Taken by the Stranger

Rate this book
At thirteen, I was promised to another man. At eighteen, I was married off to him by my parents. A day before we would consummate our union, as a last ditch effort to save myself, I put an online ad asking for a stranger to take me away. I never thought it would actually happen. Now, the man holding me has no intention of ever letting me go. In fact, his plans for me are much more dark and twisted than anything I ever could have imagined.

"I can't do this thing called life without you here with me 'Cause I'm dangerously in love with you I'll never leave "-Destiny’s Child

Sophie just got married and she’s got a big secret 🤫. Sophie just put an AD on a kink playroom for someone to kidnap her. Like show up at the house snatch her up and keep her. She’s sick of living in her ivory castle and this is the only way she can be free.

What Sophie doesn’t know is that she’s about to get taken away for real 😳 . It was a legit Law and Order SVU episode out here on these streets. Phoenix is a bad boy construction 🚧 worker whose got a better body than Hercules and a soul darker than Hades.

With all that being said he isn’t expecting Sophie even though he knows exactly who she is when he kidnaps her. He’s just not expecting her to be so human. Phoenix assumes Sophie is a spoiled rich brat 🤑who will do anything to stay on top. What he doesn’t realize is it’s anything to stay on top of him.

This book freaking rocked and it checked all my major boxes 📦!!!
Honey you know the works !!!
Stalking ✅
Daddy kinks ✅
Spanking ✅
Dirty talk enough to make a hooker blush ✅✅✅✅ and with all these fabulous things going for it there is a lovely insta-love for our two MCs!!! I didn’t know what to expect with this one and I am so happy I tapped in !!

This kept me guessing every step of the way because Phoenix was so hot 🥵 and cold 🥶 !!! His intentions for kidnapping Sophie were good but the execution was awful 😣!!! He isn’t a plans man 👨🏻 we know that even if he’s a fabulous Daddy "wink wink 😉"

I mean come here look at this fabulous quote !!!

"She moans back, and I slip my tongue into her mouth then wrap my arms around her torso. God, she’s so tiny. I may have kidnapped her, held a knife to her back, but I would never hurt this girl. Hell, I would go to the ends of the earth to protect her."

Do you know what that type of love is ?? That is in fact that dangerously in love that Beyoncé sung about and screamed on the streets!!!

Special thanks to the author an ARC. All thoughts are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Happy reading everyone 🥰😍🥰🥰

Actual Rating: 1.5 stars.

Weak. This could have had so much potencial, it had an interesting start, but the smut ended up being weak and so was the male protagonist. Not sexy at all. Then, the plot was ridiculous. Very disappointing.

It was ok, there were some parts that I didn’t like, specifically the way the hero spoke to the heroine in a degrading manner. Howver, I’ve read worse and the ending was ok.

Typical manwhore hero, although nothing too explicit is mentioned. Heroine is innocent. No others, no cheating, no physical or sexual abuse. Possible triggers: hero technically kidnaps heroine. HEA with epilogue

Hmm, this kinda takes insta lust to a whole new level. By the ratings and reviews I can see this book ticks the kink box for many, but I like a little emotion in my smut and this just felt too clinical for my personal taste. Like the author had to tick boxes that skirted consent, dirty talk, aggression, dominance and ott lust, but forget to inject just a dash of actual feeling. I'll read one more before I'm out.

Our heroine is trapped in a marriage she doesn't want, so she turns to extreme methods to escape. But will it work and at what cost?

This is a short romance story with a bit of kink thrown in for good measure. The story is very well written and easy to read, quickly drawing me in. Our characters are also well developed and have awesome chemistry. I really liked both out hero and heroine who each had their own good reasons for doing things. We also get plenty of steam and a nice HEA epilogue. Overall, a highly enjoyable story and I look forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.

No just No, I'm all for skirting the lines of propriety and consent but this book is so far over that line it landed on the Darkside. Just because it has a HEA doesn't mean it's not a Dark Novella and I definitely think this one should come with a warning label.

I'm talking Kidnapping and Rape, themes that are supposed to be okay because she's turned on and ends up wanting it maybe not at first but in the end. What makes it worse for me personally is that this guy doesn't do these things because of some misplaced feelings of love and adoration towards the girl he simply wants to Humiliate and Use her while he has her, at least in the being he does, that changes when we get to the HEA portion of our story. Even though they fall in love the guy never apologies or has to make amends for the shit he did to her it's all supposed to be okay because she got off on it.

Like I said I enjoy some of the more possessive alpha male stuff that can sometimes work in the gray areas of consent, to a certain extent, this book went too far for my liking though.

Since Sophie was 13 her life had been planned out for her, she was to marry Ken to unite two great family fortunes but before they could consumate their nuptials Sophie comes up with a plan. One she didn't think would happen let alone finding herself thrown from the frying pan into the fire! But its all to late to say no now! Phoenix had another plan in mind when he saw Sophies Ad, revenge, but one look and he knows hes not going to be able to let her go. Well written captive, Dd/lg romance, with hot scenes, desires and more!

Two stars ☆☆

This definitely wasn't the best Jenna Rose novel I've read, but it was okay. Phoenix was very degrading... which I didn't have a problem with at all ;) There was absolutely zero chemistry between Phoenix and Sophie though.

safety:
virgin heroine
daddy kink/face slapping/degradation/spanking/CNC/rough sex
kidnapping
HEA ♡

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Sophie has the perfect life, well one that looks like it’s perfect from the outside but in reality it is one that she has very little control over and now that she is eighteen and she is married to a man that her father has chosen for her. Trapped is exactly how she fells, needing to take some control over her life she posts to a rather risky website that she wants to be kidnapped and play out her fantasy before she becomes the wife that is her new husband is expecting. She never really thought that anyone would respond only when someone does she isn’t expecting the chemistry she and Phoenix have and it isn’t long before she is losing her heart to a man she shouldn’t and wishing that the only arms that will ever hold her are the ones she shouldn’t want. But there is more going on here than just her fantasy and soon she realises that the men she has lost her heart to be only after a payday or is there more going on than she could have ever imagined?

Phoenix has wanted revenge on the man who destroyed all he had ever known when he turfed out the residents of his neighbourhood and built luxury homes and apartments. He has been biding his time so when Sophie posts her ideal fantasy and wants someone to make it come true he sees his way of finally avenging the wrongs he and his friends have suffered. It was meant to be easy, no feelings but one touch of Sophie and he is lost and as much as he is trying to ignore the chemistry that sparks between them. No longer is he thinking of his revenge plan and holding her hostage but of things he has no business wanting, could he have found love with the last person he ever thought he would and could this woman with the world at her feet want a future with a man like him?

This was one seriously hot read, I don’t mind saying I was reading this thinking wow this is hot and should I be thinking this is hot. It’s very taboo but deliciously so and I loved reading this. Ms Rose deserves the 5* I am giving this book.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I had hoped. The blurb sounds so interesting but the execution was lacking for me. We start off with two main characters who are strangers that engage in hot sex, then progress into a dominant/submissive situationship (without much respect given before to earn the submission of his heroine, Sophia). Then, despite his demanding ways and his treatment after the hot sexy times, Sophia (conveniently a virgin), falls in love with our hero, Phoenix. Because the D was that good.

I know, I know... it’s only a 76 page novella, I shouldn’t expect much. But I wanted more than I got.

Smut, really good. Daddy kink with virgin, overplayed. Instalove with a hero that didn’t earn it, sad.

This just wasn’t for me.

Obsessively stalker-licious and bound to steal your attention in the best and wicked way. When a girl has had enough of having no choices or decisions in anything in her life, she decides to take matters into her own hands...by putting said life into someone else's dominant hands. Double-plays, betrayals and falling for the inevitable. A wonderfully steamy read.

Sophie wants to escape an arranged marriage and a life in a gilded cage. A dubious ad on a kink page and her whole life changes. Phoenix just kidnapped her for ransom but everything changes😍😍 Insta love, DD/lg play, kidnapping, dub-con scenes and a bit of demeaning(but just tiny😉), romantic, hot and with a HEA👍👍

Yeah. . . no.

The blurb really got me curious and the story started good but then it just went downhill fast.

This was just a freaking mess 🥴

▬ 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: age gap, daddy kink, revenge
▬ 𝐭𝐰: dubious consent

Be careful what you ask for!!

Sophie is super unhappy with the life her parents mapped out for her, so she posts an ad on a website to see if she can at least have something for herself. When Phoenix answers her ad she ends up getting way more than she bargained for. Will Sophie be able to break free from her parents? Will Phoenix be able to go through with his plan? This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

Es un libro de menos de cien páginas , es súper cortito y lo puedes leer en una hora, por el mismo contenido de páginas se sabe que la historia empieza demasiado rápida y todo el desarrollo como que se salta, y la verdad no me agrado pero es una opinión personal .

I had wanted to read this book for awhile then when I did I hated it. It was boring and felt like it was going in circles. Don’t get me wrong I love a good dark romance book but this just wasn’t my cup of tea. 🤷‍♀️

Literally so bad. I’m all for a good kidnapping romance but this one was like kidnap and torture and immediately they love each other? No.

Meh

The characters didn't connect for me. Their relationship just didn't hit the mark. Sex scenes were mostly one-sided. No build up for female, just insert D*** and call it good?

Taken by the Stranger was about 18-year-old Sophie Madison and (age unknown) Phoenix (?).

Most of this story was told in the Blurb, so I won't bother repeating it. Once Sophie arranged to be "kidnapped", nothing went as she expected. It was all too real, and Phoenix was doing anything but acting. He had recognized her from the picture she posted online along with her ad for someone to "kidnap" her away from her plush lifestyle and marriage. Yes, she had been forced to get married, but the wedding night never took place, so she still had her V-card when Phoenix took her.

The whole thing was more farce than story, to be honest. The angst was not believable, nor were the spicy scenes. The entire book made this reader do nothing more than roll my eyes at every turn. There wasn't anything honestly worthy of writing, let alone reading. This was one of those stories where I wish had never read it.

If the author had used the potential that this book offered, it could have made for a decent story. As it stands, it fell apart before it really had a chance to begin. It was so sadly laughable (and not in a good way) that it didn't earn one star...yet that's what I ended up giving it.

This the story of Phoenix and Sophie. She is a rich girl that got married in an arrangement marriage. The night she was supposed to consummate her marriage she made the hard decision to post in a kink website a “job” to someone to kidnap her and post a picture of her body. She received a response that caught her attention and responded. He told her to wait for him outside her house and she did. He took her and he felt a great attraction for her. But he wanted to punish the man who destroyed his neighborhood: Sophie’s dad. However was not in his plan to get attracted and have an amazing connection with Sophie. At this point, he decided what he thought was the best for her, send her back to her luxuries, but Sophie had other plans. Will they be able to get together and break the different social statuses? Will Sophie fell in love with her kidnapper Phoenix? Great characters and plot. Highly recommended.

The heroine? I have met toddlers with more common sense. The bastard (because ain't no way in hell I'mma call him 'hero'...)? Slapped her. Let her drive in the best possible place a future wife could be apparently - car's trunk. The *gags* hero clearly knows his way around kitchen but still makes her cook for him. Blah, blah, blah, she calls him daddy instead of kicking his nuts off.
At some point even the little idiot (aka the heroine) comes to a conclusion that he's a sexist pig (shocker, I know). And, of course, she's hot for it.
He makes her show him her t*ts while he eats and (wtf) says that she got those genes from her mom? And she's jealous instead of questioning how he even knows that?
I have my suspicions that Jenna Rose is actually a man who writes to express his deep, sexist fantasies of hurting women. Again, reading's subjective. I'm just kinda disappointed that every time I come back to this author, I leave even more disappointed...
The *hero* is an alpha, alright. A podcast alpha...

Shockingly good

I’m seriously shocked at how well this is written. It was just the right mashup for me not to erotic but also not too contemporary. I say that I was shocked because I always bypass this author thinking that it’s going to be someone who wants it to be sexy but really makes it more about blah = boring. So since the story was not blah blah blah, I’m going to say it’s definitely something to read.

Sophie’s character was well written. She had a lot of gutsy and gumption. She came in to herself in this book. True growth.

I hope this book is as enjoying for you as it was for me. Definitely a quick read that I call a pallet cleanser because sometimes you really really like the books and they have such dynamic riding in contact and you just put all your motion into the book and then you get something like Phoenix who appears to be amazingly hot and also spicy.
