Love these books. My daughter brought this one home from the library for me. I love that she said that: "I checked this out for you, Mom."

Some good lessons in this book about what honesty is and isn't. As always, I love Junie's perspective. It's a realistic take on what young kids are thinking and feeling.

Here's my favorite part:
Then [Principal] called Mother on the telephone. And he told her all about the grocery store. And also about my sneaky peeky spying.

Principal is a squealer.

After that, Mother said she wanted to talk to me. Only when I said hi, she didn't even say hi back.

She said she wasn't very happy with me, missy. And no more spying means no more spying. And we would talk about this after her work.

Then Mother said she never wants to get any more phone calls from Principal. Did I understand? Did I? Did I?

I looked at Principal.

"Mother says not to call her any more," I told him.

Then Mother did a loud groan in the phone. Except I don't know why.

You know its a good children's book when you have a good time reading it when you're older. I keep laughing out loud when I read the Junie B. Jones series. Barbara Park really knows how little kid's think.

Kindergarten hellion Junie B. Jones is in back in this fourth book in the series. The ever-competitive Junie B. has been hiding and eavesdropping on her mother, which her mom forbids. Then the curious Junie B. tries to force her mom to take her to her teacher’s house — always called Mrs., as Junie B. doesn’t bother to learn her kindergarten teacher’s name. But Junie B. is determined to spy on her teacher!

Readers can take it for granted that none of this ends well. As for parents, grandparents and the adult “that mean Jims” of the world, who complain that Junie B. sets a bad example, realize that primary-age children are smarter than you and see these as cautionary tales, not endorsements. Geez, louise!

Incidentally, narrator Lana Quintal completely captures the voice of Junie B.

I used to LOVE these books when I was 7-10. My mom and I would read these together and I honestly believe it was when I really started to enjoy reading the most! I am so glad my mama introduced it to me and encouraged me to read! These books are so cute and funny. Being 26 now I still laughed when I read this book this afternoon. I hope people still read and encourage their kids to read these😀

This is my favourite Junie B. Jones book, I really liked it. She got trouble (as she always does) by going in baby Ollie’s room and spying, and spying on her teacher. She got her teacher in trouble because she stole a grape from the supermarket. It was kind of funny how she snuck up on her grandpa when he was going to the bathroom and it was really funny when she told the principal when she told him her mom doesn’t want him ever calling her again. It was really funny how she wouldn’t talk to Grace on the bus, because then Grace would say she’s being rude. So she only waved to Grace. On grandparents day it was really funny how she really wanted to spy on her teacher in her house.

Auntie Monica got me this series for Christmas. I don’t know why this book is the 4th, I think it should be the first.

This was a complete accidental read. I just kinda picked it up during class and couldn’t put it down??

The fact that she might’ve outed her teachers affair... I gasped. I also could’ve DEFINITELY read into that but I also don’t think I’m wrong...

This book was fun! It also opened up an opportunity for us to discuss both spying on people, stealing, and that everyone makes mistakes. Ela has expressed that she wants to read them all. I am pretty sure there are a lot. :) Yay us.

These are horrible books for kids. I started reading them to my kindergartner. She loves them, but she has also started acting just like Junie-horrible, bratty and mouthy. All these books do is give kids ideas of how to misbehave. And her grammar is horrible. I would not let your kids read these, nor would I read any to them.

I still don't like Junie B.'s attitude and manners. Also, her grammar has somehow worsened in this book - what is she even learning in Kindergarten?!

It seems like all the adults (her parents, grandparents, teacher, and principal) are exasperated by her, and I don't blame them.

She did learn an important lesson about not stealing food from grocery stores, so I guess there is some good that came out of this book...

I remember these being some of the first chapter books I read as a kid, and I remember being so excited to get another. Started reading them with my son, and im happy to say that hes enjoying them as much as I did. 🖤

Cute story from a kindergartner's perspective. I've read several Junie B. books and was surprised to see this one on the banned books list. Had to find the reason for the ban. As I expected…there was no reason.

Este libro estupendo, y espectacular se llama Junie B. Jones espía un Poquirritin por: Barbará Park. Se trata de una niña llamada Junio B Jones y ella quiere saber adónde su maestra vive pero su maestra no le quiere decir adonde vive. Entonces la maestra de Junie B. Jones le da una carta para que Junie B. se la dé a su mama y la carta habla de haciendo galletas para los días de abuelos. La. persona principal es Junie b jones. Ella tiene pelo corto color marrón, y un cintillo. Los ambientes de la historia es la casa de Junie b, la escuela, y el supermercado. Mi opinión del libro es que me gusta mucho porque es muy gracioso y me gusta como la autora uso palabras interesante. También que es un buen libro para los niños Porque tiene una lección y la lección es que es malo a espía. De este libro me gusta casi todo la cose como es chistoso y muy bueno y tiene palabras maravillosa. También me gusta como Junie b Jones actúa.
Yo creo que Barbará Park tiene que añadir más acción a la historia y más conversación. La razón que yo creo que Barbará Park tiene que añadir más conversación en la historia es porque nadamas tienen un poco. Yo recomiendo que las personas que le gusta libros chistosos y libros de espiar debes leer este libro. La razón que debes leer este libro es porque el libro tiene mucha cosas chistosas y ella esta espiando. También este libro me recuerda a un libro que yo a leído es de un niño que le gusta a espía y se llama SPY. A mí me gusto mucho este libro porque dice como espiar a personas y no van a saber que tu estas hay. También dice como tú te puede

I have a 4.5 year old who’s teacher reads the Junie B. Jones books at school. He thinks they are funny and really wanted to read one as his bedtime story so
I bough one to try.

I can see the entertainment value of this book for a preschooler, but other than that I found it a terrible book for kids. Junie B. leaves a lot to be desired. She behaves more like a 3 year old than a kid in kindergarten. The way she talks is appalling. Even though young kids don’t speak perfect English we don’t need to be reading books to them with speech that is dumbed down. Kids this age are capable of having full-on coherent conversations with one another… So the kindergarten dialogue in this book makes be feel like the author thinks kids this age are idiots. I also think Junie getting so angry she balls her little fists to imply wanting to be violet is concerning, as is saying she wants to crack a person’s head open. The abundant use of “stupid” and “hate” is also unnecessary in literature for young children.

When books like this are written for young kids I think it’s safe to say that the characters become a sort of role model for their audience. Junie is not the kind of role model I want for my kids. She’s kind of naughty…whatever…every kid is sometimes, but she shows zero growth at the end of the book. She just circles back to wanting to do the exact thing that got her into trouble in the first place.

Though I’m sure my kids will be subjected to more of this series at school we definitely won’t be reading anymore Junie B. Jones books at home.

Junie B. thinks she is the best spier in the world just because she has sneaky feet. Also her nose doesn't whistle when she breaths. When her and mother went to the grocery store she saw her teacher and she spied on that crazy teacher of hers! Then while she was spieing on Mrs. she saw that crazy teacher put a grape that she did not pay for in her mouth! This reminded Junie B. of the day she put a grape that she did not pay for in her mouth and she got in trouble because of putting that grape in her mouth without paying for that dumb grape. She waited and waited to see if she would get in trouble just like her but guess what she didn't get in any trouble at all! If you were wondering where her mother was at this time she thought that Junie B. was at the bathroom and when she was done hopefully she would go back to the cookie aisle but she didn't! I loved reading JUNIE B. JONES. when, I was little. it was just so fun and exciting to pull out one of these books. This was especially one of my favorites. I mean what child wouldn't want to read a book about a girl and some sneaky peeky spying? let's all admit we all we're sneaky and we all spyed! reading one of this books wasn't just fun and exciting. it was the most best thing to do. I remember reading this book so many times. I think I lost track? but, this book is really the best. we start off with Junie B. Jones. our main character who may I say is VERY sneaky. She has decided to become a spy. she becomes curious about her teacher ''Mrs., '' and starts to wonder where she lives, she takes her sneaky peaky feet out on the case. But, guess what? Junie B. Might be REALLY sneaky. and real peaky. But when she spies on Mrs., She could get into real trouble! and, when I say real trouble. I mean the sneaky peaky spying kind of trouble that REALLY is not so GOOD but, is actually REALLY good! I hope you enjoyed reading this review, I hope I was as helpful as I could be! 🤍

This is the first book that Lucy and I read together. It was fun and I quizzed her at the end of each chapter to make sure she was paying attention. She loved it! We made reading fun and she asked me to keep reading.. Made my heart happy!

I'm not sure that I'll read another Junie B Jones book to her- maybe save them for when she's older. I understand that this is geared towards children, but some of the pronunciations of Junie B's frustrated me and I could see how Lucy would struggle with them if she was reading it herself..

My childhood revisited!

Who didn't think they were the sneakiest person in the world, when you clearly were the worst? Although, she was actually good at hiding so far in this series - in the first book and in this one she hides to achieve her goals.

This time she tries to uncover the secrets that she is sure her "mystery guy" teacher is hiding. And her teacher holds herself accountable, trying to teacher Junie B. an important lesson.

This is a cute series for young readers just starting to read chapter books. When Junie B. sees her teacher eating a few grapes at the grocery store, she is shocked! “Teachers aren’t supposed to do stealing! Teachers are supposed to be perfecter than that! ‘Cause they have to set a good sample for little children” (40). 🤪

I never had quite so much attitude as Junie, but, a lot of her capers remind me of myself at that age. They read authentic to the kindergarten experience.
