This volume of the first 3 books was spectacular!
It took us into the world of the Bellandi's beginning with Matteo and Ivory. This couple had a tumultuous start together. The struggle and angst was sad at times, romantic at other times. Their story was beautiful.
Then came Lino and Samara, who had a sweet start as best friends. But fate threw them apart. Their story was remarkable.
Then came Ryker and Calla, this tale was full of shadows and light, sunshine and darkness. Their story was complicated and sensational.
These stories were so well written that I could not put this book down.

I’m so happy that I discovered this mafia series by the writer Adelaide Forrest. I read and enjoyed each book in this box set. The Bellandi men are dangerous, stubborn, alpha, dominant and also very protective of their women. Nothing or nobody can stop them once they find the one woman that they want by their side forever. The stories are told from both POV’s, which I really loved.
If you love mafia stories, you really have to try these books by Adelaide Forrest.

I have written a separate review for each book in the box set.

BOOK 1 : BLOODIED HANDS (4 STARS)
Ivory and Matteo Bellandi had a relationship when they were in high school. He was the boy who Ivory lost her virginity to but he’s also the boy who broke her heart one week after that. The one that she loved with all her heart and she never forgot. Now twelve years later, destiny brought them together again. Matteo has kept his distance all those years from Ivory but when she stands before him, he knows that the time has come to claim the one woman that he ever loved. Matteo knows that it will not be easy. Because for one thing, Ivory doesn’t want anything to do with him (but Matteo is not a man that takes ‘no’ for an answer). But Ivory’s stubbornness isn’t the only problem that Matteo has. Because of his dangerous life (Matteo is the head of the Chicago syndicate) an enemy is also stalking her. Can Matteo protect Ivory against danger and also convince her to open her heart for him again?

‘Bloodied hands’ is a great start of this mafia series and I also think that it’s the ‘perfect’ story for readers who are new to this genre and want to try a dark, mafia book with an extreme possessive, jealous antihero guy. Because this story is not too dark or too violent. Yes, the main male character Matteo is very possessive and protective, to be honest he just does what he wants, thinking that he knows what’s best for Ivory and him and where it would frustrate me in other stories, here you can really feel the love he feels for Ivory and the fact that Ivory doesn’t follow him in everything also makes this story a great story. Ivory is an interesting main female character too, she was heartbroken when Matteo left her but with the help of her two best friends, she created a life of her own. She loves making food and sharing it with other people through her food blog. She’s funny, friendly, likeable, she also isn’t afraid to stand up to Matteo as he goes too far. The writing is fluent. There is some action in the story but nothing too dark. The sex scenes are steaming.

The secondary characters are wonderful too. You have Matteo’s men and his cousin Lino. They are hard men, feared by others but they are all friendly to Ivory and also very protective of her. You also have Ivory’s best friends Duke and Sadie. They are special characters too.

BOOK 2 : FORGIVABLE SINS (4 STARS)
Lino is Matteo’s nephew and his best friend. In the first story you could feel who his love interest was, his childhood friend Samara. You could just feel that there was a fascinating story there. Forgivable sins’ is a great story. Just like Matteo, Lino is part of the Bellandi’s (mafia) family and although he has done some terrible things, deep down he’s also a good guy. A guy who has been in love with his childhood friend Samara from an very early age. But the threat from his father, that he would hurt Samara if Lino ever took their friendship further has kept the couple apart. Samara married someone else and Lino stayed her friend through it all. But both have kept secrets from each other. Samara never told Lino that her husband (who she is trying to divorce now) abused her but then one night Lino discovers it for himself and from there on, Lino will do everything he can to protect Samara and make her his in the process. Can Lino and Samara finally be together or not?

Just like the first story it isn’t a really dark story. But if you’re sensitive for abuse (and more) in a bad relationship then maybe this story isn’t for you. I really enjoyed Lino and Samara’s story. They had such a deep connection from childhood and it was wonderful to see that they never lost their friendship. It was sad to know that outside influences has kept them apart for so long and that in the meantime Samara got hurt but it was also heart-warming to see how their relationship developed from friends to lovers in this story. Lino was alpha, intelligent, dependable, protective, ruthless when needed (and a good cook) but most importantly he was very attentive to Sarama’s needs. He really gave her time to process what happened to her in the past. Samara was also a great character, she’s intelligent, caring, calm and I really liked it that she listen to Lino about her safety, that she didn’t stubbornly ignore that (I don’t like it when the female character does that, just run straight into danger without thinking).

It was wonderful to see the characters from the previous story again. The story had a few twists that I didn’t see coming, I always like that in my stories.

BOOK 3 : GRIEVED LOSS (4 STARS)
Let me first start by saying that if you’re not a fan of a dominant, obsessive, criminal stalker guy, who doesn’t know the word ‘no’ or just ignore it, then this story isn’t for you. But if you love a dominant, obsessive, dangerous mafia guy, who knows with just one look that he has found his soulmate and will do ANYTHING he can to have her and to protect her and will love her two children like they are his own then you will love this book.

We met the main male character Ryker in the previous two books as a secondary character. Because of his ‘specific, bloodthirsty work’ for the Bellandi family and his cold demeanor I was very curious how Ryker would behave in a relationship and as a father figure. And after reading this story I can tell you that Ryker went ALL in. After stalking and looking after Calla and her children for many years, he knew her inside out and he used every trick and knowledge to manipulate her into being together with him. Ryker was just like a steamroller. In real life, I would stay far away from him but here in this story, I liked his focus, his attention and his thoughtfulness. Although there were also moments that I thought he should give Calla some breathing room but I also think that just wasn’t in his obsessive and dominant character.

I liked Calla very much. She was kind but also strong. She protested Ryker’s domination in her own way but she didn’t do anything foolish to provoke him. The threat of a mafia war created more suspense in the story. Calla’s children were so cute and so loveable. It was so wonderful to see the bound and love between them and Ryker. He spoiled them but he was also there for them if they needed them. The Bellandi guys may be very dangerous mafia criminals but when they are spending time with their children and wives, they have a gentle side and are very patient. It’s fascinating to experience it.

I’m looking forward to the next story in this wonderful mafia series.

Romance genre: mafia
Series: Bellandi Crime Syndicate
Length: 15156 locations (approx. 1,220 pages)

Includes the following books:

Bloodied Hands - Matteo and Ivory: Matteo was Ivory's first love, until he took her virginity and then cruelly, publicly dumped her the next week. After all these years, she's doing okay - not too much to talk about in the relationship department, but she's a fully functioning adult with great friendships. Then she goes to the bank and is held at gunpoint - that is, until the robber realizes she is that Ivory. He tells her to let Matteo know that he didn't hurt her. Confused about this insertion of Matteo into her life once more, she goes to confront him about what's going on, and now Matteo won't let her go a second time.

Forgivable Sins - Lino and Samara: Lino and Samara are best friends and have been ever since they were young. But Lino has kept his distance to keep her safe. He'll soon find out that Samara might have been safe from his family but she wasn't safe from everyone else. He needs to protect more than he ever needed anything.

Grieved Loss - Ryker and Calla: Ryker is the boogeyman of the syndicate, used in all sorts of "fact-finding" missions. On one job, he meets Calla and ever since then, he's been waiting for a chance to make her his. The fact that she has two kids and a recently deceased husband? Just helps him build his family a little faster.

Commentary: I get such whiplash from this author: did not gush over the Beauty in Lies series that everyone else seemed to love but found Deliver Me from Evil delightful. Darn near hated Wrong: A Dark Age Gap Romance, but loved Stealing His Princess! So good news (for me at least) - I loved this series! I read the first in the set, Bloodied Hands, a long time ago and kind of forgot about it. But I re-read it and the next two as part of this set, and I think I liked it a lot more for reading about the whole group of people all at once. I don't think that Matteo groveled enough (I mean, it just wouldn't do to have him feeling vulnerable, now would it!). However, once we got to Lino and Samara's story, I was in love. What a sweet guy, the way he would text her every morning. They were best friends and I think that set the stage for a much healthier relationship. Not only that, she knew what his life was about and what kind of problems he might have from his dad because of how much time she spent over there when she was younger. When she told his dad off? I loved that! And Ryker? Well, he's not all there! Hearing the story from his point of view was hilarious because he really found nothing wrong with the way he just kidnapped a whole family for himself! I loved that he thought so hard about how to take care of the kids, but c'mon man! Although I guess his childhood did mess him up.

Book 2 was my favorite, then 1, then 3.

I hope that after the sixth book comes out, the next three will be put out in a box set - I'd like to read it like that.

Next book in the series: Shielded Wrongs

A must read series

Bloodied Hands- Matteo and Ivory story is the first book in this world (at the time of writing this review their is now a prequel that is in the works and the teaser we got omg I can't wait) but back to Matteo swoonnnnn. He was Ivory boyfriend in high-school but he broke up with her which just broke Ivory's heart. Years later when Ivory is in the wrong place something happens that brings Matteo back into her life. This book was a quick read and amazing. Please read the triggers for this book.
Forgivable Sins- Lino & Samara’s story is next. Lino has loved Samara since he heard her sing as a boy. But due to some threats he had to love her at a distance until he was able to make his move. And ohhh boy did he make his move. Samara thought she was broken and just being with him for protection when she had a secret of her own on how she feels. This book gives you more of Matteo and Ivory but totally can be read as a standalone.
Grieved Loss- So this book is what made me male Adelaide Forrest as a one click author. I was able to read this story originally as a standalone. But now that I am doing a reread and getting the first two book backgrounds I can say this reread was so much better. Ryker & Calla story was amazing. Ryker stalked Calla for years knowing one day he would make her his. Calla and her two kids just lost their husband/ father and Ryker gave them one year to grieve before he came in and took his family home. Ryker didn't waste time. Calla I understand why she dragged her feet but sometimes I want to shake her as she wasn't looking at how Ryker was treating them. I really can’t wait for Scars story because I have a feeling he might take Ryker spot as number one for the Bellandi favorite.

Overall Review:
This is my first time reading this author's work, and I was not disappointed. This series was recommended by several of my fellow book-loving friends (happy to say they are so right) and I loved every minute of these three books! This series hooked me from book 1 and made me fall in love with each of the characters and their world more and more as I read. Each book embraces everything about a mafia style romance: cocky, dominant, and true alpha male characters that are tough as nails, and when it comes to their leading ladies they will shatter the world to protect them. This covers a few different tropes: Book 1: Bloodied Hands, second chance romance, Book 2: Forgivable Sins, friends-to-lovers, and Book 3: Grieved Loss, stalker romance (my personal favorite of the three). I loved the spice that these characters brought to the series as well. I truly love a box-set read. It allows you to get wrapped up into a wonderful series and binge. I will be continuing this series. There are TW for this book series 18+ Overall Rating 4.25/Stars

Matteo, Lino and Ryker!

I love these Alphamales and their women.

Each story drags you in and it doesn't let you go until you are done. These men would stop at nothing for their women and their woman finally let them in when they don't give up.

It's hard to choose a favourite, but Ryker holds the top spot but only just.

Amazing!

This wasn’t my first time reading the Bellandi family. These of some of my favorite books, I love the way the men love their woman without care of what is “normal”. Every time I see an ad about one of these books I end up rereading that book!

I keep re-reading this world!

This is definitely my favourite world by Adelaide Forrest!
The Bellandi syndicate is not as dark as Rafe & Isa's story, they will always be my absolute favourite, but Ryker & Calla come in on a close second.
I'm not sure how many times I have read these books now, and I prefer a good omnibus when I settle down to read a series hehe.
As mafia books go, this universe is an absolute MUST read! ❤️
