This is that third and last book in this wonderful series. It starts in April 1913 and Millie is heavily pregnant, but she has been forced to leave her husband Len Lefton, when she realised the only reason he chose her instead of her half sister Elsie is because of the Jam Factory and large legacy she owned. Len had control of the Jam Factory and most of her assets after marriage as he got her to sign. It over, and she unwittingly did it. Millie’s stepfather Wilf and his son take on the case of trying to get her assets back. This is a brilliant third and final book in the series, I had to,force myself to put it down to go to bed. I have read every one of Mary Wood’s novels , they get you hooked from the beginning. I guarantee if you read this novel you will want to read the first two, and all her other books. I highly recommend this wonderful novel.

The Jam Factory Girls Fight Back is a beautifully written and emotionally charged historical novel that captures the strength and resilience of women in pre-WWI London. Mary Wood delivers a deeply human story about friendship, betrayal, and courage, exploring the ways women reclaim their voices and destinies in a time when society sought to silence them.

Through Millie and Elsie’s intertwined journeys, Wood brings to life the struggles of love, loss, and empowerment in an era defined by hardship. Her vivid portrayal of the jam factory, the streets of London, and the characters’ emotional endurance makes this story not just compelling, but profoundly inspiring.

This third installment in The Jam Factory Girls series solidifies Mary Wood’s talent for writing with empathy and authenticity. It’s a triumph of heart and history that leaves readers rooting for justice, hope, and sisterhood.

There always seems to be a disaster just around the corner for the jam factory girls.

I’m glad it all ended well. But that len is a scoundrel.

I enjoyed this one but the dialect seems to have got more pronounced as the series has gone on and I did find that a bit difficult at points.

A very good ending to a great book series, I did enjoy it. This last book however did have a slight error. The book is set in 1913 and it mentions the Crown Prosecution Service. This did not come into existence until 1986... Am not sure how that missed the proof-reading but it was a good book and I will read more of Mary Wood's books.
