Life as a ghost can be a lonely existence. Robert counts himself lucky to have had Clothilde by his side for thirty years, as they watch the seasons pass, the mourners weep, and other ghosts come and go as they deal with their unfinished business.
When Clothilde makes a new friend in their latest arrival, Robert marvels at seeing her laugh and behave like a teenager again. Even if it means him being lonely. She deserves some hapiness.
But when a second girl arrives in their cemetery, a pattern emerges.
Robert and Clothilde must once again apply their crime-solving skills to go after their new friends’ murderer.
R.W. Wallace writes in most genres, though she tends to end up in mystery more often than not. Dead bodies keep popping up all over the place whenever she sits down in front of her keyboard.
The stories mostly take place in Norway or France; the country she was born in and the one that has been her home for two decades. Don’t ask her why she writes in English – she won’t have a sensible answer for you.
Her Ghost Detective short story series appears in Pulphouse Magazine, starting in issue #9.
Wonderful mystery. I got tired of the same old type of mystery story so finding one told from an entirely different perspective was great. Plus the touch of fun and witty situations was very entertaining. Loved it!!
The ghosts of the cemetery are joined by two new ghosts who have a surprising connection.
Once again, the ghosts work to solve a mystery without leaving their enforced confinement. And this time, they make a shocking discovery that will change how they exist.
This is a wonderful set of stories that can be read quickly and still manage to deal all the fulfilment of a longer tale.
Every book that I read in this series is fantastic. This book and the rest in the series is such an innovative concept for a story that just draws you back for. RW Wallace has easily become one of my favorite authors.
A very interesting way to let a ghost leave a cemetery for a while, the removing of their coffin. A very believable scenario that I feel is happening in many large cities these days!
