Miles is a big time crime boss or higher up boss man that man fear, he has a client who owes him money and when he shows up he gives him Rose a young innocent dazed girl ad payment. Miles wants to protect this girl but he has to act tough for a moment can't show weakness infront of everyone. So he does act jerkish until they are alone.

Now Rose is confused on can she trust this man or is he like the one who sold her.. their relationship is 0 to 100 with some confusing moments for her.. and more drama when another guy wanted to have her. No one puts hands on his woman.. now a Valentine blood bath is happening. 

Low agnst, no ow drama but some om drama, no cheating, sexy time, Drama, virgin gal and no manwhore idk his past.

Drake le debe a Miles mucho dinero y Miles no es alguien con quien meterse. Así que cuando Miles espera la llegada de Drake lo último que se imaginó es que este iba a intentar pagar su deuda con una mujer. Pero en cuanto Miles la ve sabe que no es cualquier mujer, es suya y tiene que reclamarla ya.

Iba un poco asustada con esta lectura porque en las reseñas predicaban que era un romance oscuro y tal y cual y claro con la sinopsis diciendo que la chica estaba llorando y blablabla yo estaba cagada de que igual este libro era un poco demasiado oscuro para mí gusto. Cuál es mi sorpresa al darme cuenta de que... A que le llama esta gente oscuro? Porque de verdad no sé a qué se refieren 🤷🏻‍♀️. Es decir la historia no empieza muy bien con la pobre Rose siendo dada en pago de una deuda pero aún así Miles nunca le hace daño, nunca la obliga a nada, ni la trata mal tampoco así que no sé a qué narices se referían con romance oscuro.

Así que por supuesto la historia me ha encantado! Ha sido cortita y rápida claro pero es genial para lo que yo quería que era pasar el rato después de una lectura larga y pesada. Muy recomendada ❤️

When Rose is given to Miles as payment he automatically gets fiercely protective of her which is something he’s not use to feeling but all he knows is that he will move heaven and earth to keep her safe from the things that go bump in the night, even though he’s one of those things. Another great story from this fantastic writing duo. Loved Miles and Rose. Rose came to him as a gift for a debt that was owed but he saw her as much more than that. The chemistry and attraction between them was so intense and really good. Loved this story and I can’t wait to read more from this duo.

Always going through the motions, with life and all things pleasure. Never having found that special someone who could “do it” for him. Daniel is a strip club owner and we already know what goes with that territory; until one day the unlikely occurs.

Enter Rose. Innocent, reasonably green and extremely terrified of her uncertain future, yet, she becomes the instant object of Daniel’s affection, and he can’t get enough.

Not your everyday romance, but it had some good twists, a little mystery, action, heartbreak and...well, just go read it, you won’t be disappointed.

I need to read more short stories.
This was really a quick 20minutes read that you just enjoy instant love and sex tbh.
So, you can't be too critical of the writing and plotline.
It was cute, intense and definitely spicy.
Will love to read the rest of the book series.

His Gift is a short Valentine's romance novella by authors J.L. Beck and Cassandra Hallman. It tells the story of Miles and Rose.

Miles is ruthless, he is no prince charming, he is not a good man, he is a monster, a criminal, a very powerful man, feared by many people, he is am mob boss after all.

Rose is an innocent girl.  She was sold without her knowledge by her foster parents, to a pimp, and now she is given as a gift to a very scary man. Only she will soon find out, that her new owner is not such a monster and cruel man with her.

A very short and hot novella to read. If you are in for instalove and mafia romance, this is the one for you

This was a nice read. In spite of what, he was, I kind of liked Miles. Sure, he wasn't the romantic type. But he was gentle and patient with Rose. And very protective. I also liked his possessiveness. He'd have done anything to protect her, and please her.
Rose was very sweet and innocent. Like a scared puppy. But she was also kind of fierce. She didn't go down without a fight.
Miles and Rose were actually perfect for each other. He's what she needed: he protected her and loved her like no one had ever in her life. And she's what he needed: sweet and innocent, she brought a bit of kindness and light into his dark, rough life.

What a great Novella. Its usually a hit or miss with me. This book was a hit. Miles is dark with a criminal career. Rose is young innocent with a hard past . Rose is given to Mikes a gift. Naked with nothing but a red bow on her. Rose has no memory as to what happened and how she got there. The mystery unfolds, A great Dark romance.

A short sexy beauty and the beast kind of story. The heroine is the epitome of sweet, innocent, and naïve. The hero is the big bad man who is soft for her. The book skates the line between fun sexual fantasy and silly parody of a romance, but it mostly manages to stay on the right side of the line. Would have been better if it were all from Miles’ point of view. Not a bad read if you have a little time to kill and want something mindless.

His Gift is an instant love story with a mafia-type vibe. Miles and Rose are pushed together but that doesn't mean it isn't true love. Miles will do anything to keep Rose. But Rose is more than okay with that.

Miles is ruthless and always gets what he wants. Will he convince Rose that he won’t hurt her but be his forever? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and intense chemistry. I was hooked from beginning to end.

For some reason, I totally missed the part of the guy being involved in shady business when I first heard of this novella. LOL. Rose and Miles were insta-love and super cute, considering the circumstances. Miles was the exact bad boy this story needed. Angry, possessive, loving and adorable at the same time. He’s not to be messed with and his choices throughout the story prove that. Rose is a cute buttercup that winds up in this dark world and I felt for the girl! I enjoyed the quick development of Rose and Miles love story. Short, snappy and romantic as hell for a dark romance hehe. It was an easy and fun read, an entertaining page turner!

A Gift that he is definitely not returning

His Gift is an interesting insta-love dark story that was engaging. It is about Rose and Miles. She is a naive young woman who was raised in foster care and all of a sudden finds herself as a gift/payment to Miles. She has been given to him by Drake in what he thinks will be payment for a debt that he owes Miles. Miles will definitely take Rose but unfortunately for Drake he is not going to take her as payment. It seems Miles has instantly fallen for Rose and all he wants to do is protect her and he is determined to never let her go.
Miles is a criminal and hard man with a reputation that proceeds him. He owns and runs a strip club, has an underground gambling game and other things. This is how Drake got into debt with him that he cannot pay off.
What happens between Miles and Rose is lovely and steamy. She is so frightened and he does not want to scare her any more than she already is. He is going to make sure that she is never scared again and that no one will ever do anything to her again. His big bad possessive and protective Alpha has come out full force but he is also very gentle with Rose. Rose cannot imagine how anything good could happen after finding herself in this position. But she eventually lets Miles start to take care of her and then some cute and steamy chemistry hits her also.
Even though this novella does start a bit dark, after all she is given as a payment of a debt without knowing what was happening, it also is lighter than the authors normal stories. So in the end this Valentines story is romantic, sexy, filled with emotion and a whole lot of hot and steamy sexy scenes. This was a great book and one that I would recommend if you already like these authors or if you are okay with a bit of darkness mixed with your Valentines Day hearts and flowers.

This is a novella that is a insta love story that will draw you in and have you reading until the very end in one sitting. This is the story of Mike and Rose. Mike is dark and has a criminal career. Rose is young and innocent with a past that is really really rough. However when she is giving to Mike as a gift she has no idea how she got there or what happened for her to be given as a gift to a man that she is afraid of. You have to read to figure out what has happened and what all is going on. I loved this story. I loved that it was a dark romance too. You don't want to miss this book. It is amazing.

Miles And Rose's Dark Story Is A Quick Read With A Taste Of Danger, Violence, And Desire!


When Drake comes up short on the money he owes him, Miles is presented with a gift. The young and innocent-looking girl, naked and wrapped in a bow, attracts him like a siren. He feels an immediate connection and an overwhelming urge to protect her and to claim her as his.

Rose doesn't remember how she came to be in the basement of a strip club with Drake passing her off like a prize. Miles is handsome, rugged, and terrifyingly big, but when she is alone with him she feels safe for the first time in her life. He asks her to trust him, but trust doesn't come easily.

Miles and Rose's dark story is a quick read with a taste of danger, violence, and desire. Miles is tamed by Rose's innocence and inexperience, but at the same time he can't look weak in front of his men. The couple gets their happy ending.

The story is nicely written. It is plot-driven. The plot is fairly simple but packs a lot of action and steam given the length. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Miles and Rose. I rate this book 3.5 stars.

Once I started reading it I couldn't stop til I finished it, I thought it was that great a short erotica read! And I so look forward to seeing more from this author in the future because I really enjoyed her work! It had a great storyline and great characters to read about to, plus it's sizzling hot.Everyone fears Miles , he has his hands in everything. He runs his strip clubs, has a gambling party in the basement and all kinds of bad things.So when Drake owes him 30, 000 and only has 5, 000.He might be in trouble. But he also brings Miles a gift thinking everything will be a ok between them.But Miles says he still owes the rest of the money. And the gift is a young 18 yr old Rose that Miles wants at first sight. And even though he might be scary at first, she feels safe with him and comes to love him and he feels the same way.So if you want a really great read go ge this one, its so worth IT . ENJOY
