The story had a great premise but falls short. The story telling was disjointed and hard to follow. The timelines were off. Plus, there were lots of unnecessary repetition. These are errors and editor should have caught. The main female character was reckless and immature. The writing was high schoolish. Definitely not worth the price. I will not continue the series
I enjoyed this action packed and fairly fast paced book by Chiquita Dennie. Just after leaving an interview, Amelia is mugged. She is rescued by some imposing men. She gets the job and is gob smacked to learn that the handsome man who saved her is also her grumpy new boss, Aydin. Aydin is also surprised to learn that his new employee is the woman he can't get out of his mind. He is determined to keep her at a distance.....no matter what his heart says. Amelia finds herself in the middle of a conspiracy that only Aydin and his team can unravel! This was a good book with plenty of action and heat. However, Amelia was rather silly about withholding information that was vital to the operation.

Walking down the street, talking on her cell phone, a man steps out and holds Amelia at knifepoint with the intention of robbing her. Unfortunately for the thief, she has no money which is why she was currently looking for a job in the first place! Aydin, a former Navy Seal, sees what is happening and accosts her attacker. Then he and another man both walk her to her car.
Amelia is finally hired for a security job and discovers the handsome man who came to her rescue is now apparently her new boss. Aydin is equally shocked, but determines to stay away from her.
When danger surrounds her again, will she trust Aydin? Or will she keep her secret and risk losing her life?
This is the story of Aydin and Amelia. How they meet, end up working together and trouble coming knocking. it was a romantic suspense story at heart with Amelia in danger and Aydin feeling that he must protect her at all cost after trying his best to ignore his feeling for her. Made me laugh a few times as these two butted heads in the beginning which was hilarious. Fingers crossed as they try their best to find the bad guy while staying alive. Lots of trouble, danger, suspense, gun fights and entertaining to the end.
Aydin really made me laugh in parts of this book as it was very clear that he didn’t know how to handle Amelia walking into his life again (even if she doesn’t realize it). For a guy that clearly wants to be in full control of his life, she throws him for a loop.
Amelia has been down on her luck and getting a job at Aydin’s security company is a dream for her. His disregard for her though drives me a bit crazy (even if it’s mainly to hide how he’s feeling). Can she unbury his heart?.

I liked the fact this story began strong. Amelia's frame of mind was good after leaving her interview, but her mood was quickly depleted due to an attempted robbery. It ended up being the one who saved her and initially became her new boss Aydin. I feel as though there were moments his detachment from her was a way to suppress his emotions, and I found it unpleasant.

This book was a wonderful beginnings of a much needed road trip. The chemistry between Aydin and Amelia is truly hot and palpable. The idea of possible links to more books with a common thread. Is definitely worth the read.
I’m SO looking forward to seeing more.

I really wanted the book to pick up at some point because it had some good things about it, but it kept falling short. In the beginning, Aydin is having a hard time and is brusque with Amelia because he is very attracted to her. However, over halfway through the book, they are living together so he can protect her, but all they've done was kiss once or twice. By then, I never felt any connection.
The plot was also all over the place. When Amelia uncovers criminal activity, I expected SEALs at a security firm to jump into action and the story to be edge of your seat suspense, but it never did.
I loved reading this book! Loved the relationship between Aydin and Amelia! They had great chemistry and strongly developed characters. Aydin was a well written book with a fantastic storyline and storytelling.

This book has a good idea but is severely lacking with editing. I dont even know how the main characters look, that’s one of the biggest things readers want to know when trying to grasp who the characters are. And what is up with Amelia being so naive and young minded? I swear she had the mind of a teenager. The story is all over the place, I’m lost 🤦🏽♀️
This book is a hot mess. Characters jobs change at random. A conversation between main characters happens in one chapter and in another it specifically states they never talked about the topic. Lots of inconsistencies. It’s so disjointed and chaotic, and then typos and switching tense within a sentence are added in there. I’m not sure how I managed to finish it.
