Overview: This book is absolutely amazing. It hits me in my soul and I love it so much, hence the immediate reread While this book is quite heavy when it comes to the trigger response to being sexually assaulted, the way the author handled it is absolutely incredible. Overall, this story is one that I for sure will come back and reread loads of times. There are so many good lessons in this book, and I am so thankful I was able to discover it.
Moving to the characters, I genuinely fell in love with the MC's & their story. I can not put into words how much these characters have stuck with me, and how each of their individual stories stories has also affected me. Starting with Ivy, the way that her character is developed both separate and connected to her trauma is beautifully written, as well as the fact that she is able to be so strong and also break down without getting (to) into her head is amazing. Her character is just such an inspiration and I absolutely love her. Moving to Jackson, the way he is able to open up to ivy, is beautiful in and of itself. I love the way that despite not knowing that she didn't cheat on jay, he still is there for her and helps her through what she is going through. Their relationship development(from both books) is absolutely beautiful and I will forever be reading this series.
I read this only like 3 days ago and have already reread it. I am absolutely in love with these characters and how they develop. I have felt so many emotions while reading just the first two books, and fully recommend everyone to read this book(check triggers first because it is not fit for everyone.)
THIS BOOK!! CHEFS KISS!! I LOVED IT SOO MUCH!! THE WHOLE SERIES IS SUPER UNDERRATED TBH LIKE PEOPLE GO READ THIS SERIES ON WATTPAD!! I PROMISE TO YOU ITS LIKE REALLY REALLY GOOD! I READ THE WHOLE SERIES IN JUST UNDER A MONTH! ACTUALLY I DIDNT LOVE THE LAST BOOK BUT THAT BECAUSE I WENT INTO A READING SLUMP! READ THIS RIGHT NOW! ANYWAYS HAPPY READING!!!!
Slightly overwhelming, this book is a very big statement of the world we love in today, I pray that anyone who has been through this heels and gets better.
"Confessions of a Queen Bee" is a 4/5 stars. The book starts with Ivy trying to gather herself together after her assault. It's a slow-burn romance with one of her classmates, Jackson. She grows closer with Jackson due to his mother being her counselor. The way this book describes how Ivy slowly finds a new, better and brighter version of herself is amazing. How she fights off her attacker and how Jackson sticks with her throughout it all. I definitely recommend this book.
4/5 stars. tw/ sa. this book is so powerful in the topics it talks about. although this book is primarily a 'romance' book due to the relationship between ivy and jackson, ivy's experience is pivotal to this book and the writer presents this experience in such a raw way that as a reader there were moments where this book caused me physical pain. go read this right now but check triggers before!
