I thought that coming home to Sunset for the break would make everything better.
But I think it’s just going to make everything worse.
WARNING: Dawn is the fifth book The Sunset Beach High series. This is NOT a standalone and since it's part of an ongoing series, you may find some cliffhangers. But they're worth it! It contains mature themes, sexual content, and profanity. If you're not a fan of those things, this isn't the book for you. But if you like serious stuff mixed with lots of bad words and some sweaty sex, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU.
So glad to be back in Sunset Beach! :D This was my first and favorite McKayla Box series. I missed Trevor and Presley, but what the heck has Trevor got himself into?
Presley has been at school while Trevor has been back in Sunset, supposedly working for his dad, but Trev has been keeping things from Pres. She comes home for winter break and her suspicions grow worse with his strange behavior. Not sure if I would have gone through the whole tracking and following thing she did, but that's Presley for you. That cliffhanger, though, ughhh. Need the next book quick, McKayla, please!

I was a little worried about reading this book since I had read the series before hand and the last books ending was quite a good one. However this book brought me right back to the world and I loved it. The story line was interesting and I love Trevor and Presley together as a couple. I'm excited for the next book for what's to come since the cliffhanger left me wanting to know more. Definitely recommend!

Books 1-4 were good but this one I really didn't care for.. Presley was annoying as hell I get being worried and all but once Trevor asked her to trust him she should have...He was keeping stuff from her but then he let her in as much as he could but that still wasn't good enough for her.. And I know Trevor loves Brett like a brother, but he needs to be dropped..I'm risking my life to help you and you're stealing from the people you owe money...Brett clearly don't care for Trevor and his safety.

As the old saying goes, this read had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t stop to sleep. I had to finish it in 1 day…Not even 24 hours. My reviews never “reveal” info that will spoil the read. I love the SBH series. It’s like mystery, thriller, and hot romance in each book. I’m so impatient for Book 6, DUSK. McKayla Box, I love your style of writing and imagination.
This book wasnt long enough and it was like a whirlwind of literally like a week.. if that!
I still really like this series but this storyline completely came out of left field. I think we all knew what Trevor was doing. Going on a boat? I mean, what else would they be doing!
Even though I like the series, this book is my least favourite so far. I don’t know, it just seemed a little far fetched I think.
I hope this series gets redeemed in the next.

This one i felt was just okay. I was honestly annoyed at Presley’s behavior. Like i get the worrying but why would you put yourself into a situation with no back up, nothing to protect yourself, and with no knowledge about what you’re getting into. I’m still team #trevor&presley but this one wasn’t a fav.
Everytime I pick up this author's book I know I'm in it for a treat and this one was no different. Talk about a cliffhanger though. I cannot wait for the next book. I loved the first person point of view of the story, this is always a deal breaker for me.

Just when you think you've figured it out, another crisis. For young people, Trevor and Presley have a soul deep love. But that may not be enough to protect their future. Will they get back together? Is there a future for them? Or is everything just done? Here comes another ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 📖♥️er stars.
Reminded me so much of one tree hill where the story line goes from basic high school problems to intense killing scenes! The beginning was a bit boring, had no idea what was happening with Trevor! But once the killing happened and when he disappeared it got really interesting! That cliffhanger too like the guy is coming to kill you what are you supposed to do with him!?

She comes home from college for Christmas break. He is being secretive and she finds that he hasn't been telling her about the things that have changed in his life. Nothing seem to be adding up so she goes on a mission with her girls to figure it out.
We Return to Sunset Beach! Where Friends Help Friends Try & Get Out of Trouble
It’s been at while since I’ve read about the crew of Sunset Beach. It took me a while through the first few chapters to “get the lay of the land” so to speak. Reacquaint myself with Presley, Bridget, Maddie, and Gina. And, to remember her relationship with Trevor.
But when McKayla took us back to when these two first met on the beach, it all came flooding back.
So. In this book Presley has returned from college, met up with her girly gang of friends. It all parties on the beach, breakfast burritos, and… intrigue ? Because. As much as Presley as reaffirm her girls friendships, it’s her relationship with Trevor that appears to be under a cloud at the start of this book. He doesn’t seem as attentive. He feels as if he is ghosting her at times. Things don’t look much better for these two when, not one, but TWO women show up in his life that Presley doesn’t know. AND! Why his he being so vague about what he, and his best friend Brett are up too?
It’s this secrecy that proves to be this couples undoing… Well, THAT and Presley allowing her curiosity to get the better of her. Because, ..You See…it her desperate nosiness to discover what’s going on with her boyfriend and his friend that cause an almighty huge problematic rift for these two.
A problem that Presley pulls Trevors young cousin Sunny into, placing everyone’s lives at risk.
“He told me to trust him. That if I trusted him everything would be okay. We’d jump together and we’d land together and we’d be okay.
Together.”
And there in lies Presley’s problem…She really didn’t trust Trevor ENOUGH to stay out of his business with Brett landing herself in the poo. Great read… Really keeps In interested in finding out what the boys are in to. And that ending…WOW!
But seriously, Presley could have avoided a lot of problems if she had just done what Trevor asked. But then, we wouldn’t have had a story. ****
