Wellbeing: An easy guide to enhancing and maintaining your wellbeing

Rate this book
“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” (WHO). Many people struggle to overcome the challenges of modern life in order to make their wellbeing a priority. You may feel like you have no interests outside of work. Or you may feel really stale. I want you to know that you’re not alone in feeling any of these things. And all of these are symptoms that say you need to take care of yourself and positively look at ways to enhance your wellbeing. This short guide • Why wellbeing is important • What the opposite of wellbeing looks like • What barriers you may face in prioritising your wellbeing • Practical tips on how to add to your wellbeing on areas • Sleeping • Exercise • Eating well • Quality time • Play • Forgive yourself • Gratitude • Process your feelings • Set boundaries • Purpose FAQs with author, Angharad Boyson Q – Is wellbeing different to self-care? I don’t think so. I think they’re both ways of referring to holistic health. Self-care sometimes gets a bad rep, with people thinking purely of Instagram-based aspects of self-care like bubble baths and face masks. But self-care also incorporates things like your regular dental check-up. Wellbeing and self-care are about taking a really holistic view in the way that you do thing, so that your health is optimal in every aspect. Q – Why are your guides so short? This guide is 50 pages which I think is a great size for people to read, digest and implement. I don’t want to write an unwieldy textbook that people may or may not read and then forget about. I want these guides to be really easy to read, understand and then take action on. The key to change is to think or behave differently. As a coach, I’m all about empowering change and I want to make it as easy as possible. Might there be longer books in future? There could well be, but at the moment I'm keeping it short, sweet and hopefully really readable! Q – What do you do as well as writing the Easy Guide series? My life mission is to use my love of learning to help others learn what their best, happiest and most fulfilled lives would look like – and then help them live it. I work with individuals one-on-one and in groups (as part of the Life on Track course) as a coach and I work with corporations both as an Executive coach and as a trainer, delivering workshops to help empower people to make meaningful change. Angharad has an MSc in Occupational Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Personal and Business Coaching and is the Founder and Head Coach at bright rebel coaching ltd. She has previously published An easy guide to maintaining your effectiveness, also available from Amazon.
