While reading the sensitively told accounts of Pulwama Terror attack and moving account of Balakot Air STRIKE and Abhinandan saga i.e. Pakistan's failed Op Swift retort one tends to find himself amongst the happenings.

Amazingly written by the author, this book had the most engrossing and fast-moving narrative of recent epochal events that changed the way world looked at India.

The book is coupled with very interesting and minute details of each and every incident that happened in those days.

Kudos to the author.

Disclaimer : The author claims this to be a work of fiction based on real events. It’s his rendition of how India could have done what it did after the Pulwama attack and what all followed afterwards.

It was an absolute delight reading this book. It takes you through the mesmerizing Kashmir all the way to the return of our Wing Commander. Each chapter is very engrossing and as you head towards the end, it would actually surprise you to think that it all started in the divine scapes of Kashmir.

Though I would have died to read one on how the actual Balakot Strikes happened but of course that being not possible, this one comes very close and narrates every event with minute details. It actually feels like a movie especially in the chapters of the Balakot strikes and the PAF F-16 dog chase.

The book however ends on a somber tone when it describes the plight of the Indian POWs rotting in Pakistan for ages - the author gives account of a few officers there and lists the name of at least 54 confirmed POWs of India - some from 1965 some from 1971. The chapter “Tomaar Baadi Kothae” is one which would break your heart.

The author himself being a defense veteran doesn’t mince words to point out whether it is the needed but cruel policy of our defense forces or the lack of intent of our politicians, at the end of the day it’s the lives of the army men on the line which many a times are just considered collateral damage.

As for me, I would pray that India keeps the intent and respect that she has now to get each and every of her brave hearts back - of the past and of the future, if any ( I hope to not have any).

Recommended to at least know how operations like this are planned and executed.

The last page of the book reveals that the
writer is a soldier himself. I realised the reason behind his bare it all writing. This book is shocking to the core. Not anything one would have anticipated. Still the balance in storyline is amazing and touch humane.

Religious fanaticism and mental disorder are the two sides of the same coin” writes the author Manan Bhatt in this book.
How true is that !

On the ill-fated morning of 14th February 2019, 40 CPRF personnel attainted veergati when a convoy of vehicles transporting around 2500 CPRF personnel were attacked by the Pakistani harbored suicide bomber. How can one forget the grave silence and fury burning under the skin of every Indian.

It had to be avenged.

Balakot Air Strike – How India Avenged Pulwama authored by Navy Veteran Manan Bhatt is a strikingly written book with crisp details from one of the recent events in the Indian military history.

The book opens with an heartwarming episode that captures the life of the CPRF head constable posted in Kashmir. The author has done an exceptional job at bringing out the emotional last journey of the Pulwama martyrs. Even the stealthiest of them all will be shaken after this chapter. The last call to the family, the last messages exchanged, the last few conversations that transpired between the martyrs and their loved ones will be forever etched in my memory. The details of the blast will leave you in tears and unfathomable fury.

While the nation mourned for the martyrs, India’s defense forces burnt the midnight oil behind the desk, planning to avenge and show the Neighbors that today’s India is not going to sit and watch, transformed India is going to answer back with grit and force. Our neighbors did not have a slightest idea about what was coming their way.

It is not hard to comprehend after reading a few pages that the author is a soldier himself. The command over the subject, meticulous details of the warfare, the aircrafts and the in-depth proficiency on missiles can only be found in a soldier. The author takes us through the nerve racking events from the planning of the balakot air strike in the war-rooms, to the attack on the terror camps on wee hours of the 26th February and striking hard with precision, deep behind the enemy lines by crossing the LOC for the first time ever. The author’s narration of every second left me feeling like I was right there amidst all the nail biting sequences. The technical details of the strike are mind-blowing, thoroughly over bowled by the writer’s style of presentation. The writer then takes the interest of the reader up by several notches with the intense narration of the midair skirmishes that took place between the PAF 16 and the MiG 21 Bison which took down the Pakistani fighter jet with ease.  The author has not left out any gruesome details of days of torture inflicted by the Pakistani army officials on the wing commander Abhinandan who became a POW (Prisoner of War) when his fighter jet was shot down minutes after PAF-16 met its final fate. An overwhelming feeling of patriotism and pride fueled me while I read how Wing commander Abhinandan braved fearlessly through those 60 odd hours and returned back to his homeland safely.

The author ends the book with a vital piece of history that probably most of us are not aware about. The missing Prisoners of War from the 1965 & 71 wars who were declared missing in action and till date there has not been any credible news about the 54 POW’s. The book on a different dimension reflects how the present government and PMO gave the complete freedom of the retaliation to the security forces and instilled immense trust in them. From when security forces were asked to not cross LOC on any instance during kargil war to now where we retaliated fearlessly by crossing the LOC and razing down the terror groups to mere dust, India has come a long way.

What I particularly loved about this book was that the author has not held back on the truth, has called spade a spade and has unapologetically described how the terror outfits and radical islamists are responsible for the violence against humanity. He also mentioned how the media joined in to humanize and whitewash the Islamic fanatic and tried to paint the suicide bomber’s life story as one of the simpleton who was framed and turned into a terrorist by the state. This should not come off as a surprise considering how “unbaised” our media agencies are.

A must read for everyone. Simple language coupled with thrilling bits makes it an excellent read.

My namans to the 40 CPRF personnel who attained veergati. We shall never forget your sacrifice for Bharatha.

Jai hind ! 🇮🇳

This is an extra ordinary good book. The Author starts from the Pulwama suicide bombing which killed 40 CRPF personnel going in a bus, most of them on leave. Suicides were never that frequent in Kashmir and this attack horrified everyone and plunged the nation in sorrow. This raised the stakes to the extant that for the first time the Indian Air Force crossed the border and bombed the terrorist complex at Balakot. The stakes went higher and there were skirmishes in the air with a Pakistani F 16 allegedly shot down leading to the shooting down of an Indian plane and a pilot being made prisoner. The Author takes us through this entire nail biting sequence of events till the pilot is released. As the Author points out, his is a work of fiction but it skirts close to the truth. The entire series of events are so well brought out that the Author has set a standard which will be hard for others to match. It is obvious he has done a lot of meticulous research and I can't but admire the technical details of the events. There is very little jingoism and I'm full of admiration of how Manan has sensitively handled the whole story. He is to be complimented and i recommend that the book is widely read by all. You won't be disappointed.

Just read this true events from the book. Hair raising interpretation of everything that happened during those days. The fateful pulwama blast is narrated vividly but the author is sensitive to the core keeping in mind the emotions attached with the Blast victim soldiers' families.

Being an Indian I felt emotionally attached to this account of Balakot Air Strikes which tells the story of a new resurgent India.

'Indian War Story of the Century' 'Must Read'

The Pulwama terror strike, where a suicide bomber struck a CRPF convoy and killed a truck load of CRPF jawans was a watershed moment in the conduct of counter insurgency operations in J&K. It was one of those rare occasions where a home-grown terrorist primed and motivated by his handlers rammed a car full of explosives onto a bus, destroying it completely and killing all the personnel inside. It is possible that even the terrorists, who controlled this depressed and deluded young man, did not expect such success. One hopes there was much heart searching and a thorough investigation. The NIA seems to have done a reasonable job in carrying out its investigation. Whether our organization drew out all the right lessons in tactics and man management is a moot point.
What was remarkable was the Indian reaction. For the first time an air attack was launched across the Line of Control onto a terrorist camp in the hinterland. For two nuclear belligerents this was threshold which had never been crossed, even in the Kargil War. It raises more questions as to what lines can be crossed and both adversaries need to tread carefully. Pakistan has learnt that impunity is no longer a factor in planning and perhaps will be more careful in what it undertakes. The Line of Control remains active still as infiltration by well-armed terrorist groups persists. Their controllers in India will have to plan carefully so that their actions do not cross a threshold which now remains ill defined.
It must also have become clear to the Pakistanis that despite their superiority in certain types of aircraft, the Indian Air Force has a trick or two up its sleeve.
Petty Officer Manan Bhatt has written a remarkable book. A lot of research has gone into it and he covers each aspect of it thoroughly and with a facility which only adds to the thrill and excitement the book generates.
As the chapters unfold, Bhatt examines each aspect with a professional eye and builds on the story. Obviously, he has taken a few liberties, but they only add to the quality of his writing. The suspense builds up as the doomed convoy goes north to Srinagar from Jammu. The explosion by the car is very well covered including the carnage. The Author examines the training, profile and the psyche of the terrorist and his research is evident. How the vulnerable youth of the Valley are lured by carefully directed propaganda is well brought out.
The decision to strike the camp at Balakot and the planning and preparation is also gone into detail. Obviously, the Author has done his research and is familiar with the technical terms and the tactics. Thereafter, the Author excellently gives out an extended treatment of the raid and the strike itself. He has gone into details and the reader gets drawn into the thrill of the action. It is amply clear that the citizens should be justly proud of their Air Force.
The stakes went higher as an air battle takes place along the Line of Control where the skirmishes in the air took place, with a Pakistani F 16 shot down leading to the shooting down of an Indian plane and the pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardhaman being made prisoner of War. The Author writes with a sure touch and we must admire the grit and courage of the Wing Commander who went through such an intense experience and faced torture with admirable equanimity. He justly deserves his award.
The Author takes us through this entire nail biting sequence of events till the pilot is released. As the Author points out, his is a work of fiction but it skirts real close to the truth. The entire series of events are so well brought out that the Author has set a standard which will be hard for others to match. It is obvious he has done a lot of meticulous research and I can't but admire the technical details of the events. There is very little jingoism and I'm full of admiration of how Manan has sensitively handled the whole story.
I must say that the Author is to be complimented. I don’t think we’ll get a book of this quality soon. It’s an excellent story to read for the citizen and soldier alike. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to the reading public. You won't be disappointed.

The book is basically moved around two incidents which gave a sheer statement to the world that " India is not going to tolerate any kind of monopoly in the borders which leads to death of our brave soldiers".
.
The book moved around the Pulwama attack following to the Balakot air strike.
.
It was 14 Feb 2019 when a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel was attacked by a suicide bomber which leads to the demise of our bravery soldiers.
.
This was a heart breaking & mourning moment for all over the India. But our government are on a mission to plan something very big & out of the box which no one can ever imagined in the wildest dream.
.
India is on a move to counter attack against this attack & soon after on 26th of Feb above 4000km of Sea level India's fighter jets entered into Balakot, Pakistan which is the base of terrorists & destroyed it completely to showcase the power of India & how dangerous they can be to the world wide. It's officially an "air strike" in Balakot by India against the terrorists.

Review Of Book Balakot Air-Strike How India Avenged Pulwama By Author Manan Bhatt📚

The book is based on the true events which took place in 2019 when the military base of Indian army was invaded by the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad. The CRPF cadets were killed brutally when they were asleep in their base camps in Pulwama district and other than that many CRPF soldiers were killed on multiple occasions by the terrorists.

In this particular book the author Manan Bhatt who is a veteran of Indian Navy has done a wonderful job at giving us the insights about the attacks and aftermath of the attacks and how our Indian Air Force avenged the deaths of the fallen heroes of the brutal attacks. We all knew that how Captain Abhinandan Varthaman along with the IAF squad had carried out the mission over the LOC and how they destroyed the terrorist’s base camps and during the attack his plane was targeted and he was held captive by the army of Pakistan for 60 hours and was tortured inspite of all this repeated attempts by the enemy Captain Abhinandan did not gave up, he was adamant about his actions and the Indian government made sure that he returned back to our country alive. The entire war room scenarios and detailed description about the Indian forces fighting in union to take down the terrorists.

Attacks on Pulwama and Uri base camps were very brutal and no one can get over the horrific deaths of our nation’s soldiers and there was very much anger among the people of our country and the forces as well because everyone wanted vengeance of the innocent deaths. Throughout the entire read we as readers get to relive all the emotions that the author has penned down very nicely so that the readers can feel them all along. The vocabulary of the book was pretty good and the language was nice so that it would be easy for the readers to understand, all the technical things regarding the Indian forces was also explained very well so that the readers get an overview.
