After finding a strange blue stone on his way home from class, Parker’s world is turned upside down. The stone’s extraordinary powers transport him to a fantastical land called Elding, a world quite unlike his own.Lost in a realm of unfamiliarity, Parker does his best to adjust to his new normal. Parker continues his journey to the magical kingdom of Gallalaus, meeting many unique people and creatures along the way. He’s joined by a group of warriors, and they embark on countless adventures together. That is, until Parker’s reputation reaches Abaddon, the deranged king of the neighboring kingdom called Myrkur. Once Abaddon hears of Parker’s prowess, he’ll do anything to stop him from fulfilling the long lost prophecy that may just explain why Parker landed in Elding in the first place.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The plot was good, the setting was well described without being over the top, and it was easy to get read without getting hung up on descriptions, unfamiliar words, or overall unnecessary complexity that didn't aid in the development and movement of the story. There was none of that kind of nonsense. I'm looking forward to the next book!
Very good read! I wasn't sure at first but I was hooked by the 3rd chapter since the first three were free, and decided to buy the whole book. It ended on a big cliffhanger hopefully book two comes out this next year!
I think first person present tense is really difficult to do, I prefer 3rd person limited but otherwise, really compelling characters, scene writing, plot devices, and character development
