Bosses and Babies #3

Boss with Benefits

Rate this book
My new boss is a jerk, but his benefits package is HUGE.

You’d think working for "LA’s Sexiest CEO" would be fun.
You don’t know Jack McCann.
The arrogant bosshole wants a slave, not an assistant.
He barks orders, wears a perma-scowl,
and demands superhuman skills in mind reading.

When he humiliates me in front of the whole office,
I stand up to him…
And wait to be fired.
Instead, we make out in the elevator.

I should hate him.
But those rock-hard abs and piercing eyes melt my resistance into a puddle.
Trust me, this is purely physical.
Jack the Grouch doesn’t do relationships.

Besides, I’d never fall for Lucifer in an Armani suit.
Not even when I catch glimpses of a heart beneath that wall of ice.

But Jack doesn’t know my secret.
Mr. Grumpy Boss from Hell is going to be a daddy.

I like to spend summers with books like this. There is some interesting note to the stories where boss is breaking the rules to be with his employee, this story is one of them. Violet works for Jack, her unapproachable jerk of a boss, or she just think that he is. They break the rules at work and start to have something more, lets say it is work with benefits. Since he doesn't want children they must stay just that...are they going to break that "just benefits" rule too you will have to read it by yourself. Can't wait to read other books by Crystal Monroe.

Shaking the Past and Embracing the Future

Childhood experiences live long past the years of childhood. For 34-year-old CEO Jack McCann, childhood was a nightmare of mental and physical abuse. His alcoholic father spent his meager salary on beer, often leaving his family to seek help from local food pantries as their only source for food. But what made his family exceptionally dysfunctional was that his beleaguered mom did not challenge the abuse to herself or to her son, Jack. As a result, Jack worked to become physically fit to facilitate his ability to fight back and defend himself and his mom until he could get out of the abusive home.

But, while he didn’t have parental support, he did have the support of Grayson, his best friend since middle school. So, finding mental escape, if not physical freedom, in computer science classes with Grayson, the friends used their mental acumen and computer brilliance to begin to write code. And, by the time the guys reached college they were already developing the code that would be the foundation for their cybersecurity firm, Lion, Inc.

So, the sexy co-CEO, with his blue eyes, thick dark hair and muscular physique, is no longer a target for his dad’s drunken punches. But, his wealth and power do make him a target for women seeking a short ride to an easy and affluent life. And now, he needs a new PA to help him sort out layers of business directives and personal contacts, but a PA who would not make his life more difficult like his last PA, who couldn’t keep up with the workload of a rapidly growing company’s CEO.

Iowa born Violet Williams, in her early 20’s, needs a fresh start away from Iowa. Her mom and dad are loving farm folk, but they could not understand their younger daughter’s desire to make something of herself, perhaps even an entrepreneur, but most importantly, to be more than a farmer’s wife. So, she got business degree from local community college, but as soon as she graduated, her parents started pushing her to marry a local guy, a farmer—Mark Hansen—for whom she had no interest or love.

So, with the encouragement of her best friend since childhood, Stuart Kline, whose parents who could not accept his sexual orientation, and who had also fled the constraints of life in Iowa, Violet fled to LA, California, to seek work. But, while locating work was not easy, finding a lazy, self-centered, money-grasping and demeaning boyfriend was not difficult. Now, realizing her poor judgment and her financial needs, Violet has left the boyfriend and agreed to follow-up on a name—Jack McCann—provided by Stuart from his successful real estate contacts.

And so, the beautiful former Iowan with violet-gray eyed and chestnut brown wavy-hair, with the help of Stuart, finds herself seeking a job from the surly, but sexy CEO, Jack McCann, who is wary of the beautiful Violet, but is desperate for a PA who can help keep him and his business on track.

Author Crystal Monroe offers her readers a delightful, but tension filled journey, on the long, winding road of love and second chances. The romance is filled with a less than supporting families, but with good friends willing to help Violet stay on course in her mission to become independent. This is a fun romance that calls for the author to create additional, equally engaging tales of love for one of the primary characters’ friends.

If you like enemy to lovers stories you'll enjoy Jack and Violet's story. She's a beautiful farm girl from Iowa and he is a self-made billionaire. He's grumpy and the boss from h..l. He refrains from office romances especially since his business is suffering . But the temptation takes front and center and a night of passion leaves a permanent reminder. Some angst and turmoil but eventually a heartwarming ending. The book was well written and hard to put down. The characters are complex and well developed. I read a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is the first book by this author I didn't like. I never really cared much for Violet and Jack made me angry as the book went along. They started out as a no strings attached thing. However, things got complicated and messy. Luckily in the end they got their happy ending.

This was a quick read definitely not my favorite so far in the series it fell a little flat for me and felt like nothing was really happening. And the trope in this was enemies to lovers I did not feel that at all I think it focused a lot more on the friends with benefits trope.

Jack and Violet's Story . . .

This is a love story between Jack McCann and Violet Williams. Jack was CEO of Lion, Inc., a cyber-security business. He needed to replace his former executive assistant quickly, and Violet was recommended. He was attracted to her from the start. When Violet was the reason they got a large contract as she addressed the client’s every concern, they decided they needed to celebrate. That opened the door to a physical relationship, because she wasn’t looking for love and he didn’t want children in his life due to his own abusive father. Both were happy with their arrangement… until the inevitable happens. How would Jack view parenthood when his own child is on the way? How will Violet look at their “loveless” relationship now that they have started a family? Are they ready to allow their love to be real?

Let me start by saying, I’m not trying to be mean. Lmao. This book just didn’t even feel like it was written by the same author. There was something about the writing that really irked me this time around. Violet seemed really juvenile. Like her thought process and the way she spoke was just off and I couldn’t get past it. Another reviewer said it best, she comes across as a Disney princess. If she had started singing and talking to animals, I wouldn’t have even batted an eye. There’s nothing wrong with being optimistic and sunshiney, but she lacked substance. She needed a little something more. Some pizzazz. Jack on the other hand is just whishy washy and rude because he couldn’t control his downstairs brain. Big yikes.

Respectfully, this whole book gave me the ick. I can see why people like the flowery cutesy storyline. It’s definitely a good light read if you need something fluffy. It just fell flat for me. The conflict goes from 0-100 REAL QUICK which is pretty standard, but then it settles right back at zero after two and a half pages. As if some strong accusations didn’t even happen. Like what????? my guy just jumped headfirst into some big conclusions and Violet is only mad for .2 seconds???? HOW?! There needed to be a whole lot more groveling before these two got back together. The whole thing just felt lukewarm.

Although I didn’t like it, I’d say give it a try anyways. It’s very light and sweet. & A lot of other people thought it was great!

I got 8% into the book and was rolling my eyes. The writing is awful in my opinion. It’s childish and ridiculous. The girl is basically a Disney princess with violet grey eyes and is perfect.

The guy is awkward. And the whole interview situation was strange. First interview he’s had for a new EA, with no others lined up and she’s exactly what he needs and she’s gorgeous and blah de blah. He has an erection the whole time because of her beauty and “wit” that was literally her saying she had a concrete mixer. 🤨

Her best friend suggests her for the job, she gets hired on the spot because of her prior work history (one job since she graduated? Umm okay) and then her bestie gay friend bought her a new wardrobe of work attire, does her hair and makeup for her and wakes her in the morning. (Maybe he’s all the birdies and animals wrapped up into one perfect gay man from Disney)

The way the two besties have a conversation explaining how her last relationship went and how she ended up moving in with him was weird and awkward.

Nah, I don’t think this book is my cup of tea. I’d like a little realism, please.

Crystal Monroe has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Violet and Jack. Jack is the owner of Lion Inc. It is a cybersecurity company. Some of his clients have been hacked and he is in trouble since he is losing clients. He is making calls himself since he fired his PA. She had made too many mistakes. Now he has to find another PA. He talks to his realtor and asked "if he knew of anyone who needed a job?" Stuart said that he did and would send them to Jack the next day. Jack said to make it around one o'clock. When Jack meets Violet, he is attracted to her and he knows it is wrong with him going to be her boss. Violet feels an attraction to him but thinks that he would not be interested in her. Grayson, Jack's co-CEO takes him out one night and introduces him to Ashley. Jack doesn't want anything to do with Ashley and sends her on her way. She gets upset and calls him a few nasty names. All he thinks about is Violet. They end up getting together away from the office and try to keep it a secret. Things are going well for them until Violet starts getting sick in the mornings. Her cycle is late and she goes and gets a pregnancy test. It shows that she is pregnant. She talks to Stuart and tells him that she is going to tell Jack about the baby even with the chance of him walking away from her and the baby. He had told her that he did not want any children because of the way he was raised. His father was a drunk and when he got mad he used to beat him and his mother. Jack calls Violet and tells her that he has to go out of town to fix a problem with a client's software. She decides to tells him when he comes back. The day Jack comes back, she hears an argument at the receptionist's desk and goes to see if she could help. The woman causing the trouble is Ashley and she wants to see Jack. Violet tells her that he is not there. Ashley gets mad and tells Violet to give him the envelope she has. Violet goes back to her office and opens the letter. She is shocked to read what is in the letter. When Jack gets back, she tells him that they have to talk. She goes to her desk and tells him to open the drawer and get the letter out and read it. It takes a few time reading it for Jack to understand what it is saying. Once he understands, he starts yelling at Violet and saying some very nasty things to her. violet tries to tell him that she is not the one who wrote the letter but he doesn't believe her. She tells him that it was Ashley and he wants to know why she would do something like that after so much time. Violet has had enough and tells him that she never wants to see him again and that she quits. She gets her things and walks out. She goes home and tells Stuart what happened and spends the weekend crying. She called her parents and told them about the baby and asked if she could come back home. Her mom told her yes. Grayson comes into Jack's office and tells him that he filed a police report on Violet over what she tried to do to Jack. While Grayson is still in Jack's office, Jack gets a call from the police and was told that they had arrested Violet but did not keep her. He was told that she had not written the letter to him. They had checked her signature and it wasn't the same as the letters. Violet told them that it was Ashley that wrote the letter and they went and got her. And at first, she said that she didn't do it but after they get Ashley's signature they matched the writing in the letter and she said that she had done it. After hearing this, Jack feels sick, he remembered that Violet telling him that she hadn't written the letter. He wants to talk to her but he doesn't think that Violet would see him. Jack talks to Grayson and he is told to go see Violet. When Jack gets to her apartment, there is a moving truck out front. “Hey, Stuart!” Jack called out just as he was closing the back of the truck and locking it tight. “Are you moving away?” “No,” he said, sounding surprisingly snarky. With his hands on his hips, he said in a hostile tone, “Violet is.” “What? Where’s she going?” Jack asked surprised. “None of your business,” Stuart snapped rudely. “If she wanted you to know where she was going, she’d tell you herself. Now get out of here. You’ve upset her enough.” Jack tells him that he came there to talk to her, to apologize for the way he treated her, said, but it didn’t make a difference. Jack watched as Stuart stomped past him and went back into the building. Jack knew better than to bother knocking. It was obvious Violet had told him everything that happened between us, and he was never going to let him in. The sun was setting fast, and it looked like Violet’s moving van was loaded and ready to go. Jack realized that if he didn't find a way to talk to Violet, he may lose her forever.
Will Jack find a way to talk to Violet?
If so, will she give him a second chance?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Bosshole Supreme- That is how new executive assistant Violet Williams describes her boss Jack McCann. As Boss With Benefits opens, tech wizard and CEO of an internet security company, Jack McCann, is pulling his hair out trying to save his business. His recently fired executive assistant had messed up the entire company database, exposing the personal data of many client’s employees. Into the chaos of his business life walks Violet Williams, executive assistant extraordinaire. Violet gets hired and quickly proves herself invaluable. Jack is a computer nerd with questionable social skills. He’s not shy or awkward. He just gets lost in his head and forgets how to act around people (hence the Bosshole Supreme nickname).Violet thinks of herself as a sweet, little Iowa farm girl moving to the big city. Although a little insecure, she is actually a confident and competent young woman.

Violet and Jack have a strong mutual attraction. They both recognize that having a relationship is not a good idea, however, if it’s just sex, what could go wrong? The sex only agreement leads to them developing feelings for each other. Both are afraid to admit that to the other because of their all sex, no feelings agreement. Add in a vindictive, not-quite-ex-girlfriend and an unplanned pregnancy and the relationship almost ends before it begins.

I enjoyed all of the characters in this story. Jack has a sad backstory of an abusive childhood and gold digging female companions which led him to avoid relationships. His was a rags to riches story, but a believable one. He and Grayson, his best friend since childhood, started playing with computers and built that hobby into a successful business. Violet is a young woman who was raised to finish high school, marry the farm boy next door and pop out a couple of kids by the age of 25 like her sister did. She is determined to move to the big city and succeed in the business world. Her roommate, Stuart, is the typical gay best friend. He and Violet grew up together but he moved to Los Angeles first to escape small town life. Maddie is the quirky coworker who matches her eyeglasses to her hair, or the other way around.

Boss With Benefits by Crystal Monroe was a fun story to read with believable characters, although Ashley’s character was a bit of a stretch. There was no reason for her actions.

If you can get past the more stupid things in this book then its a good read but i did have to drop stars for it.

Some spoilers ahead

So Jack needs a new assistant after the last one messed something up and caused a security risk. He is loosing clients and he is rather stressed. He interviews Violet and is instantly attracted to her but she is qualified so her hires her.

On Violets first day she figures he is just an ass. He doesn't tell her what to do or who to report to or introduce her to anyone. he is secretly lusting for her and runs off before anyone notices.

So this was my first problem with the book. Her ex stole her credit card and bought himself a load of crap on it including a motorbike (how much was her limit?) and instead of phoning the bank and saying she never bought those things or calling the police she sets up a payment plan. Girl grow some balls. There is nothing fun about reading about a woman who just bends over.

Jacks friend tries to set him up with a woman when they go to a club. He talks to the woman and politely tells her he isn't interested. She pops back up later but kinda out of nowhere!

A 60% they both know they are in love but don;t say anything to each other. (Hate this in books)

They have a lot -a lot- of sex so she is bound to get preggers. She doesn't tell him though, obvs!

The other woman popped back up in the middle of the story demanding Jack take her out now they are dating. He tells her they are not and she stomps off. Then she turns back up when he isnt there and gives Violet a letter which she opens and its blackmail basically. When she gives the letter to Jack he thinks it is from Violet and tells her to leave.

This is my second problem. He didn't even let her explain. When she tried to say it was the other woman he brushed her off and said really mean things to her. I just don't understand how he could think that low of her. How after everything they have been through he just cuts her off without a second thought. Also there were people who saw the other woman give Violet the letter. Why did nobody say anything. They know she was fired but nobody stuck up for her.

The police did there investigation and told Jack it wasn't Violet just like she said and he goes rushing back to her. She tells him she is preggers and even though he said from the start he didn't want marriage or kids he is over the moon and she forgives him straight away.

My third issue. The end was all wrapped up in a little bow and it was too perfect. She should have made him grovel for weeks and he should have been a bit taken back by the pregnancy.

I like the epilogue so only knocked off 2 stars

Also what it says in the blurb doesn't happen. He doesn't humiliate her in front of everyone and she doesn't stand up to him (well she does but not like after been humiliated) he dose kiss her in the elevator but not because of that reason.

Like i said if you can get past the stupid bits its not bad

This book is a quick and easy read. There are some things that are just off but it's the writer's story. For one, if someone steals your credit cards then goes and buys a bunch of stuff, including a motorcycle, you file a police report and get them arrested for identity theft or fraud or something, just like the boss did when he thought the girl was trying to blackmail him. You don't call the credit card companies and make payment plans. You don't do that. That's a victim habit that it so wrong, on every aspect of life. Someone steals from you, you do NOT go and arrange payments to pay their stolen items off. You get them arrested and put in jail.

Then when the stalker shows up at the office, makes a scene in lobby when saying she's going to wait for the boss to see her. Everyone in the office knows she's there. When the girl finally convinces the stalker to leave but she gives the girl a letter to give to the boss, everyone around the lobby sees this. So when the boss sees the letter and accuses the girl of trying to get money out of him...WHY doesn't everyone in that office stand up for the girl? Why? They just let him rip her a new one and everyone heard. The partner calls the police to file the blackmail charges on the girl and the police, they are SMART enough to look at the girl's handwriting and see it's completely different. They listen to the girl, go to the stalkers place, she is so scared she confesses, and the boss is so upset he didn't believe his girl.

SO yes, these are plot things that really annoyed me. Otherwise the story is pretty good. There's sex, a lot of sex, they have fun together and open up to each other. It's a good story about two people who learn to give and receive from another person when they've shut themselves away from entanglements.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Bosses and Babies series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Jack is the sexy as all get out CEO and sexist bachelor owner of Lions, Inc. with his partner a cyber security company. Between trying to take of the security breach and getting a new assistant due his Executive Assistant being fired. Violet is looking for work, her roommate Stuart recommend she apply for Lion, Inc. See he is a real estate agent and just sold Jack a beach house. She is hired and realized her sexy as all get out boss is a jerk when she calls him out on his behavior, she thinks he is going to fire but instead something else their chemistry is intense and instant, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored so they give in but with stipulations do not fall in love and sex only nothing more or less. What happens when emotional bonds weren’t on the menu, and attachments certainly weren’t supposed to form. But when fate put things in people/place and love rears her beautiful and throws yet another wrench into the works where will it all lead?

Sweet, fun and smexy with some drama added in

Boss with Benefits is the third book in the Bosses and Babies series and is the story of Jack McCann and Violet Williams. Jack is the CEO of Lion, Inc and hires Violet as he Executive Assistant after she is recommended. The only issue may be that they are both really attracted to each other. Violet desperately needs a job so when she is offered the job she jumps at the chance. They work well together but Jack is a bit of an a$$ as a way to put a buffer between them and Violet. Violet is a real sweetheart to sees the good in everyone and she ends up being able to break through that rough shell Jack has had to build around himself in order to survive and then thrive. So when they end up celebrating a new client acquisition a little too much and end up in bed together, making a real connection, things go a bit off-kilter between them. Then add in an unexpected present from that night and things get even more interesting. Violet knows what she wants but it is Jack willing to let down his guard enough to allow Violet into his heart, home and life?
This was a cute and entertaining story. Jack and Violet are two likeable characters even though they are both very different. But together they are able to make their own HEA.

Jack is the handsome, workaholic CEO of a cyber security firm that is dealing with a security breach caused by his last EA. Violet left Iowa after college to be independent and is hired as Jack’s new assistant in LA. Jack soon realizes that Violet is efficient and hardworking but he is demanding and acts like a jerk to her because he is attracted to Violet and he doesn’t want to get too close to her or show how much he likes her. After Violet helps Jack win an important client they become intimate but decide to remain professional in the office. Will a crisis at work and a threat tear them apart or can they find happiness together?

I enjoyed this book where the independent woman and her boss become involved and I give it 4.5 stars. Violet moved to LA to become a professional rather than stay in Iowa and marry a man her parents chose for her and have a family. Jack had left an abusive home situation when he was 17 and was now a successful CEO but was dealing with business problems and trying to deny his attraction to Violet. I enjoyed their story and the epilogue was a great ending for their story.

Classic enemies-to-lovers tale. Jack has started from nothing and is a self-made billionaire. Disaster has struck and the actions of an incompetent assistant has put his whole IT security company in jeopardy; putting him on the defensive struggling to save his empire. Enter Violet, a country girl keen to make her mark in the big city. Because of his past Jack doesn’t trust easily but is immediately floored by his instant, visceral attraction when he interviews Violet for the job of executive assistant. What with his personal hang-ups, and his company policy against employee liaisons Jack is brusque and downright rude as he fights to keep things with Violet professional. From the start Violet sees her new boss as an arrogant, moody, pain in the butt…until that one night. Blame the fact of her growing feelings for her boss? The alcohol? Or is it just plain old chemistry? All they both know is that things will never be the same again – especially when an unexpected consequence of their actions happens. A great read with a swoon-worthy HEA.

I have to say I love Boss and employee stories. And this story is no different. This couple is not supposed to catch feelings for each other let alone have any type of relationship other than Boss and Executive Assistant. It is in the company policy manual and who would ever break that rule. Especially when he is a CO owner of the company. So clearly not him, right? Oh, so wrong we are. She thinks he is a jerk but there is that fine line they say and it is a broken fine line. He does not want kids and they have to keep things between them as a just boss with benefits. LOL. What happens when they get further into things with each other. Do they stay just benefits or does that line get blurred and they fall for each other? Guess you are going to have to grab this book along with the other two in the series and get to reading.

Book 4: Boss with Benefits: A Secret Baby Romance: 5 stars
I received a free copy of the steamy novel Boss with Benefits: A Secret Baby Romance: Jack and Violet by Crystal Monroe and this review was given freely.

A touch of irony, vivid characters and multiple steamy scenes fill the pages of this rocky office place romance where part time Iowan jewelry designer Violet seeks freedom and independence in California only to have her plans changed by her new boss, the emotionally scarred, disillusioned and frustrated multimillionaire owner of Beverly Hills’ Lion Cybersecurity, Jack McCann, who is struggling to rebuild his clientele while avoid a stalker and hiding his attraction to Violet behind a harsh façade.

18+ for steamy scenes. Contains a tender and heartwarming ending

Such an awesome read. Violet moves from Iowa to LA. She lands a job with a cybersecurity company owed by Jack. Her friend Stuart and Jack's real estate agent referred her to Jack. Immediately when she interviews there is instant attraction for them both. Not wanting to break his own rule he fights it. She fights it because he is her boss.
Let me just say their benefits become a habit and necessity. Meanwhile there are so many things going on a new contract for the company, Jack has woman obsessed with him and it is not Violet, and her crazy ex is racking up charges on her credit card. So much stuff but they still manage to get together for the last time many times. Excellent read.

Jack is the CEO of a cyber security company, after a breach he needs to find a new executive assistant as the last one was way over her head. After a suggestion from a friend, he hires Violet. He is instantly attracted to her but he has a rule to never get involved with his employees. Violet is put off by Jack's manner in her interview, even though he is good looking she thinks him rude, condescending and basically an ass but she needed the job. But will they be able to work together without letting their feelings get involved especially even when they seem like they want to kill each other but end up sleeping together instead?

I enjoyed this story and would recommend reading it.

Violet becomes Jacks assistant and works her butt off to pay the debts her ex-boyfriend racked up stealing her credit cards Jack and Violet have amazing chemistry but both of them have trust issues so decide to have a no strings attached relationship. The only problem is each of them loves the other but is afraid to tell one another. Then things take a turn due to misunderstanding and they are both too stubborn to work it out. Author Cassie Cole has done it again! There is nothing that I am enjoying more these days than a juicy reverse harem storyline. The fact that this author delved into the world of the OnlyFans sidehustle made this story just that much more intriguing and sexy. Three insanely hot men, 1 resourceful, independent woman and an intricate, interesting plot I was drawn in immediately and unable to put this book down until I had devoured every single page. Thank you, Cassie Cole, for introducing me to my 3 newest book boyfriends.  They don't get any more sizzling hot or delicious than Kai, Michael and August. This is a must read book!!!.

Violet and Jack are immediately attracted to each other. She desperately needs the job as his assistant. He needs her just as much. In order to keep her at arms length he’s a major grump! Violet takes it in stride and eventually they succumb to temptation. They agree every time will be the last but they can’t stay away from each other.

This is such a sweet office romance. You’ve got a grumpy boss, sweet h, tons of chemistry and a surprise secret baby. Medium burn, 3/5 steam level, no cheating, a bit of OW drama, no cliffhanger and a very sweet HEA.

A sweet story that will make you smile.

This is the third book in the series Bosses and Babies. I liked this one it was a sweet story and of course a baby will be in the mix of it.

Violet has just been hired as the by the sexy bachelor CEO, Jack that also is a very grumpy man that scolds her off when ever he feels like it. But is he doing it cause he hates her or is it cause he is trying to hide the fact that he can't keep his mind of her being in his bed?

It is a sweet story that has a bit of passion and a stubborn man that won't see what he has right in front of him until things get complicated.

Good romance, simple, but moving
It's a good romance, well-written, warm, tender, sometimes touching, with twists and turns, but it's a bit predictable from a Violet and Jack's relationship perspective. Certain points of the problems encountered by Jack seem to bear the dramaturgy of the story, but they are elucidated in a few sentences, whereas they would have deserved more precision whether on the why of the problematic situations, or on the consequences, or even on the means of resolutions. It's a shame since the consequences are bound to be enormous each time.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Violet comes into his life when Jack really needs her. She is there to help straighten out the mess but their attraction competes for center stage. They make an agreement that neither can secretly keep. Between misunderstandings and miscommunication they almost lose their chance for happiness. A baby may complicated things but it was created by love. I enjoyed this book and all of the characters. Jack and Violet are perfect for each other.

What a great book!!!!!!!

This book had it all love, sex, friendship and upheaval. Jack came from a rough upbringing of violence and poverty. He hadn't seen his parents since he turned 17. Violet came from a loving family who wanted her to get married and start a family. She wanted more so off to LA to live with her best friend Stuart until she was able to make it on her own. The things Jack and Violet go through is amazing. Of course, I cried because some things were just not fair. This is such a good book. Well worth reading!! :)
