I really hate saying I "READ" this, when I truthfully skipped over every BDSM scenes you seemed to like writing lately.
I hate that I spent money on this trash........warn readers it contains BDSM.
I was enjoying this shadow series, even putting up with reading Shadow Warrior with Vittorio's dominance, but will not in the future. I have over 100 women and myself following you, but we ALL DECIDED not to buy this series anymore,
In addition to this series we decided against reading Torpedo Ink series also .I don't understand how all the original Prakenski Brothers including Viktor [Czar} treat their women with as the treasures they are, were all except Ilya in the same horrible schools, all were horrendously abused, yet they are not into BDSM or treat their wives with anything other than respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Impressions
Shadow Fire is the latest installment of the Shadow Riders series and I had a blast with this book so dearly and it contains one of my favorite tropes of all time. I was so stoked to read this book because well I just have adored what this author has done with this series and how family-focused it is. I was thrilled to see that she was expanding these books to members outside of the primary Ferraro family so we can get their stories as well. This story focuses on a second chance romance that builds on a foundation of an arranged marriage. I absolutely adored how Feehan handled this trope for this story. It’s so rare to see this trope anywhere but historical romance. Although on occasion I will see it in dark romance if you are dealing with mafia romance. Feehan has blended the dark and paranormal sub-genres so well in this series but especially in this book and tossed in some thrilling suspense elements that worked so well.
Summary
Our story begins with our hero, Elie Archambault, who has decided to enter into an arranged marriage. He has been known to rush into things so why would his marriage be any different. Elie is good at what he does and is one of the fastest and most efficient shadow riders in the business. The family he is connected to has been pushing for him to get married and why not. There is no one he can see matching up in his life and even though those he calls family believes he is out of his mind for entering into a marriage with a complete stranger, he knows it is the path for him. What he doesn’t expect is that the woman he once hurt years ago, a woman who could have held his heart, is the very woman that he will be marrying but she despises him and wants out of their marriage. Through the connections of working with a mediator, they come to an agreement and find the truth of their past and connect in a way they don’t expect. Both Elie and Brielle find common ground and work through the misunderstandings in their past, and share a bond with each other that will only strengthen a marriage that was originally just business and obligation to their families. But as the enemy draws close to them, will they be able to overcome the challenges ahead?
What I Loved
There was such beauty in this book and I couldn’t put this one down at all. It’s one of my favorites of the series although in honesty I have adored every single book in this series. I had such a blast seeing Elie and Brielle come together in this one. I will say fair warning in the beginning though because you will see them confront the painful past that has linked them for years. My heart just broke for the heroine who has been taken advantage of by her family so horribly and seeing her hurt because of Elie was a challenge but as we dig deeper to the truth, you only respect these two people that need something sweet and beautiful like the love they learn to embrace. They are both so capable with their individual talents and seeing these being expounded on throughout the buildup of the plot was quite interesting and delivers depths that only Feehan can deliver. We see that while they are different, they click in the ways that matter. I was so intrigued with seeing this pairing together, because they just become so united so quickly, despite their past and the way that Elie just fights for Brielle and will encourage her but also set boundaries in the relationship was a delight. Christine Feehan definitely knows how to write her alpha males and I was entranced by the intensity of devotion he has for Brielle. Brielle on her end of the relationship was all in for Elie. She was just as invested in the relationship but also has certain aspects to her personality where she makes her share of mistakes but also grows in learning to live and work with a man like Elie. There was such realism to the relationship that just connects the reader on a deeper level to the various layers of intimacy that is built within this story. We also get some plentiful aspects to the story of side characters that become involved in the story. I truly couldn’t get enough of the Ferraro family in this one, and seeing them take such an active role was such a catnip for this reader. We also get hints that Dario may be the next one to have a story ( I really want to because I have a feeling he will fall so hard when he falls in love). If you are a fan of this author and especially this series, then you will adore what Feehan delivers with Shadow Fire.

Honestly, I loved this book in every way, there wasn’t anything I really struggled with at all.

Did I read a different book from everyone else? Gahhhh. But after looking forward to Elie’s story, this was meh for me. Which, frankly, is a let down.
Take away all the chapters devoted to Elie and Brielle’s kink, and the main storyline is weak at best. There’s not enough action and suspense. There’s not enough romance. Not for me anyway. Because it’s all about them having sexy times. *rolls eyes* which got to be a little too much for my taste.

1.0⭐️ Abandoned-DNF I will be very brief. This series started out with Alphas and the women they love. They are the ultimate Alpha; however, they are loving and respectful to their women. Yes, there has been some kink here and there, but those instances didn’t render them cringe-worthy. It just seems that each successive book gets further away from the original premise of the shadow riders and their purpose.
Similarly, the book before this one, Emme’s book, is a complete disaster, and one for which I wrote a rather scathing review. I didn’t know what to expect with this one, but it became ABUNDANTLY clear very early on. Does the author think that readers want more kinky shit, sex clubs, more hardcore and intense BDSM? How about “Alphas” masquerading as and more reminiscent of cavemen?
I have had enough. If I want down and dirty erotic novels, I know where to find them, and I know what’s in store for me. What I DID NOT expect is this series to cease being exciting romances with unique storylines. What I DID NOT expect is the total devolution of the series.
In conclusion, I AM DONE.

Tried. Couldn't do it. Stuffed to the kills with background information that people who buy this book will already know. This is book #7 of a series, people who've read the previous books will know all this shit. I think in Ms. Feehan's push to garner new readers, she is pissing off her faithful readers in the process. Also...come on! More BDSM? The whole Torpedo Ink series is like a poor study of every kink known to man--including the bondage and exhibitionism. What happened to CF books where the sex was part of the romance rather than just a raunchy show place for all the taboo shit CF wants to dabble in. Leave your kinks at home, CF, and let your readers have an erotic book where we aren't left cringing rather than satiated. And with all the stuff with Dario, it looks like the rest of the books in this series are going to focus on the kink sex...so, this is the last Christine Feehan book for me. Period.

Have you ever read a book that wasn't bad, it just wasn't for you?
This is how I have to describe this book. There were certain things that lessened the enjoyment factor for me that mainly took place within the romance, but as far as the plot goes, I loved it.
My biggest issue was the writing style. Maybe it's just another thing that wasn't for me, but I found the story hard to follow at times and at first I attributed it to not having read the previous books in the series. (I'm not sure if these are able to be read as stand - alones. I would say they are because necessary background information was given in order to understand the events in this book), but I had an issue with the way in which they were presented or how they were given. It's very difficult to put this into words, but essentially as I continued reading, I felt that it lent itself to more of a writing style issue than lack of information issue for me. That being said, I did personally have a hard time keeping up with some of the character names involved in the story from previous books, so regardless, having not read the previous books is still a big factor in my review so take that into account. Outside of that, some things did also feel really repetitive as well.
This book features BDSM/Exhibitionism/Kink, etc. and it's also something that's not my preference. My only real experience with BDSM relationships is 50 shades which definitely seems more like child's play compared to this. This definitely has it on a larger scale in my opinion and it just wasn't for me because my preferences lie in heroines that aren't submissive. I also prefer male characters that don't assert their dominance over women simply because they're big/strong manly men and while there are definitely exceptions to this, it all depends on the author and the way it was written. Here, even though Brielle does have a submissive side in the bedroom, outside of the bedroom she's independent, strong, and capable of taking care of herself and I LOVED that, but it felt like the men were trying to take that away from her. Even though it was something Eli secretly liked, he didn't really voice it. Don't get me wrong, it came from a good place, but again, not my preference.
I won't lie and say I didn't like some instances of Eli's dominance, but what I whole heartedly loved the most was his unabashed honesty. Their relationship as a whole when it comes to honesty is something to be admired. They demanded honesty from one another and they gave it even if it was difficult to do so. With Eli, I also loved how much he's worked on himself and how much he continued to do so. I like the representation it gives and we get to see Brielle start her own journey.
Now like I said, the plot, while slow building, was my favorite aspect of the book. I love the concept of shadow riders and how far they went to not only protect Brielle, but end a ring of international human trafficking. The last few chapters of the book were some of my favorites in seeing it all come to fruition.
Lastly, I truly loved the banter between all the characters. You really do see the family connection and I felt like Emmanuelle was at the heart of that. Two books I would be very interested in reading is her book with Valentino and Dario whenever he (hopefully) finds someone. I loved Emmanuelle's spirit, defiance, and strength. I also loved her teasing relationship with Dario. As serious as Dario is, he's hilarious. It provided from some great comedic aspects.
All in all, check this book out for yourself! However, I would probably recommend starting from the beginning and not from the last book like I did. :)

Shadow Fire is book 7 in theShadow Riders series. Was so looking forward to Elise’s book to learn more information about the elusive Archambault family and to find out whether that young, innocent girl Elie so cruelly rejected years ago, would be a second chance at love.
Well, Elie and Breille did reunite but their reunion was explosive in more ways than one. Shadow Fire had lots of action and there was even more kinky sex between Elie and Brielle. However, after their rocky start to marriage, it was hard to find a soul deep connection between Elie and Brielle.
When they weren't having kinky sex, Elie spent most of his time whining constantly about his "unloving" family, railing against his training as a shadow rider, and turning his back on the Archambaults to become an adopted Ferraro. But he had no problem using the family name when it suited him.
Elie and Brielle never fully emerged as separate people because their story centered on interactions with the Ferraro and Saldi characters. It was perplexing that Elie despised his own family while admiring the Ferraro's (who had their own mother executed) and the Saldi's (a notorious crime family) as the ideal model for loving families.
Elie is so enmeshed with the Ferraro family that there is no room to develop his own separate character. Shadow Rider seemed more a s precursor for Darios' story. I find Darios as a sadistic creep and I feel sorry for the woman who falls into his snare.
Nevertheless, I found the action and storyline action-packed.

Shadow Fire
Although I always like Elie, in this book I was severely disappointed! It seems that Christine Feehan is becoming more and more sadistic with her characters! I don't like her motorcycle characters because they all have these sadistic tendencies! Even some of her Dark series characters are taking on some of them!
Is this to be the direction her newer books are going? If so, I don't know how her other readers feel but I'm not happy with it! I bought this one and am disappointed to have added it to my library!
If you enjoy brutality and harsh sex toys used on women you may enjoy this more than I did! Good luck! Second thoughts on being in a hurry to purchase her next book!

To really understand my rating and review, I must give a bit of background: I became a huge fan of Ms. Feehan WAY back in the day - when her first series was just gaining steam and I was completely new to the whole paranormal genre (think Twilight days). Her books, while a bit more steamy than I liked, were amazingly rich and emotional with storylines that were surprisingly creative and engaging. I absolutely gobbled up every book she wrote. But, as time went on, things changed… drastically. The sex in her books became more and more edgy, titillating (think 50 Shades days) and soon took over the entire book. The storylines were hardly even seen at times. They were thrown under the kink bus and forgotten. So sadly, I tapped out and haven’t read a book of hers in years…
Until now. I found the last two books in her Shadow Riders series on a huge sale and decided to try one more time and see if she has worked her way back to her roots at all. Nope. Not at all, if we are to go by this book. I can say there is a bit more of the super interesting storyline present, but the kinky sex (BDSM/pain, exhibitionist in this case) is still the main focus. And that makes me even more sad because I honestly do love the basic story when it could be found.
SO… it all depends on what you are looking for and comfortable with. For me it looks like this:

To really understand my rating and review, I must give a bit of background: I became a huge fan of Ms. Feehan WAY back in the day - when her first series was just gaining steam and I was completely new to the whole paranormal genre (think Twilight days). Her books, while a bit more steamy than I liked, were amazingly rich and emotional with storylines that were surprisingly creative and engaging. I absolutely gobbled up every book she wrote. But, as time went on, things changed… drastically. The sex in her books became more and more edgy, titillating (think 50 Shades days) and soon took over the entire book. The storylines were hardly even seen at times. They were thrown under the kink bus and forgotten. So sadly, I tapped out and haven’t read a book of hers in years…

No surprises about the story. I got all of my expectations met ➡️ all the of kinky sex scene (zero star) ~ heart pounding meting out Justice scenes (2 stars) 🙇🏽♀️ ~ bad guys got what they deserved scenes (1 star) ~ Happily Ever After for Elie & Brielle (1 star) ~ plus more sex going on (zero star) ❣️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Elie had met Brielle years ago but she overheard the way he talked about her and how he didn't want her as a wife. After she left her family and Elie wasn't able to find her, he gave up ever being with the only woman he knew was for him. He's a shadow rider and it's his duty to marry and have kids to carry on the tradition of the shadow riders. So he enters into an arranged marriage with a woman he's never met or even seen. They sign the papers before ever even meeting so on the day of their ceremony they are both shocked to find the other standing there.
Elie might have been born an Archambault but the Ferraro family are his real family now and they feel the same way about him. His blood family treated him badly and he wants nothing more to do with them. Brielle's family treated her badly and she has nothing to do with them now either so she and Elie have that in common which was just heartbreaking.
Shadow riders are able to move very quickly through the tubes of the shadows. Essentially meaning they are able to turn into shadows and quickly move anywhere shadows are. The Ferraro family gets justice for people who have been hurt by child predators and human traffickers. They are a crime family but they find and kill child predators and human traffickers which makes them the good guys in my book.
After Elie and Brielle get over the shock of having married each other and Brielle realizes that there was a huge misunderstanding between them all those years ago, she accepts who she is married to. As they are getting to know one another, Brielle has to tell her new family that while she is a really experienced shadow rider, she gets sick in the tubes while she is riding. When the family and Elie find this out, she is told she won't be sent on missions but she is also extraordinary with computers. And while she is doing some research, she and parts of her new family are attacked which was a really bad idea for the people who did it. You don't mess with Elie or the Ferraro family, ever.
Now they have to figure out who is out to kill them and why. I liked that Elie was so understanding with her and gave her sometime to get used to them being together. But Brielle was very attracted to him and always had been so she was more than ready to steam up the windows with him. There's quite a bit of kink in their play times which was fine with me. I thought that they made a great couple. I have been loving this series and this book was another great addition.

Greatly disappointed
I usually like this author's story lines enough to ignore the explicit sexual interactions, but this book was mostly sex, with very little else. I gave up about halfway through and did not bother to finish the book. I have read thousands of books and only not finished a handful, so you can imagine how much I did not enjoy this one.

Disappointing
Historically, this author is a definite purchase for me but it is starting to feel like she is going for shock value more than anything. I am not a prude by no means but there seems to be more sex and less story than there used be. Funny, I was so looking forward to this book because I like the storyline so much and the character but now I wish I hadn't wasted the money or time. I realize everybody has different ideas of a rewarding sex life with their partner so when I have been reading this author's books lately I just skip some of the scenes that are are getting to be too much but when i do there doesn't seem to be that much left to read. So disappointing.

A generous 2 stars. I have long since dropped out of most Feehan series. The repetition, 25+ page BDSM sex scenes, and never-ending angst are just too much. This book was no different, but I am invested in seeing what happens with the overall plot of these Shadow Riders. I could cut and paste out at least 50% of this drivel and have something worth my time.
So, beware of this book if you don't have unlimited time and patience. The action scenes were actually pretty good, so there is that...

Another wonderful addition to the shadow rider series. Shadow Riders have a unique ability to travel portals in shadows from one place to another, fast, without being seen. They use this ability as vigilantes doling out “justice” to those they investigate and find to be criminals that escape the law. This book is Elie Archambaut’s story. The Archambault family police the Shadow Riders, doling out justice to those who have committed a crime against the rider code. Elie has been considered an extremely gifted rider fast strong and the pride of the family.
So why has Elie walked away from this prestigious family and his elite family. Why has he found his family among the Ferraro’s? you’ll have to read to find out! Why has Elie decided to enter into an arranged marriage, believing the woman fated to be his would never accept him? Would refuse to be his? You’ll have to read to find out! Who is the arranged bride? Will Elie find a happily ever after with her? Read this amazing plotline and find out!
There are many components to finding a happily ever after. For these two, Physical attraction and similar proclivities are no problem…they are on the same page there! But the communication, getting to the emotional bond needed between them is a challenge. Because of past hurts and struggles to be who they are, both have insecurities hindering that connection.
His from being a prodigy child, shuffled from place to place all his life. Everything revolved around skills and training and no family connection and being wanted for all that he is beyond a rider. He feels he has no control over his life to even discover who he is outside of it, every decision dictated.
Her’s come from being an unwanted child, never good enough. She’d never make a good wife to an Archambault. The challenges in her upbringing make her a strong woman in a stubborn and quiet way. I appreciated her strength.
Christine does an amazing job building this emotional and personal connection, of putting them in situations where the insecurities are challenged and the love between them grows. Yes the physical connection is part of, but they grow to see, appreciate each other. The guidance he can give, the pride he shows in her gifts, the fear he shows when she’s in danger. She shows him she appreciates him beyond being a rider, makes him feel he has a home with her someone who cares for the man he is…all this and more…the knowing that your presence and absence both mean something to someone. Love how they become a team using their individual skills as danger threatens them and those they come to feel are family.
All is written with Christine's signature family bonds and witty dialogue…and of course an edge of your seat plot that shows off the couple and vigilante skills of the riders. Hold your breath action, heart grabbing moments building a connection between them and secondary characters that become the family they both have wanted.

I wasn't sure about this one as it started out. I felt bad for Elie, that he was in an arranged marriage and not that excited about it. Then when his bride was revealed, I was worried that their past connection would work against them. However once they were sort of forced to talk about things and spend some time together they realized how much both of them were played and enjoyed their relationship.
I really liked Brielle being able to see what a functional family should be with Elie's adopted family. They laughed, they gave each other crap, they loved each other. It was also great for Brielle to see that same family argue over who she would work for, Brielle seeing how her skills were wanted and valued was so good for her.
But what I really liked about this one was how all the families banded together when someone came after people they cared out. They held no punches and 2 bad families were decimated, it was like a nuclear war went off, there was nothing left standing of them or for them, but they all deserved it.

I just can't quit you. This is so bad but also good in a fun way. I read these primarily to see just how far over the top Feehan will go. Answer: Not as far out there as others of her many series, but it has its moments.

Elie Archambault is a Shadow Rider capable of manipulating light and dark traveling at super speeds among the shadows to take out enemies and deliver the motto “justice is served.” Elie associates with known criminals in order to eradicate to worst of them including human traffickers. Shadow Riders are trained from childhood with many expectations including marrying others of their kind to fill out the ranks. While Elie has led a very privileged life, he has always felt himself merely a commodity to be used by his powerful family.
Elie has agreed to marry a woman sight unseen not even bothering to find out her name in a kind of Shadow Rider dating service that matches the men and woman based on the results of detailed questionnaires. Elie intends to be a faithful, dutiful husband but love is another matter. The woman Elie wanted slipped through his fingers after some major mistakes on his part.

As Elie and Brielle come to terms with their past and present as husband and wife, they spend quite a bit of time in the land of kink that goes on for many pages. Ms. Feehan has that proclivity in her books these days of which I am not particularly a fan. She tells a good story however, and although at times repetitive and unnecessarily wordy, her stories are compelling, usually drawing me right in as this one did. This is book #7 in the Shadow Riders series and can be read as a standalone. I have not read the prior books, but did not feel lost as plenty of explanation about the Shadow Rider world are included.
Elie Archambault is a Shadow Rider capable of manipulating light and dark traveling at super speeds among the shadows to take out enemies and deliver the motto “justice is served.” Elie associates with known criminals in order to eradicate to worst of them including human traffickers. Shadow Riders are trained from childhood with many expectations including marrying others of their kind to fill out the ranks. While Elie has led a very privileged life, he has always felt himself merely a commodity to be used by his powerful family.

A good addition to Feehan’s “Shadow Riders” series, this one follows Elie Archambeau and his second chance romance with Brielle. Neither come from particularly loving families and both have plenty of insecurities, so figuring out how to make it as a couple will be a challenge- but its a challenge Elie always wanted a chance at. Brielle has had her heart crushed by the family that was supposed to support her and a young Elie did a good job of hurting her too. So, despite still having a massive infatuation with Elie s, she isnt so sure about handing him her heart. But neither are the people they were before, and maybe with age can come the confidence to risk discovering how vulnerable theyare to each other, and how strong they can be together.

Watching the, discover they deserve love was sweet, and especially watching Brielle gain the confidence she needed to sometimes ask for help from others made her, and the rest if the cast of characters willing to support her, stronger and more relatable. A good read, and not one you necessarily need to have read the others in the series to enjoy.

I am such a huge Christine Feehan fan and I can honestly say I’ve loved everything I’ve read by her and this book was no different! It’s unique it’s dark it’s sexy add the supernatural elements to it and I’m obsessed! This book can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the whole series but if not you won’t be completely lost . Also the sex is super hot but that’s one of the things I love most about this authors writing she doesn’t shy away from the smutt some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve read have been written by her and this story is filled with all the smutt ! I really enjoyed this story definitely recommend!

Page turner for so many different reasons. The Shadow Riders deliver justice. Eli is one of the fastest and signs an arranged marriage. The depth between Eli and Brielle working out their relationship, the honesty and integrity each brought to it really spoke to me. Both Eli and Brielle grew up with out real family connection and watching them become a family with the Ferraros and the Saldis was flat out heart moving. Watching them become a family unit on their own was beautiful. The other page turner was because BSDM, Kink etc does nothing for me and I had a hard time with those sections, but if it is your thing, you know Christine will bring it with class. Even with the dark background, the trafficking, the child abuse, there were moments of goodness, family and humor to help carry you through. So like the real world, there is darkness, there is light. I so want Dario to have a happy ending but I don't know if I will be strong enough for it :( Thank you for the arc, I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

I was so excited to dive into Elie's story and it definitely didn't disappoint. It opened in Elie's POV and pulled me straight into the story as it began with his wedding to a woman he didn't even know the name of his bride. If you've head the previous books you're familiar with his story of being a complete arse to the love of his life. This being a romance it's no surprise that said love of his life also turns out to be his bride. Even if she hates him and does not want to wed him. After the necessary back and forth in low pitched voices it's no surprise that they get married. And then the adventure begins.
I enjoyed Shadow Fire. Great chemistry and a fun new "power". I loved seeing cameos of the rest of the family as well as learning a bit more about Dario.
I do wish the villains had a few more dimensions rather than just being horrendous people. They feel a little flat, but they are not a key element to the story, just an obstacle to our heroes.
Overall another fabulous addition to the series!

Never, ever again. I can't believe I spent $9 on this. Every male character is more and more of a Mary Sue, the female characters are more and more vapid, the storyline is Quentin Tarantino levels of gory, and I got so bored with the BDSM scenes that I went and cleaned my bathroom. Cleaned. My. Bathroom.
I keep wanting to like one of her books again, but I think this one has finished the desire forever.

I tried…
I wish I could keep up with this series, but I throw in the towel. The plot could cause a few triggers for some readers, for me it was enough of the S&M bondage background. Not ALL the Riders have to be into this type of sexual gratification, its overkill and just redundant at this point.

So Disappointing
I was so looking forward to reading Elie' s story. Instead I get a story based on kink and pain. The business part of the story, taking down a trafficking ring was exciting. I no longer look forward to Dario's story, if indeed Feehan is planning to write about him.
