2.25 Let's call it what it is:
C-grade girl-on-girl shifter porn
(and I'm still here for it 😭)

Pretty well the same as the previous three in the series:
* SUPER SMUTTY - s*x is the entire purpose of these books
* Added some body positivity in this one 💕
* Barely existent story
* Underdeveloped characters (with annoying inconsistencies)
* The writing was actually a bit worse in this one - blatant errors noticeable even in audio
* The narration was pretty good - I like her voice 🤷‍♀️
* CRINGY word choice

If you're trying these - go for the audio and do it for the SMUT, not the "story". Keep those expectations really low and brace yourself for some uncomfortable body part and sex descriptors. If you do all that, you might enjoy these 🤷‍♀️

Book 4 in The Nightstar Shifter series and this one features a voluptuous bear shifter and a sexy wolf shifter. A wolf and a bear - impossible! Mindi is a photographer (and wolf shifter) and Echo, bakery proprietor (and bear shifter) and when the two meet mating instincts come to the fore. Problem is Echo is already pushed into an alliance with another bear Hyde, who looks on her as a good baby machine. While neither of our duo is ready to settle down, the mating call and true love cannot be suppressed. Eventually, hiccups aside, both families realize happiness is paramount when true mates are involved and give their blessing. Hyde doesn't agree and a near death fight ensues before a HEA is possible. I particularly liked how the shifters argued with their humans and vice versa but who can change fate. Cute storyline, xxx heat, and bears and wolves co-existing makes this a satisfying quick read. Looking forward to what Ms. Marie comes up with next.

Hers to Claim by Ariel Marie makes for some steamy scenes that are part of the fated mate storyline of Echo and Mindi. The fact that their shifter animals are a bear and wolf makes no difference to fate and it trumps any arrangements with another bear who is a jerk .

I have a fondness for shifter stories and mates and this caught my eye. It is also a quick read to pass the time.

I love this series of books. This may be my favorite so far. Mindi and Echo are so well matched. I love the way Mindi is always telling Echo that she is beautiful. Echo is a full figure woman who is sensual and passionate. They are so sexy together. This is one hot story. I'm so glad their is another book. I never want the series to end

Mindi +Echo = Great Steamy Shifter Novel

I love Ariel Marie's characters and this novel does not disappoint. The FF element combine with fated mates, shifter drama, and beautiful details make this a great read. I found the characters engaging and there is terrific world building. This was a page turner to the point where I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the nice balance between the developing lesbian relationship as a fated mate relationship and the details about the various shifters in the story. Ariel Marie brings the characters to life and it is SO worth the wait!

Really want to love it

I keep trying with this series. I want to love them. The writing style is an easy read. The plot could be better but I have definitely read worse. The characters are believable and fairly well developed. I actually appreciated this one (as compared to the previous in the series) because the characters employed the use of toys - which is very common for lesbians. However, the rest of the sex is very cliche lesbian sex and not believable. I would recommend the author research a bit more so that the next book isn’t a complete turn off.

I enjoyed this!

I read this in a single sitting...it was so easy to read as the storyline wasn't too complicated or heavy and the MC's were both likeable. The story was just fun, fast and romantic. I really liked the idea of mates being found outside of there own kind and reading about how they created a strong bond regardless of that fact and ended up finding a love that will last in the process. I think this author and insta-love finding a mate stories will definitely be on my list of reads from now on. 😊

Echo was being forced to mate with her enemy Hyde but at her engagement party she met her mate. Mindi’s wolf knew it, finally she gave in to the mating call. The council agreed with her alpha to letting them mate. Then they had trouble with Hyde but Echo’s brothers took care of him. Great book again!!

This one was full of steam! A betrothed bear meets a wolf and feel the mating bond pull them together. I really enjoyed this one. Definitely will look up more from this author. There is some violence when the plot comes in.

Sweet and romantic

In an engagement party mates meet and lets just say one of these is the one getting engaged and definitely not happy about it either. One thing is for sure the romance and love making is incredible and undeniably hot and no one is going to separate these two ladies Mindi and Echo no matter what!!! Sweet and romantic!

tbh this was probably a 3.5— its a decent book! i just realized partway through the premise isn't quite for me (why tf are you resisting ur mate for such a flimsy reason?!?!! DUMB) and also i didn't like the worldbuilding re: shifters🤷🏼‍♀️ but a decent sapphic shifter book, and its on KU so if you're in the mood it might be worth checking out

Hot and heavy with a great message of tolerance

Great book, showing you don't have to be the same to be forever mates. Different species the same of different. Great message of love is more importsnt thsn being the same. Oh and some males( bears in this case) are as bad as bigoted humans....

A wolf and a bear. Sounds like a good story!

Mindy a photographer and Echo a baker have a problem. They are both animal shifters ,just not the same animal. Their animals know who they love but why so many rules and a hard headed ex boyfriend. Enjoy!

This Is the best of all the series for me. It wasn't just entertaining, it dealt with pertinent issues on; concept, respect, body shaming, societal and parental expectations/control, and it had amazing erotic scenes.

I enjoyed the whole Nightstar shifter series - I'll come back to write more. I enjoyed expressions of body positivity in this book. The angst behind fighting against an arranged engagement/marriage really heightens the story for me and always had me on edge.
