Autopiloten som samtiden har installert i oss, tar oss ikke nødvendigvis dit vi ønsker å komme, og vi trenger derfor å kaste kritiske blikk på hva vi driver med, hva som driver oss og hva vi drives mot. Denne boka er en invitasjon til å gjøre nettopp det — til å ordinere det ordinære og regelmessige framfor å springe etter det ekstraordinære og hastige. For akkurat her, akkurat nå, er Gud til stede for å vise hvem han er og forme oss i sitt bilde.

Truls stiller de vanskelige spørsmålene og hjelper leseren til å se på prioriteringer, vaner og gudsbilde med nye øyne. En bok jeg skulle ønske jeg hadde lest tidligere, og som jeg utvilsomt kommer til å plukke opp flere ganger.

I rated this book 5 stars for several reasons.
1. It's easy to read.
2. It simplifies a complex subject. It's not that Truls gives explicit answers, but he makes room for the reader to think of complex matters in a simple way. Understanding God is not easy at all, but by creating a relationship with God and using reason, it can satisfy complex matters.
3. You can draw parallels to other parts of life. Truls talks about not being home (not being present) when Jesus knocks on our door. This also applies to a lot of other areas of our life. I myself can often forget to be present when reading a book, hanging out with my friends, family or girlfriend, working with the stuff I love or a lot of other things. Instead, my mind wanders away. So for me, this was not only a book about creating a relationship with Jesus, but also how to become more present in my life generally.
If you don't speak or read Norwegian, "the ruthless elimination of hurry" by John Mark Comer gives a lot of the same information and uses a lot of the same arguments as Truls on how to have time for Jesus in your life and/or be more present in other parts of your life.
