Loving Paisley

Rate this book
Love almost got her killed. She’s not about to give it a second chance to finish the job.

Paisley Prescott had one thing on her mind when she escaped her abusive husband. Survival. Finding a new romance was not even a remote possibility. Then she met him, and his kindness changed everything for her. Now, against all odds, she’s wishing she could open her heart once again…and it’s utterly terrifying…

Nash Brookes knows domestic abuse when he sees it. After all, he lived through it with his mother. So, he’ll do whatever it takes to help Paisley, including bringing her home with him to the small town of Hope Creek. Falling for her was not part of the plan. But it doesn’t take long for him to do just that…

Earning her trust won’t be easy. He will make mistakes along the way. But when all is said and done, can Nash convince Paisley that love is worth the risk? Or will their shot at happily ever after stay buried beneath the pain of her past?

Wow. Wow. WOW. This was a gripping novel that I could NOT put down! It sucked me in so hard, and made me feel so many emotions for the main character.

Paisley managed to escape her abusive marriage, but a chance encounter on an airplane next to a hot alpha man will suddenly turn Paisley's world upside down (for the better!) and will show her just what true love is supposed to be.

Nash's world suddenly changes when a gorgeous lady sits next to him on the plane. One look at her will show him that this poor woman has suffered so much. Having experienced this with his own mother, Nash is determined to show Paisley that he is not like the man of her past, but rather the man that can help her have a beautiful future.

This was my first book by this author, but it certainly won't be my last. What a beautiful story of survival and finding true love.

Paisley has been living a life that nobody should have to but when it reaches a crisis point she knows she needs to leave or there will come a time when she won’t be able to. All she wanted to do was get out of town, but fate played a hand when she winds up sitting next to Nate as their relationship isn’t about to end when the plane lands.

Nash is everything you could ask for in a man and so much more. He understands what she has been through without her saying a word and he has an innate way of knowing when to be patient and when to push as walking away isn’t an option.

Paisley and Nash take us on an emotional journey as she must heal from her past and learn to believe in the goodness of others, especially men, again. This is the beginning of a new series, and I am looking forward to more stories centered around these characters and this locale.

A heartbreakingly sweet story about Paisley who has endured horrible abuse by her husband, she’s had enough and needs to make changes in her life. She wants to live and she does the hardest thing, she grabs the first available flight far away as she can get from home. Sitting next to her is someone who she didn’t know would change her life for the better, Nash Brookes.

I loved this story. The author pulls you in from the start and makes you cheer for Paisley to her path to a better life. This book definitely made me feel all the emotions. I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing, poor girl, she needed good in her life. Heading to Hope Creek was the best decision for her. Meeting new people, having a support system and people she can consider family, something she’s always craved. Nash and Paisley were so good together, these two were soooooo in love with each other and Nash, gosh, sooo protective and loves that girl so much. I can’t wait for Sophie and Cade’s story next!!!!

This was a decent read. Nash was a total sweetheart and I loved how patient he was with Paisley. She had been through a lot and seeing him be so sweet really worked for me. I normally like harder, jerk hero’s but sometimes you just want a sweet one, and that’s what I got with this book. My heart broke for Paisley throughout the story, but I loved seeing her get stronger and overcome the things she had been through.at times some of the dialogue between the characters was stilted and took me out of the story. I would love to see Nash‘s parents have a book! They are so sweet and with what his mom went though, meeting his dad, etc, I know that I would devour that book. Would be willing to read other books based on this family. 4 stars

This isn't the first book I've read by this author. I've come to expect a sweet, contemporary romance. This was no different. While Paisley has face domestic violence in the beginning, the story quickly turns to that sweet romance I've come to expect. Paisley lands on her feet after she escapes her violent husband, but she needs to put the past to bed. Can she do that with Nash and his family?
If you like a straight forward contemporary romance then this is a book for you.

Oh my heart. This story is a tragic one from the start. If you have some triggers when it comes to assault, please be forewarned of this. With that being said, Farr writes it with such poise and grace of a woman who is fighting for herself and taking control of her life again. Paisley has so much going on and as soon as she steps on that plane, it is like she could breathe a sigh of relief. This is where Nash comes in and the way they connect is raw and emotional and I lived for every moment of it. Nash is there for her every step of the way and I loved the build and connection they make as we go through this story. What I adored is Nash knowing exactly where Paisley is coming from and how to be there for her. It is so emotionally raw that I almost cried a few times and we all know how much I DO NOT CRY!
Overall, this is a brilliant start to a new series and a new family. I am in love with these two so much. Seeing Paisley blossom to Nash being brought to his knees by a woman. It has all the twists that keep you on your toes and passionate moments that will make you swoon. I am so looking forward to what is coming with this family!

After recently finding Laura Farr and her books I really couldn't wait to jump into this story which is the start of her new series set in a small town called Hope Creek.
This is where we find hot friendly strong alpha cop Nash Brookes! And what a man he is.. as soon as he sets his sights on Paisley struggling and needing help on his flight home he just knows he has to help her.
Paisley is desperately trying to leave her old life behind when she suffers from trauma and heartache and when she bumps into straight talking Nash she's unsure of him at first but after being drawn together time and time again will this pair and their intense connection be able to stay apart?
Queue a story of twists.. emotions and amazing characters that keeps you hooked and desperate for more!
Look forward to more from this series over time.

Loving Paisley is the first book in this new series by Laura Farr and I loved it! I’d have been gutted if this was a standalone story as I enjoyed getting to know not only Paisley and Nash, but all of the residents of Hope Creek. I cannot wait to spend more time with them all.

Paisley’s story is not an easy one to read. My heart hurt for her when I learned of all that she had been through. I certainly felt very emotional reading the reasons behind her decision to come to Hope Creek and the effects this had on her. I thought the author wrote about this sensitive subject with consideration and care. I loved Paisley’s strength and determination. I was delighted that Paisley wanted to move forward, and I felt her struggles were highlighted well by the author.

Nash Brookes is mine! There you go, it’s been a while since I’ve claimed a guy in one of my reviews but I can’t not stake my claim on this one😉 I adore the man. He’s kind, caring, thoughtful, considerate and hot! Plus, he wears a uniform too!!

I have spent much of today reading Loving Paisley and I have loved spending time in Hope Creek. I absolutely adore the Brookes family, and I’m hoping that each of the siblings will get their own story.

This story is written using dual POVs and that was perfect for allowing me to understand the thoughts and feelings of both Paisley and Nash. My only niggle, and I know that I’ll be in the minority here as this is due to my own personal reading preferences, is that I found the author started some chapters repeating part of the previous closing scene using the prospective of the other character, and whilst I appreciate why she has done this, I am not a fan of repeats - preferring a story to continuously progress.

I recommend Loving Paisley to you without a second thought. What a great start to a series that I know I’m going to thoroughly enjoy. Paisley and Nash’s story brought out all the emotions in me, and there were some twists in the storyline that I didn’t anticipate – which I loved. I am certain you will enjoy reading this book as much as I have.

You just have these authors that you can't wait to have another book by them out so you can read it asap and this is one of those authors for me. From the first book until now, she's just blown everything out of the water and just gets to me every time she writes another story. That to me really is why I'll always go back to her books and why she's become one of my favorite authors. I really enjoyed reading this story but damn from the first word, it grabbed me by the collar as my emotions were just all over the place with all of the heartbreak I was feeling. After what I was initially feeling, it whaned down a bit for me but it did pick up again soon. An emotional rollercoaster ride that you don't want to miss out on, even if you have to grab a box of tissues!

Paisley finally found the courage to change her life around and get away from all of the hurt done to her. When she takes a flight to Texas, she's trying her best to keep going and get as far away as possible. When she first meets Nash, he's a kind stranger to her that pinpoints her in the right direction. Thinking she'll never see him again, much to her surprise he works at the local police station in Hope Creek. With everything she has been through, he's a breath of fresh air to her but she's still very wary of everyone around her. Even though Nash knows what she is going through, there's just something about her that draws him to her and he feels a need to protect her. Slowly they are getting to know each other and her walls are coming down but Paisley's wounds still run very deep. The more Paisley settles down in Hope Creek, the more she feels at home and also feels safe with Nash; something that she never thought would feel. Will she finally break away from her past?... And will she and Nash find their way to each other?...

Paisley has been married to her husband for a few years but the last year has become awful. When his brother died, it started with him pushing or grabbing her. This time she thought he was going to kill her, her arm and a few of ribs may be broken. After he leaves for work the next day, she calls her friend to take her to the airport, she has no destination in mind just to get away from him.

Nash is flying home from his best friend’s wedding when Paisley sits next to him on the plane. He can tell this woman has been beaten most likely by a husband/boyfriend. His mother was is the same boat when he was little when she left his biological dad. He wants to help her, tells her of a shelter in his hometown, and gives her a number for it. Any help beyond that is met with resistance.

Paisley does go to the shelter in Nash’s home town, is seen by his doctor brother. She not sure who she can trust, especially another man. Nash is drawn to Paisley, at first he cannot explain it. He will wait until she is ready.

This is my first book by the author, I really enjoyed it. Nash’s family opened the hearts to her from the beginning, his mother due to kindred life experiences. The emotions run the gamut throughout the book. You want Nash to succeed and hope he does not give up when Paisley says she is not ready.

What an amazing start to a new series. Laura did a fantastic job with this one. Once I started this one I was addicted.

When Paisley is battered and down. She is desperate to get away and leave her old life behind. On her escape she meets sweet talking Nash on the plane and he convinces her to go to Hope Creek. When Nash meets Paisley something about her calls to him and he knows he needs to help her. The more time they spend together the more the connection grows and the spark is ignitable.

Laura did an amazing job with Paisley's story, its not an easy one. Its filled with pain and heartache. I just wanted to hug her. I loved watching her blossom with the support of those around her in Hope Creek, especially Nash. The way he loved and encouraged her was beautiful.

I can't wait to see what is going to happen next with this series and I'm seriously intrigued with Cade and Sophie

I'm very quickly becoming a huge fan of Laura Farr. I've read a couple of her books recently but I think Loving Paisley is my favourite so far. These characters and the storyline pulled me in immediately and just didn't let go.

Paisley needs to escape her abusive husband, the abuse she is suffering is getting worse and she fears for her life. So with the help of her best friend she board's a plane where she meets cop Nash.

Nash is on his way home from a friend's wedding when he finds himself seated next to a sad and broken Paisley. There's something about her and he feels he just needs to help her so he tells her about a women's shelter in his home town of Hope Creek.

Nash and Paisley soon become friends but will Paisley ever find the strength to be able to trust a man again and open up her heart and will Nash be one she gives it too.

A beautifully written story that I can highly recommend.

It’s the first book I’ve read by this author and definitely not the last. Nash and Paisley is a very slow burn but it’s so worth it. They met on a plane when she was running from her traumatizing life. He was just so sweet to her and something about her just made him want to take care of her. Also the fact that she was gorgeous he was intrigued but he knew she wasn’t ready. Not only did he help her out but also did his family; they all fell in love with Paisley. Paisley was amazing in her own way but she had trust issues which was understandable. The way Nash and his family and some of his friends embraced her was beautiful. All of Nash brothers were very protective of her. There was a scary incident and Nash and one of his brothers was able to protect her and this just made their relationship stronger. Paisley deserved all the happiness in the world. Can’t wait to read more on this amazing family!!

Oh wow… It took me a while to get to this one, but now I was like why??

Paisley just broke my heart ☹ All I wanted was to give her some happiness ❤

Paisley finally got away from her abusive marriage. She is on a plane and ready to run as far as she can and maybe get back to being the person she was meant to be. Until Hot alpha Nash Brooks sits down next to her on the plane 😊 Her life is about to change… Definitely for the better 😊

I loved this story. It was my first story by this author and it freaking gave me all the emotions. I loved Nash. He wasn’t prepared for Paisley but he definitely went with it. He was sweet and loving and protective and would do anything for her 😊 ❤They were so good together that when I got to the end I couldn’t believe it was over. I was so hooked from the start to finish 😊 I can’t wait for more in this series, sign me up 😊 ❤ ❤ ❤

This story is filled with all the fircking feels you guys..I was a crying mess from the very first page. Paisley has been through so much and you just want to protect her from all the harm. That is why I loved Nash. He understands what she is going through and he is determined to show her just how much he is worth and how much he loves her. This story is a bit of a slow burn where we get to see Paisley coming out of her shy sell with the help of Nash and his family and getting that HEA that seemed so far away.

I fell in love with all the characters in this book and I can't wait to see what happens next because I have a feeling that this family might become one of my favorites.

So many emotions!!! Book 1 in this new series by Laura Farr was utterly gut wrenching at first. What Paisley endured by the person that was suppose to love and protect her was heartbreaking and when she finally got the strength to change her future she took it. Paisley is a character you want so badly to see have them life she deserved. She is strong and resilient and ballsy!!! I loved her so much. Then Nash comes into her life and like the protector he is because of his past, he whole heartedly wants to help and his home in Hope Creek is just the place to make that happened. There the pair start a journey that is full of highs and lows but with each step they find a little more happiness. All you want is for them to find that happiness that they both deserve. Wonderful start to a series I will definitely be reading till the end!!! Highly recommend.

This is the first book in a new series. I can tell you already I've fallen in love with Hope Creek. I want to go visit. It's sounds like a town you would want to visit, but end up staying. The beginning of this book just ripped my heart out. It was rough to read what Paisley went through. That woman deserves to get all the happiness in the world. A chance meeting of Nash on a plane will forever change her life. Nash is going to make you swoon. That man has such a huge heart and the way he is with Paisley just warms the heart. I already love the Brookes family and so invested in the rest of the siblings. I can't wait for more from them! This was such an emotionally beautiful book. Seeing Paisley blossom and find her self confidence was truly the most beautiful part of the book. I would so recommend this book! Like I said I can't wait for more from this series!!

This book takes you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. Paisley's story is full of tragedy and heartbreak but yet she keeps on fighting the true testament of a survivor. Nash meets Paisley on his flight home when they're seated next to each other on the plane. All it takes is for Nash to get a good look at her and he knows what's going on after all he watched his mother go through it when he was little. He tries to give her some helpful information and he gives her the number to the shelter in town but Paisley's not sure who she can trust especially men. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. I will say that you definitely need to read this book and go on their journey with them as it's beautifully written. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

I loove the hero.. I love this book.. great read.

I understand the heroine underwent some traumatizing past and it's hard for her to trust.. but having seen for herself the goodness and kindness of the hero and his family first hand, having him proven his love and willingness to wait forever for her, she irked me a bit by how she reacts to a certain discovery, the hero has done, coming from his concern for her.

There are also some inconsistencies in some of her declarations.. one with regard to her unwillingness to be with a man, well at least not for a long time and yet.. and how she blames herself for not reporting to the police, to have prevented another repeat of what she's gone through, and yet.. I don't want to give spoilers..

Overall a heartwarming and beautiful read because of the hero.. I would love me having some Nash in my life.

Sweet story of second chance love

Nash and Paisley are a perfect fit. If only they'd met sooner. Paisley's story is a typical battered woman leaves abusive husband only to find love on the get away plane. It's a fated meeting that helps turn around Paisley's life. Nash is both over protective cop and understanding soul and exactly what Paisley needs. The story is a little predictable because you know what is going to happen early on in the book and the author leads you along the path. There is quite a lot of character inner monologue which is sometimes necessary but you don't always need quite so much. There tend to be a fine line between need to know info and rambling. Overall, the characters perhaps could have been a little less self deprecating but the story is well written and you'll get your HEA.

Sweet and emotional:
This was a delightful slow burn romance with a touch of suspense. I enjoyed getting to know this family and group of friends.
Paisley was escaping her abusive ex when she ran into Nash. My heart went out to her as she had been through so much and it was wonderful seeing her find healing, a place of belonging and finally love once again. Nash was so patient and protective and I was rooting for them the whole way through.
I thought the author did a great job of dealing with the subject of domestic abuse in a realistic yet somehow uplifting way. I really look forward to reading upcoming books in what looks like will be an interesting and exciting new series.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for a review and honestly, nothing else mattered once I started in on ‘Loving Paisley’- every free second was spent reading.

My heart broke for Paisley from the first page and the characters Farr created had me wishing I could go to Hope Creek. Nash is just what Paisley needed when he came into her life, and I was so moved by how his entire family welcomed her with open arms. I found myself transported to Hope Creek, and Farr’s writing made me feel like I knew this town, like I’ve been to Eden before, and like I had known these characters for most of my life.

I cannot wait for the rest of the Hope Creek series, and getting to know the rest of the Brookes siblings better.

Paisley is married to an abusive man. When he almost kills her, she enlists the help of a friend to get her to the airport. While on the plane to the first place she could get to, she meets a man, Nash, who sympathizes with her after his mother went through the same thing. Nash offers help, finds her a place to stay and in the process loses his heart to her. Paisley is unsure she can ever trust men again.
Opinion
This book will leave you in tears. First from despair and then from joy. The way Laura Farr is able to convey emotions so well will play with your heart. This is the type of book you want to curl up with on a cold rainy day and get a good cry on. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Paisley is leaving an abusive relationship and on the flight she sits next to a cop named Nash. Seeing the familiar signs of abuse, he offers her the information of a shelter in his home town. As they keep crossing paths, they become close friends and his family joins her list of trusting people. Loved the slow burn of the relationship with Nash as not everything needs to go full speed ahead. The characters were heartwarming and full of intense emotions. The storyline is believable and so hard to put down as it grabs you and will not let go. The drama, surprises, suspense and romance were well written. Great ending. Can not wait to read about Sophie and Cade.

The opening will break your heart, but you have to read more to see how Paisley starts a new life. As she found her way to Hope Creek, people were willing to help her through a hard time, especially Nash. Paisley was not sure but accepted the help and started her journey. I absolutely loved the Brookes family and the support they gave Paisley. You can not help but fall in love with this family. The characters are extremely well developed, they draw you into the story. I highly recommend this book, it is an amazing start to a series. I can not wait for the next book.

I can't imagine how scared Paisley must have been knowing that is was only a matter of time before she didn't survive her unstable controlling husband to escape and try to make a new life for herself with the little cash she had always looking over her shoulder. Nash was great from their first meeting, knowing right away what was going on without her saying anything and being so supportive and understanding as she heals from her physical and emotional trauma. I loved his rescue dog Max who loved everyone despite his past and just wanted plenty of love and attention. His family was wonderful too welcoming her with open arms. I'm looking forward to his siblings' romances.

I absolutely loved Nash and Paisley, the couple in this book. Their story grabbed me and I could not stop reading. I read this book all in one sitting. I felt for Paisley every time I think of what she was going through trying to get away from an abusive husband. Nash was terrific, he is a man with such a huge heart and the way he is with Paisley just warms the heart. I highly recommend this book as it is one of the best books I have read. I LOVED this story and I don't shed tears for books but this one made me cry sad, happy, and angry tears. The relationship between Paisley and Nash is amazing and their whole journey is one of the most beautiful that I've ever heard of. Of course, Max is my favorite!
Paisley starts her life over and through the kindness of strangers is able to find hope, love, and family.
Excellent story Laura Farr and thank you for sharing Paisley and Nash with us. I'm looking forward to more from Hope Creek. I truly believe this is the next Virgin River!

This book is just a wonderful start to the Hope Creek series. I adore small-town romances and this is up there with some faves!

Nash Brookes (who, by the way, is one of FOUR single brothers!!!!) meets Paisley when she couldn't possibly be at a lower point in her life and turns into her knight in shining armour. He helps her and shows her kindness and the kind of respect a woman should receive and just basically provides all the swoon you could ever need in a book!

Loving Paisley is the first book in Laura Farr’s new series Hope Creek. This is Paisley Prescott’s story and her struggle to reclaim her life and independence after fleeing an abusive marriage.
Laura has thoughtfully written about an extremely sensitive topic. She explores the fear, courage, issues of safety and trust that women who are domestic abuse survivors experience.
