I was headed for the perfect life until he showed up...

There’s a wall between the Merillian and the Wilds, dividing two societies that nearly wiped each other out in the biggest race war of all time. Beyond the wall, there’s only the wilderness and the elves that almost destroyed mankind. But none of that matters because I'm off to marry the man of my dreams.

I was, anyways, until we ventured down the wrong road and were attacked by thieves. And not just any thieves. Elves. They'd gotten inside the wall and they wanted something. A metal that all my family jewelry just happens to be made out of. Now, to get their hands on more, one of the elven brutes has kidnapped me for ransom. He's handsome and doesn't have claws like the stories say, but he's still a savage.

I thought I had things under control. I thought I'd be the most annoying prisoner until my father shelled out the jewelry to buy me back. Only none of my plans panned out and Taegen's stupid, charming smile and his smooth words are making me realize how empty my life was before he took me from it. Maybe what I really need is a bit of danger.

I was born on a teeny tiny island in the middle of the ocean to two amazing and adventurous parents. When we moved to the mainland, I was raised on an ostrich ranch in rural Arizona where learned about hard work and responsibility. I attribute my determination to my upbringing and loved the adventures of my younger years. Myself and my siblings schooled in the city, a one hour commute each way.
I majored in theatre then immediately moved on to college when I was 17 pursuing fashion and costume design. I graduated during the recession and couldn't find work, so depression got me until I found the cosplay community and opened up again with both a social life and a creative drive.
Through ALL of this, I was writing in my spare time. From the moment I could draw really sloppy letters on a page, I was creating stories and it became something I did to relieve stress and cope with life changes. At 17, I finished my first novel at 160,000 words (it since got lost in many crashed computers and moves) But since then I have been writing like a mad woman and finally published in 2019. I have no plans of stopping.

This felt somewhat like a bully romance

Given the other two books stories, I wasn’t expecting the king of “bully romance” feel this one gave off, and personally I didn’t like it. I wanted to like the characters, especially since it was the first female in the series who wasn’t running from sexual assault and was more confident in herself.

But Teagan was such an a**. Like I get the cocky over confident persona but his actions were a bit too much at times for me. I was bummed because I really loved the elves in the other two books and how honorable they were.

That’s not too say this book doesn’t have it positive moments. I do love that the main character had a fuller figure (which made her feel more relatable and real) and stood up for herself when she could. Also, I liked the H.E.A.

Beautiful love story💘

I absolutely love love love romantasy stories between a ignored, mistreated woman and a handsome fae prince who treats her like she’s his princess.🥰the romance between Taegen and Imra was the chef’s kiss 😘 for me, loved it. Now onto the story about Sage.📕🥰

“In Montess, I had security. Wealth. Marriage…to a man who couldn’t stop ogling other women. I had pretty dresses…and servants because I couldn’t even get them on and off on my own. Then, on the other hand, Taegen said I had him.”

“Why should I want him! He was a brute…with a body that I wanted to touch…but still a brute. A savage. There were no guarantees with him and yet I felt drawn to the possibilities and spontaneity he came with. I knew his words could easily be lies. Manipulations just to get him out of prison. Then again, he’d made me feel seen more than my own family. More than my fiancé. Perhaps I needed to stop lying to myself.”

Ok, Imra made me laugh. She honestly was the feistiest firecracker yet. She was a spoiled princess who really had to learn a lot about the real world. Then she goes and picks a fight with the biggest, baddest elf in a band of robbers. Who has a bit of an attitude, but in the best of ways.
Watching the push and pull between Teagan and Imra was amazing and it is worth the read!

This book was very exciting with a nice little heist and escape plot. The smut is on point and I love that the main character is plus sized and is never shamed for it.

Went a bit out of my comfort zone with this and created a bit of a spoiled character 😂 Imra is from a life of riches and pampering and has never had to fend for herself until she finds herself wrapped up in corruption and lies. Then she decides to stop lying to herself and leave it all behind. She's been thrown into the deep end with Taegan, a smart ass elf with a smirk and sass that never wavers. But I enjoyed the journey immensely and I hope readers do, too.
