Vicious Vows by Kristen Luciani is book Two in the Reckless Reign Trilogy. This continues the story of Kyla Costigan and Patrick Mulligan "Patty", so you should read the previous book 'Corrupted Crown' before starting this one. This book does pick up where we left off. Patty has now become the leader of the Crown family. In addition to that he is working to protect the family but his focus has turned to keeping Kyla safe/ protected. Kyla starts to grown more into the women she is set to become. These two have grown and there is more yet in their story which continues on in Tarnished Throne.

This is the second book in the Reckless Reign series by Kristen Luciani. You have to read Corrupted Crown first or you are going to be lost. This books picks right back up where that one left off. It was so great to be back with Patty and Kyla. Yep his name is Patty but really Patrick Mulligan. He is now the leader of the Crown family and he has a huge job to keep his family protected but he also can't stop thinking about Kayla and keeping her safe and protected too. Patty never wanted to be the the leader of the Crown family. But we don't always get a choice in life in what we have to do. Seems like all the guy gets done is cleaning up one mess or the other while keeping Kyla safe from not only his enemies but her families enemies as well. He is determined to do right by his family though and he doesn't worry about himself any but her, always her. Her father isn't happy about them being a couple and there is a huge scare with him but he assures him that he has been in love with Kyla since he was little and that's not going to change. We also meet Tarryn who was mentored by Kyla's mom before she was killed and wanted Kyla to continue to mentor her. I think this girl has some serious problems. She kept giving me this vibe that something was really off with her but I can't quiet figure out what it is. There is always next book. This one was as good as the first and I can not wait for the next on. This is a fast paced book with violence, secrets, lies and deception afoot through the entire thing and I loved every second of it.

This book shows the chaotic life that Patrick leads. He is trying to pick the pieces of his family up, but his enemies have him in their sights. Kyla is trying to navigate a new normal for herself. This book has a lot going on. The suspense is building, truths coming to light. It is questionable where the actual threat is coming from.
Patrick is trying to keep his family together and rebuilding their family business in the wake of his brother’s death and bad decisions that predate him taking over.
The hits keep coming as they barely escape a kidnapping scheme that could have ended so much worse. But, now they have the Juarez Cartel watching their every move.
Patrick is trying to get his family in the syndicate and with the help of his brother in law he may very well succeed.
He needs the plan to go right. His family's livelihood depends on it. Plus, the protection that would come with it.

Book #2 of this trilogy has packed on an unbelievable amount of suspense, drama, and sexiness. It is riveting. Everything is getting intense, the families are getting heated and the dangers are everywhere. Every single character has me engrossed, even the ones I am not a fan of.
So Exciting! SO GOOD!!!
I can't wait for the answers to finally come, just when I think I have it all figured out...NOPE, not yet. Need the next book now!!!

This picks up right where the last book left off. Patty is doing a job he never wanted – he never wanted to be the leader in the Crown family, but unfortunately, we don’t always get what we want. Patty seems to always be cleaning up one mess after another and at the same time is trying to protect Kyla from all the enemies – not only his, but her families as well. Patty wants to do what’s right by his family, but more importantly, he wants to protect Kyla at all costs – he’s not worried about him, but only her. Some could see that as a weakness and try to use that against him. Patty’s dad is not doing well and when there is a scare, he opens up a little to Patty about how his mom would be disappointed, but Patty assures his dad that he has been ion love with Kyla for as long as he can remember. A new character is introduced – Tarryn, who was mentored by Kyla’s mom. before she was killed. She specifically asked for Kyla to be her new mentor – something is off with this girl and I expect that we will see more of her in the next book.
There is drama, violence, secrets, lies, deception, disrespect, loyalty, family, passion, chemistry, twists and turns, and betrayal. Just when you think Patrick and Kyla are going to get their HEA something always happens. This installment of the trilogy was nonstop action from beginning to end. Kyla and Patrick grow closer as more threats swirl around them. It was satisfying getting to see the layers of Patrick and his underlying foundation to protect all he cares for. Kyla grows more and more into the role of mafia wife. there is danger and a mole in the family threatening everyone. The cliffe was a huge rush! ~Cindy

Kristen Luciani delivers a story about family, power, vengeance and love wrapped in a mafia setting that makes the story and characters that much more exciting. Once again she ends the book in a MAJOR cliffhanger that left my heart pumping and my palms sweaty. I need the final book asap.

Vicious Vows is the second installment of Kristen Luciani Reckless Reigin Trilogy series. An Enemies to Lovers Arranged Marriage Dark Irish Mafia Romance. Patrick and Kyla story continues from where things left off in Corrupted Crown and one thing for sure lives gets more dangerous as enemies lurks in background to take Patrick down. Patty has so much on his shoulder as the newly minted Mulligan leader because he not only has to keep his family safe by eradicating all their enemies he has to same for his wife so that his enemies can't use them as leverage against him. He's doing the best a job that he did not ask for with no training but has no choice but to accept the position. He's just a protector and he always worrying and determined to that harm comes to his family and Kyla but runs through fire because he doesn't worry about himself. Patty is constantly cleaning up messes and putting out fire Vicious Vows he's almost killed as Patty was abducted by Castilla men's. Castilla is owed a large sum of money and in this business you only have two choices pay what is owed with money or with your live. Patrick had to put on the performance of his life with some fast talking to convince Castilla in order to escape their crutches.

In the first book Corrupted Crown we are introduced to Patrick and Kyla. Their families have known each other for years first through the relationship between their fathers. That relationship seemed to have ended years ago but the sons of each Patrick and Logan (Kyla's brother) continued with the two being best friends. Patrick, however, broke the best friend code by starting an on/ off relationship with Kyla. Patrick's family is Irish mafia and Kyla's family is more mainstream corporate.
Kyla's family has been tormented by the murder of her mother and her attempted murder several years prior. The killer was someone known to the family but was recently released from jail due to a technicality. The killer appears to be setting his sights back on Kyla.
Patrick's family has been in turmoil since his older brothers got into trouble with the cartel and put their livelihood at risk by failing to deliver on promises made. The cartel is now seeking retribution but as Patrick is finding out the family is now broke and is unable to repay the debt.
The fathers meet and decide the best way to keep Kyla safe and protect Patrick's family is for the two to be married and join the families. Although Kyla and Patrick do truly love each other there are so many secrets and lies that they can't seem to stop fighting long enough to communicate with each other. They find themselves in danger at every turn between Kyla's would be killer and the cartel.

As a consumer of SO many different books, novels, novellas and short stories, I highly recommend reading all 3 of the books in this series. Obviously start with the first in the trilogy “Corrupted Crown” as it is the start of this fast moving, super hot, mafia romance trilogy. If you start with this one you will be a bit lost and this one does leave a bit of a cliffhanger leading up to the third in the trilogy “Tarnished Throne.”
Patrick “Patty” Mulligan, playboy philanthropist and semi-celebrity has just been handed the keys to his father’s kingdom and throneship to the Mulligan crime family instead of his older brother Nail, who always assumed he would be the one to get the crown. Along with this - a marriage arrangement. To the woman he’s been secretly and not to secretly bedding and pining over for several years. And things don’t go over so well.
The fast paced back and forth mystery in this second installment did not disappoint. The readers gets a bigger peek into internal workings of the issues left by Patty’s predecessor and also starts to work and “work” through some of the issues that Patrick and Kyla exposed in the first installment.
The dialogue is witty, seductive and all around naughty but oh so perfect for the characters that Luciani has established and she creates the perfect flow between them all. In some novels that I’ve read - even though the author indicates a change in point of view - the verbiage and personality of the characters are all the same. That is not the case in this story.
I absolutely love the advancement of Heaven's character as well. We didn’t get much of a view of her in the first novel but we find out a little bit more about her and Matteo's backstory in this one.

Whaaaat? THERE’S A THIRD BOOK?! I was so not expecting the cliffhanger and third book. I was looking forward to their happy ever after but I’m totally okay with a third book because I’m loving Patty and Kyla’s story.
Vicious Vow starts off where Corrupted Crown left us hanging, with Kyla and Patty having had an argument over things that could jeopardize their marriage. They’re immediately met with unexpected danger and Kyla finds her strength while Patty finds deep down what he wants to fight for. As the book progresses we see them ultimately end up on the same page in regards to what they want, how they want to be with each other and for each other, and what they’re going to do about all the dangers lurking around their happy ever after.
I have been looking forward to this book ever since I finished the last sentence in Corrupted Crown. I’d been itching for Patty’s story since I first met him in Savage Ruler, Kristen’s Sinfully Savage series (go read series). He’s the family cleaner, the face of the Irish mafia and he’s now the new Boss. He’s marrying his best friends sister, the smart and savvy billionaire princess who is finding her place in the mafia world alongside Patty. They’re a perfect match and I’ve loved everything about their story.
I really enjoyed this book! I’m super happy that Kristen had expanded this mafia world the way she has. I love all the connections between all the books and I’m always looking forward to what’s next. This book is a definite recommendation for those who love the mafia romances. This one is full of suspense, spicy scenes, family drama and all the boss things! So good!

Learning more about how Patrick handles threats against his family, diving further into the king world of Patrick Mulligan, and witnessing the depths at which he will go to protect her made for an emotional whirlwind of excitement.

Learning more about Kyla’s character was rather interesting. She’s fierce, strong, and brave under her princess exterior and not afraid to stand by Patty’s side through everything. And, we were able to be introduced to her first troubled teen girl to mentor and she has her hands full!

*While not required, I would highly recommend reading the Sinfully Savage Series before reading this series as it gives great historical content for many of the main characters. Vicious Vows is the second book of the Reckless Reign Trilogy and continues Kyla and Patrick’s story. For this reason, I would also suggest reading the previous book of this series, Corrupted Crown before reading.

Patrick still has two major enemies that need to be dealt with. One has been inherited from his brothers screwing people over and the other is from Kyla’s past. Still not thrilled that he was all but forced to take over the family, Patrick finally truly comes to terms with what this means not only for himself but for Kyla. It is in this book that he finally embraces the new position and begins to play the part not because he wants but because his life and that of Kyla’s depends on him thinking like the boss that he is. Patrick will stop at nothing to protect Kyla from her enemies and his. This requires him to make a deal with Pedro Castilla. As plans unfold, new realizations throw a wrench in the plan. Unfortunately for Patrick, his newest enemy, a newly appointed boss, has a lot to prove not only to his rivals but those within his family and plans to make an example of him one way or another.
Meanwhile, Massey is still on the loose and has made several appearances. Not trusting Massey and determined to keep his word, Patrick continues to ensure there are eyes on Kyla at all times. He takes her everywhere he goes when possible. It is one of these times that they find out just how dangerous of a threat Massey is and Patrick goes on the offensive. Will Patrick and his allies be able to take down their enemies and survive or, will the mess made by everyone around them be too much for them?
I enjoyed this book. I especially love the world that has been created and how it continues to expand to give us such intriguing characters and their stories. Kyla and Patty just can’t seem to catch a break. Both are trying to build a life together but run into roadblocks at every turn no matter how hard they fight. This book ends with another cliffhanger but I am invested in the story and I cannot wait for the next and final book to see how it all ends although, I have a theory or two.

oh my oh my Patty!!!
Book two of this trilogy was the perfect love story for Patty and Kyla! While they finally were able to be together AND accept being together, too many threats are still in the outlying. I mean I suppose it’s the way the Mafia is, especially when your the boss. One major threat gone, one left, with many many more to come I’m sure.
Kyla is taking a step in the right direction to get stronger. She doesn’t want to be caught unprepared again, and I LOVE IT! Plus the strength she felt in herself when she started learning, was amazing! Patrick is trying to navigate a life he never wanted, mob boss, but he is doing it in a spectacular way while paving his own path and it awesome to see. Their relationship it still steamy 🔥 🥵 and the possessiveness Patrick shows towards Kyla both in and out of the bedroom is 💦 and it only increases tenfold at the end!
Kyla and PATRICK are able to FINALLY have their wedding and focus on their family, but not without many hitches along the way. It would seem both sides of the families are beginning to accept their relationship, even if with hesitation. Oh, soo much to love in this one! If you are new to this author, you just found one to add to your "favorites" list.
This is book two of this series, and did not disappoint. Buckle up for this emotional, adrenaline filled read, full of all the things we LOVE in a Mafia read.
From the beginning, I knew I would not be able to put this down until the last page. Fortunately the pages turned themselves and I was lost in their world for a while. So good!
About halfway through this read, it was really intense and was a great rush (of lots of emotions) that didn't let up until the very end. I loved it!
What I didn't love was the hard cliffhanger, dropped at the very end!! Argggh!!! I have to say, it was a pretty good way to drop it. Even if I hate it...
This author consistently provides gripping and emotional reads, filled with all of the best a Mafia story offers: Family, Drama, Guns, Vendettas, Blood, Love, Sex, Intrigue, and Revenge. All written with a skill possessed by few in this genre today.
I strongly recommend reading this book in the correct reading order, to get the most from the story and series. What is ultimately the best way to enjoy this is to have a solid understanding of her other series and characters. Totally worth your time.

Kyla's and Patrick's story continues in Vicious Vows. The action ramps up crazily. New vows imerge including someone who wants Patrick dead. Mysterious strangers pop up, and one aspect of the story comes to dramatic end. Meanwhile, Kyla and Patrick just want to celebrate the fact that their love is finally on track.
Kristen Luciani proves once again that she can juggle suspense, family drama, and a great love story. Each aspect is given the attention to detail it needs without taking time away from the other parts of the story. One thing that stands out is her mastery of writing about family bonds from friends who are brother's to the bond between a brother and a crazy sister. From Kristen's writing you understand why some people make illogical and often detrimental choices because of love of family.
Kristen shows the same care with Patrick and Kyla's relationship. Their path from adversaries in the first book to the acknowledgement of their love in Vicious Vows is understandable and compelling. You are cheering them on hoping for their HEA.
Vicious Vows ends on a hell of a cliffhanger. I for one can not wait for their conclusion in the next book. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

How does one love in a world ruled by deception, destruction, death? KLP pulls NO punches with this series! She has characters that run the gamut within her story. Some... you will hate to love and others you will love to hate, and then there is Patty. Fate is fickle. She does not play fair. Patty is one that you can not quite pin down but yet you know he is beyond dangerous. He does not want to be responsible for the burdens he has to carry but he is also not one to back down from anything. So he steps up showing and proving to all that he is the man. A Man prepared to protect his and all who dare to come, be prepared for war. Enter Kyla... a woman who is stronger than she knows, in such a way that when the fire roars and cinders are falling she will be there walking with her arms wide open toward him, through the ash being left by the raging inferno she reaches for him. Fighting for everything and HIM. With the twists and turns that are happening you are in for a delicious, absorbing story. Trust me, you will want this series on your shelf and I highly recommend that you pick up ALL of KLPs works as she is a remarkably phenomenal author and story teller! Oh the way these characters are written is eloquence and beautiful. KLP I adore this author and I know you will too!

Patty and Kyla’s story keeps getting better. This picks off right where Corrupted Crown ends, so you need to read that first. These two have already dealt with a lot, but they are now dealing with even more coming at them. Not only do we have one crazy character, but another who is even crazier.😱 Are they still going to be getting married or will everything come crumbling down around them? We have, the cartel crazies, cops and a stalker. There is more suspense, Patty has to find out how to save him and Kyla and keep them safe. They have help in the way of family. You can tell more and more that these two are meant to be together. Patty is going to do anything and everything in his power and beyond to make sure that Kyla is safe and protected. Kristen is weaving a great and anction packed story with Patty and Kyla. They are both growing individually and as a couple and bringing out the emotions. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Another Absolutely Addictive Page Turner!
Vicious Vows is the second book of the ‘Reckless Reign’ trilogy and continues the story of Patrick and Kyla. Patrick is to succeed to the head of the Mulligan crime family, a position he doesn’t want but reluctantly accepts, at the same time as fighting to keep his true love, Kyla, safe and protected from both her and his enemies.
Another 5 star read from Ms Luciani that keeps you riveted from start to finish. This book is most definitely NOT a standalone and must be read in order after ‘Corrupted Crown’. It also ends on yet another spine tingling cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the third and final book, ‘Tarnished Throne’, to discover the conclusion of this captivating and enthralling tale. Such a great read that keeps the pages turning.
A highly recommended intense story full of drama and suspense, twists and turns, danger and violence, betrayal and revenge, and all-consuming love and RED HOT passion. Altogether a fabulous dark Mafia romance.

Another 5 star read from Ms Luciani that keeps you riveted from start to finish. This book is most definitely NOT a standalone and must be read in order after ‘Corrupted Crown’. It also ends on yet another spine tingling cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the third and final book, ‘Tarnished Throne’, to discover the conclusion of this captivating and enthralling tale. Such a great read that keeps the pages turning.
A highly recommended intense story full of drama and suspense, twists and turns, danger and violence, betrayal and revenge, and all-consuming love and RED HOT passion. Altogether a fabulous dark Mafia romance.

OMG, this series!! Once I get started reading I really had a really hard time putting this book down! This is my favorite series of any author I've read in 2021!
This story picks right up where Book 1 left off. Poor Patty is still cleaning up messes and once again, he's on the brink of being killed. Castilla's goons have Patty again and he's got to do some fast talking and fast thinking to get out of this one. Money is owed, debts must be paid, but he's got to find away to make Castilla believe he can get it. Will he escape in one piece?
Kyla and Patty finally admit they are in love and the engagement is for real. Kyla is in as much danger as Patty is with the mob. Patty wants to protect her and thinks maybe he needs to let her go? Ugh...men!
Another great addition to this series! I love the characters so much! Many twists and turns and too many yelling at Patty episodes from me! These stories are so in depth of what's going on, that the author makes you feel like you are immersed in the journey! Made me want to read faster, yet savor it! Great story, can't wait for book 3!

More. You are going to want more of this story, so much more. This book picks up right where Corrupted Crown left off. Kyla and Patrick are on the outs and caught in precarious situations.
It feels like the world is simultaneously pushing them together while trying to tear them apart. Realizing how close they came to losing each other they are determined yo weather these storms together. Family drama, long time mysteries, cartel problems and an obsessed lethal stalker, this story is packed with conflict and heart and steam.

Fast burn (20%), sexy scenes are fairly vanilla but yummy, no condoms, no virgins, slight push away from H ( he feels like he’s not good for her), no breakups or separation, no cheating, no OW/OM drama. This is book 2 of a trilogy so this story is far from over, there is a cliffhanger that smarts. Book 3, the final book, is due out in November (2021), so we don’t have to wait to long. I’ll be counting the days!

Book 2 in the Reckless Reign Trilogy: This enemies-to-lovers book directly follows the cliffhanger in Corrupted Crown. Patty has the biggest shoulders-he is carrying the consequences of decisions made by his father and brother Conor; he has to look after Kyla, and her miserable father Bobby and her now-angry brother Logan; his own brother Niall, drenched in alcohol; his family and friends. It’s a tough life when you’ve no idea who is being targeted—it doesn’t help you figure out which enemy is after you—or maybe there are simultaneous multiple enemies! The story of Patty and Kyla has action-filled twists and turns, and it is nowhere near done yet! We’ve seen a lot of the doctor and hospitals in this this book and we’re again left with a cliffhanger but I don’t care! The story is sooo good, and the characters are developing and becoming more memorable to me. Tarnished Throne is up next, and I’m impatiently waiting.

This book picked right back up from that nail biting cliffhanger from Corrupted Crown. The action and suspence starts from the very beginning and does not stop. Patrick is now head of the Family and he will do whatever it takes to protect the ones he loves. Patrick and Kyla finally admit to each other their love, we even get a surprise pregnancy thrown in there. But Patrick and Kyla are fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, so not that really much of a surprise. Lol. Patrick takes care of Kyla's little problem from the first book, Edward Massey. Patrick has a little talk with him, could the things that we believe Massey did been someone else all along? Patrick and Kyla finally get married and on their wedding day of course we have Patrick's brother Niall causing problems. Patrick's Dad has something to tell Patrick about Kyla. What was it, we will have to read the final book in the trilogy- Tarnished Throne: An Enemies to Lovers Arranged Marriage Dark Irish Mafia Romance (Reckless Reign Trilogy Book 3) to find out. I am now definitely a fan of Kristen Luciani.

Vicious Vows is the second book in the Reckless Reign Trilogy, so that means YOU MUST READ Corrupted Crown (Book 1) FIRST! It picks right back up where the previous book left off, and there are a lot of moving parts going on. Kyla's family is trying to keep her safe from her mother's murderer along with Patty who is also trying to get his family out of trouble because of decisions his brother's made with the cartel. I'm telling you I was on the edge of my seat cover to cover with everything going on & suspicious of everyone LOL! See, the twists are coming in hot, while the action is amping up, and the heat is sizzling so I was in heaven despite the fact that I knew it would be another cliffhanger ending that would have me dying inside for more because I'm seriously ALL IN! So I'm going to keep this review short & sweet so I don't give anything away, and to see what happened you'll have to hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Vicious Vows is the second installment in the Reckless Reign Trilogy and it's not being easy for Patty and Kyla!
Patrick has his hands full trying to dodge the 'bullets' aimed at him and Kyla from every known and unknown corner, with two big problems weighting on his shoulders with no resolution in sight: to get his family and business of the ground and protecting his woman from a deranged individual once and for all.
A lot is at stake and new alliances have to be made to ensure success and tranquility.
I enjoyed this book way more than the first one: the same problems, more action, more understanding between the couple, a deeply 🔥🔥🔥felt🔥🔥🔥 love, a dangerouns threat dealt with, Patty, the honorable 'thug' and lots of secrets to unveil.
And that ending.....OMG! What conundrum lies behind it all? I want to know...fast and furious!

This is the second book in this series by this author. This book carries on from book one with the story of Patrick and Kyla, this part of their story is such an amazing gripping read from start to finish. This story is full of suspense, drama, violence, twists and turns, passion and betrayal. This is one hot and steamy read from this author. This book ends with a big cliffhanger ending so be worn, you will be wanting and needing the third book as soon as possible. This is an amazing addition to this series from this author.

The hits just keep coming for Patrick and Kyla. Just when they have an idea of what people are coming after them someone else shows up to knock them down. Patrick is trying to keep Kyla safe from the complications that come with his life, but he can't. Kyla knows that being with Patrick puts a target on her back but doesn't want to leave him. Once things seem to have settled down Patrick and Kyla go out not knowing what's waiting for them. Kyla is attacked by her stalker and Patrick does everything he can to make it right. Patrick doesn't know that Kyla being attacked was just the start of things. When the meeting he had planned at his nightclub goes sideways and the police show up everything is thrown out the window. What Patrick thought was his way out is only getting him deeper into a hole. Will Patrick be able to save himself and Kyla before it is too late?
