After meeting Uriel in "Dragged Under," I don't know about you but I sure as heck wanted to know more about him and how he ended up in hell (literally). How an angel ends up on the wrong side of the tracks has to be a story worth telling.
It's not all rainbows and blue skies for this angel. Though he may have once known kindness and patience, centuries of torture have hardened his heart. Now all he wants is to return home to his mate. Little does he know that things are not the way they were when he left.
This story is more about forgiveness and fighting for the future after feeling broken for so long. For angels, these characters are flawed and full of angst. Each one of them has "sins" to overcome and the weight that comes along with them.
I felt like this story was harder to read for me because of all that Uriel and Jophiel went through in the name of love and all they lost for it. Betrayal, loneliness, brokenness - it's all there any it weighs heavy not only on Uriel's shoulders, but those of his brother angels. Not knowing the why's behind their actions lights the fire of ignition within me, but by the end of the book in able to find some peace. Is it my favorite so far? No, I still love the story of the Sins begin good in "Dragged Under", but I do love how the author is playing with the dichotomy of what good and evil really means. If there are more in this series, I will read them because this author is always a must read for me.
