There's so much weirdness going on. He's supposed to kill her, but he thinks she's really hot. They know each other, but she doesn't remember that. Then there's the whole family situation that is so confusing it'll make your head spin. Leo is seriously hot, and he's kinky, and he likes to be called Sir but he's not a Dom. Mia/Marie doesn't back down from anything. In the end true love conquers all.

I have to admit that in the beginning I was a bit confused. It was kind of like going to watch a movie and walking into the middle of the big action scene and having no clue what transpired to lead up to this scene. Other than this I did really love this book. I can guarantee that if you really enjoyed this book that you will love Amante, the conclusion to this duet just as much, if not maybe more. So, if you are looking for your next dark, steamy, mafia romance you need to check out this duet.
The Mia from this book and the Mia from Amante are two different women. In this book, Mia starts out as a sparrow but in the final book, she comes out a raven. I received an ARC of this book and let me tell you...it was AMAZING! The plot, the twist, the turns, the secrets, and the lies! OMG! What a ride!
The storyline is not one I was expecting nor could I have predicted it no matter how much I tried!
Mia was only looking to escape the life she left behind only to step into a world she had long forgotten.
Leo was on a mission! He had one job and one job only! He never failed. But when it came to Mia, things changed!
Leo has a way of using submission with Mia to help her escape her demons. It is a beautiful thing they share and makes for a hotter than hot story! I have a new found love for submission let me just tell you!
I can’t go into detail because your gonna wanna read this book for yourself and enjoy it as much as I did.

This book. It doesn't matter how many times I read it, it captures me, holding me hostage until the very end. I absolutely love the addition to the story and can't wait for the second one. Leo has held my heart from the moment I first opened Amico. Are you ready for the ride of your life? Twist and turns you don't see coming. A love that can withstand anything thrown at it even when you think there is no way. Brace yourself for this one, it will have your emotions all over the place. The perfect dark mafia romance. Can't say I didn't worn you.

General Thoughts: It’s hard to give too much of an introduction here without giving too much away, so I won’t. This is a very steamy, dark rival mafia romance that deals with some dark themes. There was a lot going on in this one. It’s not the most airtight book plot wise I read, but this is one wild ride that will keep you guessing until you turn the last page. If you like your books steamy and ones that keep you guessing, this one has that. The characters were intriguing and the book was very fast paced.
Because of how fast paced it was and how much happened, I thought it was bit loose in the plot at times, but I really enjoyed this wild turn. Settle down and get ready to binge both back to back. Available on KU.
The book itself doesn’t end on a cliff but if you read the Sinema peak chapter, yeah definitely does.

Amazing and Utterly Thrilling!
WOW! This was one suspenseful, intense, sexy and utterly thrilling story to read! This is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be my last. I was totally riveted to my seat and could not put this book down. Mia and Leonardo had me hooked on them right from page one. Their story was one twisty rollercoaster ride of action, suspense, intrigue, sex, murder and mayhem.
Mia and Leonardo took me on a twisted journey of discovery that kept me guessing right to the end. I laughed and cried along with these characters and fell head over heels for them both. Right from their first meeting the chemistry was unbelievable and so intense. Their relationship is fast paced and oh so very sexy!
Favorite Quote: "You'll never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only thing you have left."
There are so many twist and turns in this story that will completely catch you off guard, totally shock you and leave you gasping for breath. I absolutely loved everything about this story and I can't wait to read more from this amazing author. Highly recommend.

Damn!! I knew Evelyn's book were good but Amico was crazy good, she totally blew me away with this one.
The combination of the mafia with just the good amount of BDSM was perfection, and kept me yearning for more.
I savored this book from the beginning until the end, I also loved the fact that she added Italian throughout the whole book without missing a beat, just incredible!
Amico, captivated me, kept me stimulated, and entangled with the characters, Leo the dominant and Mia the submissive.
Their undeniable chemistry was explosive and electrifying from the moment they met.
Leo a control beast you couldn't say no, so passionate, so seductive, a mouth watering arse that had Mia surrendered to his feet,
while fighting against the decision to protect or give her away to the wolves.
But the twists and turned that they encountered made things complicated, the secrets that surfaced to the light made them have doubts.
Will they be able to survive it all? Or will they crack and give up on one another?
You will have to find out.

I don't even know where to begin with this book. This is my first read by this Author and I am completely and totally a fan for life. This journey with Mia and Leonardo has completely drained me. I have experienced every single emotion that these characters felt and have been through every single high and low that they went through. Mia had such a horrific life growing up and there was nobody there to protect her or take care of her. When she goes to Italy to seek answers she runs into Leonardo. They immediately have a connection the only thing is Leonardo is supposed to deliver her to his boss Luigi Lombardi, the head of the Lombardi Mafia. Only now he doesn't know if he can. The more he's with her the less willing he is to give her up. He's learning all kinds of secrets and finds out something that shocks them both while creating an even bigger situation than they had to start with. Just when you think you can take a breath in this book there's another twist or another turn that catches you off guard. This book will keep you entranced from start to finish. Definitely a must read.

Amico is the first book that I’ve read by author Evelyn Montgomery and it most assuredly will not be my last. Good grief she penned the PERFECT MAFIA ROMANCE!
I like my mafia romances dark, sexy and suspenseful. I love twists, turns and adrenaline pumping action. Amico delivers all of that and more in spades. Honestly, Amico is the stuff mafia romances are made of. It’s a quick read at just 182 pages but let me tell you those pages are jam packed with tons of my most favorite things..
I’m not going to get into any real details about this story because I don’t want to ruin the surprises with spoilers. But I’ll give you some teasers to give you an idea.
What I will say is this.
A hot guy walks up to a woman in a bar……
A chance encounter at a hotel bar brings the Hero Leo and the Heroine Mia together. They have such an immediate undeniable connection. One hot electrified attraction. When they get together, it’s a supersonic explosion of fiery passion. They ooze hotness and dripped with so much sexual tension that was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Throw in some minor bdsm and game on! I’m all in….. ALL…..FREAKING…...IN!!!!!
Leo is super sexy, not to mention he’s smooth as butter and one of the best swoony and sensual dirty talkers I’ve read. He’s hypnotic. I’m not kidding when I say that everything he said to Mia must have been laced with some sort of hallucinogenic. One that kept me in what felt like a drug induced euphoria with every word he spoke. God he says some of the best lines ever and meant everything he said to her. He really gets your juices flowing. I never wanted him to stop talking.

However, Leo is a dangerous man. A very dangerous man. Could Leo be a wolf in sheep's clothing? One thing’s for sure. He is a man with an agenda. Orders are given by the don, the one man who changed Leo’s life when he was younger. When he’s given an order it must be carried out or face the deadly consequences of one of the most evil villains. But his agenda changes quickly upon meeting Mia and his new agenda could get him and Mia killed. Will his protective nature towards Mia send him to an early grave?
Mia is so lovely that you can’t help but fall in love with her as well. She is trusting and loyal. She endured a heart wrenching childhood that would leave anyone damaged. No so for Mia. She persevered. Now, Mia’s life is about to take a huge detour. A detour that is on a collision course of danger she’s not prepared for. She’s catapulted into an impossible situation with no way out. Her only hope? A sexy, sensual smooth talker named Leo….. or is he?
But things are not what they seem. People are not who they seem to be. Lies, truths and times forgotten resurface. Young lives forgotten become crystal clear as reality sets in. Once that happens, it is a non stop thrill ride. A ride that includes so many twists and turns you just don’t see them coming. Danger is prevalent and time is running out for Mia.
When Mia finds out the truth her life hangs in the balance. A little girl and her savior, bound by their pasts.….. Can Leo save her life not to mention his own? Will he remain loyal to the man who took him in as a young child and deliver the goods? What happens when all hell breaks loose and all of the villains, deceit, and betrayals are revealed? Will the past set them free? I’m not telling! It's too good to spoil.
When I was finished reading this book, I took a deep satisfying breath. This story was so well written by Evelyn Montgomery. Brilliantly so. There is a hero to love, a heroine to adore and plenty of villains to fear and hate. There are incredible secrets, lies, and betrayals buried in the pages of this book as well as twists and turns that keep you locked into the story with no way out until the very end. There is off the charts hot Hot HOT sexytime, swoonylicious hero behavior and an innocent heroine you can’t help but root for. And finally, there is an ending full of surprises and most of all, a love that is so powerful that not even the worst of the worst could keep them apart.
In short, Amico is one hell of an incredibly addictive 5-STAR mafia romance that I highly recommend to every romance lover out there. Oh, did I mention the dirty talking hero? Yes, I think I did a time or two.

No major spoilers but maybe some tiny ones!

This book is phenomenal while not overly spicy it has a good level between the goods and the storyline. I read this book in under 24 hours and loved every minute of it. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. 1/2 way through the book there’s a plot twist and then a few chapters later is another one and then the next chapter is another one and the ending of the book is another one. While the first half is heavy on the spice the second is heavy on suspense. Which made it all the more alluring. You have tropes like star crossed lovers, some bdsm, love at first sight, and a sexy Italian man. There are also hard topics while not discussed in full detail (which I’m grateful for) there are mentions of rape and abuse. While I did give it 4 stars the actual story is 100% a 5. The reason I personally gave it 4 was because of grammar and punctuation errors that disturbed the flow of the book, and my mental narrative as well as some Italian phrases not being translated or fully translated. I did have to pause to look them up, but these are all personal things that had me rate it a little lower than I wanted. It is a perfectly balanced book with a suspenseful narrative. I will be purchasing a hard copy as well as reading the second book Amante.

I absolutely couldn’t put it down. 1/2 way through the book there’s a plot twist and then a few chapters later is another one and then the next chapter is another one and the ending of the book is another one. While the first half is heavy on the spice the second is heavy on suspense. Which made it all the more alluring. You have tropes like star crossed lovers, some bdsm, love at first sight, and a sexy Italian man. There are also hard topics while not discussed in full detail (which I’m grateful for) there are mentions of rape and abuse. While I did give it 4 stars the actual story is 100% a 5. The reason I personally gave it 4 was because of grammar and punctuation errors that disturbed the flow of the book, and my mental narrative as well as some Italian phrases not being translated or fully translated. I did have to pause to look them up, but these are all personal things that had me rate it a little lower than I wanted. It is a perfectly balanced book with a suspenseful narrative. I will be purchasing a hard copy as well as reading the second book Amante.

I am always absolutely in for a treat and a rollercoaster of a story when I read Evelyn's books.
This story is between Mia and Leonardo.
Leonardo is a player in the mafia . He is used to things going his way and being in control but Leonardo discovers he does have a weakness and that weakness is Mia.
Mia will come to discover she holds more power than she knows . And with power comes betrayal and misunderstanding. But Mia is strong and used to terrible things happening and she will overcome it.
You truly should read this book to see the way the story unfolds it's incredible conclusive and their is no denying the steamy chemistry between Mia and Leonardo.
If you want a book that is filled with suspense / light BDSM and overall amazingly written story look no further.

This is the second book of Evelyn's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. All I can say is WOW! This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster that you never want to get off of. I loved the chemistry between Mia and Leo. Evelyn did an amazing job pulling out the raw emotions of both characters.
I would highly recommend this book if you love mafia romances.

ARC received to rate this book and review. I rate this book 5 stars i absolutely loved it and i thinks too because I’m into the mafia dark romance right now it’s just amazing.
Honestly loved how they are both broke and finally find someone to share that with. How Leo didn’t want to open up he never needs to and with Mia he was just able to and it was right! I loved it!
Especially how Leo is dominate and needs Mia to submit but she doesn’t want to fully submit and she wants to be a brat on purpose made me laugh with how she would act with him.
Also the way Leo wants to protect Mia and he puts himself on the line. No one is gonna touch what’s mine. Love the possessiveness of Leo wish i had a Leo in my life haha

Amico by Evelyn Montgomery is everything you could want in a romance book and more! It’s such a captivating storyline with even more amazing characters. I love love loved how Mia was Leonardo’s weakness, even though she didn’t know it. Or how the book was able to take me by surprise with its unsuspecting yet well written twists. Leonardo’s apart of the Mafia and absolutely captivated by Mia, he thought one night with her would be enough but was severely disproven when he finds himself enchanted by presence in his life. Mia has grown infatuated by this Italian, dominating man. This might just be one of my favorite story’s so far! I love this author and I am ecstatic to read more by her! Definitely a must read!!!

Great read! Very well written with amazing characters and a great storyline. It pulled me in from the very first page. A past riddled with secrets and a present that will unleashed them all. Mia/Maria and Leo/Leonardo have no idea what’s in store for them and when the secrets are revealed everything they thought they knew becomes lies and everything changes.

A gripping dark Mafia story filled with twists, secrets, betrayals and promises! I loved every minute. The story takes place in Italy which is a bonus. Mia is looking for answers in Italy but finds much more than she bargains for when she meets Leonardo, capo of the Lombardi family. What happens next will have you hold your breath! A must read for dark, mafia romance lovers!

I got Amico as An ARC reader and if I don’t get this off my chest then I never will forgive myself. It was truly fantastic. It was spicy and compelling. Read this book in 5 hours because I couldn’t get enough of it. Kept me on my toes for sure. Nothing like a big tough guy falling in love with someone who is so innocent and sweet! And the plot twist at the end!!!! I couldn’t help but fall in love with each character more and more throughout the book. Oh my heavens I need me a Leo now!

This is the first book I have read by Evelyn, and I am completely a fan.
This is a dark twisted tale of love and betrayal. A modern twist on the classic story of starcrossed lovers, except they never new they were starcrossed. They were just two kids who were eachothers world until they were ripped apart.

This book was as suspenseful as it is steamy and oh my god was it steamy! I will never look at pearls the same way!
Not to give too much away but I have to say this book took me on one heck of a roller coaster of emotions. The main characters pasts broke my heart, then as they found love in each other and develop my heart grew, then the jaw dropping ending almost gave me a heart attack.
I can not recommend this book enough. It is super hot and will keep you guessing until the very last page!

Omg! This book was amazing! A good mafia romance, with a touch of forbidden. I absolutely loved leo, he made me swoon so hard. He is so attentive and caring. Maria, she was so innocent, but not in a naive way. Their love story is epic. The love scenes were out of this world hot. Amazing read!

This book has all that was promised. Lust, betrayal and the Mob. Mia and Leonardo’s journey was fast paced, suspenseful and had some twists that I wasn’t expecting. The hot and steamy sex scenes had me blushing and wanting more. The only negative to me is in the beginning there are some words that are used repeatedly that would have made a bigger impact if used more selectively. Other than that it’s a good read.

Holy Spice! 5/5! The build up had me hooked, and when I say this book delivered... 90% spice and 10% captivating plot. This was so different from any mob family book I have read. I NEED book 2. I am in love with Leo's tormented soul. Gahh just amazing all around. I can't wait to see this story continued.
