“I knew about the cameras. He didn’t know I liked being watched.”
After her best friend quits her job working as a house manager for a billionaire because there were cameras all around, Wynn decides to get the job for herself. Then start teasing her new boss through the cameras...
(* This book is short-ish and extra spicy with only the thinnest thread of plot, and a HEA. If that doesn’t sound like what you’re looking for, this may not be the book for you.)
Jessica Gadziala is a USA Today bestselling author who lives in rural New Jersey with her parrots, dogs, and an ever-growing collection of houseplants. A lifelong dreamer, she’s been writing stories since childhood and published her first book in 2015. When not at her desk, she’s usually feeding backyard birds, rewatching crime dramas, period pieces, and 90s supernatural TV shows, or adding to her towering stacks of unread books.
Well from the cover alone you know that I Like Being Watched is going to be spicy. However, I didn’t expect how brazen our heroine would be. I mean kudos, because this girl had an admirable amount of confidence. Going into this story you can expect loads of naughtiness, a boss who doesn’t know where to look and a girl who simply knows what she likes…
I didn't get hot and bothered by the idea of their hands on me, but rather the way they couldn't control themselves because of me.
It was, at its core, a pretty narcissistic kink.
Wynn Downey has a kink that she enjoys, and doesn’t need to feel shame for. Being an exhibitionist is something Wynn thrives on. Apart from being a struggling artist and in desperate need of a steady income, applying for the house manager role comes with other perks...
Nothing crazy.
Nothing that would get me fired.
I just want to tease the lines of propriety.
Just something to give me a bit of a fix.
Fitzwilliam Buchanan is a successful and wealthy business man. Thus, the necessity for privacy and security around his home. A multitude of cameras seems excessive but it’s the perfect playground for his new employee. Initially Fitz finds it coincidental that he regularly views Wynn in compromising positions around his home, until the penny drops. At what a moment that is.
Wynn was one sly minx. She knew exactly how to tantalise her boss whilst giving off an innocent persona. It was quite applaudable. And poor Fitz, he couldn’t wrap his head around what was transpiring in his home. But if Wynn wanted to play…who was he to say no?
Wynn has a fetish of being watched. When her best friend Perry leaves her job due to Fitz house is full of cameras, Wynn applies for the job. It's funny, it's sexy, it's sweet.
We almost forget why Fitz have all the hidden cameras. It could be better, some dialogues are poor, but it's a good for entertainment.
Wynn Downey, she is a struggling artist … so she works various jobs to support herself while she works on becoming noticed as a serious artist
Wynn, her best friend (Perry) has this amazing job in Wynn opinion as house manager sprawling estate, you know one of those houses that looked like it was from Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous … So, Perry didn’t like the fact that her boss had cameras in places that wouldn't normally catch people in compromising positions. So, say that the man was paranoid, was putting it mildly
Wynn had a fetish for being watched and by getting this job with Fitzwilliam Buchanan. She figures that she could fulfill that fetish with a man that had cameras everywhere imaginable in his home and then some This was the anticipation of getting a chance to fulfill her need to be watched
So, I walked into this book thinking k this going to be very hot and streamy read, which from what I read was… but for some reason I just couldn’t connect with this story … I end up dnf this book at about 48% which completely surprise me, cuz anyone who knows me, knows that I’m JG book lover… so I guess after reading over 40+ books from this author that I only had 1 dnf book is pretty damn good in my opinion … So, whatever my review or thoughts on this book shouldn’t discourage you from reading this book yourself!
Brief plot: Poor early-20s recent-college-grad h gets a job as a housekeeper/house-manager for late-20s workaholic businessman H. By 30%, H found out h knew about his hidden cameras & had been deliberately flashing him while cleaning/etc. He tries to avoid her but can't. h likes the effect she has on him but soon becomes uncomfortable, when realizing that it just wasn't about her exhibitionist fetish with H but more with him.
The GOOD: Smutty-sexy & funny. Fast-paced writing with witty-sexy dialogue that drove up H&h's sexual chemistry & made for some hot sexual scenes, although actual sex didn't happen until 60% of the book. S chemistry also due to the forbidden element of their boss-employee relationship, which mattered a lot to both. And I liked that about them--that both had self-control & weren't just having sex willy-nilly coz they were horny for each other.
Likable characters especially h's combo of being artistic yet practical/sexually adventurous yet level-headed/mischievous yet professional/confident yet insecure in some things and H's combo of hardworking & driven with caring & quiet generosity. Good character development with both H&h becoming aware of their deep feelings for each other & how that was vastly different than they've ever felt/been with any other. Loved how H became obsessed & kinda-stalkery with h (which she made easy by the deliberate sexy shows she puts on for him in his multiple hidden-cameras in his house) so he couldn't stop watching the daily video camera feeds of her. Loved how H became more growly possessive-claimy “mine” with any man(including H's younger bro) who'd even consider touching/dating h. Yet her exhibitionism fires up his never-known voyeur (but only with h) & even exhibitionist(other men seeing him smexxing h was a turn-on in a possessive-claiming-of-h way) kinks. Good emotional development for both, which strengthened their sexual tension. As well as bringing some problems with h later, when she realized that it wasn't just about getting her exhibitionism kicks with H since he mattered like no other man ever has (it was a turn-off for her when her exhibitionism target became aware that she knew she was being watched & tried to pursue her openly).
MEH or the BAD: H was not her 1st exhibitionism target. She's put on striptease shows since she was a teen with a neighbor. She stopped her exhibitionism when the voyeur finds out she knows that he's watching her. So, H is her 1st target who she had sex with. I usually don't like it when it's the h that does the chasing but it worked well in this case since her goal was sexual and not emotional. It was when she realized that she was feeling things for H that she stopped chasing him & started avoiding him.
Sexual History: h had several BFs since she was age 15 until 1 year ago. She considers her lovers/BFs as average guys and enjoyed sex as a release overall but no lasting emotional attachment to any of them. H had lovers but no deep emotional attachments also. No woman until H distracted him from his workaholism. His last date was 6 months ago & last lover even longer than that.
If you know this author, you probably know she can write some hot stuff but also give us some character development. So yes, I liked this one very much even if the references to "how the life of a struggling artist is" and calling the heroine's art "her craft" made me cringe. But whatever, it was a sweet and smutty story so who cares.
Jessica Gadziala is a new to me author. What pushed me to read her book was that amazing cover 🔥😍 Exhibitionism and voyeurism in a relationship are things i like but I don’t read enough about. So I immediately jumped in Wynn and Fitz' story. It was a quick steamy read 🔥
Wynn is an artist in need of money to pay bills; Fitz is a rich business man, whose house is filled with secret camera, in need of a house manager. And let's just say their meeting gonna rock their world 😏😏 Wynn is a force to be reckoned 🤣 the girl has no shame and she loves driving Fitz crazy. And i really liked their dynamics.
Yes, this book is as scorching hot as the title sounds 😈🔥🔥🔥 For all fans of erotic romances it is definitely a must-read.
Wynn love to be watched. Her kink is not to be touched, but the watching give her a thrill and a feeling of power and control over her "secret " voyeur.
So what does an exibitzionist do when she hears that there is an open house manager position in a house with a lot of cameras? Exactly! She really wants to have the job without knowing who her future boss might be.
Ok, before you think this book is only about sex, no, the story is really exciting and funny too. The characters are amazing and their love story is definitely something else, but really beautiful 😍 ❤
Enough spoilers, I can't give you more without spoiling the story.
I love this book and needed exactly this book to pull me out of the reading slump ❤❤❤
Holy HOTNESS Batman!! If you're wanting a SPICY, PHENOMENALLY written novella then you cannot go wrong spending the afternoon with Jessica Gadziala's I Like Being Watched. In just under 165 pages the character ARC and plot lines are beautifully crafted and designed, and even as short as it is, it has the feel of a complete story with nothing missing.
Wynn is a sweet, sexy little exhibitionist, and when she discovers her friend is leaving her job because her boss has cameras all over his house, it's all she can do not to beg for his information to apply. Once she gets the position as house manager, Wynn wastes no time at all making sure she is in a variety of positions that her employer can enjoy, if he's ever really looking at those cameras!!
Fitzpatrick looks like SIN ON A STICK, and smells just as yummy to Wynn, but he seems a little... perhaps, repressed? Little does he know Wynn is going to help him out with that! I absolutely loved the fight he had going on in his own head, the push/pull is absolutely delicious, and over the top sexy!!
In addition to the relationship between Wynn and Fitzpatrick, I loved her relationship with her best friend Perry, and Fitz's antagonistic relationship with his brother Blair. One of the best things about Jessica Gadziala's novellas is that even if there's A LOT of super, spicy sexy times I'm always guaranteed a complete story, and I always want the side characters to have their own story next!!
5 SUPER SPICY ⭐'s for Jessica Gadziala's I Like Being Watched, here's hoping Perry gets her own sexy little novella!!
This was somewhere between a novella and a standard length book, a short and smutty story about a woman that enjoys being watched.
Wynn works various jobs to support herself while she works on becoming noticed as a serious artist. Her best friend is creeped out by an employer who has cameras all over his house. After her best friend quits, Wynn knows it’s the perfect opportunity to give in to her fetish of being watched, while also earning a much needed bigger check. She gets the job and uses the “hidden” cameras to her advantage while performing her daily tasks as house manager.
Fitzwilliam Buchanan is the elder, most responsible son and as such he is the heir of his fathers company and estate. Fitz has a busy life, running the business and making sure that his brother Brett doesn’t go destitute with his party boy lifestyle. He has camera’s in his house to catch a thief, not because he’s a creep. But he does take notice of Wynns ability to always be caught exposed by the camera, it’s become his favorite thing to watch after work.
The only problem is Wynn is only ever interested in the act until she’s caught. What happens when Fitz realizes Wynn is putting on a show? And they couldn’t possibly have an HEA, right? He’s her boss... right?
My relationship with this author is complicated, but apparently I can handle and enjoy her shorter, less plot heavy works. It seems to only be when they're full on novel length that her writing quirks overtake any enjoyment of the story I might be having 🤷🏼♀️
That being said this was a full on smutfest. It read like a teenage boy's wet dream porno with all of the "wardrobe malfunctions" and the employee that can't stop trying to seduce her boss, not to mention Wynn is the very definiton of a bombshell, but I wasn't mad about it. This was a fun, quick, smutty read.
Um, okay, wow, did not expect to love this book as much as I did!! It’s a relatively quick, super-steamy read, but the author managed to pack a lot into the short length. I loved the characters—Wynn was so unapologetically assured—and Fitz and Wynn’s chemistry was off the charts. I’m definitely going to be reading more by this author.
Oh smut gods thank-you Jesus for this gloriously nasty book you have bestowed upon our filthy minds.
Fitzwilliam Buchanan - A tall dark and delicious slice of moody that is richer than sin and appears to be more paranoid than Kim Jong-un. Fitz our delightful grump is a classic work aholic who's in great need of a house manager to keep his shit in order. He's rough around the edges but he's not without a little sweet and a whole lot of passion under his bland front.
When I tell you I lived for him I cannot. So many layers to his personality and so much to give when he finally gave in to his inhibitions.
Wynn... is my kind of woman. The kind that lives for her desires without shame for herself or for those who live the spicy life. She's like wild fire on the pages going after what she wants and no man, house or hidden cameras will stop her. In fact... they only make it better, hotter ... more forbidden. She is a queen. She wears sensuality like a second skin both confident and content in who she is and where she comes from. Not only that, she's a boss at her job and a up and coming artist. What is not to love right?.
When I tell you the build up is INSANE!!!!. I JOKE YOU NOT.
It's INTENSE. Like this heart pounding tension filled kind of chemistry that sets fire to your body and you're hanging on to every world waiting, wondering what's coming next.
I swear my blood pressure was through the fucking roof.
But not only is there this forbidden nasty naughty absolutely epic vibe. You also have this hilarious connection between Wynn and Fitz that you can't help but be amused by. The sneaky antics, the teasing and the temptation.. the bickering and the banter. It all sets the pace for these two very opposite characters who learn, grow and evolve into something positively spectacular together. They blew me away and not only because of the sex. I mean it was fucking phenomenal but they also just had this undeniable connection that could be felt through the pages. Moments of vulnerability that allowed me as a reader to really connect with these characters and fall in love with them.
Their journey is crazy. Its all kinds of forbidden. It's very light on the drama and all about the build up. It's short but not too short. Just the right amount to be able to get who these characters are and to be able to watch them grow. Not only that but we have some very interesting side characters that leave me needing to know more. Jessie is known for her side characters that tease and tempt us and this is no different with the likes of Perry and her kink ... you know I need to know more about that!!!. And of course Blake.. the spoilt baby brother who needs to learn some life lessons. I'm more than curious here.
So it's safe to say I loved this one it's for sure a favourite in her giant collection and will definitely become a staple in my reread collection. A must read for my smut lovers who enjoy a slice of kink with their freaky deaky.
I love when the heroine gives the hero a run for his money!! I loved this confident bitch.
This is a lot sweeter than you’d expect from the title and cover— by the end, it was basically a cozy Christmas romance. Totally recommend as a low-angst escapism read.
Struggling artist Wynn is working dozens of side jobs trying to keep her lights on for another day. When her best friend, Perry, tells her of a house manager position she jumps at the idea. She needs to money….the cameras well…they are just a bonus 😏
Boss man Fitz is 🥵🥵 He’s strung tight with his need for perfection and control in his life. And Wynn is becoming his greatest temptation.
Once the spicy starts…GAWWD! This book is for your kitty-cat!
Fitz constantly has a back and forth with his sweet Wynn…but make no mistake she is HIS.
This is a SPICY novella but it was also soo incredibly sweet at times! I loved seeing what Fitz became 😍
I want Blake’s story so bad!! JG has a habit of creating side characters I NEED to have their own books! We always get some great spice in her books but this was something new and IM HERE FOR IT!
Loved this book...Jessica gadziala is one of my favorites, so of course I had to read this..you will think it's going to be all about sex, but it has so much more it's learning what your partner likes and working together...this book was so tastefully done. Absolutely loved it.
The title and cover brought me to this book lol. But when i started it i kinda wanted to dnf it because the writing was weird but i soldiered on and finally i enjoyed this quick sexy story.
Jessica Gadziala turns up the heat with I LIKE BEING WATCHED so grab the fan and your favorite secret reading spot!
Be prepared for a down and dirty, quick read that takes scorching hot to the next level without digging deep into the emotional side of passion! Not for those with a delicate constitution!
I received a complimentary copy from Jessica Gadziala!
I can’t decide if I should list this as 3 Stars or 4 Stars, so I’ll decide after I write my review.
After writing my review I’ve decided: I Give this Book a 3.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 3.
This is my first book from this Author.
HEA(?): Yes Relationship Type: MF Pacing: Mid-Fast to Fast Predictability: 3-3.5/5 Romance: 3/5 Heat: 3.5-4/5 Drama: 2.5/5 Suspense: 2-2.5/5
The concept for this book is absolutely one of my favorites and is exactly why I purchased this book, the beginning, some of the middle and a few bits of the last of the book was pretty good, but the book was already mid-fast and then suddenly it was hitting the gas and was going faster, therefore became rushed. Everything at the end just seemed too convenient/ too easy.
Clearly storyline wise I believe it’ll pick up in someone else’s book, but it honestly felt like it could’ve just been solved within this book.
The storyline comes off more as a filler, so I was bored but was hanging on for the anticipated heat scenes.
Overall I don’t know what I feel about this book, did I like it or not? I guess I did to some extent but I was not having the usual addictive feeling of jumping right back into a book when I had to step away from it to do something.
I've read some of Jessica's books and so far she is kind of a "hit or miss" to me but this time around, I really enjoyed reading this one.
Wynn was a fun character to read about and Fitz was once again an amazing (and really hot) male character. These two were so fun and cute to read about and I ended up really enjoying their story and the development of their relationship.
If you're in the mood for a fast and hot story, this book is for sure an amazing option.
▬ 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: workplace/office romance (boss x PA), forbidden romance, age gap
Wow Jessica, this book is smoking its so hot!! I mean I couldn't put this book down once I started. Kept me curious to see what would happen next. Great job
