Hazel is down on her luck, without a job or a place to live and things only get worse when she gets into a fender bender with a beautifully dark man named Myles. He’s supermodel gorgeous with dark hair, and piercing eyes.
She’s afraid, and worried. With no money she’s not sure how she’ll repay him.
When he offers her a job at his club dancing, she doesn’t know what to expect, and she certainly isn’t prepared to fall for the man. What started as repayment soon becomes obsession, need, and want. But a man like Myles has secrets and when Hazel discovers just how dark the man she’s falling for is will she run or will she stay?
Darcy Rose is a USA Today Bestselling author who writes about shy and innocent heroines, to match them up with dark and intense heroes who have only eyes for one girl.
If you like your books short, taboo, dark, and a bit (or a lot) kinky, then Darcy Rose is perfect for you.
The beginning of this made me think I was going to like it. But I didn't.
1. WHERE ARE THE INDENTS? Am I living in an alternate reality where indents aren't a thing anymore? Because it's really messing with my reading.
2. The authors couldn't decide whether to make the heroine a virgin or a porn star. One second she claims she's not a nun and that she's done everything in the book but sex, the next she's an innocent virgin. It doesn't work like that.
3. And probably why this book failed immediately for me
"I haven't fucked a virgin in a long time, and she most assuredly looks like one."
There is 10% story and the rest is sex (which I skimmed)
Enjoyed reading this book. I liked the synergy between Myles and Hazel. Their intimate scenes are really hot. It's a short romance novel but in spite of that, it was a good read.
I was expecting Myles Hale to be the mean one. I thought he’d have the hardest time admitting his needs. I wanted the protector, the enforcer, the brother who was the most unhinged. Sadly, Myles is your run of the mill sweetie and I actually kind of enjoyed him.
Hazel’s past isn’t pleasant. Having been kicked out for failing to pleasure her foster father, she’s left to fend for herself. Having a panic attack and emotional breakdown while driving isn’t ideal but self preservation persists. Then fate intervenes and her unwitting savior appears.
When a distracted driver rear ends your car, the last thing you should be thinking of is buying THEM a meal. Yet that’s exactly what Myles does when he sees Hazel crying and distraught. Then he shocks the heck out of everyone, himself included, and gives the girl a job & a place to live.
Myles’ instant attraction to Hazel brings out his Alpha JP tendencies and damn anyone who looks at ‘his girl’. All it takes is one show, and he’s refusing to let her go. No public dancing. No other men. No leaving.
It's Myles and Hazel's turn and their story didn't hit the mark... Every Hale brother is an assassin/ enforcer of some short? I though that each one had a different department handled when I started reading their stories. Hazel was quite unlikable and the slutty yet innocent image got on my nerves. I feel a little disappointed....
Do yourself a favor and don’t listen to this audiobook unless you want to puke in your mouth a little at least 20 times. I wish I was exaggerating. This was my first book by these authors. The audiobook is only 3 hours long so I figured what do I have to lose? The answer… my sanity. The guy who narrates it sounds like a grandpa (and not the sexy grandpa either). Within the first minute of this guy meeting our young heroine he goes from thinking she is 16 to talking about how hard he is for her. Not to mention he can just look at her and know that she is a virgin 🙄 This book is not for me. I won’t give more away. I don’t recommend it. You’ve been warned.
safe to say that this is my favourite book in the series. though it was nothing different than the others asides from the way the two MC’s met, the writing and the connection between both characters just felt more real this time around.
plus, the smut was a bit more detailed along with a side of some cute moments which is the way to my heart.
apparently Griswold Addams has more than one awful voice. Let me rephrase - his voices will work well for other genres, but NOT romance. This man has the least sexy voices I've ever heard.
again - I recommend you listen to the audio just so you can agree with me. It's so bad.
I will go back and read this book later because it's not very long and it has promise. This is a placeholder.
Sigh... This is just as Cringe... Men who want sex in exchange for gratitude 🤮 All the female leads in this series are struggling and down on their luck. The author had soooo much potential but chose the cheesy, sleezy route. Not attractive!
For Hazel and Myles, it’s attraction at first sight. The novella features Hazel, newly 18 and homeless from her foster home after not giving in to the lascivious proposition of her foster father. Rear-ending Myles, a made man, she agrees to work her repayment down by dancing in his strip club. Attraction, chemistry, and heat arrive quickly in this instalove story.
An enjoyable read. I’m always glad to read a Darcy Rose book because of the steam and generally engaging stories, not always the most original, but still worth the read. The pace was fast but did not affect the delivery. I loved the heroine and hero. I felt in their burgeoning love, they were very devoted to each other. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the overuse theme of splitting up because of not communicating or contrived reasons, when the talking would have resolved the romance. Also, a bit of a plot flaw on the virgin or not virgin, experience or not experienced heroine.
Still, I was happy to read this romance and would recommend it for someone wanting a fun, sexy, quick read with great characters and steam.
Hazel finds herself in dire straits, unemployed and homeless, and her situation takes a turn for the worse when she gets into a car accident with a strikingly handsome man named Myles. He exudes a supermodel-like charm with his dark hair and piercing eyes. Fear and worry consume Hazel as she contemplates how to repay him without any money to her name. When Myles offers her a job dancing at his club, she hesitantly accepts, unsure of what to expect. Little does she anticipate that she'll soon develop feelings for him. What initially began as a debt repayment evolves into an overwhelming obsession, desire, and longing for Myles. However, Hazel soon realises that Myles harbours dark secrets. In this book, there isn't as much drama as in the previous three in the series. Up until now, Myles has been, let's say, the most serious and dangerous, but now when it comes to him, he's restrained and very openly admits to Hazel what he wants from her and how he feels. The lack of drama is compensated for with spicy scenes. Myles is very attractive; somehow, I even prefer him over Archer from the first book. Since there isn't as much drama, we don't really get to see much of what Myles does, apart from taking over the club. I expected each of the brothers to have some specific role they're responsible for. Maybe most of you won't agree with Hazel being a virgin, yet as soon as she's with Myles, that changes very easily, and she becomes quite promiscuous. The book definitely isn't bad, it's a quick read, easy to get through, interesting, and spicy. Although there are cringe-worthy parts, it's worth reading. Of course, I recommend the entire series.
Review : This one was a short and spicy tale and I loved every minute of it! The authors have delivered one hell of a punch and I will definitely recommend this book to all dark romance loving people.
Hazel and Myles are downright amazing and I can’t even tell you guys how much I loved them. These two authors never hold back on the steamy scenes and the darkness and that was the best thing! Highly recommended to all the dark romance loving people out there!
Hazel doesn’t have a job or a place to stay and when she gets into a fender bender with Miles, she has no way to pay him back. He offers her a job dancing at his club and sparks fly. Fast-paced read with lots of steamy chemistry and plenty of drama and emotion. Great characters and an entertaining story. I really liked it.
Short, dark, sweet and kinky and I was here for it. Myles is the one that gave his brothers a hard times with their girls and now it’s his turn to fall and he falls hard. I devoured this in one sitting. His possessiveness toward Hazel was swoon-worthy.
Hazel crashes (quite literally) into Myles ' life bringing with her plenty of complications for him. I liked the sweet naivety Hazel had which i think played off nicely with Myles' gruff hard man. A short and steamy read with two great characters. I really liked it. It was a good read
The Hale Brothers are dark, sexy, and dangerous. I've enjoyed each of their steamy stories.
Myles and Hazel's story is a quick spicy read. She is down on her luck and crashes into his car. He offers her a job at his strip club and a place to stay.
Dark romance Novella Steamy scenes Insta-love Possessive alpha HEA
Another quick steamy read by Darcy Rose. This book features hazel and myles. We have seems Myles in some of the other books. From seeing Myles in the other books in the series I expected this one to be darker but it ended up not being dark at all. I would have liked to get to know the characters more. I'm not sure if Hazel is meant for him outside of the sexual connection as we didn't get to know much about her. We got to see some of the other brothers pop up in this story as well. It's always good to see familiar faces.
Hazel is down on her luck; with no money, no job and only her car to sleep in things couldn't possibly get any worse, right? Wrong! She ends up rear ending a very gorgeous guy named Myles and he can tell she has no money to pay to get his car fixed. He decides to offer her a job at his strip club as a dancer to pay him back. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
2.5 stars - started off okay but the heroine literally let the H treat her like shit and she allowed it every time. there was no relationship progression either. they kinda interact a handful of times but only for sex. then they don’t see each other for 2 weeks and all of a sudden they’re in love? idk man the Hero wasn’t even ott possessive or anything. he makes her a stripper and is literally fine with his friend seeing her legs spread - fingers up the kitty and all.

His Stripper is a steamy and sexy quick read. Myles and Hazel's story had plenty of danger and sizzle. The story line was entertaining and the characters were well written. I really enjoyed this book. It's a great addition to the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoy a short story every once in awhile a instalove, Myles was fighting it Hazel was a little scared but it happened. Glad Randy got what he was owed. I have to go back and read the others that sound entertaining. This was a good book so I'm assuming the others will be to.
This series is really good. The stories are a bit similar in theme but different enough because each one is about a different brother. This one is Myles' story - which is super funny when he falls for his woman because he wasn't the most accepting when his brothers fell in love. Myles resists it until the very end, but his alpha energy is steamy.
No bad, l like the story, even the characters. It was a fast easy read. However now that "it's over" it's not a story that will linger in my thoughts and make me want to re-read it again. Shirley
This story was a page turner....As Myles and Hazel get to know each other, feelings get involved. Myles tries to fight his and when Hazel runs he helps her get away......
I really like how Myles was very against relationships through the other books and this one. Even when he found the girl that consumed his thoughts and heart. But like every true love he had to send Hazel away to realize he loved her and he couldn’t live without her.
Quick, fluffy novella. About what you would expect in a book of 90 pages. Insta-love, sex, but added the hooker vibe to this one. Not much else. Good if you just want to cleanse you mind before starting something more.....2.5-3 stars
