What in your life feels so urgent that you believe you can't slow down and rest? The Lord makes things simple. We are the ones who tend to complicate what He teaches us. In this 28-day devotional, you'll practice how to make His rest a part of your everyday living by:
- Following His Example of Rest (Week 1) - Looking to Him in Every Situation (Week 2) - Trusting Him (Week 3) - Making the Choice to Rest in Him (Week 4)
When you rest in Him, you can finally stop living exhausted and start living restored.
As a writer and speaker, Lisa Rowell uses her words to make our world a more peaceful place. Her heart beats for early childhood education, encouraging women, and pointing people to Jesus. Through the years, her work has been included in consumer magazines, in numerous Bible study and devotional collaborations and as a ghostwriter for popular consumer brands.
Lisa Rowell’s Simplifying Rest is a refreshing 28-day devotional encouraging us to Stop Living Exhausted & Start Living Restored.
This is a lovely resource for any season of life but is particularly encouraging for the weary heart whose days don’t seem to slow down.
I am one such heart. Full days of caretaking my dad, our home, along with loving my family often leaves small margin for anything else. But I have learned quiet time reading His word and praying in the morning leaves me fueled and refreshed prepared for the day.
Your time talking to the Lord may look radically different from mine, but Lisa’s encouragement begins with looking to Him as your example of rest, looking to Him in every situation, trusting Him, concluding with making the beneficial choice to rest in Him.
I found the daily readings refreshing and encouraging. Well done, Lisa!
What a fantastic read! Lisa Rowell has written a gem of a read. This is the kind of guide to resting with God and his Word that brought me great comfort. Although this is a 28 day devotional, I have made this a important part of my daily quiet time with him!
Rest…..something we all desperately need. Actually I’m still reading this book. (Goodreads didn’t get the dates right). I think this is a book I will revisit on a regular basis.
