Everything Dean knows about himself is about to change.

Dean’s friends see him as a genius who’s confident, successful, and Dominant. What they don’t see are insecurities that he’s hidden for years. An accident nearly took his life and left him scarred and in pain. His walls keep his secrets safe, but also prevent him from being the Daddy he once was.

Years of avoiding questions and brushing off the subject of dating have come to an end. His friends are determined to help him find the perfect boy.

Merrick’s come home to stay. He has a restaurant to remodel, an adopted cat, and a group of friends that keep him busy. As for a boyfriend? Been there, done that, never again. Helping Dean find the confidence to date might keep his friends from examining his love life a little while longer.

Focusing on Dean is easy—too easy—and it doesn’t take long for Merrick to see something even Dean’s missed. Dean doesn’t need a boy, he needs a Daddy.

The heart can’t be controlled, and helping Dean discover his middle side has unintended consequences. Will the two see that Merrick’s the Daddy Dean needs? Or will they lose more than their friendship along the way?

This is Dean's story. Dean had always thought that he was a Daddy/Dom because of his desire to care for his partners, which was admirable, but Merrick showed him something completely different about himself. This must be a very real thing for people who find they are constantly processing and then changing their sense of self as they learn more throughout life, especially if that idea of who they are is a little, or completely, outside the lines. Merrick had loved and wanted Dean for more than a friend, for a long time...but remodeling and opening a new restaurant took up a great deal of his time...plus he was a little unsure exactly how Dean viewed his own sexuality. I liked that Merrick never pushed or belittled Dean but handled the situation delicately. He was always patient and trying hard to learn everything he could about Dean, without ever forcing him into anything...always just letting Dean figure out for himself what he and most everyone else in his life, had missed. This has to be one of my top Carly Marie books. It's a beautiful, sweet and hot story. I loved seeing all my favorite guys from previous books still together and doing well. I do hate losing characters that I like, and I never want these stories to end. Carly Marie is a fantastic writer that always brings her guys to a beautiful happy ending.

Re-read May 2023

Going with 4.5 stars this time, since this book seems to be getting better the more I read it.

------------------------------------

4.5 stars

Now this I really liked!

I skipped the 4th book, because I couldn't get into it, but I've enjoyed the other books (some more than others). But I really liked seeing all the guys happy and I loved that we got to see Trent, Logan and Aidan discovering something new in their relationship.

Merrick and Dean were really good together. It was nice to see that Dean discovered he was a middle while in the past he thought he might be a Daddy. But being a Daddy didn't fit him at all, so I was happy he got to be more himself in this book.

And Merrick was a very sweet Daddy. I loved how they built the relationship on their solid friendship.

Definitely re-read worthy.

Man, this re read of the giant poly group of friends is going good. I actually liked this couple on this read through but man, it seemed like they were not the main mcs at all.

Spoilers abound because I am irked.

Ok I get it, their group of all gay men, who are now all daddies/boys, apparently cannot allow this couple to just be. I think this is why I didn't feel their connection the first time. Not only was poor Dean in so much pain and covered with horrible burn scars, but no one ever noticed? Not once? No one cared that he was alone most of the time? Same with Merrick. He seemed to be a side character in his own story. Canyon literally only joined the group in the last book but he is Mer's best friend and he and Larson get as much on page time as these two did. But that is not the most horrible thing to happen, at all. What was worse was that Logan (of the I am a puppy not a sub) from book two of this series was the one this book was about. Dean was supposed to be figuring out that he was a middle, but guess what? It was Logan who really needed to figure that out. Who really needed to talk to Travis, who really wanted a stuffie and to call Travis Daddy for reals. Aiden who is supposed to be a part of the mmm, is barely mentioned.

I was shocked, tbh, that Colt and Derek didnt pop up in here. It would have not been a surprise.

Well...

This was a slow burn and did not have the level of spice I expect with this series. I wasn't thrilled that the last two in the group got together but over all it worked even if I didn't feel the spark.

I'm also stuck at the fact that this group didn't notice that Dean was physically in so much pain. I get that every one did that whole "let's keep secrets from each other" trope but for a bunch of observant Daddies , they sure missed a lot and being in pain is not easy to hide.

I'm hoping Wyatt shows up in the other series, cause if not than that whole part of the story wouldn't make sense.

I enjoyed Merrick's and Dean's story. I wish Dean would've gotten out of his head a little sooner though. It seems like there is usually one of them in the book that has more issues. What I didn't understand is how all of these guys are so close, but yet they keep some pretty deep secrets.

I loved that Merrick went to Canyon for help and confided in him. Trent too. I liked that he did some research to learn more of what he could do to help Dean.

These two really do deserve to be together.

I find it odd that James and Derek got married again all of a sudden but yet there is no mention of that or them even being engaged. They didn't even have an epilogue to give us the details on that.

Original review
I have been looking forward to this book for months and absolutely loved it. It is the final book in the undisclosed series and it is surrounding this group of guys that are all friends and the last two of them to be paired off end up finding themselves in a dynamic that neither one of them anticipated. I don't want to give away too many details because you should just read the books, but it was very good. I really do enjoy Carly Marie's books, especially the newer ones. I've had a few issues with some of her older books, but as a whole she has managed to write a almost a dozen I believe books that are all set in the same little town in Tennessee and have overlapping characters. So if you actually read the books in order you get super invested in all of them. I only have one book of hers left and I did not read them in order because I am not smart sometimes. My one hang up with Carly Marie is her continued insistence to only use "LGBT" as the acronym. She has never included the plus or the Q or any additional letters and it's just one of my big pet peeves.

This doesn't include age play but it is middle versus little and so there is no ABDL for the main characters. If you've read the series you know that there is ABDL for the secondary characters to take place in this book. This is a little bit of an age gap and a daddy/boy dynamic. There's also content warning for car accidents and burn scars and rep for chronic pain.

It is delightful to see a fresh take on the Daddy/boy relationship and self discovery of the characters. It's a little bit of a slow burn but the story is told well and paced perfectly for the type of trope. There's a lot to absorb and Carly doesn't rush the process, which is admirable. We need more stories of middles and this one is fantastic, not only showing how a middle plays and behaves, but how they discover themselves. A brilliant book.

I absolutely adored this book. I've read a few others in the series, so it wasn't a completely new gang, but I would suggest at least reading a few before getting into this one. There are a lot of scenes where the characters from the other books all get together and text messages and playdates. It would make for a better read if you had a bit of background going in.

Again, loved this story. I really enjoyed that Dean had been more of a Dom before his accident, and didn't ever realize his path had changed course since. I thinks it's very cool to see how he can go from giving support to needing it.

This was very well thought out, with complex characters and situations, so much communication and all the lightbulb moments spelled out. I also enjoyed that this was more about fixing thoughts and relationships than just physical intimacy. There was that too, but it didn't take over the story.

I think this was a case of "it's not you it's me".

I've been so eager for Dean and Merrick's story. I think I built it up so big that their actual story fell short. It took me a few days to work through this book. And it wasn't hard at all to start and stop.

This was little longer than Carly's typical books. A bit more of a slow burn. A tad more angsty. The spicy scenes were lukewarm at best. When Dean and Merrick finally got it together at around 70% I was almost ready to call it a day.

Lovely wrap to this series, but I'm certain the author will bring at least some of these guys back in the future -- she has a habit of it, and there are too many of them that hang out at DASH to not see them again! So happy for Dean and Merrick -- they both deserve some peace and comfort.

Wonderful cap to the series.

I loved this book. The end note, about the author's previous planned pairings that didn't happen had me feeling vindicated. I knew with the first book what was intended... and this threw me for a bit because at first I felt like the author just got tired and didn't want to write two more books to wrap it all up. However I am so glad this pairing happened. Dean and Merrick are good together. I was so confused because for some reason I pictured Dean as an older man of 55 or something - a grumpy old man - him being 35 really had me puzzled for the first 3rd of the book. But once I got things from his perspective and experienced his character I really liked the change. I loved the idea of a book full of middles, which you don't see very often, and a Dom who changes to sub later in life. It's very authentic, allows for characters to be real people who change and grow. Also, the author just knows how to introduce BDSM in such a wholesome way, I will be reading this series again because of that.

I loved this cast of characters. I'm really going to miss them. Logan's one of my favorites and it's going to be hard to find a character like him again. I like his character arc here...it feels right. Like he needed some growth. I hope the author continues to play in the same world and we see them all again.

I only have one complaint, which was the author took the short cut several times and had a pertinent figure overhear a conversation/admission that opened up a dialogue instead of coming out and talking about it themselves in two separated scenes, the I'm-confiding-in-a -friend scene, and the I'm-talking-to-my-SO-about-something-important scene. This felt like lazy writing and the fact it happened for three conversations that needed to happen felt contrived. The first two happening at the same time had me cringing but forgiving the mistake. The last one thrown in with Logan and Trent had me mad at the poor craftsmanship. That's my only nitpick. And really this author is magical, I always bitch at books and criticize everything. This is barely a complaint. From a very picky reader it's a huge compliment.

I will be anxiously waiting for more books from this author. I also highly recommend.

Undisclosed submission is the fifth and final book in this series. The books can be read separately but it's really more fun if you read them in order. In the first book we meet a group of six men who have been friends since college and each book follows a different love story. This final book is about Dean and Merrick and it's a friends to lovers slow burn romance. Dean intrigued me since book one. He's a genius that finished high school when he was 16 and was described as a very outgoing and confident person whose personality changed when he had a car accident a few years before the series started. The Dean we meet in the books is reserved, quiet and seems to be hiding something big. I really wanted to find out his secret and I had to wait until the last book in the series but it was so worth the wait. Dean stole my heart, Ι connected with him instantly and as his story unfolded I felt even closer to him. His love interest, Merrick, is one of his closest friends since college. A man who has lived a nomadic life, travelling all over the world and avoiding attachments. When Merrick finally settles down in Tennessee him and Dean grow closer. The two men discover new things about themselves, their feeling evolve and their long friendship turns into the most beautiful and sweet romance. Dean has become my favorite character in the series. I completely lost myself in this book, I couldn't put it down, and it just warmed my heart and made my happy. I could honestly read ten more books about those two. I couldn't get enough! And I really loved that the characters from the previous books got more development. I feel like I need an extra book with Trent, Logan and Aiden, those three are so interesting.
This was the perfect ending to this amazing series. I'm seriously going to miss all of the guys! They were so much fun!
I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review

Good ending for this series I guess. More people introduced now.

I read this whole series and some of the others. Though I don't think I have made it through the finding home series yet. This was a good read. Metrics was an interesting character throughout the series. Dean was kind of quiet through out it. These two were a good pair. They been through a lot of stuff separately but seem to drift back to the group. So who's left that needs their story told for this group. I read Carly comments in the end and she mentions Wyatt, Ben and Asher. Do they have a story somewhere or are we waiting for them to be told. It hard when waiting between books to keep everyone straight or which series they are in. Love this book though lots.

A nice story of essentially friends to lovers with Dean, a former Daddy but never felt it quite fit and who swore off relationships after being scarred in a car accident and his old vanilla friend Merrick who swore off relationships after being cheated in 20+ years ago. They both have some discovery to do and it's not rushed . Although the whole "I won't say I want to date because I'll give him time" is always a mistake because it causes doubt. Sigh. Lots of interactions with their friend group.

I love this story so much. Dean figuring out himself, Merrick figuring out himself, and then them figuring it out together. It’s just fucking so enjoyable. It’s sweet and cute and Merrick is such a good Daddy and the scene where Dean messed up and tried to make breakfast but ended up having a Menty B is absolutely relatable but also the way Merrick handled it was so fucking perfect. I love this book.

This is absolutely how you end a series.

We were introduced to the 5 core friend members in Travis and Caleb's book. We knew that Dean had been a Daddy and we knew that had been in an accident.

I literally gasped aloud when I read the blurb in Carly's newsletter and immediately posted in her FB group about my surprise. Talk about a plot twist.

In this book, Merrick comes home and helps Dean discover that he's actually a middle rather than being the Daddy he struggled to be.

This book was emotionally intense....in the best way. We learn the truth of the extent of Dean's accident and his injuries. We learn Merrick's backstory and what's caused him to pick a life on the road. Most of all, we learn just how much the 5 thought they knew each other, but didn't.

Merrick and Dean's story is a slow burn. It's almost 70% through the book before their first "intimate" scene. However, the Daddy/boy relationship is there the entire time even if the two of them didn't realize it.

I loved watching Dean grow into his new role. I also loved how his confidence grew as he allowed himself to open up to his chosen family.

It felt like we had a full circle moment between Trent and Merrick. In Undisclosed Curiosity, Merrick helps Trent realize that he can have both men and that he really is a Daddy. In this book, Canyon is instrumental in helping Merrick work through his feelings, but I feel like his talk with Trent was really helpful.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the interaction between all the littles and, in turn all the daddies. They are a fun and loud group and getting to know each of their little sides more was a blast.

My heart hurt for Larson. Carrying that burden for years, had to be difficult. My heart hurt for Logan, along with Trent, as well. Those two struggled to find a common ground so that they could be together. I really hope we get a bonus scene of their talk.

In my opinion, this is the best book in the series and possibly the best book Carly has written. I loved all of them...I have a soft spot for the triad and for Larson, but this story feels like the closing of a door. I know we won't be saying goodbye completely to these guys, but I feel that each character's story was done well and if we were never to hear from them again, I would feel content with the ending of the series.

I'm lucky to be on Carly's ARC team, but all my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Submission by Carly Marie is Book 5 in her Undisclosed series. Although you can read it as a stand-alone I recommend that you read the other books first as all of the characters in them are an integral part of this story. This book is about two men who have been good friends since college and have been in and out of each other’s lives since then. Dean is a genius accountant who was in college by age 16 and was tutoring other students in some of their classes. Merrick and many of the others in the series were in his tutoring group and they all became close friends. Dean has settled in Franklin, Tennessee, as have the others in the group, except for Merrick. He has held many jobs all over the country starting as a bar tender who won some flair contests and then built his career in the bar and restaurant industry and finally as a restaurant consultant. He is now ready to settle down and has bought an outdated restaurant back in Franklin where his friends are and is fixing it up. Dean was in a bad car accident 7 years ago and was hiding his pain from his friends. He thought he was a Daddy but was slowly realizing this might not be true and it was confusing to him. Merrick was not a Daddy but was a Dom who had had several short relationships throughout his life but none of them worked out. Both men looked at the relationships their friends had developed with their partners and knew that was what they wanted. They just didn’t know with who! Their relationship slowly develops through the book as Merrick helps Dean realize what he is and he works out how to be the Daddy that he needs. He also helps him to let others know about the accident and what it did to him. I have really enjoyed all the books in this series and I like when characters you know reappear in the stories. All of them are well developed and help Merrick and Dean with their problems and also add some hilarity to the book. (My favorite was the painting scene where I was laughing out loud as I was reading!) Ms. Marie also writes great love scenes that are quite passionate. Daddy/Boy books are my favorite genre so she hit all my buttons with this story. She is one of my favorite authors and did not disappoint with this book. I highly recommend it and am looking forward to her next book.

Another story in this amazingly written series into submission.
Another couple gives us an insight into the varied world of BDSM.
Can two friends that have known each other for many years wake up to their unusual connection?

Dean and Merrick have been friends for over 20 years, they have worked together, dined together,
relaxed together and been away from each other time and time again. Yet they each return to the other,
finding solace in their friendship and a family in their circle of friends. As each member found their life
partners Dean and Merrick remained steadfastly single.

Life had thrown many tragedies their way...
A jealous boyfriend breaking Merrick's confidence and leaving him cagey and unsettled, fearing commitment.
A road traffic accident leaving Dean with physical and emotional scars, pain he constantly hid from everyone.

Both men had changed a lot, what they hadn't realised was that the dynamics of their relationship had too.
It's going to take a few play dates with the littles, Curious the pup and the Daddies to bring about this change.
I wanted to shout at them both for being so blind, they both needed reassurances that their fears were pointless.

" He'd seen what I hadn't and had given me the push I'd needed while patiently waiting for me to figure it out.
He was already there when I realised what I'd needed was him. He was the missing link, the person that made all
the parts of me that never fit into a nice little box finally fit. ".... Sigh !

This is another well written story of the need for power exchange, how life and experiences can change our perspectives
and needs at any one time....
I always love revisiting this close group of friends, the sweet littles, the caring Daddies and the moody middles
always bring me joy . Just lovely.

Dean is great with numbers and his friends consider him a genius who is successful and cominant. But they don't see his insecurities he keeps hidden after an accident nearly took his life leaving him scarred and in pain. He can no longer the the Daddy he once was. Then his friends become determined to find him the perfect boy. Merrick is home to stay with a restaurant to remodel, his adopted cat and a group of friends to keep him busy. Helping Dean find the confidence to date might keep his friends from examining his own love life. Then it becomes clear to Merrick - Dean doesn't need a boy - he needs a Daddy. The heart can’t be controlled, and helping Dean discover his middle side has unintended consequences. Will the two see that Merrick’s the Daddy Dean needs? Or will they lose more than their friendship along the way?

I loved this story with the two friends who know each other so well that their love was easily changed into something far deeper. I liked the way that Merrick helped Dale with his burns and massaged the tight muscles and flesh that were causing him such pain. The group of friends were so protective of each other and I loved the way that they were able to all be together in their various kinks. Easy to read, feel and understand this was definitely a story to make me smile. This is an MM story with mature content with a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic. I'm sad that this is the last book in the series as they felt like a group of my own friends too.

Dean and Merrick, together?! I am so here for it!

Brilliant workaholic Dean (35) and commitment-weary Merrick (45) have been mystery men throughout the terrific Undisclosed series, never being the focus or revealing much of themselves even to their found family group of longtime friends (who factor in heavily here), and having their stories converge is a surprising delight. These are two lonely men with some past hurts to help each other work through, and in doing so as friends realize what they've both longed for most was right in front of them all along.

I love hurt/comfort love stories, those with a good slow-burn all the more, and Dean and Merrick's sweet and steamy relationship evolves from friends to lovers at a satisfying, believable pace. And wow, the revelation of Dean being a boy (Middle) rather than a Daddy, let alone finding happiness with his longtime friend - and apparent mutual low-key crush - Merrick, surprised me as much as it did Dean himself and his friends, and all in all the very best of ways.

I've so enjoyed the interconnected stories centering on the longtime kinky friends group and their families at the heart of this series and the author's crossover Johnson Family Rules and Finding Home series. Dean and Merrick's love story such a thoughtful, gratifying end to this heartfelt series, whose wonderful characters I hope will continue to pop up in the author's linked book universe. I received an advance reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily. (Also read in KU.)

Carly Marie books are always full of so many emotions and wonderful characters. She has a way of writing that makes you easily connect with the characters and feel their emotions without overwhelming the reader. And all of her characters will find a way into your heart and never leave.
But we are very lucky in that we don't really have to say bye to them, the characters are interwoven tightly in each other's life so we get updates of them throughout the book series. Now saying that let me also say that even though this book can be read as a stand alone, it will be best enjoyed and fully appreciated if the series is read in order.
I have to say that the MCs in this book really caught me by surprise. I did not expect Dean and Merrick to get together. But after reading their story, Im so happy they did. They were perfect for each other. Both had my heart breaking with all the secrets and pain they kept hidden from their friends. But then I got to see them heal, let go of the past, grow emotionally, and fall in love with each other. And of course also laugh along the way cause these group of guys are hilarious!! I'm really sad that this is the last book of the series but I'm hoping we'll get more updates cause I can definitely see Dean and Logan getting into a lot of mischief.

Great to get Dean's and Merrick's book.
Dean the youngest of the group of friends was a Daddy Dom before his car accident. But since the accident he has not wanted to have a boy or a relationship.
Merrick was the traveler of the group not being able to settle, and not getting into a relationship since his ex cheated on him ,25 years ago.
When Merrick brought the bar/ restaurant in Tennessee he started spending a lot of his spare time with Dean, their friendship always being strong. With their relationship changing , both men wanting more, but there were things in their past that needed to be brought up.
With the help/support and advice from their group of friends their relationship has a chance if they are both willing to embrace what they both now know.
This can be read as a stand-alone but much better reading the others as you get to meet the rest of the characters.
Brilliant ending to series, but can still be extended with how their lives develope over time
I received an advanced copy of this book for a honest review and I couldn't put it down

Oh my..oh my goodness. This was definitely the best way to end this series and yet I can't wait to see all of these guys in futures at DASH! I MEAN they all have to attend again at some point right?
I'm trying to NOT put spoilers in this review but I just got done reading this book and I'm all over the place emotionally lol.
With that being said this book had me laughing and crying at the same time throughout the entire book. I definitely spent the entire morning reading.

If you haven't started this series yet and you enjoy adorable shy littles and caring Daddies finding their way , if you enjoy all the emotions! And the antics of littles and their interesting friends and family! Start this series asap. This series has littles middles pups and some lace! Shy adorable confused men who take forever to figure out whats right in front of them! Ohh Dean Larson and Logan were so freaking adorable in this ! And Mer Trent and Canyon -swoon-

I loved Dean's story. I'm so glad it ended up the way it did. Carly Marie has taken a man who thought he was a Dom because of his desire to care for his partners and showed him something completely different about himself. I think this must be a very real thing for some people, constantly processing and changing your internal sense of self as you learn more throughout your life, especially if that idea of who you are is a little outside the lines.

I love how Merrick handled the situation. He was always patient and trying to learn about Dean, he didn't force him into anything, just let Dean figure out for himself what everyone had missed.

This has to be there as one of my top Carly Marie books. (There's also quite a bit of new content for Trent and Logan!) I'd definitely recommend this book to others. 5/5

Submission is the 5th book in the Undisclosed series and one of my favorites! I loved the slow burn, long-time friends to lovers, becoming what you need relationship between Dean and Merrick, and of course, the relationships and amusement that comes from all of their friend group getting together. "At some point, all pretenses of maturity had left the building."

Merrick has finally stopped running from his past and returned to the one place and person he couldn't stay away from. Dean was recovering mentally and physically for so many years, and to have someone see him as he is now but also help him grow again, was so good to see. I really enjoyed their relationship - it showed maturity, healing, and growth of individuals, friends, and into a relationship.

Would recommend this story!

Globe trotting Merrick feels the pull the finally settle down. The hometown that all of his friends call home calls to him and it’s time for him to call it his own as well.
When he finds himself spending most time with his last single friend Dean than the others, it’s an evolving relationship between them that shows him they can be more.

Dean is a man in hiding. Hiding from the hurts of his past, he keeps himself aloof from his fiends. When Merricks starts to breach his walls, Dean starts to discover a new side to himself and something new with Merrick as well.

The last book in this series, rounds up this groups of friends really well. I love how we catch glimpses of all of the past characters in this story. Logan especially shines in this one as he forms a meaningful friendship with Dean.
This was a fantastic ending to the series but I’m hoping it’s not a final goodbye.

finding each other

Yay for a middle book! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good little book, they are my faves, but there is something special about a sweet middle. They are different in their needs and I love reading about them. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I’d read Logan’s book because he does take up a lot of side character time in this book. This is about finding yourself. The realization that we are always growing and figuring out our selves no matter what age we are. And in finding oneself, finding love. I like watching them figure it out and find what works for them. Not every relationship looks the same and that’s no different than a Daddy Middle.
Loved the found family and how they took care of each other.

For future me:
Dual POV
No cheating/sharing
Needs diversity
Roles aren’t strict.

DNF @52%

It was a hard decision to DNF because Carly is one of my go-to author, but somehow I didn't felt the characters and the story. It was painfully slow, with many unimportant info, no romance, no age-play ... probably there are more later on, but I don't have the patience right now.
And it feels weird that a Daddy becomes a boy, especially a middle. IDK, it seems middle books isn't my cup of tea. I love littles though!

Ps. the mutual hand job scene was HOT! I wanted this kind of scene a couple of months ago, and Carly said it will probably fit in one of her books, and tada, it's here! :D bonus point for that scene.
