This is a great book because it tells u exactly what to do, makes u aware of the obstacles and recognizes that u will not be perfect. It gives u a track to run on so that at anytime, u know exactly where u are in the process and what to do next.
Most of us have known to rise early enough to start their day, but lost in delivery because they failed to strategize their jobs into manageable chunks in the order of priorities. This book teaches that order. You will benefit immensely by practicing these simple directions.🙏 C.n.Njuguna.
Lots of great little ideas on planning, and learning. Some sections had wayyyy too many number/letter bullet points within each other. 7 points with the 3rd having 5 letters with that letter having some lower case letters. It was a bit confusing, even with the good info.
Finally finished this book during our Prayer & Fasting Week and I'm so happy this book gave me a little push on how should I approach my tasks in mind and hand. 🤍
I believe this is also the last book in the series. 👋🏼
A Valuable Guide to Productivity and Personal Growth, with Some Limitations on Strategic Thinking
I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Strategic Mindset: A 7-Day Plan to Identify What Matters and Create a Strategy that Works" by Thibaut Meurisse. This book provided valuable insights and practical tips to enhance my productivity and develop a strategic approach to daily life. The author's explanations are clear and concise, supplemented with relatable examples and actionable exercises that enable readers to apply the concepts effectively. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on critical aspects such as prioritizing the right tasks, minimizing options, learning from mistakes, asking insightful questions, and effectively managing energy. The book's brevity and accessibility make it an ideal choice for busy individuals.
However, the book could have delved deeper into strategic thinking, particularly business and competitive scenarios. Given that the title suggests that it teaches readers how to identify what truly matters and craft successful strategies, I expected more comprehensive insights. While the book does touch on personal productivity and skill acquisition, it falls short in providing extensive guidance on anticipating and influencing the moves of others—an essential aspect of achieving strategic success.
In summary, "Strategic Mindset" is a valuable resource for individuals seeking to enhance their productivity and acquire new skills. However, those looking for an exhaustive guide to strategic thinking may find it lacking in certain areas. Anyone who needs a boost of motivation and a clear path to accomplish their goals should read this book.
You should know that this book may not be appropriate for younger readers who may find the complex concepts and technical terms it presents too tricky. It is primarily tailored for adults seeking personal and professional improvement.
To achieve anything we need to consider a lot of things. Strategy is one among them.
This book talks about, 1) Why do we need to do the right things 2) Why do we need to reduce our options 3) How to plan/learn effectively 4) Learning mistakes 5) Asking the right questions to ourselves 6) Why do we need to learn the right skills 7) How to spend our energy well
If you are someone who tends to create a long to-do list and could not complete any major tasks then you may get some different perspectives from this book. If self-help books are not your cup of tea then this is not for you.
Some excerpts from this book: 1) There is nothing more wasteful than spending time on a task that didn’t need to be done in the first place.
2) efficiency is doing things right while effectiveness is doing the right things.
3) The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. —Abraham Lincoln, former President of the United States.
4) Strategic productivity isn’t about absorbing more and more information, it’s about putting what you learn into action.
5) Whenever you choose to develop a new skill, consider the level of expertise you need to acquire. Your time and energy are limited. Therefore, there is no point in becoming overly good at a skill that is only partially useful or one that isn’t needed at all.
6) before tackling any task, take a few minutes to work out the best possible way to approach it. This habit alone will save you a great deal of time and effort down the road.
7) In the end we retain from our studies only that which we practically apply. —Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, poet and playwright.
If you are looking to increase your day-to-day productivity and focus, this is a good read. However, with strategic thinking, I was hoping for a larger "David vs. Goliath" perspective (i.e. how an strategic mindset can help anticipate other people's moves, which is key for business decisions).
In other words, this book inspires introspection rather than contributions to external causes.
No so suited to me but rather entrepreneurs and business persons. But still some good tips. Of course I am on a roll with reading New Year self help books. A couple of quotes and suggestions I liked from the book: “You can be busy or you can be productive. The choice is yours.” The idea being that you can work towards achieving maximum results with minimal effort and that efficiency is doing things right versus effectiveness which is doing the right things- doing less of the things that bring little results. The author then goes on to talk about ways to go about making this happen. I also liked the CEO COO AND employee analogy for planning towards your goals/ daily tasks CEO will plan what and why, COO will assess how you went at the end of the day (reflect and look for ways to improve) and the employer will do the what. And finally whenever you face a new task ask yourself whether it is really the best use of your time. For me this sometimes means how to best use the time I don’t have choices about like PD 😂😂 Anyway, a few good nuggets, and a few reminders of using my time wisely.
What Thibaut Meurisse has written is a concise reference book for people wanting to optimise how they operate.
Praising the value of effectiveness (doing the right thing) over efficiency (doing a thing well), Meurisse provides the reader with a tight toolkit to establish order. Understanding that the most impactful change does not require complexity, the core value of this book comes from the questions he prompts the reader to ask over the short, medium, and long term. This book helps structure your thinking so you can develop and execute a plan that actually works.
Considering how brief it is, it is best served as a reference - I suspect this is a book that will be revisited often.
As an aside, I would like to highlight that this book is focused on ‘personal strategy’ rather than organisational strategy so be wary of what you’re getting yourself into ahead of time.
Tytuł: Umysł stratega. Siedmiodniowy plan określenia celów i tworzenia skutecznej strategii Autor: Thibaut Meuisse Wydawnictwo: współpraca z Sensus
It's generally okay. The writing was kind of preachy, but the techniques seems great.
It's like the expanded version of atomic habits, where tiny changes makes remarkable results.
While atomic habits encourages people to change their everyday lifestyle into a more productive one. This book makes you think months or years ahead, on which habit or skill should you hone for long-term interest.
The 90 day strategy was something I never done, it gives me a idea on what to spreadsheet next haha.
It also made me install Duolingo. Now I'm studying Japanese for fun lol. The example made me randomly inspired.
I feel this book perfectly gives us what the title promises in a way that's to the point and gives you detailed action points which you can inculcate in your life for strategic planning of achieving your goals.
This might be a quick read but it's a book with powerful steps given to help us understand and also apply them with ease without complicating anything.
Honestly, I loved the writing style that is divided into a Seven Day Plan and the 'straight to the point' lessons were definitely super helpful.
This is the least helpful amongst the series by Thibaut. Strategic productivity refers to boosting your productivity, explains Thibaut. However, he doesn't mention what strategies exist and which apply best to which scenario / problem. What he does talk about are the differences between efficiency, and effectiveness, how to ask yourself smart questions, and manage your energy well. These are interesting insights but can't be directly applied. I like the part about meta-skills (skills applicable everywhere and that make it easier to acquire other skills) though and that they are very worthy of acquiring.
This book is yet another short, but impactful read from Thibaut Meurisse.
It discusses in detail about improving our strategic mindset and to workout a 7 day plan for setting goals, executing them effectively.
The most important takeaway for me - Focus on fewer important goals/tasks and perform them exceptionally well rather than doing more in an average manner.
"Strategic Mindset" by Thibaut Meurisse is a remarkable book that offers a wealth of valuable insights and practical tips to boost productivity and cultivate a strategic mindset in everyday life. The author's explanations are remarkably clear and concise, ensuring that readers can easily grasp the concepts presented.
I just finished reading this 4 book productivity series and I have to say, the 4th book was definitely my favorite. It gave so many questions, tools, and techniques for becoming more strategic in day-to-day life and truly living with intention. It was also the longest of the 4 book series, providing the most actionable steps.
Straight-forward and concise overview on how to think and act strategically
This was another good book from Thibaut. I like the format - presented clearly and in easy to understand groupings. It goes along well with the other books in his series, and just beginning the process had many beneficial effects for me - like feeling better from making the effort to improve myself.
A precise guide to those willing to achieve success easy to read , understand and implement. Even you're performing best currently yet there's a chance to get to the next best result if anyone read and implement this book so one of best books. B A VISWANATHA
This book should be the first in the series, not the last. The info is basic but important to know. In my opinion, this book sets the stage for the other 3 in the series.
Step and day wise guide to become more effective rather than more efficient. It is eye opening for people who put every thing in their effort to get results but fail. Must read to correct your strategy.
The book helps you lay out a plan. It also gives you things to look out for that could get in your way. Not everything was applicable for me but there was more than enough that was. A worthwhile read.
I found it to be interesting with a consice approach. It is easy to understand and gives action steps to implement the plan and question your own thinking system for improvement.
This book was quick and effective. Gives great strategies to start today Gives options according to your personality. I love that you can take 2 hours and a notebook and learn how to structure everything In your life with this one read.
Es un muy buen libro, una guía fácil y aplicable para proyectar tus tareas y ser más efectivo. Para todo aquel que desea cumplir sus más altas posibilidades.

This was an efficient and quick read. It contains practical steps for creating strategies that help achieve your goals while improving the way you think, learn and implement.
