Toby Wise is a stay at home parent who hails from a tiny town in Wisconsin. Contrary to popular Wisconsin stereotypes, he’s not a cheese-head who enjoys beer but rather an introvert who spends all his time on the internet, drinking coffee, spending time with his kid, and cooing about his adorable cat, Pikachu.

In April of 2019, A Collection of Strays was born after the world of fanfiction drew him back into his love of writing. Now he’s writing all things omegaverse as long as it includes silly moments and found family.

These were really sweet no angst fated mates stories about siblings and their mates and babies. Shifters, ABO, mpreg, found family. Just the lightness I needed after several heavy books. Other than some typos, this was a lovely read.

I enjoyed this box set - was great being able to read everyone's stories at once - and I really wanted to read the prequel.

I loved the fact that all the 'shifters' mixed together into one big pack under Dakota and that alphas and omegas didnt behave / get frisky in assumed traditional roles.

This is the first of Toby that I have read and will certainly be seeing what else there is to read by this author.

Fluffy, sweet, with all HEA

For full reviews of each book, go see my goodread review under each book.

A unique way of writing and a short, fluffy and sometimes even funny serie that represents one of each of them well.

If you want a romantic, no angst, hyper fluffy serie that reads quickly. I suggest you grab this one.

Contains: fated mates, heat, knot, mpreg, shifters, unicorn, dragon, vampires, magic, grief of previous partner (book5) and low kink (also book5), poly/triad book 4.

Book 0.5: ⭐⭐⭐ Prequel who intruduced us the past and the present of everyone.

Book1:⭐⭐⭐⭐ After the prequel introduced us to Dakota's immense personality and generosity, we were hoping he would meet his soul mate.
Charlie is an alpha, but not like all the others. His father sees him as a failure, because he doesn't show enough macho masculinity, but he fits perfectly into the Burke clan.

Book2:⭐⭐⭐⭐ Elwood and Frankie.
bestfriend to lovers. Follow the story, where they question their feelings, and the risk to take to take the leap to confess his feelings towards the other, the courage.
We discover another delicate subject in relation to the interracial life between shifters and the heartbreaking decisions they have to make, decisions that are not found in other shifter books, really unique to this author, it broke my heart a little. Never seen something like this before.

Book3: ⭐⭐⭐We discover Isaiah and Sam who finally meet. The author shows them as two awkward virgins . If you're looking for a fate mated encounter that includes mating, heat, knot, mpreg, and starts out well, ends well, zero angst and a slight touch of humor then this book is for you.

Book 4:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After a terrible accident, Cameron locked his gift with a formula found in a grimoire. Locked away until he meets his mate or in his case mates. Meet River and Jace who will try to wooing him. THIS BOOK IS FILLED WITH emotion, vulnerability, insecurity, and hope.

Book 5: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Wyn and Rhett . Wyn does not like to lose control. Rhett is very insecure in his abilities to take care of his omega. Follow this couple who need to have faith and thrust in Lady Fate.

Book 5.5:⭐⭐ Tony and Yasha included 2 vampires, one night stand, very fast story, huhe gap between scene.

Also included: a christmas ⭐⭐⭐⭐ with this crazy people. Plus a book of the celebration of Frankie and Elwood ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ with a sweet sweet chapter of Lady Fate.

This review is for a portion of the bundle ONLY (Technically, I DNF'd the bundle at 44%, but since I finished several of the individual stories, I'm shelving it as "read.").

I read the first three short stories in here: Before Fate, Ageless Fate, and Touching Fate. Unfortunately, I don't remember my specific reactions to those three other than a general level of enjoyment that's probably in the 3-4 star range (averaging and rounding that up = why I'm giving this an overall 4-star). I got almost halfway through the next story - these are all related and progress sequentially - and my interest just fizzled. (Fate's Perfect Timing, somewhere in Chapter 10.) There was no specific problem that caused me to DNF, I was just bored, so went and read something else, and then something else, and then something else etc until now it's... I'm not sure, maybe a month or two later? And I just realized I have no interest in going back to this bundle, so I'm going to return it to KU, post this review for posterity, and call it done. 🤷‍♀️

Wonderful series

A wonderful and fantastic collection of stories. While each character's background is heartbreaking, this was a pretty low angst set of books. I loved how each couple/throuple's mating was unique. Toby Wise came up with creating ways for the mates finding each other and how they are bonded. And that last book where we get to see how everyone is doing years later was perfection. I cried through most of the last chapter. A beautiful way to end such an incredible series.

Delightful

I loved reading this Collection of Strays. Maybe reading them one after another is a bit much, but the upside is remembering who's who and following the plot that sometimes runs over into the sequel. The books are funny, sizzling, surprising here and there, sometimes maybe a bit too sweet but a wonderful escape in these awful, frightening times.

Really enjoyed this set of stories. Each one had its own unique twist and turns that found love and made up families from those around who needed each other. Really loved each book.
