Murder in the Mix #39

Pumpkin Roll Reckoning

Rate this book
My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owner’s impending doom.

It’s Thanksgiving in Honey Hollow and a killer is cooking up murder.

Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see the dead—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.

Living in Honey Hollow can be murder.

So disappointed

I skipped several books and decided to give the series another try to see if anything changed but nope, still the same. I like the mystery in the story but I was tired of the Noah/Everett tryst 20 books ago and since it's still the same thing, I'm going to take this book series and its author off my favourite list. Too many books out there to waste my time with a heroine who can't make up her mind who she wants to screw. No wait, she's screwing them both, so I should say whom she wants to spend the rest of her life with.

Everyone is gathered at the new home of Cormack and Noah. Cormack is in her glory but Noah really doesn't want anything to do with it but he has no choice. Lottie is not really happy over what is going on, Everett is pleased with it. There are some interesting develops with guests at the party. One of the guests end up murdered. Everett also has to deal with someone from Lottie's past that is really up to no good.

There is so much that happens in this book, I am not spoiling it. Each book draws you and is better than the last. The characters in the book are entertaining, there are few that can be annoying but that is like real life. I truly enjoyed my time with the characters being drawn away from real life problems for awhile. I recommend reading this.

Lottie is at a party just down the street from her and Everett's house. All of the elite "who's who?" are there. It's close to Thanksgiving but it's not turkey dinner time, it's a housewarming party for Noah and his wife Cormack! Needless to say Noah's not a happy guy. There's a murder and there's a lot of suspects! Lottie is right at it, trying to solve the crime. Besides murder, there's extortion, a charity organization that may not be very charitable, possible mob ties, a possible baby on the way, and other interesting sub-plots. This book keeps you guessing whodunit till the end! Love this series!

I started reading this series out of order. It's time to go back and see how this crazy family came to be.

I absolutely love this series! I feel like we have almost come full circle with this one seeing as we started out in Honey Hallow in the fall all those years ago. I've grown to love all of the characters and am truly excited when a new boom comes out. If you like cozy mysteries with any of love, laughter and heart this book is for you!

Lottie, again, finds herself with a homicide mystery to solve. Her pumpkin roll is center stage this time. Lottie spends most of the book having a tantrum because Noah may have had sex with his wife? I am still trying to wrap my head around how Noah thinks he's married to Lottie when she was legally wed to Everett and has not been divorced. People in this series are married but living in separate residences like that's the norm. The Cormack storyline just gets more and more outlandish. For the umpteenth time - please make Lottie pick either Noah or Everett and be done with it. I used to like Noah but he has been coming across as childish and takes no responsibility for his antics. He blames Everett when he is the one who usually starts the mayhem. The Jordan storyline was interesting but, again, the book focused more on Lottie's dysfunctional love life than the true mysteries within. Am hoping that the next book clears some of the unanswered questions up.

Pumpkin Roll Reckoning is the third-ninth book in the Murder in the Mix Mystery series. Each story in this series builds on the past story so I would suggest reading them in order to get the most out of it, but they are written where you could read them as a stand alone if you wanted to and not be to lost.
Lemon has a gift of seeing dead animal of those who will experience back luck soon, but lately deadly luck. Like all the books in this series, when Lottie sees a ghostly animal she knows death is soon to follow.
Cormack asked Noah for a ‘fake’ wedding for Lottie to get her share of her mothers inn back, but she made everything legit with out Noah knowing so they are legally wed. Cormack is going to town and milking it for all it is worth and that is where this book starts is at Cormack housewarming party for the house she had built and designed for them. Everything is going smooth until it Lottie and Everett walk out for fresh air and find the designer face down in the fountain.
Noah is using the marriage to go undercover and get close to Cormack’s charity that may have suspicious ties.
There is the main murder in this story they are solving but Noah’s undercover work from the murder of Everett’s prior juror keeping the police department busy. Who will solve them first the department or Lottie?

Honey Hollow in November--the leaves have fallen, the temperatures are brisk, the scents of yummy goodness are everywhere....and then a dead body.  Poor Lottie Lemon is busy bustling in the kitchen in preparation for Thanksgiving. Attending a house party for Noah and his new wife, Featherhead (or Cormack) is not something she is looking forward to, much less coming across a dead body.  A cute, furry raccoon of the ghostly variety shows up to help Lottie determine who killed the victim.  While using her sleuthing skills, running the bakery, being a mom to Lyla Nell and Evie, Lottie also wants to uncover the connections behind Cormack's new charity as it seems nefarious.   A former friend/foe of Lottie's is also in the picture making dicey demands of Everett.  Will a murderer be found, baby rumors be revealed, and a Thanksgiving to be thankful for occur in Honey Hollow?  Read book #39 in the Murder in the Mix series by Addison Moore to find out!

I can't get enough of Lottie and the Honey Hollow residents. I love that every story remind of the previous one, but each comes with it's own unique feel. They are the same and not at the same time. I just love it. Lottie and her crew never disappoint and I am serious when I say I can't get enough of them. I'm looking forward to seeing what come next for the town of Honey Hollow and it's loveable people. Well done tot he authro on another great read.

It's Thanksgiving time and there are all kinds of craziness in Honey Hollow. Lottie and the gang are doing everything they can to have a great time and there is a party to be had. Of course, there is murder too and Lottie is there to help find the murderer. There is always something going on and mysteries to be solved.

I can't wait to get back to Honey Hollow and see what happens next.

Polygamy at its Worst

I don't understand why someone who has made his career as a police officer is so stupid to think that he is actually married to Lottie and doesn't care that he is making her a polygamist. Obviously he is delusional. We really don't need to go over the backstory for every book, its boring no matter how 'cutesy' it's reworded.

Otherwise, the story isn't bad. The author REALLY needs to remember where they are on the timeline, though.

Murder

Murders? Yes, more than one has been happening in Honey Hollow as of late. Lottie has had her work cut out for herself. Noah and Ivy maybe able to assist but likely not. Everette’s birthday is coming and it’s Lyla Nell’s first Thanksgiving. An old friend comes to visit Lottie.

I love all the books in this series. I've followed the series from the beginning. Even though the author catches up people who don't know the background stories, I find it more satisfying to come in with that knowledge. It amazes me the Ms Moore keeps thinking up more challenges for the protagonist. But, I expect that is why Addison Moore is a successful author, and I am not!

I was expecting more out of this story due to the way the last one ended. I was left wanting more. This is getting too repetitive nothing new. Sam is a new character perhaps she will bring more to the storyline? I actually hope she does give Lottie what for! I mean really Lottie can’t continue to control two men keeping them both on her leash! Noah should get over her and move on!! Sure the marriage was real but not legally standing and what happened to the fact that both Noah and Lottie committed bigamy? It wasn’t addressed!

A good series.

I like this series alot. Most of the regular characters are likeable; some of them are not. Thanksgiving is soon, as well as Everett 's birthday. The plot is good. If you like the series, you will enjoy this book.

Score one more for Lottie

Lottie solves another murder in Honey Hollow. But also loses a ex roommate. What is wrong with Featherhead? Someday everyone will stop belittling Lottie and give her the praise she deserves

Fortunately I’m almost done with this series. I can’t stand Noah and I’ve had enough. He’s annoying, needy and pathetic among many other things. Go away!

This is another interesting story in the series. More new characters introduced all with interesting secrets of their own. A few twists and turns and another favorite dessert and another murder solved. Also included is another interesting ghost pet of the victim.
