, cute pets and a good bit of insanity.

📖 fun story that worked perfectly for me as a palette cleanser. it was also silly & ridiculous but that was exactly what i was looking for, i mean i definitely didn't expect it to be a poetic novel with a deep meaning - especially with that cover which portrays the silly-goofyness of this story well.

🦦 speaking of the cover, i must address the ferret situation bc of two things: 1) when i first saw the cover i got a bit scared/confused bc i thought this might be a ferret shifter book??💀 i mean nothing wrong with ferret shifters but um, the cover might be a bit misleading or is it just a me thing that my mind went to ferret shifters??🤡 anyhow, 2) there was an actual "normal" ferret pet in this book who was super adorable & fun, also other animals (non-shifters!) who made this story more colorful🤭 i loved them!

🤏🍆 no shame, the reason i picked this book had to do with an MC with a micro/tiny pp & it did not disappoint. it was a huge (huh) part of the story bc of Tiger's insecurity about it. i absolutely loved how Daniel dealt with the whole situation and boosted Tiger's confidence. i just loved these two goofballs together, they were meant for each other!

💞 second chance - they had history but there were some secrets with some secret identity situations...

🔥 medium(ish) burn - they didn't do the deed until halfway but there were tension & chemistry & fun moments that lead to hot moments

🛏 their forced proximity definitely added to the tension with the delicious only-one-bed trope on top

🎥 game show-like challenges were fun and over the top and ridiculous and were these ppl okay and there were clichés and idek what i was reading but it was fun?? i think lol

💔 third act breakup - i understood why it happened & in some books i love it but here they could've gone without that "drama" imo. also it made the story drag for me and it made me a bit bored & wishing the story ended sooner..

📚 standalone in a series (k̶i̶n̶d̶a̶?̶) - i haven't read the other books in this series & while i sometimes felt like i was missing some references/inside jokes they had with other characters, i still enjoyed this story but for the best reading experience it would definitely be best read in order i suspect.

⚠️ CW: spanking and other kinky situations that were kinda questionable & silly (like eating underwear off of a person..), and lube, lotsss of lube, and wasteful behavior which might not had been environmentally friendly either that had to do with lube... and lots of dildos, also forced exhibitionism (kinda?)..

Game, S*x, Match
By Ana Byrde

When I read the premise for this book I immediately wanted to read it. It sounded like it would have a lot of laughs. It did. It was funny, loveable, a little snarky, and very adorkable.

"If Daniel and Hunter were twins, did that mean they were packing the same kind of equipment? Was it even legal to have two of those kinda pogo sticks in one family?"

Tiger immediately won my heart with his personality, snark, and insecurities about the size of his 'trouser tadpole'.

Daniel was equally likeable for his sweet quiet personality, but for also giving Tiger a firm hand or talk when needed.

I didn't care so much for Daniel's twin, Hunter. We were meant to dislike him. It wasn’t that. It was more that I actually felt like the story would've been better without him had he replaced with another stranger.

The book is in both Tiger and Daniel's POV. The angst level was mostly low with a touch of medium at times.

First off, I would read Daniel and Tiger and think, Daniel Tiger. Very inappropriate. I loved how Tiger was unapologetically himself, even with his insecurities about his trouser tadpole (which honestly didn't seem like an insurmountable issue) and I loved how Daniel was able to show him how it didn't matter.

The idea of Aunt Rosy's game show was great but the execution wasn't really for me. Very over the top (spicy lube burning up your rectum? Really?) and just missing the mark for me. Didn't love how Emmy kept that secret from Bounce or the way he talked about Bounce sometimes either.

I was looking forward to the big reveal because that dual-identity thing is my jam but here it sort of fizzled. The family drama as well, just too much.

Tiger had a bubbly personality and endless bounds of energy. He was sweet but was easily distracted.

Daniel and Tiger had some incredibly beautiful moments together where they got lost in each other. My favourite part was these two gorgeous men on the dance floor; it was all consuming and passionate.

I really enjoyed this one; it was funny and hot.

Creepy, not cute, but the couple is good together - read on KU

I loved how funny and fun the first book was. (I gave it 5 🌟. ) I smiled for most of the book. I pretty much hated this one.

We're all used to Aunt Rosy, but in this story she goes from fun and quirky to over the top and kind of creepy. Remember from book 1, she is the GREAT aunt and is an old lady. Considering the main characters in these books are 18-22 or so, their parents are probably in their late 40s+. That means Rosy is probably 70ish.

She started getting creepy in book 3. Wes introduces Emmy to her (not in person) and they correspond. She has him and Wes calling her Aunt Rosy but she watches Emmy's porn. If this situation were reversed, and it was an "Uncle Randy" watching porn made by an "Emma," and sending her sex toys and underwear, every reader would be skeeved out.

It gets much, much worse in this book. Three of her biological nephews are working for her - Ben, Oliver, and Derek. They help her run her web reality game. They end up delivering things she has designed to the participants for them to wear and these are not normal things. The nephews were always uncomfortable doing so.

The game starts with a costume party thrown by Aunt Rosy where she has invited some LGBTQ individuals that she pairs with her new LGBTQ matching app. The 3 couples that make out the best and have the best chemistry are invited to play her games.

One of the first two games is kind of funny. The other one has nothing to do with being a couple and is uninteresting. The third game, which is the final game before she narrows it down to two couples, is too simple and too short. And during these games, that's all they do during the day. It's bedtime by the time the games are over but none of the first three games should have lasted more than an hour and start at 2 PM and last over more than one day. There is nothing about what they do with the rest of their days other than dinner on the beach the night before the 4th game and some texting. Well, chatting online that frequently is called texting. Other than their attire, the first games are PG. Only kissing involved.

The 4th and final game is where the major creep factor comes in. I won't give details of the actual game but let's compare it to having a 70 year old lady in a sex club directing things while her three biological nephews are watching two couples endure unpleasant things to win money. It was not fun, funny, or cute. And it absolutely was not sexy. A similar game between a Dom and sub could have been but under these conditions it was nausea inducing.

Rosy had 3 pets, a large snake, a ferret, and a mini pig. Each couple had to take care of one of the animals during the games. The couple who won the first game got first pick of the animals. This whole concept could have been dropped from the book and no value would have been lost. It was filler and forced in so there was a pet of sorts in each book of the series.

Now, for the couple. I often got confused about which character had which personality aspects and backgrounds. Unless I missed it, we don't know their exact ages and we have no idea what Tiger does when not playing Rosy's games. We know they were both members of the online community Evan posted his question in when he was trying to figure out how to be a gay boyfriend. We know Tiger was the one who posted Emmy's cucumber video online that got him outed to his family. But not what he does for work or school. It really took several chapters in before I separated each in my head.

For that matter, a lot of the things in the book seemed to get mixed up to me. It seems the structure in the book could have been better. This is not something I usually have a problem with.

Tiger and Daniel seemed to have some low angst going on between them for most of the book, which I hate. I did like them, though. Unfortunately, we don't really see what has made these men the people they are in depth like we did in the other three books.

I saw several other people commented they would like to see Hunter's book but he was such a jerk in this book, I wouldn't be holding my breath to read his story even if this book had been great.

There has also been an increase in the number of grammatical errors as the series has gone in but the number in this book isn't horrible. However, they are very similar to the ones I've recently seen in another author's books, which make me wonder if they are the same author. I almost mentioned the name but, on the off chance I am correct, I don't want to out her if she is choosing anonymity for these books.

Outside of one scene, the sex scenes are even boring.

Clearly, I do not recommend this book and it isn't for a lack of an open mind. I read much more intense erotica than this without issue.

Game, S*x, Match is book 4 in the Love Wins series. This is Daniel and Tiger's story. Ana Byrde has once again crafted a tale packed with laughs and enough tender emotion to satisfy even the soppiest romantic (aka me).

Daniel (Cucumbers4Life) and Tiger (Bounce & Pounce) have featured in this series from the beginning. They first appeared in a chat group to help Evan with his sexual identity crisis. Daniel and Tiger have been online friends for years, but Tiger is unaware that Cuke, aka Daniel, is also the man he had an aborted relationship with in college. An almost relationship that neither of them has really moved past. By sheer chance, Daniel knows who Bounce really is, and despite desperately wanting answers, he doesn't want to risk his friendship with Tiger by telling him the truth. Let's just say it's complicated!

Secrets are the name of the game in this book, with Daniel's secret becoming even more complex when he and Tiger are matched for a reality program by Ben's eccentric but brilliantly funny and mischievous Aunt Rosy.

This book had all the elements I love in a good rom-com. There was miscommunication and one really big secret, but it was never intended to be malicious. Instead it was simply a case of trying to find the right time to fess up before it came out all on its own. I loved the reality show theme; it added so much humour! Aunt Rosy really is a wonder, walker and all! The show and the contests were so much fun and provided many opportunities for Tiger and Daniel to discover and show each other how much they truly cared.

I also loved the portrayal of Tiger’s ‘small’ problem. It’s something that so rarely occurs in romances, both MM or M/F, but I loved how this touch of real-life gave so many opportunities for personal growth for Tiger.

Once again, Ana's writing was superb. She has a knack for writing characters that you can't help but fall in love with and become wholly invested in. She has epic comedic timing and the ability to blend that humour with warm emotion that will have you laughing and sighing in the same paragraph. I'm not sure what it is precisely about her writing style, but it works for me. It's fluid and engaging. It's light, and even during angsty or more serious moments, it never feels heavy or depressing. Ana is an author I go to for a 'pick me up', and I haven't yet finished one of her books without a smile on my face.

Game, S*x, Match could be read as a standalone, but I wouldn't really recommend it. I'd suggest reading at least the third book in the series Straight as a Cucumber for maximum enjoyment.

When I read Game S*x Match, I had only read the third book. Straight as a Cucumber gave me enough information to ensure I knew 'who was who' and a bit of background on Daniel and Tiger, enough to understand most of the inside jokes and references. In the last few days, I've also read the first book Fake the Date; I now understand where Cuke and Bounce come from, which has given me further insight. Still, it's not essential reading to enjoy Game, S*x Match. However, the books are so much fun, I really recommend going back and reading them all!

I'd highly recommend Game, S*x, Match for anyone looking for an addictive rom-com with just enough drama to keep it interesting. Ana has done an excellent job with this book; I can't wait to read what she has in store next!

This book (this book being Ana Byrde's "Game, S*x, Match) has been on my TBR pile for...well, since it debuted a few months ago. Since the very day it came out, I wanted to read it. And at the same time, I was super hesitant.
["Size doesn't matter. Or does it?

I thought I found the guy. You know, that guy? The one that makes your knees go weak with one look? I found him. And then he dropped his pants and I climbed out the window. Oh, not because the size of his anaconda scared me, not at all. But because I didn't want to show him mine.

It's the anaconda guy.

And I don't think I'm over him."]
I just wasn't sure about the whole size issue. I mean, they always say that size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it that does. And it just seemed...like a petty issue to me. Than again, I'm a cis female and therefore cannot and will not have a fully-experienced opinion on the matter.

Two chapters into this, I gotta say, the blurb could have been written better. It's not a big spoiler (since it's literally in the first paragraph of the second chapter), but these two are online best friends. And (one knows, the other doesn't) they dated before (well, the one guy knows they dated; the other guy doesn't know that his online-best-friend is his ex-almost-boyfriend). All of which, in my opinion, is more intriguing than the size thing.

ANYway, review time...

The couples competition was a little kinkier than I thought Aunt Rosy would go, but there's always healthy boundaries and room to say no (which is very Aunt Rosy). It was also somehow totally fluffy at the same time. Who thought you could have Lube-Tag Fights all the while doing such sweet things that can be seen as love confessions? Aunt Rosy. That sly little match-maker (and entrepreneur and total badass--kind of a role-model if we're being honest).

Tiger and Daniel were super fucking cute. They were pretty much falling in love before the competition even started (the whole online best friends thing), but add some tropes in there (all courtesy of Aunt Rosy--forced proximity, there's-only-one-bed, etc) and it didn't take very long at all for the falling to turn into fallen.

Trigger Warnings: size shaming, body shaming, self-hatred, bullying, lying by omission, etc

Brilliant Story & Audible Listen🎧 RomCom at its Best!

Game, S*x, Match
#Love Wins, Book 4
By: Ana Byrde
Narrated by: John Solo

Ana Bryde wow’s me with another fabulously delightful #Love Wins novel. She is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, she has a great ability to draw her readers in to the story she creates a story that has a perfect balance of romance, comedy, drama and heart. I adored the two leads in this book, Daniel and Tiger, AKA Cucumbers4Life and Bounce-and-Pounce. The two have an online friendship, supposedly only known by their handles but Daniel figured out that Bounce was Tiger, they dated in the past. This secrets adds even more depth to the story because D Daniel really liked him and thought Tiger felt the same about him. Tiger wants to rectify his shortcomings, and when opportunity arises in the form of a reality show, he takes it. Daniel wants to run his own magazine but does not have the money to fund it and has the same idea as Tiger. The only thing is neither thought they would be paired together by Aunt Rosy’s new dating app and have to compete together as a couple in her new reality show. I loved how everything played out in this hilarious second chance romance novel, the story is both cleverly and beautifully plotted and there is never a dull moment. The shenanigans are brilliant, Tiger’s personality is pretty amazing, you can not help but fall in love with him, Daniel is the more level headed of the two but he is awesome too. And a shout out to Aunt Rosy, you got to love her and her antics too. I highly recommend this book, actually I highly recommend the entire series! Ana Byrde, thank you for another enjoyable and entertaining RomCom as well as all the laughs.

🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, John Solo continues to deliver an outstanding performance bringing these characters and their story to life. His portrayal of each character is spot on. He not only humanizes them with their emotions, but he plays the role with a complete understanding of the character’s personality which makes them shine even more. He sets the perfect tone for the story, handles the witty dialogue with ease and lands the humor flawlessly. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. His narration enhances an already awesome story to another level of awesomeness.

OMG, this is my most favourite #lovewins novel so far - it’s riotous, ridiculous, and so heartwarming! Daniel dated Tiger in college until Tiger inexplicably snuck out of the bathroom window literally leaving Daniel with his pants down. Years later their paths cross at a crazy couples convention sponsored by Aunt Rosie’s adult products company - can they sort out their big and little issues? Aunt Rosie, who appears in earlier books, is fully unleashed here, her many competitions and setups are really fun. Give that nearly *every* m/m romance serves up well-endowed main characters, it was fantastic to read / listen to a story where one of the MCs was definitely not - great messaging about learning to accept ourselves and others as they are and not defining or valuing people solely by physical attributes. The Queer community is not good at this and we need to do better. Ana Byrde and her writing duo, Ann-Katrin Byrde, write brave, feisty, and stubborn underdog characters like Tiger well and often, and they do so here. John Solo channels the quavering zaniness of Aunt Rosie, the frenetic impulsiveness of Tiger, and the measured care of Daniel absolutely perfectly - the audio is a joy to listen to!

Performance: 4 Stars
Story: 3 Stars

I'm all for stories with body positivity, and that issue - or, rather, overcoming a very personal physical insecurity - is at the heart of "Game, S*x, Match."

Set amid a couples reality game show hosted by series mainstay Aunt Rosy, this story has a madcap romantic comedy quality to it, as Daniel and Tiger are paired up to win the contest and end up falling in love in the process. I was much more interested in the relationship aspect than the absurd competitions and stunts throughout, so the latter didn't really hold my interest.

Where Daniel is all quiet confidence, Tiger is boisterous but insecure, and their connection is sweet and feels genuine. Daniel's loving encouragement - in word and deed - of Tiger to accept and embrace what's always been a sizeable personal insecurity, is heartwarming and what I enjoyed most about their story.

Narrator John Solo delivers a good performance overall, especially in the quiet moments between Daniel and Tiger, but I'm not a fan of his female voices here (Aunt Rosy's voice was comical and not in a good way). I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

When reality tv meets the porn industry in a flashy and wacky game show, drama and shenanigans are inevitable. Mix in hidden identity, second chance love, and the trademark humor Ana Byrde is known for, and this book is a delightful, laugh-out-loud read. This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the other books in the series since previous characters make an appearance in this story. Plus, they are extremely funny and worth the read. Besides the humor, the story also contains a really touching and sweet romance between Tiger and Daniel. I loved Tiger’s characterization – he’s such a force of nature even while hiding his insecurities.

The audiobook was narrated by John Solo who does a fantastic job. I love the character voices he used and really enjoyed the overall performance.

Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5

Sexy story!

John Solo does a fantastic job performing rom-com books and this one is no exception. I love the different voices he gives each character.

This series by Ana Byrde continues to delight me. I loved all of the interactions between Daniel and Tiger. There were many really hot scenes and I loved the reality show competition. Aunt Rosy is a fun character some of the things she does are hilarious.

The epilogue for the story was like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae!

I finished out the #LoveWins series by Ana Byrde and I enjoyed this series more than I expected too. The characters were all very likeable and it was a fun read.

Game, S*x, Match was a unique story of two online friends who end up meeting in real life and compete in a series of competitive games for a cash prize. The one online friend knows that the other is his ex but doesn’t he keeps it hidden for fear of losing his online friend since their relationship years previous did not end well. This was a funny storyline and very lighthearted. The two main characters are interesting and this one was one of my favorites of the series.

★★★★★ I would recommend this series. Each book is always carefree and has a good ending. It does not disappoint.

This book had explosive amounts of hilarious with plenty of hot, steamy scenes and well as heart warming ones. I expect nothing less of Ana Byrde's #Love Wins series. This can be read as a stand alone, but if you've been following the series this book focuses on Emmy's online besties Cucumbers4Life and Bounce&Pounce, aka Daniel and Tiger. Apparently they've dated before IRL but only Daniel realizes this fact!! So when they meet at Aunt Rosy's party Daniel is determined to keep his identity a secret. But then they get paired off in a couple's competition and Tiger's lips causes his brain to stop working. Such drool worthy drama ensues!! 😆🤤

Aunt Rosy delivers the cray cray in spades. I want to meet this icon. The room Aunt Rosy put the guys in-omg! Some of it had me blushing, and I'm no where near a prude . That woman's mind is a place of wonder. With each phase of this game/story I became more amazed and awed. My sides ached from laughing, and I had tears of laughter on my cheeks. I'm hoping this series never ends. It's just too much fun! All of Daniel's talks to Tiger to ensure trust and confidence made me admire him more. I listened to the audio version after reading this and John added magic to a phenomenal story and brought it to life.

2.5 stars.

This one was just not for me. It wasn’t poorly written and the characters were fine. It was just… fine. I felt a proposal at the end was a bit ridiculous. Obviously the whole concept of this story is ridiculous but it just felt unnecessary and out of place.

I chose this book for the depiction of small d*ck energy, and it gave me that. However, i would have liked the depiction to be less ‘I don’t judge regardless’ and more ‘I’m specifically into this’. I think it would have made the sex scenes, which again were fine, a little more charged.

Anyway it really was fine. It just didn’t grab me in any way. The characters are nice enough, but I won’t remember them 2 days from now.

I really loved Daniel and Tiger's story. The plot was interesting and funny, the characters dynamics entertaining and it was a delight to see aunt Rosy in action again.
It was so sweet how those two connected, how they learned to forgive and trust in each other a d how they discovered the happiness they both longed for.
The balance between funny and emotional was a good one, accompanied by sweet moments and adorable pets.
I liked seeing old characters and the role tbey played in bringing them together.
It was an amazing read and can't wait to read what happens next.

This was a very enjoyable story. Tiger and Daniel sure have some stuff to work through. I can’t say I liked how Daniel kept Tiger in the dark for so long about his identity but I understood his reasons. I did like that Daniel was able to show Tiger that he was perfect just the way he is and helped him be more comfortable with himself. Tiger really is a force of nature and bouncy but I think some of it is him covering up how insecure he really felt. I liked seeing them work through their past and find a way to embrace their future together. Aunt Rosy is just as crazy as ever but does have good intentions, even if a bit off base.

My favorite in the series

What I love about this series is that each book is different and can stand alone but is better read in order. We met Bounce and Cuke in earlier books and I feel it added to my enjoyment of this book by reading the others first. The characters are well developed, even the side characters, and the story pace is perfect. So many laugh out loud moments! I highly recommend this book and this series!

Yes, this book does deal with that topic that no one ever really discusses in romance. Everything is just always automatically fine for all concerned. Leave it to Ana Byrde to take on the challenge (actually an apt word choice here) of making the topic explicit and in an absolutely sweet and charming way. You'll adore the two main characters Daniel and Tiger (not Mr. Rogers' characters for sure) and Aunt Rosy is a delight as well. A sparkling rom-com.

This is the fourth book in the #Love Wins series and while you don’t have to read the others it makes it so much better if you do. I absolutely loved this story. I laughed so hard throughout this story and I adored the ferret in it. This is a great second chance story with hidden identities and a contest to win. I highly recommend this book.

Adorable second chance romance

Tiger and Daniel were so sweet and adorable.
Each one has a hangup not realizing the other is the cause.
It was so rewarding to see them take a chance on each other and come out of their comfort zones.
A contest guarantees plenty of hilarity ensuing.
Add in an adorable ferret and baby to make this one of the cutest books ever.

This one was so much fun and I didn’t see it coming. I love how Pounce and Cuc get their own story with their own HEA. And Aunt Rosie is such a great break out character. I love her wicked schemes. It was interesting to see the journey it took to bring these two men together.
I listened to the audio version and really enjoyed it very much.

This was a cute modern romance

I felt this romance had a very modern vibe to it.
Cute story with a very rare trope as the central topic.
It was cute, fluffy with low angst.
Definitely some laugh and smile out loud monents.
One thing I know- Ann Byrde (and Ann-Katrin Byrde) write dialog that I really enjoy.

This book was completely unrealistic and I couldn’t suspend my disbelief. I even had trouble believing the MCs would actually like each other IRL. BUT, this was fun and funny and I really liked it. The whole competition was bonkers and very entertaining.

Game, S*x, Match is a fun addition to the #Love Wins Book series.
This is Daniel and Tiger's story and I so enjoyed it.
There are moments of complete and utter hilarity and some really steamy parts!
I found this story to be very entertaining!
