The Nightmare Hunter: Uncanny Valley

Rate this book
Along the Mogollon Rim in Arizona, hikers and campers have been disappearing with astonishing frequency for years. When an eyewitness comes forward, she’s dismissed as being crazy for claiming that Bigfoot abducted a woman right in front of her. The people that are supposed to help only threaten her to keep silent.

When the police won’t believe her, the witness calls the Nightmare Hunter for help. What begins as simply taking the report of a cryptid encounter turns into the fight of his life. This investigation will take him into the heart of the Nightmare, deeper than ever before.

Can he solve the mystery of the Mogollon rim and save the missing hikers, or will he too, fall victim to the Mogollon Monster?

D.A. Roberts has done it again!!

I absolutely love the "Wild Hunt" teams coming together to tackle the most "strange and bizarre" creatures . In this book I was really hoping the end of the story would have continued just a bit longer. As I was wanting to see how David and Kay's story would have ended! Did they finally get back together and have a special ceremony to be able to return to "human" form again?

Nightmare Hunter

To be honest, I bought this book because of the cover, character Roger Noriega looking for all the world like Kolchak, the Night Stalker. I was immediately enthralled with the story. Big Foot. Dog men. Oh my, yes, please more. Now I have to get the rest of the series since this one is not the first.

Solid entry. Almost missed it.

So the title of this book threw me off but turns out that it is actually in the series that I've enjoyed thoroughly which is the Apex predator series in the wild House series. Amazing Entry, incredibly crafted and introduced a new protagonist which I enjoyed and continues a legacy of the best cryptid series I've found

Another great cryptid action

These books are mainly about creatures from lore that bump in the dark, mostly cryptids like Bigfoot etc but also bring other more supernatural stuff to the scene but the author dose a good job and his novels are page turners full of action and good caracters

A Book I couldn't put down

Fast moving, great characters and dialogue. The first of DA Robert's books I've read but it won't be the last. Heard his name mentioned on Dixie Cryptid podcast. Glad I decided to read it.

This is not the type of book I would have bought for myself, but when I got into it I couldn't put it down. It was very interesting and very long. Don't let the length throw you off, because it's worth it. Give it a try and see if you don't get hooked

Fairly good boob. Gets a little ridiculous st time. Plumb carried away but most of the time it held my interest pretty good and plenty of action. I know it’s fantasy but goodness. That many monsters and different kinds in one area just seemed to go kinda overboard. But I mostly enjoyed the book.

Out of the pan and into the fire

Kevin is a great journalist, but his curiosity is going to get him killed. He’s lucky he’s got Team Odin covering him. Want expecting too much out of this book….. but was I wrong. Another great one.
