This is a compilation of stories that were broadcast over the radio featuring different Doctors and their companions, usually narrated by the actors who portrayed them.

The first 3 stories are connected by a common thread, and may be a little wrenching and bittersweet.

1. Men at war.
This tale finds the first Doctor materializing on August 1st, 1916. However, while the Battle of the Somme should have been raging for over a month it has not yet started. Has history been changed? Also, why are soldiers disappearing into the mud?

2. Horrors of War
The third Doctor and Jo Grant appear in the recovery ward of a hospital while World War One is raging. There they encounter a duty nurse who mistakes the Doctor for a physician and informs him that some of thee patients are terrified and many will suddenly disappear into the night.

The Doctor ends up taking the nurse on a brief journey in the Tardis where she provides the best, " Bigger on the inside," ever!"

3. Fortunes of war
This time the sixth Doctor encounters the nurse again and realizes she has been present on each of his previous journeys to the First World War era. Why does Annie bind all this together? How can the Doctor put time back to what it should have been?

4. The Thing From the Sea.
The fourth Doctor and his housekeeper that keeps a cottage for him in modern day England, Mrs. Wibbsey, take a trip to 19 century Italy and encounter a creature from the deep and an evil Count Otto.

5 The Elysian  Blade.
In this story the second Doctor, Jamie, and Victoria show up on a planet with an old Earth colony that is not prospering quite as it should be. There they encounter the Blade of Longing and the Angel of Forgetting. However to benefit from either, there is a high price to pay.

6. The Flight of the Sun God.
Here the sixth Doctor and Peri come onboard a ship where the owner, a fantastically rich and powerful man, dooms the crew to crash into a sun and follow his death to serve him in the afterlife. Turns out, they would rather not do that, and mistaking the Doctor for their employer may help him thwart their fate.

7. The Scent of Blood
This story features the eight Doctor in Victorian London and there are vampires! Do I need to say more?

8. Paradise Lost
Clara and the eleventh Doctor arrive on a planet at war betwen two speicies. An insect like humanoid one and an arachnid race. but there is more here than meets the eye. Is the planet alive? And, what does it have to do with the Nebula it boarders on?

9. The Winged Coven.

Mrs. Wibbsey goes snooping about in the fourth Doctor's room when she fears he may not be returning. She had used one or two of his gadgets before to help her community, so what harm could one more do? Which is when she opens pandora's box. Add in some witches and Mike Yates and you have a thrilling Doctor Who Story!

This is a terrific box set with lots of value for your money. A bunch of different Doctors, a variety of locales, and all kinds of scenarios. Bunches of fun and one you will listen to again!

Enjoyed having stories of different Doctors in one volume. My least favorite of the stories was The Scent of Blood.
