Grr... I'm disappointed. I was loving the characters and their sweet if unconventional relationship, loved the way Keisha took care of Brent, loved the way Brent had started to loosen up and relax. But then there was a scene where they share an extremely passionate embrace/kiss, where Brent's trying to pull back to keep from going too far, and Keisha's begging him to make love to her. Excuse me, what?!? While they didn't cross that specific line, that scene definitely crossed a line for me. I'm sad because I was loving it until that moment.
Keisha has a heart for the downtrodden, the poor and the homeless. Her mantra: Feed their souls and their spirits… and she practices what she preaches.
👁^👁 OBSERVATIONS:
→ Keisha: a feisty mouth, sometimes a little too feisty and she’s not above a little scheming to get her way. Oh yes, remember Keisha, it’s okay to get mad. As the Good Book says, be angry and sin not. 😇
→ Brent: Tough on the outside but tender on the inside…. and working on softening that outside too. That poor little rich boy learns a thing or two from the girl on the other side of the tracks 😘
→ Trevor: Big brother always there for his sister, even when she wants to handle things on her own 🤔
→ Carl: Not my idea of a man … breaking up via text… nope 🤬
→ Both Mothers: Its a wonder their children are normal, caring, successful human beings. Sure didn’t happen with the help of motherly love 👀
This is a love story in the making. I say ‘in the making’ because, well it’s really in the making. It doesn’t start off that way but it grows on you as it grows on them.
Love the way the author puts together a clean storyline that brings out real traits in people’s lives. Yes, there’s emotion, hesitation, needing forgiveness, not thinking before you speak/act …. just a lot of real life characteristics; but there’s a lot of giving and helping those who just can’t help themselves … from the homeless on the streets to the executives in the boardroom.
And yes, sometimes young crushes can grow into love … it may take a few years but they do happen. Sometimes you need to look beyond the mask.
I received an advance copy of this book and am leaving my personal thoughts and opinions.
"It didn't matter how a person felt or how they looked on the outside, what was more important was how their actions stood out."
Stand Out, the fourth installment in author Rose Fresquez’s Eron Romance series, is a beautiful tale of acceptance, faith, and finding love. This novel is one of my new favorites of hers. I always look forward to this author's new releases, and this book is no exception.
Rose Fresquez creates a realistic storyline with Brent and Keisha's path to romance. Readers will love the diversity of Rose Fresquez's characters and her sweet Christian romances. She is definitely an author I would recommend for readers of inspirational contemporary romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
I loved Keisha and Brent's story!! I've waited for this one since the start of the series!!! Brent needed a come-uppance, and he meets his match in Keisha!! Keisha's had a crush on Brent for a long time, and Brent hasn't had a clue. He's been too busy trying to make the "perfect" life and date the "perfect" woman so that he can finally please his parents. He's not like his sister, he thinks. When his sister arranges for Keisha to work for Brent after a bad accident, he starts relying on her way too much! When he realizes just how much he does care for Keisha, is it too late for him to admit that he loves her? Will he learn to rely on God and let Him lead??

Good book! From what the book implies, Brent must have been a stinker before his accident. Keisha is a fiesty, friendly, loving girl who fell in love with that stinker. She somehow saw beyond the man he put forth to the man inside. The fact they each turned to God for answers throughout the book makes it even better.
I love all of Rose's books, but so far, I think this is the best one. Keisha is my favorite character. She is a very strong Christian woman. If you are looking for a Christian romance book, you have to read this one.
Stand Out is an engaging employee/employer, class difference romance that totally satisfies the romantic at heart. Keisha and Brent find out that close proximity during a road trip can do wonders for your love life, if only the families can stay out of the way. I loved how the relationship progressed as they each grew in character and faith. I’ll take the blue Porsche too. :) If you like easy to read romance this is the book for you. I was given a copy courtesy of the author. This is my honest review.
Brent is the CEO of his family's huge business that purchases and runs resorts , condo's and anything else that will make money. His sterile life is very busy, so he has a personal assistant that is to keep everything running smoothly. Brent hasn't been raised like the rest of us, and he is a germaphobic, that always has a bottle of hand sanitizer in his pocket. Keisha, is the daughter of Brent' s previous housekeeper, a woman that just ran off one day. Keisha has big dreams for her life and hopes that working for Brent will help her reach them. This story almost makes you laugh at the kind of person Brent is but the more you get to know him you actually start to feel sorry for him. Keisha is amazing and how God is at work in her life encouraged me to try to be more like her. Well, lol most of the time, because just like the rest of us Keisha isn't perfect. This is a great story with lots to keep you interested and reading, crying and laughing. I enjoyed reading it and will continue to read more books by this author. I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion.
Stand Out is the fourth book in the Romance In The Rockies Series by prolific author ROSE FRESQUEZ. The couple in this book (Brent and Keisha) are related to the couple in the first book in the series; Keisha's brother is married to Brent's sister and there Is a mystery about Keisha's missing mom. So, Brent and Keisha have history and Keisha is currently Brent's assistant. Brent can't help but note the excellent care Keisha takes of him. She keeps his life on track and FEEDS him home cooked pastries. As much as he has come to care for her, he knows that their relationship can't go any further. Their lives are closely intertwined and her brother hates him. While situations from the first book have an impact on the emotions and actions of Brent and Keisha, it is possible to read this book and enjoy the journey without having read any of the prior books. I always love Ms. Fresquez's gentle, God-centric stories. Keisha knew her own mind and was able to advocate for her future with Brent. In addition, her work with the homeless population and her loving example for Brent was inspiring.
Keisha works for Brent as his assistant. The disparity in their relationship seems to be brought up multiple times. It took a long time for them to address their differences and how they could build a relationship together regardless of the outward differences. This part of the story seemed to make the storyline slow down a little for me. In my own relationship there is a significant age difference, my husband and I addressed it and moved on. This story seemed to rehash the age difference, in reality, it could have moved their friendship forward sooner. Once they both addressed the feelings they were each having, it was a sweet and tender romance. It was a pleasure to read and enjoy the love they built together. Like all toe Rose Fresquez’s stories her faith shines through in her characters. It is always a pleasure to have my own faith strengthened as I read her books. I have not read the other books in the Eron romance series, so some of the back story was a bit confusing. I would recommend reading the other books as well to get a whole picture of the disagreements that must have led up to the friction between Trevor, Keisha’s brother and Brent.
“You don’t blend in, you stand out”. This story really resonated with me as I believe we are made one of a kinds. I always told my daughter she was born a masterpiece so why did a copy. So the concept of standing out is so relevant and inspirational
I loved this story about a strong woman protagonist that isn’t afraid to go after what she wants in life. But what a girl to do when what she wants is to date her boss who is older than her. Not only are their barriers of work relationship and age but their families are at odds with each other as well. Is there any way to overcome that many obstacles.
I love how we see Brent and Keisha are living out their Christian lives in real life situations. And while both of their relationships with God are at different places, they can encourage one another in their faith.
4.5/5 Stars - Brent and Keisha figured out the most important parts of life but their families didn't make it easy for them. Her brother Trevor was a big hypocrite in his views of their relationship when he's married to Brent's sister of all people!!! Even though Keisha's actions weren't very Christ like, I cheered her on when she snapped that night at dinner!! Core Christian values were displayed throughout the book and served as a great reminder that no one will ever be perfect and we all make mistakes. Do you hold a grudge or forgive as we are forgiven? One thing that was missing was the commandment that we must be baptized for the remission of sins. Just asking for forgiveness does not make us saved.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
The title of this story really fits with the story line. Brent went through a horrific car accident and started working from home with an assistant named Keisha helping him get his work done. Overtime Keisha proves to be an awesome assistant and friend. Brent is trying to convince his company not to buy and destroy a trailer court which leads him to ask Keisha to come to the board meeting with him to help sway the board. Keisha is scared to talk in front of the board but decides to do her best and be There. There are twists and turns to this story with some surprises. The characters are likeable and the story is intriguing. This can read as a stand-alone just fine and still be enjoyable. I do love the focus on service in this story and having the faith to help others.
I really love Brent and Keisha. It is a difficult thing to cross that line when the love interest is boss and employee, so you have to worry about the implications and possible consequences. However, Keisha was also now family to Brent since their siblings were married. I love the spiritual way they connected and Keisha touched my heart with the dedication she had for helping the homeless, and then Brent getting involved and helping her was the sweetest thing. The biggest thing I did not like was their families interfering. These two GROWN ADULTS should not have allowed this to go on as long as it did. Keisha and Brent both were caring, kind, individuals, and I actually was looking forward to their story when Keisha helped Brent after his accident. So, I am thrilled that they got to experience their trip together and learn more about each other because their love was definitely meant for a happily ever after, and to add a baby to the family is truly a blessing they both deserve. Now that Keisha is getting to know her mom, I pray Rex and Trevor will one day be able to forgive her also in time. I would highly recommend this series. I hope there is a story of love for Hugo!
I had a Free Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Brent Wise runs a large company with Keisha Freeman as his assistant. When he has to take a trip to several locations, she convinces him to drive and she volunteers at shelters along the way. Her brother doesn’t get along with Brent and thinks he’s arrogant. When sparks ignite between them, her family is a large hurdle to overcome. An uplifting, faith filled story.
Love this author because she doesn’t shy away from use of scripture or Godly counsel. This wasn’t one of my favorites, maybe because the male character wasn’t that likable at first. It still has some great life lessons in there. We have been involved with homeless ministry for years and it hurts me the way even some Christians dismiss them. But most of the effective help they get comes from Christian ministries. Praise God for that.
I really enjoyed this employee/boss romance. I liked the road trip and charity angle. These were great characters and I liked the involvement of family. Several things were unexpected in the best and most refreshing way. I can’t wait for more from this author!
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Stand Out is an excellent book. I like Keisha a lot. It was a little hard to get into Brent at first since he was a not-so-good guy earlier in the series. Later, I really warmed up to him. He seemed to want to do good with what he had. The book is worth reading.
Another great story with relateable characters with a great plot Keisha loved Brent a billionaire for a couple of years without his knowledge, but in the midst of some family drama Brent finds he !oves Keisha Rose does a great job unveiling their love story and leaves us with a happy feeling Great job Rose
This was a great boss/employee romance. The dynamics of family along with God helping them through temptations. Changing character traits with God's help to be a better person. Helping the homeless was insightful. This was a great read and I had a hard time putting it down. I highly recommend this book.
I found Keisha to be a warm, kind, and caring character that I really liked. She seems to grow stronger in her beliefs and as a person as the story progresses. I liked how she brought out the good in everyone, including her boss, Brent, whom she had a crush on that he did not know about. I really liked their road trip to California for work since Keisha was afraid to fly. I enjoyed learning about their pasts, their faith, their families, and watching them fall in love. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Rose Fresquez brings heart and soul back to Eron. This is a beautifully romantic story of living life with integrity while doing God’s work. This shows what genuine character and faith is without being preachy.
2 people from the opposite side of the tracks, at odds with each other for years. Boss and assistant that have a work relationship that turns into friendship and possibly more. Each dealing with issues from their pasts that aren't allowing them to freely move on in a deeper relationship. I enjoy how the story progresses and the characters mature and change through out the story. Even though the book is connected to other books and stories written by the author, it can be read on it's own without feeling lost as to what is happening as just enough of previous stories/information is given to give the story a good flow.
Great book! I loved it! I love the road trip and the charity stops. I love how Brent was protective of Keisha. Family dynamics were great. Great read! I received an advanced copy of this book, but I am sharing my honest opinion voluntarily.
Keisha and Brent where do I begin. We meet their siblings in the first book and they had an incident that set off a spark. They go on a road trip in this book and eventually confess their feelings. Oh this book is magical. This series is fabulous.
I love all of Rose’s books! Everyone is a sweet love story, the way all of them should be, but mostly importantly, they tell the plan of Salvation and God’s love and forgiveness throughout!
I hope the next story will be Jayla and Rex reuniting!
I really enjoyed Brent and Keisha's story. She with God's help changed Brent's life fo the better. I can only imagine what they will do as a couple. What will happen when her mom and dad see each other again? Ummmm
This was a really wonderful book. I enjoyed that nothing ugly happened. The kept together and stayed in the will of God thank you so much I can't wait until I find another one of your books to read. VERY SOON. GOD BLESS
I loved the story line. I lived that it was set in the same little town. I liked that there was a connection between the characters. I loved that sharing, caring, kindness and Salvation were central themes. I would highly recommend this book.
