TO KEEP THE WORLD SAFE FROM SUPERNATURALS, HUMANS PLAYED GOD AND ACCIDENTLY CREATED A SCOURGE THAT NOW THREATENS TO DESTROY EVERYTHING.
Octavia barely survived her last meeting with the demigods, her very existence a threat to their carefully created dynasty. If given the chance, they wouldn’t hesitate to come after her. When dead bodies start showing up, she is ordered to investigate. She suspects it’s a carefully laid trap—if she doesn’t uncover the killers, not only will more people die, but the fragile truce with the demigods will be nullified.
Left with no choice, she follows the trail of dead bodies and discovers a new horror—a scourge that’s killing both humans and daemons. Octavia and her men must stop those responsible, but if the scourge catches her first, she’ll become their next victim. If she fails, the demigods will deem her unfit, and her mates will be force to return to a life of slavery.
Now that they’ve finally found their mate, the guys will go to any extreme and sacrifice anything to make sure no harm comes to her, even if it means bringing down the wrath of the gods.
A Clash of the Demigods Novel: Book 2 Meet the elites: Octavia, Warrick, Keegan, Nikos, and Atticus.
Stacey Brutger lives in a small town in Minnesota with her husband and an assortment of animals.
When she's not reading (from the towering stack of books she can't resist buying), she enjoys creating stories about exotic worlds and grand adventures...then shoving in her characters to see how they'd survive. She enjoys writing anything paranormal from contemporary to historical.

Where the fanged, furry and spell slingers fight the darkness inside their soul for a chance to claim the one they love.
Daemon Scourge was really pretty interesting, and it was cool to see some of the heroine's past come back in a good way. The only problem was the ending and her mates. I'm not really sure what's going on with that, but I hope it gets better in the next book.
While the action certainly was fast-paced, the series was still lacking on character development and world building. The writing kept throwing in contemporary references like the Friends theme song and Oreos and cars. Where were all these items coming from? The men kept purchasing new furniture and clothing from somewhere for the FMC Octavia, but they were living in an abandoned town that they were fixing up with a giant magic ward bubble. How was this supply chain set up? I would have been fine with an explanation of magical carpenters or something, but it was just totally not explained how this stuff was ordered and bought. Where were they getting this money to fix stuff up from? I don't recall any mention of the daemons ever getting paid for their jobs, and plus, they had broken off from the regular pantheon.
The magical mating lust continued to be way over the top. While we did finally get some more explanations about the rarity of the magical mating bond and how it worked, it seemed to contribute to Octavia's inanity with getting distracted to silence and drooling whenever one of her men took their shirt off. That was really quite unnecessary and just made me think less of Octavia rather than how hot the men were. The men also kept acting like shy virgins whenever Octavia touched them or brushed a kiss on their face. This was not just once, but continuously throughout the whole book. So not attractive IMO. Their lack of self-confidence didn't really make sense given their ages of 100+ years old and how often they had said they found women to sleep with prior to meeting Octavia.
For a series about gods and demi-gods, we still didn't get much explanation about how the bond between the daemons and gods worked, how their assigned territories worked, how their enforcement worked, etc. This whole book was pretty much in a bubble that followed Octavia around, and barely anything other than stuff directly affecting her at the moment was explained or explored.
The book ended on an annoying cliffhanger with to "help" with spying. I'll likely still pick up the next book just for closure since it's the last book in the series, but I don't have high expectations that we will finally understand what exactly is going on in this dystopian world. -------- Ratings - completed series: #1 Daemon Grudge: ★★★☆☆ #2 Daemon Scourge (this book): ★★★☆☆ #3 Daemon Legacy: ★★★☆☆
It’s been too long since I listened to the first book. I feel like there wasn’t enough of a recap into the what happened in the first book.
I forget the powers and the orders of the mates in this book tbh.
I remember there’s a wolf (main focus in this book) A gorgon ….. I believe if I remember correctly his touch is fatal? One is from Atlantis decent and can heal maybe? but must have another sort of power? And I honestly cannot remember what the data guy can do? I wish there was more info in this book to reconfirm this.
I also get a little bummed at the slow burn in this authors book. It seems that the third book in her trilogies always have too much going on in terms of the romance RH aspect because the first two books are always such a slow burn. It’s a little annoying. (Almost always only has one relationship develop all the way buy the end of book 2) leaving the other three needing to develop in the third and final book 😏🙄
Anyway apart from that the world building aspect was good. 3.5 stars.
Audio aspect isn’t the best. I don’t really like a couple of the male voices the female narrator uses but that might be just me 🤷🏼♀️🤜🤛
A Gripping Adventure – I didn’t want to stop listening!
Stacey Brutger is a new-to-me author, however, her stories tick every box for me. An intelligent writing style that’s easy to read. ✅ Check. Protagonists with depth and credibility together with personality traits that draw me in. ✅ Check. A great wealth of characters in the supporting cast. ✅ Check. Believable background story and setting with a plot that has a balanced mix of relationship, tension, action, humour and mystery. ✅Check, ✅check and ✅check.
I’m loving this urban fantasy series more than I originally thought I would. Our protagonist, Octavia exhibits all the personality traits that I love. She’s intelligent, resilient, self-reliant and has oodles of gumption. Her elite team of daemon mates – Warrick, Keegan, Nikos, and Atticus – are lethal warriors, each male sworn to protect Octavia and each having different characteristics, strengths and hidden insecurities.
Seriously, this guy. Lol But back to the book, story was awesome. I do wish there wasn't such an interruption in the action plots. It was like each time they're in the middle of something, a paragraph of feelings will interrupt. It makes the action parts of the book less....ferocious? Plus they are basically repeats of feelings she already felt like a few scenes before. Overall, I do love the stories that this author creates but the way feelings are interjected at every turn sort of disrupts the momentum of the book.
This book is amazing. I thought that the first book was amazing but for this to be a second book and still grab my attention like it was a second book is amazing. I love the characters and the dynamics they have. Along with Octavia, I was getting made at her mates especially Warrick. Nikos and Atticus and the most stubborn but tender ones with Octavia. I love how all her mates balance her without her realizing it till a little later in the book. The last few pages of the last chapter got to me the most. I felt her pain and can’t wait to read the third book to see what happens. Great series so far and would definitely and highly recommend.
Stacey you are literally one of my favorite authors! I don’t think you can write a bad book!! This second book in this series doesn’t disappoint. Octavia is a fantastic heroine that you can’t help but love. Her men are the perfect blend of alpha male yet so incredibly tender with our girl. I can’t wait to read the next book!!!!!
Even though I hate the ending it makes sense. Octavia does a lot of growing in this book. She still struggles with being a part of a team. Awesome battle scene near the end, huge changes, and a fun sex scene too. Then the ending just pisses me off lol. I'm not nice and I would delight in revenge and torture but I guess thankfully Octavia is better than me.
I was hooked from the beginning, I couldn’t put the book down. I had t re read the first book before I read this one and I’m so glad I did. So much more of the story is revealed and things are starting to come together or make sense. I loved it! Can’t wait for the next one!
So the first book I said I wanted more romance and more romantic action, well I got it in this book. However I still found this book a little boring. For me the storyline just didnt grab me, and it seemed to miss something. Will I read the next one??? Not sure, I dont think I will use my credit but if my library gets it I will listen to it.
This book continues with the fast-paced action of the first, and it's great to see the relationships developing further (both romantic and friendship). Octavia is slowly learning to trust in others but the way this one ended threatened to undo all that hard work. There had better be some grovel in the final book!
Daemon Scourge, book two of the Clash of the Demigods series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). I enjoyed this installment of the series better than book one. A lot of tension and conflict made this fast-paced plot very suspenseful. Great reveals in the story. I'm looking forward to book three.
Stacey Brutger keeps bringing it each and every time. I love each book in this series so far. Nothing beats a good cliffhanger and this one is bloody brutal. I’m not ashamed to say that there were tears as I read the end of this book. Big fat tears, I was ugly crying with a snotty nose and everything.
Love the characters and how their relationship is progressing. Hoping the target on Octavia is back starts to dwindle some so the poor girl gets some happiness. And Warrick is just too much. Looking forward to more of these characters.
A lot of stuff happens in this one. And the community they find is horrific. And of course Warrick does what Warrick does. And Nikos is still my favorite, although Keegan is a very close contender. And Atticus is just adorable.
I had actually forgotten that I had started this series until I went to read book 1 again. I skimmed through it until I recalled it vividly and then started this one. I'm so glad I did. This was amazing. I loved it!
I loved this series, Octavia was all kinds of KickA**, and this was a fantastic and terrifying world. I read all 3 books in two days and would love to read more set in this world.
Ugh. Re read this in an attempt to get to the third book now it's out. Remembering why I barely finished it first time round. There's just nothing exciting, or new.. no steam, no character development, not much plot? Didn't enjoy.
