A pie to die for, tangled family ties, and farmer's market folly...
Sixth in the Belle Harbor Cozy Mystery series!
Buoyed by a new baking alliance with her business neighbor, Tilly teams up with her to enter the annual berry pie competition. Coupled with her parents first visit to quaint Belle Harbor, Tilly's got her plate full. No sooner does she reconnect with her mom, than a dead body inserts itself front and center.
With the death of his father, the heir apparent to the ceramic pie plate empire is prime suspect number one. But as Tilly, and her unlikely sleuthing partner mom team up to investigate, they quickly find layers of deception buried deep in the history of the annual pie competition.
Tilly and her mom reveal the length contestants will go to for the top prize in the contest. Can they slice up this juicy mystery to serve up the killer or will they be forced to eat humble pie?
Pies and Pandemonium is Book 6 in the Belle Harbor Cozy Mystery series. A light, cozy mystery in a quaint beach town with a fun loving, amateur female sleuth, her quirky uncle, and enough antiques and pastries to fill your home and your belly. No gore, swearing or cliffhangers. Can be read as a standalone.
Sue Hollowell is a wife and empty nester with a lot of mom left over. Finding a lot of time on her hands, and as a lover of mystery novels, she began telling the story of a character who appeared in her head.
The Chemical Bond is a book about Meredith Markette, a young woman who reluctantly enters into the field of law enforcement when her police officer father is killed in the line of duty. Her quest is to discover his murderer and in the meantime come to terms with a tragedy of her youth.
Will this book ever see the light of day? Maybe. Sue really likes the story and character. And writing that book taught her a ton about the publishing industry. Through this experience she has discovered a love of writing stories, and especially mysteries. She hopes you enjoy her books as much as she enjoys writing them.
She and her husband are on the search to adopt a dog, really missing her spaniels that passed a couple of years ago.
Tilly's parents visit her. I liked the characters, who leapt off the pages, so smoothly and real. These books keep revealing more about Tilly. her family and friends.
I literally can’t even finish this. worst novella I’ve read all month. I stopped reading about the 50% mark because everything was so freaking chaotic. The mom was made to be erratic sounding and acting which made her seem like such a suspect for the murder. the mom behavior didn’t make sense at all half the time to who she was suppose to be as a person. Tilly literally let the victims girlfriend steal from the victims son and didn’t say a word. I just don’t understand any of this. I was just so freaking angry and irritated with this.
And furthermore, I actually like some of the previous books in this series. This book was just too out there for me. Will not be continuing the series after this one. Overall, do not recommend.
Tilly's life couldn't be busier. She's in the middle of trying to lease the closed pizza restaurant to expand her increasingly popular baking business and she's entered the local pie contest. On top of that, her parents are visiting for the first time since she moved to Belle Harbor. When another body is found, surprisingly, it's Tilly's mom who jumps into the middle of the investigation alongside her daughter. I love the small beach town of Belle Harbor as well as the residents. The only thing missing in this book is Fiona, Tilly's BFF. I loved this book and highly recommend the series. I just know you will love it as much as I do. Happy reading!

These people took their pie competitions seriously for just a ribbon. Terry should have been more careful around these pie people! Tilly's mom was a bit too dramatic for me and both her parents could really have several seats with their judgements on the decisions she made for her life. Thank God for Unkie and Linda for their support. I thought the cop's name of Barney was too funny and made the town really sound like they were in Mayberry!! If baking doesn't work out for Tilly, she could always open up a private investigator's office. I'm sure her mom would LOVE that! Loved the cleanness of the novel and not having to cringe at the use of colorful words at every turn!!

Pies and Pandemonium (A Belle Harbor Cozy Mystery Book 6), my twenty-first enjoyable short (107- page) read from author Sue Hollowell that I finished in about 90-minutes. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book am reading it & voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with Coffee Cake and Calamities (A Belle Harbor Cozy Mystery Book 7) next on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.
Another fun cozy mystery novella set in Belle Harbor. The annual pie contest is taking place at the farmers market. Tilly and her friend Florence enter their creation. A dead body is discovered by Meg, Tilly’s mom who has come to visit. It was fun seeing Tilly’s mom Meg, who was a little bit quirky and lots of overbearing, help Tilly solve the murder. Her dad helped Tilly see her dream come true of her own cafe and seeing her sweet unkie always so supportive of Tilly. A quick read that was enjoyable.
A cozy mystery that's entertaining and full of suspense, mystery, twists, turns, intrigue and of course murder. The characters are fun, easy to get to know and interact well together as they work to solve the mystery of who did it. Cozy mystery fans will love this one and if you haven't read a cozy mystery, this is a great series to start with.

I enjoyed it. Tilly and her friends are at fair with pies and food contests. It starts out as a perfect calm day like the calm before the storm. Poor Tilly has her critical mother visiting her and all of the sudden, there is a body. I loved Tilly and her Unkie. I loved her and her friend Florence. I liked Sue's scene descriptions because they made me feel like I was in on the action. I received this as an arc and freely left this review.
Tilly and her mom, Meg, are hot on the trail of who killed the owner of the pie pan factory in town. The son is at the top of the list, but did he do it? The characters are wonderful and well written. The storyline has plenty of surprises and twists that keep you guessing until the end. Loved the bakery Tilly is planning and all the stuff she is finding to use there. The ending was terrific.

Really cute book, despite the murder. Tilly has moved away from her parents, although mum is so scared that something will happen to her daughter. They have come for a visit, and landed in the middle of a murder. Instead of the usual return home immediately scenario, her mum becomes involved in sleuthing and helps find the killer. She also supports Tilly with the beginnings of her own cafe purchase.
I was really happy for Tilly that the visit from her parents she'd initially dreaded ended up going so well. In fact, Mom seemed quite the little sleuth which probably surprised the heck out of Tilly. I like her parents a lot, actually I like her dad a lot more, but Mom wasn't too bad once she lightened up some. By the time they solved a murder together, I imagine Tilly's mom was looking at her daughter in a whole new light. Always a fun visit in Belle Harbor!
Tillie's parents are coming to Belle Harbor. Tillie is nervous, with good reason. She is entered in a pie contest and going to check out a place to expand her business. But when her mother comes and finds a dead body at the pie contest, things change and in a big way! I enjoyed this story and the characters very much. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Tilly has hired an assistant and is in search of a new location. At the same time her parents come for their first visit while she is preparing for the annual pie competition. On the day of the judging her mother finds a dead body in the contest area. She then helps Tilly solve the murder. A fun read
Another great addition to the series! One that lends to telling us more about Tilley and her family relationships from both the past and present and gives us a peak in to her future in Bell Harbor. Along with a great mystery cozy mystery to be solved along the way!
With Tilly's parents in town and getting ready for the opening of her new bakery, a pie competition adds to what she has to juggle. Oh, and of course, murder! Another cute installment with some interesting adventures with Tilly's mom. I always enjoy the addition of a baking competition in these cozy mysteries
No longer Polly’s Pizza it will be Luna’s bakery and cafe. With the help of Tilly’s mom and dad they have fixed up the former pizza place. Oh and solved a murder. Can’t wait for the next one
As Tilly and her assistant/partner are trying to expand the bakery her mom and dad arrive for a visit. Tilly and her neighbor enter the pie baking contestant and while setting up her mom finds a dead body. Great story with family reconciliation thanks
This is a short but sweet story of starting over in a different town, in a different lifestyle and mending a relationship with one's parents. Adding some spice is the murder of the maker of ceramic pie plates used in the local berry pie competition.
What a beautiful and wonderful story! I absolutely love this series! All about family, friends and sharing in the joy of having fun ! This series of stories is extremely entertaining! Can't wait to begin the next one!
This was definitely a cozy lite mystery. Baker enters pie in local contest. Right after, one of the pie bakers was dead. Everyone in the story tries to figure out mystery.
Tilly is in for some excitement with her parent’s visit, the berry pie competition, looking for a new bakery and murder. Tilly hasn’t seen her parents since she moved from Boston to Belle Harbor. She is dreading it since she left with tension between her and her mother. Will they get along or will there be a push to move back to Boston? During this she decides to enter the berry pie competition with Florence. Unfortunately, before the competition can begin someone is murdered. Who was it and why? Join Tilly and a surprise sleuth that helps her investigate the murder. Will Tilly and Uncle Unkie stay together or will her parents convince her to move back home? This was such a nice read. It was well-written and the characters are captivating. The mystery pulls you in and keeps you guessing. If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly recommend it.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
