Fireworks and sparks fly a little late this year in the next explosive whodunit within the Paramour Bay Mysteries by USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne… The annual Midsummer Festival had to be postponed this year due to a nor’easter causing considerable damage to the quaint coastal town of Paramour Bay. Now that the scattered debris and fallen trees had been removed from the surrounding neighborhoods and town square, the residents are more than ready to relax and enjoy the festivities. It’s too bad that not everyone shares the same sentiment. When Raven Marigold and her familiar take a morning stroll through town square, they notice something amiss behind a bench near one of the food stands...the kind of something that could go kaboom! You’ll need a steady hand to help solve this unpredictable whodunit!
Kennedy Layne is a USA Today bestselling author. She draws inspiration for her romantic thrillers in part from her not-so-secret second life as a wife of a retired Marine Master Sergeant. He doubles as her critique partner, beta reader, and military consultant. Kennedy also has a deep love for cozy mysteries, thrillers, and basically any book that can keep her guessing until the very end. They live in the Midwest with their menagerie of pets. The loyal dogs and mischievous cats appreciate her writing days as much as she does, usually curled up in front of the fireplace.
Sparkling Blend (Paramour Bay Book #21) The Paramour Bay Series by Kennedy Layne proved to be full of fun cozy mysteries full of paranormal intrigue, and heartwarming charm. Set in the enchanting seaside town of Paramour Bay, the series follows Raven Marigold, who is a relatable and endearing character who discovers she’s a witch. From the very first book, I was drawn into a world filled with magical mishaps, quirky townsfolk, and a touch of humor that kept the tone light and engaging. Paramour Bay came alive with its quaint shops, mysterious coves, and a community that’s as eccentric as it is lovable. Ms. Layne’s writing style is approachable and immersive, making it so easy for me to lose myself in the pages (in a great way – NOT in a ‘I have no idea of what’s going on’ way 😊). Each book introduces a new mystery, often tied to the supernatural, and the twists are clever without being overly complex - perfect for fans of cozy mysteries. So, whether you’re a fan of paranormal tales, cozy mysteries, or simply looking for a feel-good series to curl up with, Paramour Bay is a magical escape that will leave you smiling. It’s a perfect brew of mystery, magic, and heart. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a touch of whimsy with their whodunits. Let the Binge Begin. Happy Reading…
This is a charming, witty, and whimsical story by Kennedy Layne. The annual Midsummer Festival had to be postponed this year due to a nor’easter causing considerable damage to the quaint coastal town of Paramour Bay. A pipebomb makes for a good mystery in this tale of events that are enticing. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Back in Paramour Bay with Raven, Mr Leo and the rest of the team.
It's the weekend of the delayed Midsummer Fair (delayed because of the storm), and of course it doesn't run smoothly. Apart from the fact Agnus (the local druid) has finished her pentagram and has come into town to see a new resident, which doesn't bode week for Halloween; Raven just happens to come across a bomb on her early morning walk!
Of course, there's more to this story, but I'm not going to spoil it, except to say it's aother good read from the town with more supernatural beings than most! Mr Leo's humourous running commentary all helps towards me highly recommending this book.
It's best to have read the previous books in the series, although each book is a standalone story, the back story develops along the series.
I can't believe there are already 21 books in this series - it is such fun to read. I admit to being heavily influenced by cover art to even get me to pick up a book and the covers for this series are so cute that they immediately caught my eye originally and here we are on book #21 - still reading! A great cast of characters, although Leo can get a bit on your nerves if you binge read like I did for the first few. I also didn't get the horsefly thing in this one - but Leo's commentary is amusing as always. This series is definitely worth a read - enjoy!
Another fun adventure with the Paramour Bay gang. After the big storm's destruction is finally cleaned up in Paramour Bay the town is all set for their Midsummer Festival. Raven Marigold and her familiar Leo find what they think might be a bomb. After the bomb is defused it is time to find who set it. I loved all of Leo's antics and the efforts Raven, Leo, Heidi and Liam go to to solve this mystery. I love this series!
Raven and Leo stumble into danger in this episode. A non magical mystery challenges our troupe, but they work together and catch the bad guy, of course.
