English Title: Encountering a demon Chapters 1-32 3rd Person POV
If you want a slice of life, smutty read between a mortal x snake demon which doesn't involve too much brain power then this is the one for you.
Both Shen Qingxuan (MC- mortal) and Yi Mo (ML- snake demon) are a little unhinged. Don't think I will be continuing on with the other volumes because the ending felt complete to me.
I already knew how it’s gonna end since I already read the manhwa but it still hits 😭 not ready for the second life 🫂 I love that we got more details even though the manhwa did a good job at expressing emotions and explaining the plot but what I didn’t expect were the smutty scenes they were pretty 🔥👀 I bumped up my rating to 5 stars because I can’t stop reading it it’s so good 🥹 such a beautiful story 🐍♥️
I picked this up solely because of the “tragedy” tag without reading any reviews. The first volume is genuinely solid. It tells a romantic story between a sickly young master and a snake demon. There is an inherent reluctance to their relationship. How can an immortal being, free of worldly attachments, truly commit to a human whose lifespan is nothing more than a fleeting moment to him? Neither of them fully gives 100 percent to the other. The young master remains bound by family obligations and reputation, while the snake demon is focused on cultivating toward immortality. Despite this emotional distance, they spend their time together peacefully until the master’s death. It is beautiful, restrained, and properly tragic. Great smut as well. Continue for my vol. 2 and 3 review
Unfortunately, this is where the story fall apart. The snake demon cannot let go of his love and seeks out the young master’s reincarnation, even though this new life carries none of the past memories or shared experiences. The snake clings to the version of the person he once loved and attempts to recreate that bond with someone who is, in every meaningful way, a different individual. His emotional stagnation and lack of human understanding ultimately lead to non-consensual encounters, turning what could have been a tragic meditation on grief into something deeply disturbing. By the third volume and third reincarnation, the dynamic grows even more troubling, edging into grooming territory.
