Not Realistic
In the US there are no bike roads to even use an ebike, and the price of shines is nightmarish. I tried to buy an ebike conversion kit by AW on Amazon. It was sewage that never worked. It would not even fit the fork the bike wheel was supposed to go into to run. Amazon refused to give me a refund and I had problems paying bills that month after a useless giant expense. I had hoped an ebike would help me get to extra work shifts. Not everyone has money to burn on an ebike fantasy if it will never work. The author was rich enough to buy a high end electric bike pre made at a high end bike shop. She does not realize how much she sounds like she is saying let them eat cake when she says people struggling should have nothing but broken ebikes for work transportation.

Informative book
This book answers many questions about ebikes and is especially good for someone thinking about purchasing one. One of the most reassuring things is that the author does not keep pushing very expensive ebikes, but let's us retired folks know we can find one we can afford.
