I feel like I'm giving it a poorer rating than it deserves because it wasn't a good fit for me. In a year's time I may read this again, and want to give it 5 stars. But I am a recent widow -- my healthy husband of nearly 30 years died quite unexpectedly -- and whilst embracing change is a worthy pursuit, I found I wasn't quite ready for this book. The finding of 'me' in so many years of 'we' is going to take a bit more time. My survival plan, for now, is to get through each day without being a basket case. Time will soften the grief, and perhaps I will be able to work through my 'Plan B'.

Please don't let my three star rating affect you if you haven't lost your soulmate; I think that grief is just different than a job loss or a health diagnosis. (I'm not belittling those issues, it is just that the grief is different, not more). The book is beautiful, written well, and there are some very good exercises in it. I will keep it in my bookshelf and try again when a little more time has elapsed.

In this book are some valuable tips and methods for those who have not yet been to therapy. This book is not groundbreaking nor does it pretend to be. It simply sounds like a friend who’s there to motivate me and remind me to be more compassionate, kind, and patient to myself. It also made me realize how far I am on my self-love journey though I am nowhere near where I want to be yet. I feel comforted, validated, and, to a degree, relieved.

Very aesthetically pretty book with gorgeous quote pages. I’ve read more in-depth books that cover these topics. A good starting point if you looking for simple ways to have a fulfilling and happy life.

A beautifully presented book, like others by the author. I really enjoyed The Life Plan however I didn't find anything too revolutionary in the content here. Could certainly be useful when you need some guidance and structure when confronted with unexpected changes in your life.

*Audiobook* This book was so basic I had a really hard time with it. I have a feeling reading the book would be more impactful. It couldn’t end fast enough.
