When the young and charismatic Evan Treble buys the house just down the street from Elizabeth, she throws caution to the wind and has a wild night with him while her daughter is away visiting a college out of state.
It doesn’t take long for her to begin feeling that there is more to him than meets the eye. Evan is just too… perfect. It’s as though he’s trying to mask who he is inside by hiding behind his family’s power and money. Having been a cop for nearly twenty years, Liz quickly recognizes the type of man she’s dealing with and ends it before it even really begins.
When he then sets his sights and charms onto Liz’s daughter who quickly becomes smitten with their new neighbor, he slowly works to tear their little family apart. As things become serious between Elizabeth’s only child and the man down the street, she knows time is running out.
Something bad is going to happen; she can feel it in every fiber of her being. If she can’t dig up the skeletons she’s certain are hidden deep inside Evan’s closet, she fears her daughter may be the one to pay the price.

Welcome to Liars Island… a stand-alone series of interconnected, novella-length domestic thrillers set in the picture-perfect community of Liars Island. Here, nothing is quite as it seems.
On this island, families, and friendships are more than meets the eye … secrets, deceptions, and jealousies threaten to ruin everything these influential people have built. But it isn’t only the rich that live here … and power comes in all shapes and sizes. Everyone here is a liar … just how far would you go to get what you want?
What a fun little mystery! I liked the first half of this more then the second, if I’m being honest. It just didn’t feel very fresh and original in the span of it being the 19th book in the series. I’m not sure if we are meant to read them in order or not though.
That being said, someone needs to nuke this damn island lol
4/5 stars!
Mild trigger warnings with this one. Know your limits.
I've never heard of the Liars Island series of domestic thrillers before now. This is a suspenseful novella about Liz, her daughter, and their neighbour Evan. It's a story whose events initially made me cringe before I became wrapped up in the mystery, where two opponents are trying to outmanoeuvre each other. I liked the characters, and the facts the women are the actual heroes here. Compact read that packs a punch.
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
A sexy new neighbor causes problems between a mother and her daughter which leads to an explosive outcome. A pretty good story in the Liar's Island universe written by different authors. I just wish that the characters would cross over into other books in the series
