~ Familiar Beginnings (Accidental Familiar: The Prequel) -- You don't need powers to be a witch or to be persecuted as evil. Things people will do to those they don't understand and make no effort to understand because of their perceived religious beliefs. Not realizing that GOD is love and inclusion. One of His biggest no-nos was not to judge. That's His job. Amie understands that even being a witch, a latent witch at that, doesn't make you less than, especially when using your intelligence to puzzle things out. Sure, having powers can make life more interesting, but it might not be all that beneficial to you or your cause.
~ All Too Familiar (Accidental Familiar Book 1) -- Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it... and boy, did Amie get it in spades. Poor Opie, seeing is believing. Makes you wonder what this says about his profession and his relationship with Amie. Good thing we have several more books to get us answers to all this madness.
~ Relatively Familiar (Accidental Familiar Book 2) -- "Ask and ye shall receive." When you seek only the simplest of things, it may come to you in abundance. Amie is going to find that out next. This has been a rollercoaster of a ride. And the family dynamic will take some getting used to. Wow, if this story isn't a PSA for prejudice and biases, I don't know what is. We all have to live together in this world, and I don't believe that God and the Goddess make mistakes. Some of us are just born with gifts, and those that are may be different from others. Wouldn't this world be a very boring, primitive place if we were all the same? Monotony is not my favorite place to be. I like diversity, mysteries of the unknown, and getting to know other cultures...their place, people, etc. How can we evolve if we refuse to learn and accept those around us? Just take a look at all the inventions and strides we've made. We wouldn't have been able to do it without diversity--in all things.
~ Un-Familiar Magic (Accidental Familiar Book 3) -- Oh, no...say it ain't so! Conflicted is right. It's that whole gray area, you know, nothing is as black and white as it's portrayed. You must be open to ALL blessings. Those that don't go in your favor may help you down the road later, whether directly or indirectly. If you don't have the bad, how can you appreciate the good? Yeah, I know, the bad sometimes really sucks. Keep the faith.
~ Home Familiar Home (Accidental Familiar Book 4) -- Well, you don't see that every day--murders, hauntings, thefts, and other crimes. Although with witches, it can increase your odds of experiencing them all. Well, perhaps not the thefts so much, but everything else is fair game. Now on to the main event! See you at the end. We should look into getting a protection spell for ourselves. You never know what might show up in this series finale next.
~ A Familiar Tail (Accidental Familiar Book 5) -- Well, well, well... How is it that some factions think they are above others and can regulate all, even knowing that they, themselves, serve a higher being, can judge others, and threaten oversight because they are scared of a more powerful mortal being than themselves? Just because you are of a belief in one God, you believe you have the right to police those of another and the powers She grants them? Council or no, but that is not your station. What if the shoe were on the other foot? How would you like to be looked at and scrutinized under a microscope because others see your God-given power as a threat to them? Check your superiority complex at the door.
